(normally it's a surname, I've only seen it used as a first name once in a blue moon -- but also in the pokemon world it's pretty clear that naming conventions aren't the same lol)

YEAH -- JOHTO BUG CATCHING CONTEST BABEYYY#(hgss edition)#TWO of his main team are johto pokemon#he moved from melemele island to ula'ula where malie city/garden are -- inspired by johto and even including a johto-style gym#(I mean yeah he STAYED bc po town had a sudden amount of free real estate but why did he GO THERE in the FIRST place to join the#proto-Team Skull.)#though ig if he hates his dad maybe his dad's Not from johto and is from paldea instead ('rents could've been inspired by the name guzmán#and just wanted to make it sound more unique lol)#but either way he totally used to go to johto with his dad which is where he won a bug catching contest with his pinsir.#and then started winning battles there but always getting second/third place in actual like. /competition/ competitions. so not#getting the grand prizes/money/stuff/fame that his dad wanted him to earn for the family#ANYWAYS.

Absolute banger team, loved every moment, 10/10 would take a relaxing stroll through Hoenn with them again (please give Jynx Ice Beam as a level up move wtf she gets every physical ice move under the sun but not the one she actually needs?????? yeah i'm gonna use avalanche, a move that makes you go last, on a mon that's the defensive equivalent of soaking wet printer paper. is it crack you smoke)

No spoilers but what would you rate the unova seasons?
haven't watched them since I was like 6 or 7 so no fucking clue besides mini Martin liked it and there was a cool Karablast Shellmate episode I distinctly remember

#I'm not powering through the whole anime just journeys a con I'm going to in 13 days has both Ash and Goh so I figured I'd do it#I need to go back and watch more#journeys is reminding me why I fell in love with pokemon as a kid#Genuinely that trading episode is the only episode I actually remember I don't think I watch all of bw because cartoon network was ass#With scheduling#I remember watching DP as a larval child with my older brother#Then very late XYZ I watched religiously#Alola I only got my hands on recently because I didn't have disney xd but a video game store near me had a bunch of it for dirt cheap#And journeys is by far the most accessible being on netflix#Had bunch of Kanto on vhs as a kid#Never seen much of Johto and Hoen just the movies#If for some reason your in Washington area come to summer con meet Ash I'm doing a Journeys Ash costume one day
