I dreamt of you again. It was a beach this time, dusky and cool, the soft wind blowing your hair- longer than I’ve ever seen it or remember it, fluttering against the column of your neck. I think about you when I look at flowers and pictures of dinosaurs and when it’s your birthday (that was last week- how was it? I hope there was cake and laughter, and this is the first one I missed in years, and I think of last year and I remember your bright laugh and flashing lights and your shoulder flush against mine-).
