This is making me shit laugh. “Doesn’t correlate with canon”. Dawg the only canonical romance/relationships we see Leon engage with in CANON is flirting with random women or slinging for a hookup. And fucking Ada. Who outside of kissing when she was using him he let blue ball him.

Re4r is atm the only re game Leon doesn’t flirt with random women in.

I feel like, no shade to anybody, but the sheer amount of people posting these sorta takes have collectively decided fanfiction/fanon interpretations of these characters are canonical — If you want a male re character who isn’t promiscuous … maybe go w Chris? Or Carlos? Hell even William Birkin. Birkin canonically was married and had a family with his coworker.

Leon is notably depicted as promiscuous, he’s the poster boy for a male-oriented video game. You guys have red tinted glasses on. Capcom isn’t gonna make Leon Kennedy a sweet lover boy, they’re gonna make him however the American male audience will best enjoy. Which is a badass promiscuous agent.

It’s a survival horror game. From a company. Making games for men. Not shoujo.

love how tumblr's demographics stats are just as broken as the rest of the website. zero useable information

#honestly can't even begin to think of how you'd get an accurate random sample of tumblr user demographics #you'd think you could just blaze a link to a survey #but -among MANY other issues- there is the problem of 'active hostility of the userbase towards its own platform'#at best no one will respond and at worst it becomes a vanilla extract situation overnight

the gaza scams are so bleak and depressing they're only getting worse and more obvious, they have every big blogger guilt tripped into reblogging these obvious scams (youll literally see these scammers in the comments of their posts yelling at them for not responding to their 9000 dms fast enough) and you can't say anything to suggest that maybe there's something a little fishy with all of these identical chatgpt generated color coded flashy emoji heavy posts or youre the bad guy so its actually very hard to feel bad for a lot of the people falling for and spreading the scam bcs they get so righteous about how much better they are than you

#like its half targeting the worst people on the website and the best who really just .......cant see the obvious tells of a scam #and are like very sensitive to the cruelties of the world and just want to help #i really do suspect it's only like a couple of ''teams'' and many. many. many. many. sockpuppet accounts #ok i get why the tumblr userbase cant really pick up on it but why tf dont staff care. why dont staff try and stop this problem feels like #they could very easily put some filtering thru the askbox

fr tho @staff why are you trying to make tumblr more like other sites why are you destroying your niche in the market please there have got to be ways to make tumblr more accessible to new users without sacrificing the very things that your existing userbase loves

#its a genuine problem... I have had friends sign up for tumblr and then not use it because they dont know how to navigate non-algorithmic sm #but come on. there have got to be ways to build up the onboarding process so that people learn how to search for blogs + content #and/or ways to create separate contained algorithmic feeds OR to create the option to turn the algorithmic feed off like it is rn #and honestly I do think tumblr's focus should be more on 'how do we convince people non-algorithmic is good'#rather than 'how do we become algorithmic'#there's gotta be a whole angle in there right??? something like emphasizing that on tumblr you find the content YOU want #not the content we want you to want #also the whole thing about drawing in new creators. have they talked to existing creators??????? bc I dont know that they want algorithms #i dont know I just think tumblr will never be able to do the algorithm better than sites like FB or tik tok or even twitter #so if they try to become algorithmic they will fail to meet the standards of new users AND they will drive away the existing userbase #its a bad look. this is your niche. play to it. thats marketing 101

This new mobile update where you have to tap add tags an additional time to be able to type your own tags is fucking awful

like i can't even imagine wanting to rehab that site or using it to make a point about how other websites are also bad. like you don't need to rehabilitate 4chan to point out facebook or tumblr has bad policies you literally do not ever need to do that

#venus.txt #be real. the biggest unique problems i see there are self-directed fatphobia disguised as 'being healthy' and how the aggressively #algorithmic nature of the app affects peoples perception of real life #and a good bit of overconsumption (but most of what ends up on my fyp related to that is ppl denouncing it)#people arent like. illiterate and unfunny and inconsiderate and mean and brain dead by default #just because they use an extremely popular social media app #obviously i cant (and wouldnt try to) speak for the entire userbase. its called a 'for you page' for a reason #but i dont think its fair to look at the problems something has and think #'everyone who uses that is lesser than me. im too smart to fall into that trap'#some comparisons that come to mind are cults and propaganda. you are not immune (to the algorithm)

it's happened a bunch of times now where I'll complain about goodreads or libby (or even storygraph lol) and someone will say "oh just use storygraph" so I guess people don't know that I do in fact use storygraph? but i do very much use storygraph. About the same amount I use goodreads. It does some things better, and some things worse, and I certainly don't use it to its full potential, but I DO use it

#bookbird babbles #no hate its just occurred to me i dont really talk about it so people probably dont know #i dont love it but whatever #i think its catalogue is small which makes sense given its relative newness #but i signed up for the beta lol ive been here from the start #id say i use goodreads more only because its easier to grab cover photos for blog posts lol #and i never figured out star ratings on storygraph and now im stubborn about it #(i did figure it out but i dont feel like going back and adding stars)#(maybe i will feel like it)#also the userbase is smaller so i feel like the ratings arent as accurate #which isnt to say GR IS accurate but i gnerally have a better idea of what books are worth reading by GR ratings #mainly bc i have a handful of reviewers i trust opinions about who have read damn near everything #um what else there was something else #oh giveaways GR has better giveaways though i havent won one in years lol #oh storygraph is great for content warnings!#i use it mostly for that!#when i remember too lol #sometimes ill be reading something and go THIS HAS WHAT and ill check SG content warnings #and go.
