Crackship idea I shared with my friends a week ago but never actually posted anything about: Harper/xxXShadowl0rd420Xxx

Hear me out on this! Shortly after Harper and Dirk break up, Harper explores the house, trying to find herself again and make friends and proper connections with others. It doesn't go as well as she thought, what with nearly everyone else knowing about her explosive attitude and toxic personality on account of arguing with Dirk every night and day. Defeated, she goes to sit in a corner of the house near the globe and stumbles upon Shadowlord.

Harper ends up confiding in him in hopes of making a friend, meanwhile Shadowlord listens attentively, hearing her out fully, knowing just how hard it is to move on after something like this. Harper recovers and improves as a person, allowing herself to be a better version of herself, while Shadowlord makes a new friend out of Harper, eventually opening up to her about his past and his true self — Skips. Eventually, after a while of getting to know one another, they fall in love.

I just think Harper deserves a chance to change and be a better person than she once was, and I think befriending Skips would be a good move for her.

Striders & Lalondes style headcanons

Roxy and dirk was a lot more simple than the rose and Dave mostly because of the stupid swirly shit on roses bag + skirt

I am a scene kid irl and I LOVE the thought of a scene dirk strider + him with green hair (idk why) so that’s what I did.

With Roxy I normally think of like some y2k BADDIE yet I can see her like just being super lazy with outfits. Also I can’t rlly see with piercings. Maybe a belly button one or maybe a side nose ring but like yk.

I know most people headcanons Rose to be Goth but I see her more as a hippie. It just like seems more like her if u understand where I’m coming from. Though she’d probably be a huge poser with it I still like the thought.

With I get most Dave headcannons but like when I look at him all I see is like scene kid and edgar kid. YKWIM? Like he’d have like emo side bleached hair yet still wear baggie clothes like how I made dirk have his baggie too.

genuine question about ectobiology: do the kids have fucked up fingerprints? thinking about that one ‘do they have a belly button?’ post and my friend asking me if rose could have fetal alcohol syndrome had me thinking about being lab babies might have fucked up the kids’ theoretical fetus development. i think it would make them all have a tendency towards ridges and away from loops in kinda of reverse of the normal statistics since i don’t think they’d get the chance to bump into other things while in early development since the womb thing is negated.

if you have any answers or theories please lmk i like thinking about the subtle way the homestuck kids are just slightly weird.

i got super ill about the homestuck kids’ accents and wrote a whole thing

john: your stereotypical american accent that one thinks of, californian but diluted basically. says you guys a lot. pronounces wash kind of like warsh. also sometimes uses weirdly formal language, like television instead of TV, refrigerator instead of fridge, even automobile instead of car - dad’s fault. trained himself out of it cause he thought it was embarrassing, but slips up sometimes.

rose: somewhat of a transatlantic accent, including the speech patterns. picked it up from old tv shows and movies because she didn’t want to sound like roxy-mom (who has a thick mixture of a new york/boston/rhode island accent). but growing up with roxy-mom, she has a bit of that accent too - so it’s this weird mixture of 30% stereotypical American, 50% transatlantic, 20% boston accent. 

dave: texan accent, courtesy of dirk!bro, who spoke in the most stereotypical drawling texan accent ever. as he got older he started to think it wasn’t cool, so he started masking it, but it’s still there. gets stronger when he expresses emotion or when he forgets to mask it. gratuitous use of the word y’all. doesn’t say it over text but it’s a habit in real life. drops g’s at the end of words, like singin’, fuckin’, etc.

jade: obviously had no outside contact with other people other than with grandpa, so she has a slight british accent - kept up with learning to talk by watching youtube videos, so the accent isn’t very strong. also, even before going god tier, had weird canine vocalizations picked up from bec, like growling, whining, even sometimes howling, etc.

jane: very similar to john’s, but sounds…older? not transatlantic, but similar to late 19th century-early 20th century accents, with song-like intonation and faint r’s. heavy emphasized consonants and slight vowel merging with e and i, such that pen and pin sound virtually the same. all in all, what you’d imagine a canadian from the 1800s talks like. 

roxy: the goddamn heaviest stereotypical new york accent ever. a weird super heavy mix of queens and staten island accent she learned entirely for shits and giggles, and also to annoy rose-mom. not very nasally though, unless she’s trying to annoy someone on purpose. a lot of the word like thrown in. doesn’t say it over text, but it’s a habit irl. 

dirk: the flattest most unplaceable standard american accent ever, apart from a hint of a texan accent. learned to talk from the internet and robots, but when he was very young used to repeatedly watch videos that dave!bro left for him and programmed around the house. dave!bro had a heavy texan accent, which is where he picked that up from. drops g’s at the end of words, like singin’, fuckin’, etc.

jake: really heavy, stereotypically posh british accent that sounds like what an american thinks a british person sounds like. but he’s 100% genuine about it and there’s no real explanation for why he does it, other than the fact that when he was very young he used to repeatedly watch grandma’s favorite movies - old british movies. now it’s just a habit and he can’t be trained out of it.

Okayyy ouroboros !!! - but on a real note, technology has only aided in my emotional confinement. Google photos likes to show pictures from years i don’t remember, filled with people who have faded from my life. I don’t want to see videos of my ex girlfriend giggljng at my cat, but i am happy to have experienced it once. I only needed to be in that memory once, why does it come back every year, every other month, or every couple weeks ?

I think people are crippled by their emotions in a sense, we live to feel through replication. If we know something will make us happy once, why not try for a second time ? Even happy emotions seem to be manufactured and cluttered with nostalgic ideals, and the cycle starts again when faced with a slight deviation from old memories.
