On one hand, Young Justice is kind of neglected by the actual superheroes that should be looking out for them in a lot of crucial ways and very much failed by the adults around them

But on the other hand Red Tornado straight up hosts a parent-teacher conference where their respective legal guardians all show up, barring Batman who’s in traffic so Nightwing fills in instead because Robin’s dad does not know he’s a vigilante which is objectively hilarious

So, I wanted to combine the absolutely insane shenanigans fandom has yj getting into in space for months at a time with the fact that actually none of their guardians are as terrible/neglectful as they seem based on their absence from the narrative. (It's just that there are No Adults Allowed in the kids' book. They couldn't make them all orphans in the grand tradition of kids' fiction everywhere, so they just ignored the adults when convenient.)

Which means I need a way for them to spend months in space without anyone knowing, but also not have them absent long enough to ring any alarm bells.

Solution: take full advantage of the fact that time is Messed Up in comics. (7+ Christmases in 3-4 years anyone? One year time skip where not everyone ages a full year?) YJ can be in space for 8 months and it's only, let's go with two weeks, for their guardians.

Mind you: THEY STILL DON'T TELL ANYONE!

So you can get the scene years later where it's like:

JL: How do you know that alien race/language/solar system/interstellar legal code? Why are you citizens/married/ambassadors/boogiemen/deities on this random planet?

YJ: We spent 8 months hitchhiking. Stuff went down.

JL: ...there are no 8 month gaps unaccounted for. The longest we can come up with was two weeks, four if you're all really good at faking things.

YJ: Oh yeah, time's broken.

JL: Time's... broken...?

YJ: Time's broken.

Tango said it and I could not get the idea out of my head… are they rivals? Are they enemies? Who knows! Anywho, here is my take on Flashfreeze (that’s what we’re calling him, right?) and Impulse, who would presumably have an alias that has something to do with his techy teleporting powers. In my brain the gauntlets allow him to search, put in chords, map, contact people, and other place and space related things, that allow him to more quickly teleport.

Abby potentially could have OCD. Hear me out. It's not because 'she's organized'. It's because I'm fairly sure Abby has some form of anxiety, and the way it expresses itself in her life appears to be rigid behavior patterns. Now, there's not enough evidence to be any kind of certain, but enough to give me pause.

Abby can be extremely obsessive. We know that. She spent 4 years anxiously and obsessively dedicating as much time to preparing to kill Joel as possible. Her revenge isn't just different from Ellie's because it took longer, but because Ellie, for all her rage, wouldn't have spent those four years never missing a single day of training and getting as Jacked as possible.

Abby's mind convinced her that Joel was some kind of almost superhuman monster that only a beast of a person could take down. And missing a single day of training could ruin her efforts, or maybe even get them kicked out of the WLF. Spending any kind of significant time not thinking about her dad and revenge left her feeling guilty and wrong.

She also does seem weirdly particular about her room set up: not caring about the dishes, and yet having to have other things exactly in their place, looking for all the world, the perfect soldier. She doesn't just not miss a day of training, she has a whole schedule she likely spent a lot of time obessively creating and never wavers from.

But Yara, that's just discipline.

True, it very well could be. But Abby is shown to be much more anxious than any of the other person in her life, in a number of ways. And sure, it could be that she is surrounded by a bunch of reckless people, but that just might be making it more noticeable. And I'm not just talking about her fear of heights. There are multiple moments with her dad, where she tries to talk him out of doing things she considers dangerous. Flashback Owen's actions scare her. Mel's actions scare her. Manny is absolutely less anxious than her point blank, as is Lev.

We've seen how well Abby functions through horrific fear, so the idea that she has many more problems with anxious, intrusive thoughts than she lets on? Not so crazy. Anxiety doesn't completely paralyze Abby, but that doesn't mean it doesn't impact her life in significant ways.

feeling like sharing an unpopular opinion (at least i feel like it is)... i don't think people knew about peeta's pre games crush on katniss. like their classmates or his brothers etc. really don't feel that was the situation at all. peeta wears his heart on his sleeve in the games as a weapon, not as part of genuine, unavoidable and uncontrollable vulnerability.

actually i think it's interesting that practically everyone's interpretation of valentino is that he has severe substance abuse issues & is high 50% of the time, when in the show he's shown disparagingly talking about addicts in a way that implies he doesn't see himself as one. and i'm not using "interesting" as a substitute for "oh boy do i fucking hate this" i just genuinely think it's fascinating. the juxtaposition of him looking down on addicts while refusing to acknowledge his own substance abuse problems is direly under explored and it's like, Right There. it's prime character study material

coleaders klance who have each others back whilst arguing til they're blue in the face. a dignitary from a planet watching keith and lance argue and lance says something and runs away before keith can rebut it which leaves him scowling. the dignitary seeing this as their way in with the black paladin and saddling up to him and complaining about lance. keith doing a complete 180, his eyes going yellow and his skin slowly shifting purple as he glares at the alien and the alien panics and is just like "haha sike hes actually really cool and amazing and i would do anything he asks ahahahaplsdontkillmehaha"

a dignitary finding out keith is galran and seeing klance argue so he goes to lance, the red paladin and second in line should anything happen to the black paladin, and insulting keith's heritage and implying that should lance stage a coup then he'd have whatever planet the random alien is from in his corner. lance pasting on a wide, faux smile and "soothing" the aliens fears/concerns about keith being galran by saying that if their planet doesnt want a galran to save them then voltron wont force them to join the coalition and they can fight the empire themselves. the alien freaking bc hello??? their planet against the might of the galran empire?? they'd be crushed!! and the alien is just like "i meant no offense im so sorry pls dont leave us for dead"

the funniest thing about robert is his consistent character flaw of acting on impulse and then being shocked about the consequences. like he hires a hitman to take out chas. only for chas to go: "i won't reveal your affair 'cause that would hurt my son." and robert's like, "you care about what happens to your son?" and is shocked when chas is like "yeah?" then he talks to aaron, who says, "i love my mom. i don't know what i'd do without her." and robert's like: "you couldn't cope if your mom died?" and aaron just looks at him like "well, yeah?" and then it cuts to robert running around in the dark trying to find mr. hitman like
