((I'll try to do replies tomorrow, but I think I'm gonna start working on the ikau so I can get that going because I really want to talk about certain things sdjgjshfh
#local cryptid sighting (ooc)#((like one of my favorite gifsets of JC and how it works specifically for the ikau#and also general hcs and changes for canon events heh#i will say carterio is gonna still play a role in the ikau even though I'm not going with it as an au for her regular verse!#it works really well to give him motive for ffh in lieu of Tony though Stark Industries is still gonna screw him over#a la contracts and legal property#bUT i really need to like. actually write everything out so i can get a solid feel for how i want the ikau to work you feel?#so yeah i might make that my priority while my health is still in the gutter ahah#but also ikau Carter my beloved <3))

i know you prefer constructive criticism, but lemme be sappy for a moment and highlight my fav things about you ok? so from the get-go, i knew your writing was special. but it wasn't until i finally got the chance to interact with you that it finally clicked /why/ i was so compelled. your immersion is out of this world, the way you seamlessly reference specific lore of the game into how albi sees the world, really stands out. i can /feel/ his growth, his changes through the storyline... (1/2)
… i also admire your consistency in his characterization, but also managing to accomplish showing nuanced changes to his growing maturity. especially as a WoL, it can be hard to create an identity for someone who is supposed to be this plug-in generic hero out of nowhere. but albi feels believably a part of the game! he has so much life, and i appreciate everything you do for albi. please know i am always eager to hear and read your thoughts, metas, hc’s, ramblings, && so much more! seeing as i… did not reblog that meme (though, knowing you, i’d imagine it had no bearing on you sending this!), consider me absolutely floored to find something like this in my inbox at all. you’re entirely right, though, heh. i do prefer constructive criticism. rip me to shreds, lovelies.
but regardless of my preferences, thank you. thank you, thank you, thank you. to be supported in this selfish little endeavor of mine is such a treat, and even more so when i’m being supported by good friends (that’s you.) ! i’m pretty awful at like. not answering these things without sounding like i’m trying too hard to be an adult, but really, thank you !! there’s few compliments i can get as a writer that really rank higher than ‘your original character feels like they’re a part of the actual canon’ and i just… wipes my tears away !!! thank u for loving my son !! i’m so utterly blessed…
oh, and because it’s you, but also for anybody that’s interested, there’s this excerpt from the author’s note of ursula leguin’s left hand of darkness that i wholly think is a good way to think about writing bc it’s been buzzing about my head all week: “… [fiction writers] go about it in a peculiar and devious way, which consists in inventing persons, places, and events which never did and never will exist, and telling about these fictions in detail and at length and with a great deal of emotion, and then when they are done writing down this pack of lies, they say, there! that’s the truth!” it’s just. a good way of stating something we all know in a different way, i think… and it puts an emphasis on creating ‘people’ instead of characters, and placing those people inside a world !!
