One of my favorite tropes of all time is when the biggest, scariest, most powerful character is not taken seriously at all by their friends. Like this character could snap your neck without trying, but everyone around them is constantly tormenting them and picking on them and putting them in ridiculous clothes. Amazing. A+. You ever just crank out three OC refs in two weeks because the hyperfocus is so strong

Granted I have five XCOM OCs at this point but one of them dies with just the standard in-game design and more importantly these are the three I'm hoping to get ArtFight attacks for lmao

So! Bond, I've drawn her a lot. Cargo, not as much, but I've finally gotten the hang of her combat uniform so that helps. Less so her X2 design which is barely different from the in-game Warden Armor but eh fight me

Echi is, as you can see, very different from the canon Berserker. The idea for Echidna is that she was captured during EU/EW, by Cargo, back when Berserkers weren't sent out into combat naked. Moreover, Echi is the first of the alien captives to choose to trust and aid humans, and is the whole reason Cargo escapes HQ with her life; and drags Bond, along with those two other OCs, out with her. So once X2 rolls around Echi gets unique armour taking reference from the Warden Armor, the original EU/EW Berserker armour, and a bit of the Elite Muton armour. Her scarring comes from while she was still on the invaders' side.

Also by the time X2 rolls around, Cargo and Echi are married

We're not talking enough about one of the greatest romantic set-ups of all time: meeting two people who are deeply in love, even married, absolutely entranced by one another

and then going into a flashback where you find out they fucking could not stand each other at the jump.

Like fuck enemies to lovers, forget the long-haul of "maybe eventually they'll respect each other". Start me at the finish. Show me the adoration, the mutual respect, the unguarded affection, and then show me how she thought her wife was the biggest pain in the ass when first they met. I eat that shit up every time. Truly hilarious. Dad-with-unasked-for-cat energy up in this bitch.

#the problem with so many enemies-to-lovers stories is that you don't see ANY reason these people care about each other half the time #you just get 'i dunno hot i guess?' and it's boring as hell #whereas when you already know they've got this bedrock relationship and then you find out they were SO grumpy about the other person #it's somehow just a delight #the flashbacks for kima and allura in tlvom did a version of this and it made me so happy #we don't have to wait with bated breath to see if they're ever going to treat each other with admiration #cuz we know them that way from page one #it's just a matter of seeing the journey in reverse instead of being like 'is this...ever going to be...worth caring about?'

What if Merlin just gave Hammie a gun? (No ship stuff just chaos and silliness)

Well I do believe that is incredibly in character for Merlin to get a gun then give it to Hammie. But on one hand, I'm not sure if Hammie would use the gun as opposed to the good old wizard classic Fireball. If she runs out of magic maybe she'll whip out the gun and then the enemies will have to reassess themselves a little because now they are fighting a magic hamster who has a gun, which also gives her time to shoot.

On the other hand, I can imagine Hammie trying to reconfigure the gun to cast more fireball, which will probably create more problems than they solve.
