Let's Color Eat Together, Aki and Haru: More Please!

Since I loved the first movie, I am more than excited to get another serving of these color-coded boys realizing just how much they love each other over shared meals, so I'm jumping right in!

Aki is a Yellow/Orange Oddity. His name means "Autumn" and he is in charge of cooking.

Haru is a Blue Boy. His name means "Spring" and he is in charge of cleaning.

Oh, and there's Chief Penguin who watches over their seasonal adventures of being in love.

Because Aki and Haru are IN LOVE since their names on their doors are in the other boy's color, which means they have been exchanging colors (and love) since forever.

But it's obvious that Aki loves Haru since he wears his heart on his sleeve and pink on his body.

However, even though it might be harder to notice, Haru also loves Aki since he constantly combines their colors and wears green.

This is what drives the sequel — All the subtle ways these boys love each other because Haru, the cleaner, does cook Aki's favorite curry with a little yellow hair tie in his hair since his blonde boy is always on his mind.

And Aki wears a blue hair tie when he tries to come up with ways to make Haru happy since he is always thinking about his Blue Boy(friend) and his happiness.

They are always thinking about each other, and they are always wearing each other's colors and mixing them into green.

Aki loves their domestic life together and wishes to never leave it.

And Haru loves his bright and loud Yellow/Orange Oddity, just the way he is, and even states that he wants Aki to find a job that he can be himself at.

So even though Haru is happy that Aki found a job he will love, it doesn't mean he won't miss Aki, which is why he is in green and orange for his boy.

But Aki doesn't see that. As he sits in Haru's blue with Chief Penguin, he wishes Haru would say that he will miss him.

Because Haru doesn't express himself, Aki thinks Haru doesn't love him the same way he loves him, but Haru, in his pink, can't even think about moving out of the place they have shared together for the past four years without getting upset.

So he turns black instead.

Haru can't even function at work without thinking about Aki leaving their blissful green life behind.

So as much as Aki believes it's better to keep his feelings to himself since he doesn't think Haru feels the same (even though that Blue Boy is always right behind him in whatever he does),

He is wrong.

Haru loves Aki just as much as Aki loves Haru.

In fact, Haru's entire world is Aki. But even as they stand there wearing their colors seeing the writing photos on the wall, Aki still doesn't fully understand.

So after Aki painfully confesses that he loves Haru in a way he fears Haru will hate him for, Haru reassures Aki that he can love him and that he doesn't want to spend his life with anyone else but Aki.

And even though Haru doesn't say he loves Aki back in that moment, the love isn't one-side. The love, even if unspoken, is right there between them. Always.

Thankfully, Haru makes that clear. With Aki in both their colors, Haru tells Aki that he loves him too, and they walk back to their home hand-in-hand.

So even though they have different graduation ceremonies, they still carry each other with them in their ties that share both their colors.

Although they are separated after graduated, fortunately they are color-coded boys in love who understand that distance makes the heart grow fonder, and continue their relationship long-distance while Haru keeps Aki's sweater warm back home.

And the sequel ends the same way the first movie did —

With the color-coded boys in love reuniting and showing affection, trust, and connection by touching foreheads.

You know, like penguins do.

Can't wait for the next picture to be their wedding.

Does makorn actually prefer kon diao to hia yi or is it just to tease yi?

Kind of both?

Like, he loves Diao, and a big part of that is the fact that Diao is just a warm and lovely person.

But also, he thinks of Diao as his son, and even if it was from afar, he raised Diao. Diao was allowed to do what he wanted, was spoiled (from afar) by Makorn, and when he returned to Thailand, Makorn loves to visit him and bring him presents and treats.

When Makorn was younger and Yi was a baby and then a child, there is still a lot of baggage Makorn had to carry from their family's mafia days. The inter-family war that left so many dead, it sounds like that was mostly his father's generation, but it also implies heavily that he got his hands bloody too.

He couldn't be a doting father with Yi. He had to be tough, he had to raise Yi to be tough. To expect to be kidnapped or tortured, to expect he'd have to fight for his life. And then when his wife left him, and he kind of came to and realized...

He was a bad father. And by then... Yi's personality was kind of hardening and set. He regretted it, but not entirely- Yi was kidnapped and held hostage and nearly died, and he only survived because of the things Makorn made him learn.

So like...

Makorn says it repeatedly himself- it was just too late to be the kind of father he wanted to be for Yi, but it wasn't too late with Diao. All of the love and affection that he can't pour on Yi (because now it'd freak Yi out), he pours on Diao.

Yi is the one who had to grow up to carry the Chen name, but Diao can be innocent. And Yi thinks his father will kill him for proposing hiring a board of directors to help him manage the company and kind of take that last step into legitimacy, but Makorn immediately agrees.

Because if their family fully sheds the criminal side, Yi and Diao's future child or children won't have to grow up the way Yi did. They will have a chance to be human.

So it's a bit of a double-answer. He loves Yi so much, but he feels like he can show his love of Diao more, and Diao reciprocates.

But when Yi and Diao finally marry and come to live in Chen manor with him and Nathee, Makorn is overjoyed that he finally has a chance to work on his relationship with Yi and be a dad.
