Personally, we’re a DID system with schizoaffective (in the process of getting diagnosed) with BPD, NPD, traits of other PDs, and a lot of “scary” symptoms >_< !!

Re: overall tumblr top 10: I think it’s funny that my throwaway moodboards are often some of the most popular content on my blog. Things I’m just like ‘ooh I gotta make this’ are mixed in with requests, I think that’s interesting! Ms. Frizzle just blowing away the competition, that’s amazing and I love it. Nothing is even close to how popular she is, and she deserves it. Jack Skellington coming onto the list twice? Come through king, I would love to write a full fic in Halloweentown sometime. 

Generally, the more ‘alternative’ characters seem to get a lot more attention on my blog: The Pumpkin King, Morticia, Wybie, Sundrop and Moondrop... Tiana and Naveen really snuck up there though! 

Moving onto the more direct fic comparison: 

....well this made me realize that I never published my Sanders Sides fics from this blog on AO3, whoops 

Setting that aside, fics with angst and plot tend to do better on AO3, while fluffy stories do better on tumblr: Sugary Sweet doesn’t even hit my top 10 on AO3 and it’s one of the fluffiest fics I’ve ever written, coming in at #5 on the tumblr list 

On the other hand, Only Heaven I’ll Be Sent To is by far one of my best performing fics on AO3, but comes in at number 6 (tied with another fic) on tumblr, probably because it features a lot of action and gore alongside the fluffy agere elements, same for Restrained showing up on the AO3 top but not tumblr’s. 

My Harry Potter fics do way better on tumblr, which is interesting? Maybe Harry Potter fans are still reading their fics on independent forums? Or Harry Potter folks on AO3 don’t cross over much with the agere crowd. (Or maybe they’re just overloaded with /reader fics) I haven’t been actually into the HP community since around 2011 so I’m not sure what’s up there. 

Big shoutout to Class Outing for dominating the top of both lists: BNHA is such a big fandom that it makes sense, and I wrote that fic on @agere-fandom-time, which I think got more interaction than this blog: it seems like people are more comfortable interacting with a group-run blog, rather than an individual writer. Or maybe that’s a natural consequence of more writers putting out more consistent content, letting the blog get bigger. I’m not sure! Either way, even if I’m not into BNHA anymore, I feel like it’s a good piece of my writing, so I’m happy for it to be my top spot.

i said i'd give my full thoughts on littleforbig so here they are!!

personally, i've bought from littleforbig once (years ago) but probably wouldn't do it again, since i've become more aware of their problems and i have better alternatives for anything i'd get from them

basically, they aren't great but not for the reasons people think. there's nothing morally wrong with ageplay, provided its between consenting (bodily) adults. if it makes you uncomfortable, that's fine and totally understandable and valid. but that doesn't make it immoral.

dualcom people exist, and anyone who slips into a younger headspace in any context is by definition engaging in age regression. it would be wrong to deny that!!

not to mention, dualcom regression is usually done for the same reasons as entirely sfw agere: comfort and reclamation of childhood

if that process of reclamation involves sex or kink for anyone there’s literally nothing wrong with that, it’s a deeply personal process and (as long as they’re respectful of those who don’t want to engage in those aspects and aren’t hurting anyone) it’s not anyone's place to pass judgement on what's acceptable

as for littleforbig, they're kind of overpriced and their branding is pretty iffy. they lack inclusivity (all their product model photos feature skinny white women exclusively) and generally have a pretty reductive view of both ageplay and age regression as a whole

it's also always better to shop local and in-person where you can!! but i get that can be difficult for things like agere gear

TLDR: littleforbig kind of sucks as a brand, but not purely because they're a kink store. if they're the most/only accessible option, then you have to weigh up the choice of whether to support them yourself based on how much good an item would bring to your life! any action is good action, and taking care of yourself is part of that, even if it means supporting something you don't 100% agree with. take it case-by-case and find your own balance :)

there aren't a lot of super popular ships in this fandom, so keeping in my rules about notps being relatively well known ships and not just a crack ship i pulled out of my ass for the sake of hating it....tbh, i'm not a huge fan of him and martha together as a ship? idk why, it seems cute, and it's definitely not a dealbreaker for me when it comes to fics, but it just doesn't click for me for some reason. i kinda wish it did, i know it's a fan favorite :') tbh now that i think about it it's kinda one of those ships i really only feel things for in the context of polyamorous ships with other characters involved HGKFDJSFLK

i have a couple nominees: him saying in his diary that he still loves lila despite her scaring him because holy shit it breaks my heart that little speech he gives to tanya about how she's not the center of the world and how he and her friends do want to be there for her (we stan a king who can read her to filth LMAO) him confessing to lila's murder in the strength ending because it breaks my HEART he deserves the WORLD him asking martha if she needs anything while she's drunk out of her mind.....him just generally trying to help her in that scene tbh. he's such a sweet boy bwahhh

My role as a regressor is the little sibling who learned to talk and hasn't shut up since and who learned to walk and now can't stop moving.

The toddler who isn't potty trained yet but wants to hold your hand and walk around an art gallery and patiently critique the pieces.

The little one who laughs too loud at the silliest things and doesn't know the right measuring cup for what you're baking.

The little who's trying to use a pull toy on playground bark instead of hard wood or cement.

The baby who gets belly raspberries and kicks their legs.

The one who makes their big sibling feel proud to be a big sibling.

That's my job as a little.

I saw this really nice post about how in a lot of posts, financial responsibility for a little is touted as the mark of a good Caregiver; how that idea is materialistic, not the best way to express affection, and generally not a sustainable option for caregivers. (Points I totally agree with)

Obviously I get why this is such a common tip, children aren't given financial freedom and rely on caregivers to pay for toys and stuff. Just because gifts ARE your love language, or little items DO help you regress, doesn't mean you need to put that on your carer.

Here are some nice alternatives where there is minimal to no financial burden on caregivers:

What Littles can do:

If you're very very close with your caregiver, you can always ask for them to hold your wallet or money for you (just make sure you count it up and keep track!)

If you're not as close, hand them the money before you get up to the cash register after you know what you want to buy.

Simply take them shopping with you. Pay for your own things (like a big kid!), but have CG's help pick out your toys or gear. (You can even do this online with a share-screen feature!)

Make a wish-list or Christmas-list! Go through Amazon, seasonal catalogues, or even actual stores and just window shop together! You don't need to buy anything.

You can buy materials for a project while big, and just assemble it with your carer. Even if things don't turn out, you'll have made something together. (This is especially nice with food!)

What Caregivers can do:

make your little a picture :) Everyone, little or carer, enjoys a hand-made piece, even if it's just a little doodle you made in five minutes.

Go to the library or check out some stories to read together next time.

If you do want to surprise your little, you can check with relatives, friends, and neighbors for toys (you'd probably be surprised how many cousins or aunts or friends' parents are trying to get rid of old toys and will be willing to give you Lego and Barbie sets for cheap or free)

Thrift stores are wonderful, too, and create a treasure-hunt environment which is also more of a fun experience for the both of you. Many times, you'll probably leave only having spent gas money and some time.

But of course, life is not about stuff. Being little is not about stuff.

If you're having trouble finding caregiver advice or activities that are wallet-friendly, I'd highly suggest looking into minimalist or DIY/nature centric childhood lifestyles like Montessori or Waldorf (even if you don't agree with the philosophies).

I could go on and on about how these concepts can be adapted for littles, especially littles on a budget, but I won't for now. But they can be really helpful in creating a child-like lifestyle and atmosphere that is cheap and still stimulating enough for regressors while still making a warm and nostalgic environment. (They can also be subtle). So if you're a little or caregiver on a budget, it might be nice to look into those.

The point is: You have options.

Regression does not need to be expensive for caregivers or littles.

You don't need to spend a billion dollars on these things.

Regression is a therapeutic tactic and a hobby, and it does not need to be one only open to the financially well-off.

My #1 post of 2022

Taking care of a small group of littles and being a caregiver for them is such a cute concept;

Setting up a quilt in the sun outside as a safe space if they're tired or want a break. It's littered with various toys and a couple of picture books. But the lazy sunshine makes everyone happy and we're all working together in the garden.

Perhaps there's a baby in my lap, helping me put dirt into the garden beds, getting their hands dirty as they play.

Maybe a toddler is running around helping with watering the plants or helping me poke the seeds into the ground.

Possibly, there's an older kid who's a little bit more independent with their own game going on. They play on the swing and build fairy houses. I hand them a bowl and they collect flowers and other plants to put in their mysterious mixture of "medicine"/"perfume".
