#and cream cheese frosting with raspberry jam in the center

Gotta make macarons for my niece’s grad party and she gave me two flavors and four colors so I’m trying to figure out what flavors to do. I’ve got a dusty pink, dusty blue, light yellow, and a light olive green. She requested strawberry (pink) and raspberry (yellow) and I figured vanilla (blue) was a safe bet for another flavor. That leaves me with green. Help?
For the record, matcha and pistachio have both been vetoed but would have been the obvious choice. I’ve also made chocolate ganache filled macarons green in the past so I’m sure it sounds weird but it’s kind of just an easy crowd pleaser flavor like vanilla.
#in case you’re interested I’m doing a strawberry buttercream with freeze dried strawberries#and cream cheese frosting with raspberry jam in the center#and whatever extra vanilla buttercream is getting espresso powder added to it because my niece said ew no but they’re my sisters favorite#and she’s got celiac so I periodically make her macarons to freeze because they can be expensive and they’re one of the few desserts#that are meant to be gf#idk if doing the sour apple with caramel would be too many fruits but I think I like that idea best tbh#and if I did pandan would I eliminate vanilla and have to make something blue??#i need a new personal tag#idk#macarons and baking tag

Berry Chantilly Cake
Ingredients
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1-1/2 cups sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-1/3 cups cake flour
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup 2% milk
Frosting:
16 ounces mascarpone cheese
16 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 cups confectioners’ sugar
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Filling:
2/3 cup seedless strawberry jam
2 cups each fresh blueberries, raspberries and sliced strawberries, plus more for decorating, if desired
Directions
Step 1: Make the cake
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line bottoms of two greased 9-inch round baking pans with parchment; grease the parchment. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy for 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Pour into prepared pans, dividing the batter evenly.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before removing to wire racks; remove parchment. Cool completely.
Step 2: Make the frosting
In a small bowl, beat mascarpone and cream cheese until blended. Gradually beat in confectioners’ sugar until smooth. In another bowl, beat cream and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Add whipped cream to mascarpone mixture and beat on low speed until combined.
Step 3: Assemble the layers
Cut the cakes in half, horizontally, and spread one-third of the berry jam mixture onto the cut sides. Top with about 1 cup of frosting. Sprinkle one-third of the fresh berries over the cream. Top with another cake layer, and gently press down. Repeat the layers.
Step 4: Frost and decorate
Spread the remaining frosting onto the sides and top of cake, decorating however you’d like with remaining frosting and berries. This is your chance to get creative! If you liked this cake, then you must try our favorite strawberry cloud cake.
Does Chantilly Cake Need to Be Refrigerated?
Given the amount of dairy in the frosting, it is best to keep any Chantilly cake leftovers in the refrigerator. This will not only keep the frosting from spoiling, but will prolong the life of your berries as well. Use an airtight container so the cake doesn’t get stale or take on any other fridge flavors.
Tips for Making Chantilly Cake
Add a teaspoon of almond extract to your cake batter for a more authentic New Orleans flavor.
To make your freshly baked cake layers easier to cut in half, freeze them for at least an hour after they’ve cooled.
Give the berries on your cake a jewel-like shine like you’d see in a bakery window. Just make a glaze by mixing a little strawberry jam with a splash of warm water to thin it out, then brush it on the berries.

I think I'm going to make a flesh-themed cake for my birthday. I'm thinking red velvet marbled with a bit of white or yellow for fat layered with raspberry jam with red frosting textured to look like tendons and cream cheese piping for bones. Possibly with a pool of raspberry jam pooling up from the center with gummy worms crawling all over it. I'm thinking something intentionally very cartoon-y because I don't want to disturb my good friends too badly but my goth roommate who watches french extremity is already a bit concerned by this version lmfao.
However I DID tell everyone that the party would be soup-themed but that's just because I want to try out my new immersion blender.
Maybe it's just hilarious to me bc I'm a vegetarian (well besides the gummy worms :/)

AMA Tuesday! What are some of your favorite foods to cook?
thanks for the ask!
I like making chicken tikki-masala because of the spices I use--cayenne and paprika. It’s a got a good sweet and spicy taste. I also like the greek yogurt marinade you cook the chicken in. I also like making cheese sauces because it’s super easy--I just use heavy cream, butter and whatever cheese I want. Usually I pick gouda or gruyere.
I’m not the hugest cake fan but I do like baking cakes. I made my birthday cake last week and am going to do it again this week for my grandpa’s birthday, I’m just going to use a different frosting recipe because I fudged the last batch, lol. And because I’m extra I’m also making a raspberry jam center <3
#the jam is easy tbh#just mash the berries and add sugar cook on a stove#<3#thanks for the ask!#lechatrouge673

“Don’t worry. He’s specialized in allergy free cakes. I explained everything about hikari’s allergy, so no mangoes are anywhere in the shop.” He whispered back.
Jackson smiled. “Our first slice is a decadent red velvet cake with a homemade cream cheese frosting mixed with a dash of caramel and dusted with edible glitter.”
Hikari’s eyes sparkled at the red velvet cake. “Oooh~! Um...what’s wed vewvet?”
“It’s like chocolate cake mixed with red food coloring.” Jackson explained. “The second slice is a rich dark chocolate devil’s food cake with an almond butter filling and a cocoa powder finish. The third slice is an angel food cake with a strawberry jam center and a coconut cream frosting. And the forth slice is a buttercream vanilla cake with a raspberry glaze and topped with a mint garnish.”
Thompson was amazed by the display. “They all look amazing, Jackson! We’ll try each of these out and decide on our final verdict for our wedding cake.” He smiled.
Allergies don’t exist says Karen (open rp)
Hikari was at her favorite frozen yogurt place when she saw Karen and her kind child. Her kid got a mango swirl with mango chunks. She offered some to Hikari, but she politely declined as she was highly allergic to mangoes.
Karen did not take this too well and secretly put mango chunks in Hikari frozen yogurt when she wasn’t looking.
When hikari took a bite, she began to sweat and she held her throat, coughing and gasping for air.
The worker immediately called 911, but Karen tried to stop them.
“Don’t call anyone! She’s clearly faking! Allergies don’t exist! She’s just a rude brat trying to get attention! That’ll teach her for being rude to my baby!”
Everyone stared at Karen in shock as Hikari soon passed out, her cheeks completely swollen.

Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Show someone you love by making them a heart-shaped chocolate chip cookie cake from scratch. You can make this cookie cake recipe for Valentine’s Day or for a birthday!
It’s that time of year again, where I’m sharing a heart shaped dessert and sharing with you our wonderful Good Cookie Food Bloggers’ Valentine’s Day event that benefits Cookies for Kids’ Cancer (C4KC).
For seven years now, I have been fundraising for this wonderful charity because childhood cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the US and because we need more pediatric cancer research money!
This is our third year for our V-Day event and I love love that these brands, OXO, Mediavine and Dixie Crystals are all matching funds raised up to $3000.
I do want to mention that I don’t make any money on this event…this is all volunteer for me and all of the money goes directly to C4KC! Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post where you can see the full list of bloggers participating and links to their recipes!
I also launched a shop and the first items for sale are Baked with Love t-shirts and tote bags. I’m donating all of the proceeds from these sales to C4KC too!
Hurry though, we the presale for these items go through the end of this week (Friday). We have to have enough orders in order to print the shirts and tote bags! Thank you for your huge support!
Can you freeze chocolate chip cookie cake?
Yes, you can free a chocolate chip cookie cake! Just make sure it’s sealed and it taste just fine when you defrost it to eat later. It will be better if you cut it up first before freezing.
How to make chocolate chip cookie cake from scratch
Here’s how to make a chocolate chip cookie cake from scratch. It’s really easy. Just follow the steps and step by step photos below.
Mix flour, salt, baking soda and ground cinnamon in a medium sized mixing bowl. Mix together and set aside.
Pack the sugar when measuring, I use a teaspoon to pack it.
Add butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar to a medium sized mixing bowl. Using an electric hand mixer, cream the butter and sugars together.
Add vanilla extract and the egg…
and continue mixing with the electric mixer.
Add the dry ingredients in two batches and combine with a rubber spatula, don’t over mix.
The dough is ready for the chocolate chips.
Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips and stir into the cookie dough with a rubber spatula.
Spray heart shaped cookie cake pan with baking spray.
Pour cookie dough into the cookie cake pan.
Spray an offset spatula with baking spray and spread the dough out.
You don’t have to spread it all the way to the edge because it will spread when it bakes. I add the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
While the cookie cake is baking in the oven. Make the dark chocolate ganache frosting.
Add dark chocolate to a stainless steel mixing bowl.
Melt butter in a small sauce pan on your stove at low heat. Once it has melted, turn the heat to medium. Watch the butter carefully (don’t allow it to brown), when it starts to bubbling, turn your timer to one minute. Allow the butter to bubble for about a minute.
Then take the melted butter over the chocolate in the bowl. Let the chocolate sit for minutes, don’t stir it.
After the five minutes, stir with a rubber spatula until it’s completely mixed together and all of the chocolate is melted.
Let the chocolate sit and cool completely and set, about 45 minutes.
After the cookie cake has cooled. Place the chocolate frosting into a decorator bag and using a 1M tip, pipe stars on the edge of the cookie cake.
I pipe some more frosting onto each piece after I cut it, before serving.
The cookie is super soft because I use more brown sugar than granulated sugar! It’s so so good! You’ll need this heart-shaped cookie cake pan to make this recipe. You can also use a round cake pan, just be sure to spray it thoroughly with baking spray.
Recipe
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cook Time: 18 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes (includes inactive time)
Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of ground cinnamon
1 Stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup plus 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Dark Chocolate Ganache Frosting
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
6 Tablespoons unsalted butter
sprinkles (optional)
Directions:
Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Turn your oven on to 350 degrees F. Spray heart shaped cookie cake pan with baking spray.
Mix flour, salt, baking soda and ground cinnamon in a medium sized mixing bowl. Mix together and set aside.
Add butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar to a medium sized mixing bowl. Using an electric hand mixer, cream the butter and sugars together. Add vanilla extract and the egg and continue mixing.
Add the dry ingredients in two batches and combine with a rubber spatula, don’t over mix.
Add chocolate chips and stir into the cookie dough with a rubber spatula.
Pour cookie dough into the cookie cake pan. Spray an offset spatula with baking spray and spread the dough out. You don’t have to spread it all the way to the edge because it will spread when it bakes.
I add the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a couple of cookie cups comes out with crumbs.
Remove from the oven and place the cookie cake on a cooling rack and allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing. Allow to completely cool before decorating and cutting.
Dark Chocolate Ganache Frosting
Add to a decorator bag with a star tip. Add swirls of chocolate ganache to the edge of the cookie cake. You can add sprinkles after adding the swirls if you want!

From Lemon Cake To Chocolate Cream Pie: 15 Unforgettable Easter Desserts
04/15/2017 Jelly beans and chocolate bunnies are fine, but these Easter treats will make your holiday celebration unforgettable. From the lemoniest lemon pound cake to the silkiest chocolate cream pie, there is something on this list for everybunny.
Jennifer Segal, Contributor Chef, Cookbook Author
Jelly beans and chocolate bunnies are fine, but these Easter treats will make your holiday celebration unforgettable. From the lemoniest lemon pound cake to the silkiest chocolate cream pie, there is something on this list for everybunny.
1. Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake

If ever there was a cake for lemon lovers, this is it. Lemon zest and lemon juice are added to the batter, which lightly perfume the cake with lemon. After the cake is baked, it’s doused with lemon syrup and drizzled with a tart lemon glaze. GET THE RECIPE
2. Best Berry Trifle
This dazzling, delicious trifle can be made in under 30 minutes — just be sure to plan ahead as it needs to sit in the fridge at least 8 hours before serving. GET THE RECIPE
3. Chewy, Gooey Golden Rice Krispies Treats
Who doesn’t love Rice Krispies treats?! In this version, they’re toasty, caramel-y, salty and gooey. The secret ingredient? I’ll give you a hint: it starts with “golden” and ends with “grahams.” GET THE RECIPE
4. Classic Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Carrot cakes can be heavy and dense, but this one is light with a fine texture. The secret is finely chopping the carrots in a food processor rather than grating them. GET THE RECIPE
5. Banana Pudding Parfaits
Banana Pudding is an old-fashioned Southern dessert traditionally made with layers of Nilla wafers, vanilla pudding and sliced bananas. This gourmet version bucks tradition a bit, but still tastes wonderfully nostalgic and delicious. GET THE RECIPE
6. Ricotta Cheesecake with Raspberries

Inspired by the “Obsessive Ricotta Cheesecake” in Gina DePalma’s Dolce Italiano, Desserts from the Babbo Kitchen, this cheesecake is a hybrid between an American-style cheesecake and an Italian-style cheesecake. The tart sweetness of the raspberry topping is the perfect contrast to the cake, which isn’t overly sweet. GET THE RECIPE
7. Harvest Grape and Olive Oil Cake

Studded with juicy red grapes with hints of vanilla and citrus, this simple and lovely Italian-style cake is perfect for breakfast, brunch or tea. It’s called a “harvest cake” because it’s traditionally made during the grape harvest season to use up the small grapes not going for pressing. GET THE RECIPE
8. Warm Lemon Pudding Cakes

Spoon into these lovely little cakes and discover a delightful surprise: the batter magically separates while baking into a fluffy cake atop a luscious lemon pudding. They have all the tart-sweet flavor of a lemon pie with none of the fuss, and they make a wonderful light dessert. GET THE RECIPE
9. Vanilla Buttermilk Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
These cute little cakes are easy to whip up for a party. The buttermilk adds a subtle, pleasant tang and also keeps the cupcakes moist. GET THE RECIPE
10. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Just mention chocolate and peanut butter and people will feel giddy. This pie — with a chocolate crust, creamy peanut butter filling and chocolate ganache topping — lives up to the hype. GET THE RECIPE
11. Latin Flan

Flan, also known as crème caramel, is a rich, sweet custard topped with caramel sauce. In Latin America, it’s made with sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk, giving it an ultra-creamy, luxurious texture — almost like a cross between pudding and cheesecake. GET THE RECIPE
12. Raspberry Jam Bars
Sweet, tart and gooey, these bars are a happy marriage of blondies and raspberry jam. And they’re as good with your morning coffee as they are for dessert. GET THE RECIPE
13. Toffee Almond Sandies
These cookies may look plain but when you bite into them, you discover a buttery and sweet shortbread studded with melted toffee bits and crunchy almonds—they’re just wonderfully good. GET THE RECIPE
14. Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp
One of the easiest and best desserts I know: tart rhubarb and sweet strawberries bubbling away in their own juices beneath a crunchy oat streusel topping. Serve warm out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. GET THE RECIPE
15. Chocolate Cream Pie

With a dark chocolate cookie crust, silky chocolate pudding center and generous whipped cream topping, this pie a chocolate lover’s dream. GET THE RECIPE

Add to a decorator bag with a star tip. Add swirls of chocolate ganache to the edge of the cookie cake. You can add sprinkles after adding the swirls if you want!

From Lemon Cake To Chocolate Cream Pie: 15 Unforgettable Easter Desserts

This dazzling, delicious trifle can be made in under 30 minutes — just be sure to plan ahead as it needs to sit in the fridge at least 8 hours before serving. GET THE RECIPE
