Okay, but actually, my biggest Effie headcanon is that she has terrible eyesight but is too afraid to actually fix it with a surgery so she just wears lenses all the time.

But after the revolution lenses are in short supply so she reluctantly started wearing glasses.

She probably has an elegant gold-trimmed pair (maybe with half-moon lenses) and she always complains that she had to change the way she wears her makeup to make this work and that they make her look old. (Haymitch disagrees)

Warning for people who are afraid of needles!!

This mission is that in the box there are 20 syringes, 16 of which are poisons, and the other 4 are vitamins. You have to inject all of them to pass the mission.(This game is a game of chance to see who will survive the poison.)

Kinger: If that's the case, then we'll have to share the syringes equally.

Zooble: No one wants to be poisoned.

Kinger: But he said that you need to use all the syringes to complete the mission.

Zooble: Okay...So who wants to start first?

Jax: I would think that everyone doesn't need to use it. I think I want to try a new toy.

(He turns to look at Ragatha and brings out a syringe for her.)

Jax: Okay, doll. I'll give you an injection.

Ragatha: Wait, why does it have to be me?

Jax: You are my slave and you must do as I say, and this time I order you to sacrifice for all of us.

Ragatha: yes master...

(When the medicine takes effect, Cain said that when the medicine takes effect, she will swell up like a puffer fish, its body will become round like a ball.)

Jax: Oh my god, you don't look like a puffer fish, you look more like a bear.

actually i don’t care how afraid your kid is of needles they don’t understand the potential consequences of not getting vaccines i literally do not care how much they are kicking and screaming and crying because i was also that kid and trust me you can get therapy for a fear of needles or a distressing doctor’s visit but you cannot get therapy for dying from fucking polio

Pomni is already a nervous wreck about anywhere Caine takes them, and vets are no different. Especially on a visit where there are shots the size of her tiny body.

....although for some, the size doesn't really matter to still be afraid

hey Doc, I was wondering what you do with patients that are scared of needles? I'm really scared of them myself, do you have any tips when it comes to fear of needles?

ive answered similar asks here and here! im sure whatever i say now will be more or less the same as those answers.

i may have already mentioned in those posts as well, but just in case, i will reiterate that it can be good to let your doctor or nurses know that you are afraid of needles when receiving shots/blood draws/ivs (although the iv itself does not have a needle, if that helps! a needle is used for insertion but it doesnt stay there) and they should be able to comfort you, talk you through it, things like that. and, as probably also mentioned previously, providing yourself with a distraction and/or alternative sensory input may be a good way to cope with a fear of needles during injections as well!
