tips for regressors with periods!

keep your socks on, little one!
our feet are our temperature regulators! if your feet are warm, your body will be much warmer <3 being warm relaxes our muscles and promotes blood flow to lessen any pain!
try to sleep in a better position!
clutch a stuffie to your chest and sleep in the fetal position to reduce pressure on your back! or you can try to loaf like a kitty cat with a pillow under your chest and stomach!
drink warm beverages!
warm water is always a go-to, but there are yummier options too!
you can try ginger/chamomile/raspberry leaf tea (add honey to sweeten) if you like, or some warm angel milk <3 you can add a little bit of tumeric to your angel milk with a dash of cinnamon and the tiniest bit of black pepper to activate it (no, you can't taste the pepper! trust me!)
oh, and this is the perfect time to drink some hot chocolate as well! (try out dark chocolate if it isn't too bitter for you!)
please eat your fruits and veggies!
carrots, oranges, apples, mangoes, broccoli, spinach, sweet potatoes, beans, peas, and lentils are some good options to incorporate into your diet! try making a yummy smoothie or adding a new veggie to your dinners <3
use a heating pad (be careful)!
you can use an electric one if you have one, but here are some more afforadable options:
- use a hot water bottle or thermos
- make a small pouch out of fabric and make sure the ends are fully glued/sewn shut! fill it with uncooked rice and secure the last opening. warm it up in the microwave for about a minute and boom! a reusuable heating pad <3
- dampen a washcloth and put it in a plastic bag. warm it in the microwave for thirty seconds and use it on top of a blanket or your shirt if it's thick enough!
- (last resort option) my laptop gets really hot when i play the sims because i have sooo many mods hehe, but i just make sure there's a barrier between my skin and the laptop and it works as a heating pad! plus, i get to play my games comfortably
overnight pads and period diapers!
i know many people dislike overnight pads because of how bulky they are, but they are a good alternative if you don't have access to or dislike diapers! they are mostly mess free and you don't have to get up often in the middle of the night! they are also really comforting if you like a little bit of padding when regressed.
period diapers are always a good option! they can be worn under flowy skirts and dresses and aren't as noticeable as other types of diapers! they are really comfy too!
warm baths!
bring in your favorite toys, your bubbliest soaps, and your favorite tunes! just make sure your bathwater isn't too hot, okay? i recommend adding a little bit of coconut oil into the water to make your skin super soft!
if you are experiencing dry skin or have eczema, try an oat bath! you can use a food processor to ground up oats so they dissolve in the water, or you can pack some oats into a clean sock/tights, tie off the end, and let it soak in the water!

Breakfast of Champions
Since the Paralympic Games have begun today, and I'm excitedly watching sports I already followed and discovering new ones, like goal ball (it's gripping as!); I find myself energised and wont to go to the park for my rugby practise or lifting weights at home whilst watching the athletes perform on telly! In any case, what's needed is a Breakfast of Champions, a nutrious meal to start the day well, and keep you going (and cheering) all day long! Happy Thursday!

Golden Tumeric Milk..
DESCRIPTION
Turmeric and ginger are superheros when it comes to fighting inflammation. They are also really good for warming up your insides on a cold night, which is when you’ll find me sipping on this drink. I know the black pepper may seem strange, but it’s essential for the efficacy of the turmeric. If the turmeric flavor is too strong for you, feel free to start with less and work up to as much as you can tolerate.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 teaspoonground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 cup canned full-fat coconut milk
1 tablespoon raw honey
1 tablespoon organic virgin coconut oil
INSTRUCTIONS
In a small saucepan, combine the turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and ginger.
Whisk in the coconut milk, honey, and oil.
Heat over medium heat for 5 minutes, until very hot but not boiling.
Pour into a blender and carefully blend on low until frothy.
NOTES
GLUTEN FREE, NUT FREE, VEGAN (use maple syrup), DAIRY FREE

Bought myself a new water bottle since the last one broke. It's got a cute soft cover with a llama on it and the word pyjama above it.
I really needed it tonight since my muscle spasms have been bad, having a fibro flare is never fun but the heat helps.
Also being cosy and playing one of my favourite visual novel games helps too (even if it is on my wife's super old laptop lol).
Though someone drank the last white hot chocolate so I added some honey, cinnamon, ginger, tumeric, etc to my warm oat milk and water.
The drink paired nicely with the soan papdi, which is so sweet and flakey, it melts in your mouth.
It's a nice treat I picked up when I was at my mum's since her local store has a larger section for international groceries.
Though everything is nice and I'm all cosy on the pet bed, I can't wait for our new couch to arrive getting up and down from/to the floor is a lot on my poor aching body rn.

When she appeared at my door, I was quite surprised. She was based off myself in many ways. Based off my family, and what I grew up knowing. I recognized her nervous hands as they fiddled with her sleeves. I saw my blood in her straw-like hair. The various shades of yellows and browns, dry and straight as the leftover stalks in the field after the tractor has done its job.
I welcomed her into my home, my face sombre. I knew she recognized me, for she had found me after all. But I looked nothing like I did then. I had finally found the energy and courage to cut off the long-straw hair of my family. Hoping to free myself from the shackles of my past. I had dyed it a fiery red to distance myself from my blood and symbolize my passion to fight. I had gotten my tattoo covered completely. Then I ran out of energy from hacking away at the ties of my family burdens while carrying the weight of my trauma and health. I lost my muscles, I put on much weight, my skin and hair was unkempt and I wore my pajamas all day now. I used to take pride in my well fitting and classy attire.
"Come, I'll make tea for us. You can wash the cups while I get the water ready." She doesn't know what to expect in social situations. Neither do I, most of the time. She had likely fretted over this encounter so much that her chest feels like an overheated lava lamp. I show her how the hot and cold words on the tap, the soap, and let her wash the mugs. I know she'll wash all the dishes just to keep her hands busy. I need the dishes washed, they've been haunting me. She needs her hands busy, and this makes her feel helpful.
"I haven't forsaken you, kiddo." I clarify as the hot water sputters into the tea pot. "I'm human too. I'm fail-able." I wish I could speak in pretty words, the fluent poetic fashion my writing takes. I wish I didn't stammer when I speak. That I didn't struggle with certain sounds. That my mouth didn't superimpose the wrong sounds when I tried to speak without careful thought and long pauses.
She looks at me, her face is tensed in a way that's hard to read. If she weren't neurodivergent, I'd say she was frustrated. But she is based upon myself. That face likely means she is just thinking and overthinking, and rethinking the meaning of the words I've spoken. The dishes are clean. That's one huge lumbering chore off my list.
"You don't write about us anymore. You were so happy to write about us back then. You had so many, you even wrote stories you didn't like just to practice writing us more. You had a plan for us, things were happening, and then you just stopped!" Her words are still stumbling and clumsy, but far more fluent and graceful than my own. Her words are made for writing. My words are for speaking. We speak different languages, even if it's still English. I find that interesting. A ding signifies the electric kettle is done. I pull out the wobbly kitchen chairs and turn to my "barista" station.
"What type of tea would you like? I've got a lot of choices. They all have health stuff too. The apple cider one has tumeric for my joints, the lemon has zinc and other shit to help with colds and immune systems. I have a fruity one for vitamin C that tastes more like hot juice, my favourite is the spicy one, it has ginger for my stomach! Or maybe mint and horseradish? It clears your nasal cavity like a dream!" Of course she stares at me, just like I didn't have many options as a kid, I hadn't given her many options in her early story. I grab my "default" tea for her. Red rose, an orange pekoe that was common growing up. It was often in the pre-made meals my dad got from his work, so we'd have them piled up in the cupboard. It can get really strong really fast, so I steep it and remove it for her before presenting the mug and a jar of honey.
"Here, this was my favourite when I was a kid. Let me know if it's not sweet enough, I'll give you more honey. Or if it makes your mouth feel all dry and icky, that means it needs milk." She is obviously baffled now, she didn't expect me to be like this. So personable, normal, not godlike in any way. She hesitates before sniffing the tea, it's still too hot to sip for her.
"Now, you want to know why I don't write anymore." I hum, starting off with the tone my dad used to use when telling me stories of the grown-up world. I sit back in the wobbly chair, I hate these fucking chairs, and I just enjoy the warm cup in my hands.
"Man, these chairs are squeaky. The screws need to be tightened." I shift and set my drink down, getting back up. I go to rummage through the drawer tools are frequently kept in. It's a fucking mess.
"Ugh, this drawer needs to be dumped and cleaned." I go to the sink and open the cupboard beneath to pull out a wide low bucket I have to take everything out of it first though. When I finally pull the damn thing out, I look back at the drawer. "I guess I could put all that crap in here to sort it. But I really don't want to scrub that drawer right now. And I'd have to buy a toolbox for all those loose bits." I groan and shake my head, setting the bucket on the cluttered counter. I start moving handfuls of stuff that's not a screwdriver into the bucket. My tea is getting cold.
"Uhm..." She looks so confused, I move from being on topic to off topic so much. She just wants to know why I'm not writing about her anymore. She wants me to pick her back up and grow her life and story. She doesn't want to be forgotten. I start moving pens onto the placemat she sits at, then give her a piece of paper.
"Here, test these pens and see if they work. You have to scribble circles to loosen them up." I demonstrate the pens to her before continuing the drawers chaos. She starts helping, struggling to try and communicate with me. I'm not making it easy. I don't find a screwdriver, I sit at the table and start sorting the items in the bucket into categories based on where I want to put them.
"I hate junk drawers, so fucking messy." I'm admittedly getting a little worked up now, I do have a plan for a change, but I am kind of going by ear with this. Thankfully she stops me before I have a chance to get frustrated and dump everything back in the drawer. My next plan was to dust the chairs, insist on sweeping, then end up scrubbing the floor.
"Why aren't you answering my question?" She asks, and I look at her dead in the eyes. My eyes feel dead.
"This is a small example of me every day. There are endless chores and tasks and things to be done. I have no energy to do them. I feel sick and tired all the time. There's bigger things I need to do, I can't keep track of everything. When I can't sit down and just have a cup of tea because I have to fix every problem and make every decision to do so, I don't even have the brain power left over to go online. Never mind write. I don't have the brain power to take care of myself, the energy to get the help I need. Everything around me feels chaotic and stressful. I haven't forsaken you, I'm just a fucking mess."
She stares at me in bewilderment. I'm supposed to be her creator. I'm supposed to be god, perfect, the creator, the planner, the one who creates fate. I sigh softly, feeling bad for her.
"I do love you, and I think of you a lot. But my life is so chaotic and busy. I can't create until I have the help I need to function. And that help isn't available to me. But that doesn't mean I've forsaken you. You are a part of me." I smile to her, offering my hand to her as a comfort gesture. She's awkward and confused about it, but once I hold her hand I give it a reassuring squeeze.
"You exist in little ways all around me. I promise, I'll come back one day."
You open the door and see a woman you recognise immediately: she’s the lead character of a novel you wrote years ago. And abandoned halfway. “Why did you forsake me?”

Is lemon tea good for diabetes?
This article is originally published on Freedom from Diabetes website, available here. Tea is a most imporatant in Indian culture, their day is not start without tea. There are many types in tea. Black tea, milk tea, green tea, herbal tea etc. India is the world’s second-largest producer of tea, and the largest tea-drinking nation, with over 60% of its 138 crore population being tea drinkers. There are many benefits to drinking tea. Teas are anti-inflammatory and have been shown to boost one’s immunity system, as well as help prevent clogged arteries and heart disease, and even cancer. For diabetics, there are certain drawbacks to be reckoned with. Most pressingly, sweetening the tea with sugar or honey, as most people do, will affect blood sugar regulation, and worsen one’s condition. The addition of milk to tea again, a common way of drinking tea also decreases the insulin-sensitizing property of tea.

Tea benefits for diabetics
Diabetics should have herbal tea. Without added sugar and milk teas help to lowering blood sugar and improving the body’s sensitivity to insulin. There is no shortage of variety from which to make one's choice. For example, green tea has been shown to reduce inflammation as well as help control blood sugar levels.
As does black tea and chamomile, the latter of which also protects the body from oxidative stress. Or, if one prefers one’s teas sweetened, they may opt for cinnamon tea. Hibiscus tea has also been shown to reduce insulin resistance.
And if you are overwhelmed by choices or a little bit lost, don’t worry. "Diabliss’s herbal lemon teas" are as good a place as any to start. If the lemon flavor doesn’t work for you, you can choose from a variety of flavors including ginger, masala chai, and, of course, lemon.
Lemon Herbal teas flavored with lemon juice can lead to reduced glucose synthesis and thus, reduced blood sugar levels. Lemon juice is able to fight inflammation, a common trigger for insulin resistance.
In addition to lemon other ingredients found in Diabliss’ Herbal Diabetes-Friendly Teas include pomegranate, black pepper, fenugreek, ginger, turmeric, and amla.
Pomegranate Pomegranate have a Glycemic Load of 18, and to contain compounds such as punicalagin, which have anti-diabetes effects.
Fenugreek Fenugreek, has ability to lower blood sugar levels and is a staple in the kitchen as a vegetable and the seeds are a robust condiment.
Tumeric Tumeric, or Haldi, as it is known across the Indian sub-continent, is another BSL regulating spice, in Diabliss’s herbal lemon tea. Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory. If your grandmother made you apply Haldi powder to your bruises and scrapes, she was spot on! Ginger, meanwhile, when consumed in moderation, can help regulate insulin production.
Amla Amla, along with keeping blood sugar under control, also promotes healthy weight loss and strengthens the immune system.
To conclude, while the tea comes with a great many benefits, it is not necessarily the best option for those with diabetes. However, herbal teas, are a good alternative, and going by customer reviews Diabliss can be said to be a healthy and tasty substitute.

Character Intro: Telete (Kingdom of Ichor)

My Light by her mother
Tee-Tee by her family
Age- 13 (immortal)
Location- Hearthwood neighborhood, New Olympus
Personality- The "baby" in her group of cousins, she's sweetly innocent, sheltered, & unassuming. She's wholeheartedly focused in the potential of good in all beings.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. She shares abilities with her family members like limited photokinesis, ambrosia manipulation, having an eidetic memory, and blessing bestowment. Her other ability is vitakinesis (healing).
Telete is the only child of Ikesía, the youngest of The Litae. The both of them live at their house in the Hearthwood neighborhood of New Olympus. Her bedroom is in pastel hues of pink, lavender, silver, & mint. Framed inspirational quotes are posted all over the walls along with posters of her favorite deities she holds in high esteem. There's also string lights strewn decoratively about.
Her mom's griffin gave birth to three fledglings some time back and before they were scheduled to be adopted, Telete had her pick of one to be her animal companion. She went with the runt of the litter- a boy she named Bronzequill. When the mom was unable to nurse, Telete took on the responsibility, feeding him every three hours. She smiles at how fast he's grown- his strong hind legs & impressive shriek of a roar! In just a couple of years, Bronzequill may be large enough for her to ride!
A go-to drink for her is white grape juice. She also likes the banana pudding milkshakes from The Frozen Spoon, ginger ale, lemon-lime soda, mint infused sparkling water, apple juice, and lychee juice. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean ia a medium iced green tea & a large coconut lychee splash.
There's a simple gold pearl pendant necklace (gifted to her by her mom) which she always wears.
Telete describes her personal style as "glamour doll preppy." Her closet is filled with conservatively minded printed tennis skirts, oversized cardigan sweaters, mary janes, ballet flats, tweed jackets, pastel colors, and chic peasant sleeved tops.
She loves her long thick curls! Her favorite products to use is the Glory's Crown marshmallow & babassu oil whipped curl creme and the Hairology 2-in-1 coconut milk & tumeric shampoo/conditioner.
Telete & her mom have a very close relationship. On saturday (a day before church), she'll surprise her mom with breakfast in bed. They'll end up spending the entire day in bed- knitting, sewing, reading, and watching wholesome family films. Even though Telete feels like she can talk to her mom about almost anything, there's a secret or two she keeps under lock & key.
Her relationship with the rest of the family are fairly ok. She sometimes feels like the odd one out when she hangs out with her cousins Epidotes (god of purity) and Pompe (goddess of rites) beacuse of the fact that they're closer. Telete does like her aunt Lití's homemade sourdough bread.
She loves wearing the LipCalm tinted lip balm in "watermelon summer."
A typical breakfast for her is a bowl of vanilla spice oatmeal topped with plain yogurt, crushed walnuts, & chopped pecans. She also likes a bowl of Earthly Harvest honey o's cereal.
Within the family business, Telete's usually the errand girl- whether it's looking through the extensive record of scrolls, going for a coffee run, or getting paper orders from Chartí & Meláni, the stationery store owned by Philyra (goddess of perfume, paper, & beauty).
A guilty pleasure of hers are the extra crispy chicken wings from Olympic Chef- the crispier, the better! She'll treat herself to an order of 10 wings every other week, preferring to eat them with no sauce.
Telete's on break from school. She attends the same school in the city as her cousins & she's an exceptional student! She's even the student council secretary. The "Drool Crew" nickname does hurt a bit, but she tries not to let it get to her. She's friendly with Pandia (goddess of the full moon), Achelois (goddess of the moon & comfort), Philia (goddess of friendship), and is even courteous towards Anaideia (goddess of ruthlessness, shamelessness, & unforgiveness) even if it's not always reciprocated. Other godly students include Thespios (god of acting), Dysis (goddess of the sunset), E.B, Krysothemis (Kristy), Deucalion, and Thrasos (god of boldness, insolence, recklessness, & courage). She's also friends with Calocagathia (Aggie) (goddess of nobility & goodness)- even spending time outside of school where they can be more free & laidback.
Her favorite sandwich is the grilled chicken caprese panini from The Bread Box.
Telete's favorite book series is The Daughters of Corinth (an adult historical romance)- with her favorite book being Desires of a Wallflower, which follows the love story of shy & studious Charlotte and the rakish, but secretly sensitive Sinclair. Her mom was able to buy them for her because Telete told a little white lie and said that the books were for her creative writing class. She has buddy read the last one with Aggie. They were both ecstatic to find out that a TV show adaptation of the books were in the works!
Her all time favorite dessert from Hollyhock's Bakery is the banana pudding cheesecake!
In the pantheon Telete also admires & looks up to Hestia (goddess of the hearth), Nephele (goddess of clouds), Soteria (goddess of safety), Paregoros (goddess of soothing words), Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness), Arete (goddess of virtue, valor, & excellence), Elpis (goddess of hope), Aletheia (goddess of truth), Homonoia (goddess of concord), and Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith).
The biggest secret that Telete's been keeping from her family is that she has a boyfriend! She's been talking to Zale, a merguy who moved from the Underwater realm (who's also a student) for a few weeks. They first struck up a conversation during a school assembly when they were randomly seated together and things picked up from there when it was also discovered that they shared the same study hall period. Telete remembers everything about her first kiss with him- the way he moved a lock of her hair behind her ear, the way he smelled of aftershave and seaweed, the attractive way he licked his lips, & how he lightly traced her bottom lip with his thumb before moving in. Telete likes the fact that he's a "good boy with a bad boy aesthetic"- leather jacket, piercing dark blue eyes, and long black hair with the sides of his head shaved. Zale's also a total gentlemen- holding out doors for her and carrying her books if no one's paying attention to them. Because of the school's rumor mill (and other reasons), their relationship is on the down low. They try not to even exchange glances with each other while at school. The only free time they have to see each other is during study hall, where Zale found a blindspot in one of the staircases! Their first official date was at the movie theater after Telete left her class at Kyría Aristeía under the guise that she was running an errand for Eusebeia.
Her other extracurriculars include volunteering at the Psomí & Zoí soup kitchen. Telete calls herself the supreme master at cutting off the crusts on the moussaka sandwiches.
She's well aware that her mom is looking through candidates for her for a "possible coupling" when she's older.
Telete's favorite music artists to listen to include Pale Blu, Aoide (goddess of voice & song), and The Gypsy Belles.
On her smartphone, Zale's contact is saved under the name "Amalia."
Some of Telete's favorite dishes to cook are green bean casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, and white rice with okra stew.
In her free time she enjoys bike riding, gardening, yoga, knitting, cooking, doing lanyard, reading, and spending time with family.
"Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul."

for reference i rarely ever make tea, and usually only do so when i have canker sores (so i can get boiled tea leaves but not waste the tea water itself). i also decided in my genius to put cinnamon and milk in this tea. and some of my mom's honey*
but it was still too hot to drink so i just put in a spoonful of vanilla ice cream. since theres already milk in there
*honey with "ginger, tumeric, cinnamon, black pepper, and clove". this made the tea unexpectedly spicy
guy who just put blue-lemon syrup into their yellow chamomile tea: I've done it...I have made Green Tea
