I'm glad that we're getting that starfleet academy series set in the 32nd century because discovery is doing some interesting stuff there and it would be a shame not to continue it somehow. I know I'm probably the only one who thinks that but I don't care. I'll watch it and I look forward to it <3
#star trek#sofi.txt#i hope we get tilly as a teacher that's my only wish#and listen it makes sense to set the series here#since they decided to make it#tos and tng eras are cool but it's been done. this is something new#a starfleet academy that's rebuilding and reopened after the federation almost died#i also hope it's funny and silly i mean it is supposed to be about cadets#and that we'll get cameos and references

A user asked if there are instances wherein Rook will be referred to by their last name. "Yes, there are places where we refer to Rook by their last name. It's very contextual - we don't want to awkwardly insert a reference in where it doesn't make sense - but it does happen, though it is going to be more common with some backgrounds than others."
Q. "Does Solas have a type of tea he doesn't mind as much as others? Or are all of them equally detestable?" A. "Orange zinger."
A user asked about the ages of the companions. "We're not getting into specifics right yet, but the companions cover a broad range of ages and experience. They're all pretty established in the world and in their expertise by the time you meet them, though. You are recruiting a team of experts after all."
You can have body tattoos!
John Epler: "Echoing Corinne, the last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind but also incredibly rejuvenating. I'm so excited to share more with y'all."
A user stated "There are no restrictions on lineage/faction/class combinations other than dwarves cannot be mages". Corinne added "Correct. I've really been enjoying the different combinations."
Q. "Will the gender identity of a trans/non-binary Rook be acknowledged in game by other characters? (beyond just pronouns I mean)". A. "There are moments when you can disclose and discuss, however, disclosure remains the right of the individual so you have to make that choice for yourself." (!!)
Re: release date. ''Exact date has not yet been revealed. Fall 2024 is as much as we can say right now.''
''Lots of great cameos in the game, but I'm not going to spoil anything. You'll have to play to see who shows up for yourself.''
''We can't reveal our upcoming marketing beats or media presence just yet. Stay tuned.''
Q. ''Can companion AI be customized - ie. DAO/DA2 style tactics or even something like Aggressive -> Defensive'' A. ''Very different system this time around. In the skill trees you can affect their behaviors, like setting you up for combos, or auto-healing you when health gets low. Each Companion is a little different mechanically.''
Q. ''Will we get the option to give our Rook more fantastical hair colors, like purple, blue, pink?''. A. ''Yes''
Q. ''How about heterochromatic eyes?'' A. ''Yes''
Corinne: ''We're so excited too! As much as I've played, I absolutely cannot wait to do my first playthrough when the game is out. Also cannot wait to hear about all of your decisions and experiences.''
Q. ''Will I be able to make a short qunari and a tall dwarf or are there limits to that? Do the qunari have to be buff?'' A. ''There are limitations, of course... but yes, you can make a Dwarf that is tall or a Qunari that is short, relative to their lineage. We stan the skinny Qunari''
Corinne: ''Need to get back to it, all. But it's always a pleasure to check-in and see the great questions. We'll do this again soon :)''

How I would've set up Sam and The Avengers in Phase 4 and 5.
An incredibly long, and self-indulgent collection of my headcanons. 😅🤣
After reading @likeol 's post here, here's how I would've gone about setting up Sam and the new Avengers. This is just my opinion. Long post ahead.
In my ideal but still trying to be realistic, alternative world, I would've done this:
Falcon and the Winter Soldier needed to be a movie. Having it be a show fractured the general audience, many of whom still don't bother to watch the shows. Hiding the first chapter of Sam's arc as Cap on show damages the potential new Cap trilogy macro arc.
This movie should've released end of 2019 like Spiderman Far From Home (TFATWS is set 6 months post blip, FFH is set 8 months). Release it Sept/Oct. (Unlikely they'd release this the same year as Endgame, but I'm saying this with the full knowledge that COVID shut down theatres in March 2020 soooo... go with it lol)
Easily could've filmed this the same time as Infinty War/Endgame/reshoots, since Anthony and Sebastian were blipped and only in the final battle.
Working title is TFATWS. Then post Endgame comic con, big reveal, boom we tricked you CAP 4 BABYYYY!
Call it something like Captain America: Legacy or False Flag something idk. Something that either ties to the passing mantle theme or government manipulation/covert operations i.e. Walker
Since this is pre covid, we can now keep the original Flagsmasher plot lol! or strip it down a little and make Walker more overtly the villain. (I just hate him)
*Side note: did you know Far From Home is considered Phase 3 and not 4? I guess this hypothetical makes my Cap 4 movie end of Phase 3.
On to Phase 4! References!
After cinemas reopen, Shang Chi releases Sep 2021. Could maybe have included Sam in the post credit? Have him at that hologram meeting. Beaming in or in person, dont care.
Eternals released Nov 2021. Don't let them ignore Sam. Remember that bs 'Who's going to lead them?' and Ikarus going maybe me? Nah!
Hawkeye ended Dec 2021. Include Sam (and Bucky in the post credit at that terrible musical. It's funny! It would've made sitting through it bearable.
Ms Marvel started June 2022. Sam Wilson as Cap should've been represented at that AvengersCon. He wasn't even visible as Falcon. But easily could've just in passing shown the costume competition. Get creative. Maybe one fan is half-Falcon half-Cap suit, split down the middle. (Bonus: Have a SamCap cosplayer dragging a friend along who's just wrapped his arm in foil like those french guys off tiktok 😆)
I wouldn't care so much about What if episodes if we had these other references. But come on! Sam definitely should've been in these at least as Falcon.
Speaking of 2022, looks like we're due for Sam's 2nd Cap film! (It's been 2.5 years. Totally doable.)
This would make 4 MCU films in 2022 but idk it's post COVID. Roll them out.
Move Doctor Strange 2 to earlier in the year Feb/March idk, I didn't like that film 😅
May 6 is now free for Captain America: New World Order (you could still have Brave New World, but i always thought NWO was a better title. And it's from the comics)
Instead of the Hulk sequel plot (I don't really like the Leader I'm sorry BNW 😔), this should be following our Cap4. Still make it political espionage, still begin the 'restart the Avengers' request from the president, follow up on Sharon as Powerbroker. Personally, I'd tie in Rhodey's Armor War ideas too, because I want a bigger supporting cast of familiar faces.
Joaquin still gets injured here, because it's his first big fight and I love their conversation after
Maybe include an Ant Man cameo. Show Scott and Sam are still connected. Maybe even have Scott ask Sam about writing the foreword to his book! Which we'll then see the following year in Quantamania. 🤯
The post credit for this Cap5 is a first baby Avengers assemble moment. (From the above changes, he's met Shang Chi, Wong, knows Bruce, Scott and Hope. Already has Joaquin and Bucky (?) and Rhodey. It's a start!!
On to Phase 5!
Honestly, there's not much to do here. Mention Sam in Ant-man 3. During Scott's book signing
Thunderbolts, which I now decide is set first in 2025. That's the film that's dumped in February. Because it's not a summer worthy movie. 🤷♀️
Can stay the same but for adding a Sam cameo and tweaking the end credit scene where we replace it with this idea here (or similar idc) but since we the audience already know the REAL Avengers are operating since Cap5, this makes sense.
Don't know how to fix Bucky's bs choice. You could always just entirely replace him in Thunderbolts with Everett Ross like we just did here 😆 But at the VERY least don't stab Sam in the back by staying quiet when people insult him 🙄
OF COURSE, this whole rewrite is based on respecting Sam and ergo the New Avengers reveal likely wouldn't happen anyway. BUT if it did, at least Sam's Cap and team are coming in to defend.
Now Captain America 6! (It's been 3 years, but Sam is established on the big screen, and i'm being realistic in accounting for the actors and writers strike 🤣😂)
This becomes our May summer release. Essentially, this would be Avengers 4.5 in the same way that Cap3 was Avengers 2.5 given all the supporting characters. BUT that's just cos we need a team up movie before Doomsday and we also need to squash the Thunderbolts nonsense. Resolve that here, or at least develop it somehow.
Still have some big Avengers style action. Show the team dynamic under Sam's leadership. Add in Shuri!
This a new film so I have zero plot ideas 😆 but whatever happens, the post credit scene for THIS is now the Fantastic Four ship coming into orbit.
Annnnnd.... yeah. That's how I would've weaved Sam in through Phases 4 and 5, setting up Phase 6 Avengers.
If you've read to the end of this... thank you ...and im sorry 🤣 😂 💞 🎖🏅
Would you have done anything differently? Have I forgotten anything?
#sam wilson#captain america#i don't really know what to tag. i'm not gonna tag every movie lol#tfatws#cabnw#sam wilson headcanon#mcu headcanons#mcu rewrite#tfatws rewrite#meta

🏚️ BONUS: THE HOUSE
misc!monsters x f!reader 🔥 words: 2.7k
You were invited to a Halloween party in a mysterious house, promising a night full of surprises - which all came true, one way or another. Now it's the next morning, and you're going back to finish that chapter of your life once and for all.
WARNINGS: None? Fluff! Mystery! Some (sexual) implications and references to previous chapters/adventures. Shapeshifting. (READ ON AO3!)
A/N: This is a bonus chapter for my CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE story A NIGHT TO REMEMBER. This references chapters 1, 2 and 6, so it's best to have read those or even better the whole story to understand it. It's just a way to tie up some loose ends. Cameo by an infamous masked man. Spoiler: there's no actual smut here, but it's somehow referenced (come back soon for the smut bonus chapter!). 1 🔸 2 🔸 3 🔸 4 🔸 5 🔸 6
During breakfast (turns out the hairy man is not only a great lover but also a brilliant chef), you find yourself on Bear's lap, feeding and getting fed in a way you've never experienced before. It should be weird how fast you feel this comfortable with him. But it isn't. It's almost as if you've already accepted your new life.
If it wasn't for one thing. The absence of your purse and the remnants of your old life it entails.
“Can we go?” you ask quietly, wiping your index finger over his upper lip, teasing his mustache.
“You sure you left it there?” he responds, watching you closely, a little crease between his heavy eyebrows.
You shift on his lap. “Well, I can't fully remember, as you know,” you start, thinking back to your time at the party that brought you here (and ultimately into his arms). “But I think I left it in the bathroom. I had it when I entered the house, but if I still had it when I ran into you, you would have seen it it, right?”
He hums, nodding slightly as his eyes travel past you through the window. His hand lies heavy on your thigh, squeezing it gently. “I don't want you going back there, though...”
“I know,” you whisper, eyes wandering over his bearded face. “But I need it. As much as I just want to throw my old life away for you, I have to cut off some ties beforehand, and tell people where I am, or at least how I am. I hope nobody's worried yet...”
His hum turns into a low growl. You reach up and cup his cheeks, rubbing your thumbs over the corners of his tight lips. His dark eyes snap back to yours.
“I want to stay, I told you. I'm not going anywhere. But I have to get some stuff, too, you know? Like clothes? I only have this blouse and skirt with me. Unless you really just want to keep me in a cage, bound and gagged and naked...” you tease, raising an eyebrow.
“Tempting image,” he grunts, a chuckle escaping him. “But no, I want you to be comfortable here. And I guess clothes do their part, hm?”
“Yes, they do. I'll still wear your favorite cape whenever you want, don't worry,” you whisper, leaning closer until your nose brushes against his. “I do like red...”
He huffs a loud exhale, warm against your skin, before he tilts his head and presses his lips to yours for a short kiss. “By the way, whatever happened to your underwear, huh?” he mutters into you with a smirk.
You blush deeply, leaning back, your hands moving down to his shoulders. “Well, good question. Maybe I went commando in the first place?”
His hand comes up to brush a strand of hair behind your ear. “Hmm, I'm not sure I can believe that. You may be the adventurous type, or at least, you're open for a little fun, but no panties in late October? I bet your mother taught you better.”
You scoff, smirking back at him. “If I only did what she taught me, I wouldn't be sitting on the lap of a strange mythical creature, would I?”
He gives you a wink. “Little Red sure is known for leaving the beaten path, isn't she?” He watches you for a moment as you smile softly, before he throws his arms around you and hugs you tightly to his chest. “Fine, we'll go. Get that damn purse, you do whatever needs to be done, and then, as soon as the moon rises, you're in for a treat, missy,” he adds, burying his face in the crook of your neck as he holds you close.
You chuckle, snaking your arms around him as well. “Can't wait,” you whisper, closing your eyes for a moment.
Half an hour later, you walk up to the imposing house, Bear's hand tight around yours as he leads you through the garden. Everything looks so different during the day. It's eerily foggy, but the sun still tries to fight its way through the clouds. As you round the building to get to the front door, you realize just how old it looks. The paint is chipped, the wooden sidings aged and weathered and rotten in some places, the metal accents rusty and crooked, the whole structure looks as if it's holding up by sheer willpower (or by the magic that cursed it).
The windows are dark, there's an air of stillness around, and you wonder if anyone is even there to open the door. As you approach the steps leading up to the large entrance doors, Bear nudges you to stop. You turn to him, his tan face almost a little pale as he stares up at the big house. You mirror his concerns. He told you the house calls to the lost souls, trying to trap them with its original inhabitants. You may have found what you were looking for in the hairy man beside you, but what if that's not enough? What if the house won't let you go if you enter?
“It'll be fine,” you whisper, to ease your worries and the creases on Bear's forehead. He looks down at you, his brown eyes almost black. You reach up a hand to caress his cheek, trying to distract yourself with the scraping sound of his beard against your fingertips.
“Maybe you don't have to enter,” he growls quietly, putting his large hands protectively around your waist, pulling you closer. “Try not to tempt fate, okay?”
You lean up on your toes and press your lips to the corner of his mouth, holding his gaze. “It'll be fine,” you repeat. He sighs deeply, but then nods, reluctantly letting go of you as you slip out of his grip.
Giving him a smile, you slowly turn again and face the double doors. Your knock sounds loud through the quiet space. For a long moment, nothing happens. As you raise your hand again to rap your knuckles against the door, you suddenly hear footsteps. The creepy squeak of the door opening is almost comical.
A maid, a young woman, probably your age, in a neat uniform, looks at you, almost a little bewildered, confused, as if she hasn't expected anyone to just knock or even approach the house. “Yes?” she asks, staring at you.
“Uh, hi. I... I've been to the party last night and it seems I've forgotten my purse inside,” you reply hastily, shuffling from one foot to the other.
“Party?” the other woman whispers, frowning deeply, causing you to stare at her with your lips parting.
“Yes, party,” another voice suddenly sounds from behind her, and she is shoved to the side unceremoniously as a man steps next to her. “Silly Daisy, she seems to be a little forgetful today.”
You look up at the stranger, and something comes over you, like a cold wave of déjà-vu. He's tall, muscular, wears black pants and a tight black shirt, his large hands rest on the maid's shoulders for a moment, and you stare at them, following the pronounced veins up his arms. When you reach his face, the feeling is gone. You've never seen this man before, you're sure.
“Go be useful with the others,” he tells the servant girl, and she nods, blinking in confusion as he gives her a gentle push away from the door into the large lobby. You can see others shuffling behind him, probably cleaning up. “Excuse her, it's been a long night,” the man focuses back on you, and you still stare at him. His voice sounds strangely familiar, low, deep, but something's different. It sounds too clear.
“Uh, oh, no problem,” you mutter, furrowing your eyebrows as you look up at him. His eyes are so bright, blue or gray, almost icy in his pale angular face. A smirk plays around his lips.
“So you've lost your purse, huh?” he asks, crossing his strong arms over his chest.
“Yes!” you call out, glad to remember why you came here in the first place. “Have you seen it? It's, uh, this big,” you show him the dimensions with your hands, ”a red clutch, with a red leather strap.”
“Well, we do have a box of forgotten items right here,” he says, tilting his head to indicate to something behind him. Inside the house. “Come have a look.”
You freeze. Your first instinct is to turn around to look at Bear, but to your biggest surprise, you can't see him. Where did he go? Confusion washes over you as you look back at the strange man. Those arms... and hands... the voice. You can't shake the feeling that you know him somehow. When you meet his gaze, he smiles at you. It doesn't reach his eyes.
“Come on, we don't bite,” he says quietly, unfolding his arms to take a step back, giving you the potential space to walk through the door.
“I... I'd rather not... uh... I don't want to invade. You look busy. Can't you just show me the box? Or look for the purse?” you stammer, wringing your hands.
“I would be less busy if you would just come inside and take a look yourself,” he insists, raising an eyebrow.
Your heart sinks. How important is that purse anyway? Then again, why are you so afraid to enter? Surely they won't just abduct you. Your mind goes back to Bear, to his cabin, to the life he's promised you. And you want that, want to be with him, and you will be, if you just think hard enough so that no ancient magic can get its hooks into you. It'll be fine.
Inhaling deeply, you take another look behind you, hoping to see him somewhere. Maybe he isn't allowed near the house, so he waits somewhere behind a hedge or something. “Okay,” you whisper as you turn back to the man waiting for you to enter. “I'll be quick,” you add as you take the first step, your foot already crossing the threshold.
He steps aside, extending an arm to show you which direction that box must be. Your heart beats faster when you hear the door clicking shut behind you. Trying not to fuss about it, you keep walking until you find a large cardboard box on a little table near the pompous staircase leading up. You see various items. Phones, sunglasses, jewelry, scarves, and –
You freeze as your fingers brush against a large white mask. Suddenly another hand moves to grab it, veins and tendons working under tight skin as the man from the door picks up the costume. You gasp as he turns the mask between his long fingers. His icy eyes stare down at you, a smirk dancing around his lips.
“What a silly thing,” he says quietly. “What a lazy way to conceal oneself, hm?”
You blink as your mind reels with a strangely feeble memory. Your stomach tenses up, something hot gathering low in your body. Clearing your throat, you look away, focusing back on the box, your fingers pushing aside all kinds of things, until you finally see something red. Your purse. Clutching it eagerly, you pull it out and inspect it, sighing in relief when you find your wallet, your phone and all the other small things you brought with you.
“Everything in order?” the man beside you asks, still fingering the eerie mask.
“Yes,” you reply, taking a step back as you hug your purse to your chest. “Thanks. I... uh, I'll best be going now. Long way home,” you say, giving him a nervous smile.
He tilts his head, and between his fingers the mask does the same. A cold shiver crashes down your spine. “Sure,” he says. “Best of luck.”
You swallow hard, slowly walking backwards to the entrance door. Your eyes scan the adjacent rooms where people in costumes move about like zombies, slow and uncoordinated, trying to pick up dropped cups, wiping at surfaces. They look familiar as well. A sexy ladybug next to a guy with a white T-shirt that says This is my costume. You frown. You feel like you should remember them more clearly, but your mind is fuzzy.
Clutching your purse, you try to look away, and when your back hits the door, you gasp, your hand finding the door knob. You turn it, and it won't budge. Panic settles inside you. You try again, nothing happens.
Then you feel a body next to yours, towering over you, a hand reaching out to close around your own. You stiffen, bracing yourself as long fingers move your hand around the knob, and the door suddenly opens. Cold air hits your nostrils, and you inhale deeply. Looking over your shoulder, you see the man behind you, except now he is wearing that stupid Ghostface mask, making you jump and shriek as you realize how close he is.
A muffled chuckle escapes him. “Oh little Red, it's so sad to see you go,” he says quietly, his hand moving along your arm until it rests on your shoulder. “You really can't stay?”
You swallow the lump in your throat, trying to ignore the burning between your thighs. “No, I... I don't belong here,” you whisper, slowly inching away from him, your feet so heavy you can barely move.
“Hm, you sure?” he replies, tilting his masked face ominously. “I thought we fit quite well together last night...”
Another gasp escapes you, the memory rushing back into your head with a force that makes you stumble backwards, but as soon as you cross the threshold, standing on the porch, outside, you blink in confusion as it fizzles away again. All that remains is the man in the mask, staring at you, his face unmoving, eerie. A sigh sounds from behind the thick plastic.
One of his hands moves to his pants pocket, and as you watch him, frozen to the spot, trying to figure out what happened, he pulls something out that looks strangely familiar to you. The red cloth you chose to match your costume. Your panties. He unfolds them between his long fingers, and you feel a different kind of heat creeping into your cheeks.
“At least I have this to remember you, hm?” he says quietly, waving the garment at you in a mocking fashion.
You take another step back, breathing harder. “I... I don't know what you're talking about,” you reply, forcing the blurry images away.
“Whatever makes you happy, Red,” he sighs, scrunching up your underwear in his big hand before he pushes it back into his pocket. “Say hi to Bear from me, will you?”
His last words make you pause, your eyebrows furrowing. Before you can inquire what he means, how he can possibly know you're with Bear now, he closes the door so slowly it lets off another eerie squeak. You blink, staring at the old wood.
Somehow you manage to turn around, your feet dragging down the porch steps until you hit the gravel. Your head is spinning. And it only gets worse, when you hear a sudden rustle in a bush close to you. With a low snarl, a big black wolf jumps out of it, yellow eyes boring into you. You shriek in fear, stumbling back, but the animal has already grabbed the hem of your skirt between his sharp teeth, pulling you away from the house.
You loose your footing, landing hard on your already scraped knees, but at least the cold stab of pain is finally enough to clear your muddled head. Breathing harder, you sit on your knees, looking back at the large house behind you, before the wolf nudges your cheek with his wet nose. You turn to him, all the terror gone as you look into his bright eyes. There's nothing malicious about this animal. Your hand reaches out to pet his surprisingly soft black fur.
“Bear?” you whisper, sinking your fingers deeper into his pelt.
The wolf huffs a warm breath against your face before he licks his long tongue all over your cheek. You giggle as you try to get away.
“It's fine, Bear,” you whisper as you wrap your arms around the wolf's neck to get back up on your feet. “It's done. Let's go home.”
End notes: There will be one more bonus chapter after this: The Marking, focusing back on our werewolf friend. Stay tuned!

↪ Summary: You are the lead detective in an investigation surrounding one of the most infamous killers the city has ever seen. Unfortunately for you, Jigsaw knows you're onto him and has played you like a game at every turn, threatening the case and your status. Your determination to catch him finally gets you a lead, only for you to find yourself tangled in a special trap that he designed just for you. Let the game begin.
↪ Pairings: Jigsaw Killer Choi San x Female Detective Reader
↪ Rating: M 18+
↪ Genre: Non-idol/Slasher/Horror movie au/ Suggestive / Fluff/Friends to enemies to lovers
↪ Word Count: 5.7k
↪ Warnings/Contents: References to classic horror movies, mainly Saw, Silence of the Lambs, and Scream. Mentions of death/murder/being shot (not detailed). Seonghwa and Mingi both make cameos in this story with a few other members being mentioned. Swearing and implied smut (MDNI). San being a teasing little shit, makeout sessions, fondling over clothes.
↪ Side Notes: To the wonderful @pinkywritings hi darling I was your assigned Ghost Writer for the @atinyhalloweenproject. This is my first time writing for San and I had a lot of fun with it so I hope you enjoy it! Sorry it is so late I wanted to have it out by Halloween but due to the sudden weather change we haven't had power. I tried to make it longer to make up for that so hopefully it doesn't feel rushed and was worth the wait!
I honestly may do a part two to this or an expansion later on because I love the idea of Jigsaw San but we'll see.

“Police officials are seeking any leads in identifying the man known only to the public as the Jigsaw killer. He is believed to be linked in multiple disappearances and murders that have taken place around Seoul for the past three months. The victims were all found in various handmade traps and had a puzzle piece drawn somewhere visible on their body. At this time investigators have no leads and are asking the public for any knowledge they may have on this public threat.”
The reporter's voice faded to nothing as the volume on the TV was lowered to zero. You groaned softly to yourself as you tossed the remote to the side, running your hands through your hair as you sat forward on your couch. It had been just over a month since you were assigned the Jigsaw murder case, the last detective backing out after the man in question threatened to target his family. The case was quickly transferred over to you, one of the best detectives in your field, but it was very quickly starting to test your patience.
Whoever this Jigsaw was, he was a clever man. He left no trace, no evidence, nothing that would allow you to track him down. You went through surveillance, interviewed the family and friends of the victims, tried breaking down his traps for any clues, but any lead always led you right back to square one. You had tried to be patient, hoping that eventually he would slip up and give you something, but it was starting to sound like wishful thinking. Even worse, he knew who you were and started calling you out directly. You would find notes addressed to you, pictures, voice messages, all calling you out and taunting you. It was like he was playing some cruel game with you and you had no choice but to play along or risk losing everything. You couldn’t even walk to work anymore without some reporter chasing you down demanding an explanation or any evidence you had in the case. It came to a point where you only went to the office when called, and the rest of your work you did from home.
Various evidence pictures and case files were thrown across your coffee table, a few rough notes scribbled in between. You had been looking at the same files for the past couple of hours, dissecting every last word to see if you had missed any connections. Your last victim had been found 72 hours ago, and you knew you only had a day at most before the next one. There were a few things you had discovered about Jigsaw, and the main one was that he worked on a schedule. Once someone was reported missing, it would be three days before their body turned up and the cycle would start again. Whoever this man was, he clearly enjoyed his patterns, and that is what you found yourself looking for, any pattern you may have missed.
“Working from home again I see?” you practically jumped out of your skin as you heard the deep voice of your roommate behind you, turning around to see his tall frame leaning over the couch.
“For Fucks sake Mingi you almost gave me a heart attack!” you whined, reaching up to lightly smack at him, “what are you doing here anyways I thought you weren’t coming home tonight.” You and Mingi had been friends for as long as you could remember, having met back in high school and staying together through college and your time at the police academy. He was like a brother to you at this point and you trusted him so you didn’t mind if he saw your work, even if he technically wasn’t supposed to. Mingi always found your work to be fascinating and would bug you randomly about cases, which only grew more when you started investigating Jigsaw, though you assumed it was just because you got to bring your work home now. Just as you predicted, he made his way to the other side of the couch and took a seat next to you, picking up one of the crime scene photos to get a better look.
“I was going to stay at Yunhos tonight but something came up and he had to cancel,” Mingi explained, running his thumb over the picture he was holding, “ouch this looks like it would have been painful, what is it?”
“That’s one of Jigsaw's latest traps,” you answered, snatching the photo away from him, “I’m looking through it to see if I can find any missing clues.”
“Have you found anything?”
“Sadly no, he’s very good at covering his tracks. It’s been a month and we still don’t have any leads on this guy, it’s like he’s a ghost or something.” Mingi hummed softly as he continued to look through all the pictures, careful not to mess them up knowing you would yell at him if he did.
“Now I’m no expert but, are you sure you’re only looking for one person?” he asked, catching you off guard.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean all these crime scenes you’ve shown me have been pretty big and this says it only took three days, seems like a lot of work for one person if you ask me.” Mingi explained, “and that’s why your patterns wouldn’t line up like you want them to.” You blinked up at him dumbly for a moment as you processed his words, looking back down at the file you had basically memorized by this point. You didn’t want to admit it, but Mingi had a point.
“You know that’s actually not a bad idea,” you muttered.
“I can be helpful sometimes you know,” he bragged with a laugh, earning himself a punch to the shoulder. He didn’t have time to retaliate though as you were packing up all of your things and rushing towards the door, “Wait where are you going?”
“I need to check on something, don’t wait up for me!” you called back, pulling on your coat and running out the door as he called after you. In your rush you hadn’t realized that you dropped part of your case file on your way out, nor did you notice Mingi pulling out his phone to call someone as he closed the door to your apartment.
ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ
You made it to the crime scene in no time, an abandoned warehouse located just on the edge of the city. You parked your car a bit away and pulled out a flashlight as you made your way inside, ducking under the caution tape and pulling your jacket closer to yourself as you looked around. The clean up crew had gotten most of the scene cleaned by now, but the trap itself was still there. A weirdly broken mess of chains and blades that you wouldn’t have been able to put back together if you wanted to, making you wonder how Jigsaw even came up with the idea in the first place. You shook the thought out of your head and made your way to one of the blades, leaning down to inspect it carefully. It was sharp with a curve to it, but almost messy in design as if it was handmade. To test that theory you took a look at another one and noticed the same thing except this one was thicker and less curved despite being set up the same way. The chains themselves were also a bit sloppy when you looked at them closely, almost as if they had been done in a rush. It wasn’t as clean as Jigsaw's normal work, and now Mingis suggestion that you were dealing with more than one culprit seemed more plausible.
You took your phone out to snap a picture just as the door to the warehouse opened, a new light pouring in and a familiar voice calling your name.
“Over here!” you called back, flashing your light in his direction so he could see you. Quick footsteps made their way towards you before a familiar figure came into view. Park Seonghwa, a senior detective that had transferred over to your department a little over a year ago and assigned as your partner. You had been against the idea at first since your original partner had been killed only a few weeks prior during an investigation gone wrong. The chief had insisted it would be for the best though since you needed the help and Seonghwas cool and more collected nature would balance you out nicely which would prove to be true. Your impulsiveness had driven the older detective crazy a few times, but for the most part the two of you got along well and you could even consider him a friend. He was wearing a long black coat and matching gloves and his hair was long and falling into his face rather than slicked up like normal, probably because he had been at home resting when you called him.
“Would you care to explain why you called me out here in the middle of the night when I haven’t heard from you in the last 48 hours?” Seonghwa questioned, unable to hide the annoyance in his tone.
“I’ll make it up to you but I figured this couldn’t wait,” you muttered, going back to inspect the chain again, “I’m trying to prove a theory about something.”
“That theory being?”
“What if Jigsaw isn't working alone?” you challenged, “what if it’s more than one person, that would explain why nothing lines up.” Seonghwas eyes widened a bit and you could have sworn you heard him mutter something under his breath, “what did you say?”
“Oh nothing,” he brushed you off, “what made you so convinced of this new theory? Did you find something?” You froze for a second, not wanting to expose yourself for letting a member of the general public view the case file.
“Just a hunch,” you lied, “but I mean look at the way this trap was built, it's messy compared to the others, almost as if it was made by someone else.”
“Or maybe Jigsaw just ran out of time and rushed on it,” he argued.
“Can you just humor me for five seconds Seonghwa,” you groaned, “maybe I’m wrong yes but isn’t it at least worth looking into?” Seonghwa rolled his eyes but gave in, walking to the other side of the trap to get a better look. You were too distracted by your own work to pay much attention to him, meticulously looking through every detail of the trap despite not actually knowing what you were looking for. Your instinct was telling you that there was something there you were overlooking, something that was hiding in plain sight, you just had to figure out what that was.
“Hey Y/N,” Seonghwa called out after a few minutes, “I think I found something.” Your head shot up and you quickly dusted yourself off before making your way over. Seonghwa was standing in the corner of the warehouse holding what looked to be a tape recorder. “I found it tucked away over here, may have gotten knocked around during the investigation,” he explained.
“Does it say anything?” you asked, taking the recorder from his hands and pressing the play button. There was only static for a moment before a robotic voice spoke up, like someone was speaking through a voice changer. Despite that, you couldn’t help but feel like the voice seemed familiar to you, but it was hard to tell through the editing.
“Hello Detective Y/L/N,” the tape addressed you, sending a chill through your body, “these past few weeks you have been running around in circles trying to discover who I am. You have been closer to the truth than you realize but you always end up blindsided by your work and, as a result, you overlook the answer that is right in front of you. I have enjoyed silently watching you up until this point but now it is getting quite boring so why don’t we make this a bit more fun? Do you like games, detective? I hope you do because I want to play a game with you. I have left a riddle for you, the answer to which will tell you all you need to know about who I am and what I do. You have 48 hours to find the riddle and tell me the answer or you will find yourself and those closest to you in a very undesirable situation. The timer starts the second this recording ends, let’s hope you are as clever as everyone says you are. Let the game begin.”
You felt your blood run cold as the tape came to an end, barely registering Seonghwas hand on your shoulder as you tried to process everything you just heard. Seonghwa tried talking to you but you ignored him, pushing his hand off and rushing back to your car, your partner not far behind you.
“Where are you going? We should report this to the office first!” he called after you.
“What good is reporting it going to do? You heard him Hwa I have 48 hours to figure out who this guy is or we’re all screwed, I can’t waste time.”
“So what you’re going to rush into something and get yourself killed?” he argued.
“Better than doing nothing and getting everyone else killed,” you snapped back, “now if you’ll excuse me, I need to find this riddle he’s talking about.” Seonghwa called after you again but by this point you had gotten in your car and were already making your way back to your apartment. Part of you felt like going home was a bad idea, but you also couldn’t help but feel like something was pulling you to go there. The same feeling of familiarity that you got hearing the tape returned, making you feel more and more uneasy as you pulled into your apartment complex. Like you knew who Jigsaw was and yet the image of his face was blurred any time you tried to imagine him.
Mingi didn’t seem to be home when you got back, his shoes were gone and the light was off. You couldn’t focus on that though, as your attention was drawn to the stack of papers placed neatly on your coffee table. You carefully walked over and looked through the pile, recognizing pictures from all the different crime scenes you had investigated so far, each one marked with red ink.
‘Y/N, doesn’t this random pattern seem a bit too random?’
‘This is quite close to home don’t you think?’
‘The truth has been in front of you the whole time.’
‘Why do I do what I do?’
‘Did you miss me?’
You ran your hand through your hair as you continued looking through the pictures, realizing that the riddle was basically going to send you on a scavenger hunt. It would take forever for you to go back through each crime scene and look back through everything to find out what he was talking about. Even worse, it was pretty late and you could feel exhaustion slowly taking over you, slouching over the coffee table and eventually laying against it as you fell asleep trying to decipher the riddle.
You were jolted awake by the sound of your phone vibrating, groaning softly as you sat up and reached into your pocket for the device. You half expected it to be a call from Mingi or Seonghwa, but instead you were greeted with the same robotic voice from the night before. Only this time, you were able to hear his actual voice a bit more and it was one you swore you had heard before.
“Good morning Sleeping Beauty, I hope my riddle didn’t keep you up all night,” the voice immediately woke you up, straightening your posture as you looked around.
“Who is this?” you asked.
“Aww I’m almost offended you don’t remember me, we go way back you know,” the voice responded, “I’ve missed you Y/N, and even if you don’t remember me now I know you miss me too.” You paused for a moment at his words before realizing now was not the time to worry about that.
“Why are you doing this?”
“That. my dear detective is for you to find out, you always did enjoy the thrill of a good challenge didn’t you? I figured you would have solved my puzzle by now but since I believe in giving people a fair chance I’ll give you another clue. One of those puzzle pieces doesn’t quite belong, once you find the answer I will be waiting for you in the place we last met, don’t keep me waiting Doll.” With that the call ended, causing you to groan in frustration and toss your phone to the side.
“I’ve had about enough of these damn games,” you huffed, rubbing your hands over your eyes. You looked through the pictures again before one in particular caught your eye. It wasn’t one of the Jigsaw crime scenes, but instead it was a picture of an older house, one that you recognized from your last murder investigation with your old partner, San. The memories slowly came back to you and that’s when it finally clicked for you, the puzzle and the reason the voice sounded so familiar to you. That was impossible though, San was dead, you had been at the hospital with him when the doctors told you there was nothing they could do. There was no way that San was still alive, and yet you would recognize his voice anywhere. Shaking your head, you grabbed your phone and stood up, calling Seonghwa and telling him to meet you at the house in question as you left your apartment and got in your car. The whole ride there you tried ignoring the feeling of dread that came over you, hoping that your intuition was wrong.
ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ
Seonghwa was already at the house before you got there, leaning against the wall with a blank expression. “I take it you found the answer to your riddle?” he asked as you walked past him, leading him inside.
“As much as I hope I am wrong I think I did,” you confessed, “and if I’m right the clue we are looking for should be here somewhere.” Seonghwa stood still in the middle of the room as you frantically looked around, digging through his pocket and following your movements with his eyes.
“This isn’t one of the crime scenes,” he pointed out, “what exactly are we looking for?”
“Jigsaw said to find him at the place we last met and this place was the only one pictured that wasn’t one of the crime scenes,” you explained. Seonghwa hummed softly at your answer, but you ignored him as you continued looking around.
“Why here then, what’s so special about this place?” you froze for a moment at the question, an action that didn’t go unnoticed.
“This was the last place I investigated with my first partner,” you answered, “he was shot during the investigation and I thought he was dead but I’m starting to think I was wrong.”
“You think it’s him,” Seonghwa stated rather than asked, to which you nodded.
“I don’t know why he would do such a thing, but it all lines up.” Seonghwa sighed and glanced down at his watch before making his way towards you.
“I’m surprised you know, you solved the riddle faster than we thought you would, we’re a bit ahead of schedule.” His words made your blood run cold, freezing as your head turned to look at him.
“What did you just say?”
“I’m sorry about this Y/N,” Seonghwa apologized, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a syringe, “just know I don’t make the rules, I’m just the delivery guy.” Before you could react to his words he had grabbed you and injected you with what you assumed was some kind of anesthesia, your body going limp in his hold almost immediately and your vision going black. The last thing you remember hearing was his voice and footsteps approaching before you completely lost consciousness.
When you returned to consciousness the first thing that you noticed was that you couldn’t move. Your arms and legs were handcuffed to a chair that also appeared to be bolted to the floor so you couldn’t tip it over. Tugging at your restraints, you glanced around to find that you were in some sort of workshop, various trap parts and gadgets tossed around multiple workbenches. At the front of the room were what appeared to be security monitors, each watching different parts of the city that you could just barely make out.
“I have to hand it to you Y/N,” a voice said from behind you, “the last detective didn’t make it nearly as far.” The sound of footsteps echoed through the room before a figure appeared in your vision, wearing a full body red and black hood. Even though his face was covered by the hood, you could feel the presence of your former partner.
“How, I thought you were dead,” you whispered, not sure what to feel at the moment. In any other circumstance you would be over the moon to know he was alive, but how were you supposed to feel knowing he was the serial killer you had been anxiously tracking down. Shock, betrayal, anger, sadness, confusion, all of these emotions swirled through your brain like an endless whirlpool, pulling you in deeper and nearly bringing tears to your eyes.
“Everyone did,” San replied, turning away from you to face one of his work benches, “the doctors said it was a miracle, that no one thought I would make it through the night let alone make a full recovery.” You could hear him messing with something, but couldn’t see what it was, struggling to look past his shoulder as he continued talking, “I tried to find you after you know? I thought you were the only one left that cared about me, and yet even you managed to turn your back on me.”
“I always cared about you,” you argued, “that’s why I’m trying to understand why San, why did you do this?” It was at this point that he finally turned to face you, pulling the hood back so you could see him properly. He looked almost the same as you remembered, but there was a cold gaze in his eyes that almost made him feel like a stranger. This wasn’t the warm hearted and cheerful person you used to consider a friend, he was a killer. Despite this, however, you couldn’t help yourself from falling for his familiarity, almost as if you could convince yourself the old San was still in there, somewhere.
“You never realize just how valuable life is until you are inches away from death,” he explained, “the adrenaline and the fight to survive, it almost feels like you are being reborn. The more I thought about it, the more I realized how corrupt the world we live in truly is, because no one really knows how to appreciate the life they are given until it is nearly taken from them. You may not understand it now but trust me my methods will help make the world a better place.”
“You’re killing people because you want them to appreciate life?” you questioned, wondering if he was actually being serious. There was no way a person's mind could be that twisted, right?
“You think I’m a killer?” San asked, not needing a verbal response since your glare was enough confirmation, “that’s where you’re wrong you know. I have not killed anyone, all of my games are survivable as long as the player has the will to fight for it. Those who failed the games basically killed themselves.” You wanted to argue that putting people in these death traps still made him a killer but he cut you off, “Seven people have won so far, seven people who had that will to live and had the chance to be reborn. They understand what it truly means to be alive and now they help me spread my message. You may not understand me now, but I really do hope that you will be the next.”
“So what, am I the next person that gets to be put in one of your death traps then?” you groaned, tugging at your restraints. San pouted a bit but shook his head.
“Your game began the minute you took the case from Detective Kim,” he explained, “you and I always seemed to have an understanding so I had hoped you would pick up on my clues and join without a fight, but you were far too stubborn to listen. Eventually I had to cut my losses so I had my apprentices plant fake evidence to finally get you here, it was the only way.” Your heart dropped a bit at the word apprentices, your mind immediately going back to Seonghwa and how he was the one who brought you here.
“So you’re telling me the whole time,” you trailed off.
“Seonghwa was working for me, yes, Mingi as well, they both survived my games and agreed to help with the cause and when you took over my case I knew I could use them to guide you in the right direction,” San explained. He took a moment to glance at a clock on the wall before sighing and making his way over to you. San rested his hands on the arms of the chair and used them to prop himself up so he was leaning over you, “As much as I have enjoyed our little chat I’m afraid we do not have much time. I really do like you Y/N so I will give you a choice. Join me and together we can help change the world for the better.”
“And if I refuse?” you challenged.
“Well then I guess we’ll have to play a game,” he hummed, leaning away from you, “The second I walk out of this room it will lock and a timer will start. Behind you are two doors, each with a different combination, one door will lead you to the exit, and the other will lead you to me. If you choose to leave then you will be free but you will lose your chance to catch me. If you choose to come after me, then you have a chance to learn the truth at the risk of your freedom. The combinations are hidden in this room and you will have exactly one hour to find them and leave through the door of your choosing, and trust me you don’t want to know what will happen if you run out of time.” San chuckled softly before pulling away and walking behind you, “This is your last chance to accept my offer Y/N, I would hate to lose you like this.” He waited for a moment but when you didn’t respond he sighed, “Very well, let the game begin.” You felt him place something into your hand, which you quickly realized was a key, before the door slammed shut and San was gone.
ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ
It didn’t take you long to unlock yourself, taking a second to rub your wrists as you stood up and made your way cautiously around the room. You did your best to stay calm and not look at the clock as you examined the doors and then looked around for the combinations, which you quickly realized were hidden on his tools. The question was, do you free yourself and turn your back on the case, or do you risk it all and try to go after San. The rational part of your brain was screaming at you to just get out of there and not look back, and yet you quickly found yourself moving on autopilot. Before you could really process what you were doing, you had entered the code for the door labeled “Truth” and ran through it, stepping into a dark hallway and letting the door lock behind you.
You took a moment to compose yourself before heading forward, placing your hands against the walls to help feel your way through the space. All the doors were locked until you came to one at the very end that was cracked open, revealing what looked to be a makeshift office space, with nothing but a desk and filing cabinet in the room. You poked your head through first, looking around for any sign of life before slowly stepping inside and making your way to the desk, only to gasp as you felt another body pin you to it.
“I knew you would come after me,” San whispered, spinning you around so that you were facing him. Your body was pressed between his and the desk, his arms caging you on either side as your eyes locked.
“I can’t let you get away with this,” you argued, trying to wiggle away from him but San was stronger so he held you in place.
“Come on Doll, you and I both know that’s not why you came after me,” he teased, “maybe it was at first but if that was the case now you would be fighting me harder.” He was right, even if he was stronger you knew you could at least hold your own enough to get him away or subdue him long enough to call for help. Yet you couldn’t bring yourself to actually fight him off, struggling against him enough to save your pride but not enough to actually push him off. “So tell me,” San continued, “why did you really come after me, was it because you were curious about my work? Or, was it because deep down you missed me?” Honestly, you weren’t even sure if you knew the answer, your body having reacted before your mind could catch up.
“This isn’t right,” you argued, reaching your hands up to push at his shoulders.
“And yet here we are,” he teased, backing up enough to wrap his arms around you and pull you closer to him. Your bodies pressed together and your arms instinctually made their way around his neck which made him chuckle. “I always knew you were special, you understood me in a way that no one else ever did. Stay with me, nothing will be able to come between us.” San leaned down until your lips were centimeters apart, his breath tickling your lips with every word. You tried not to give into him, knowing that this was wrong, but you also couldn’t deny the thrill that ran through you just from being near him. You had always cared for San when you two were partners, hell there was even a time where you could argue that you did have a crush on him. That was back then however, when he was the sweet and easy going detective that decorated his desk with mini plushies and would whine if you forgot to get him a pastry on your morning coffee runs. This version of San wasn’t like that, even if the allure was still there, he was cold, twisted, and a killer.
“I can’t do this,” you argued, “you’re not the man I once cared about.” You tried to turn your head away from him, but he gripped your chin to force you to look at him.
“Yes I am, behind all of this it is still me and I can prove that to you,” he whispered, “just let me show you.” When you shook your head again he huffed, loosening his grip for a moment before it tightened again, “Fine then, how about another game?”
“I already won your stupid game though!” you challenged.
“Yet you still haven’t learned,” he fought back, “the least you can do is give me a chance to convince you. If you don’t give in then I will go with you to the station and turn myself in, but if I win then you quit being a detective for good and you stay with me.” You gave him a questioning look, at this point more than positive that he had gone insane. However, if playing his dumb games meant putting an end to Jigsaw, then you were more than willing to oblige.
“Alright fine, deal,” you reluctantly agreed. You only had a moment to register Sans smirk before he was pulling you against him again and connecting your lips. One hand stayed pressed against your back to keep you against him, while the other tangled itself in your hair, tugging slightly to get a reaction out of you. The kiss wasn’t rough or forced like you had expected, instead it was gentle and passionate, like he wanted to take his time with you. His lips were surprisingly soft against yours, and you began to slowly melt against his movements. You kissed him back and allowed him to have more control, whining softly against his lips when he tugged a bit harder at your hair. Your own hands trailed down his body, tracing his shoulders and chest for a few moments before daring to go a bit lower. San groaned as he felt you palm him over his robe, tightening his grip on your hair and deepening the kiss as his own hand reached down to grab at your thighs and your ass.
All your resolve melted away at his touch and you found yourself giving into him completely, relishing in the way he invaded your senses. All rationality had left completely, replaced with an unusual desire as San explored your body. As desperate as he was, his touches remained soft and left you craving more whenever he pulled his hand away. San walked you back until you reached the desk, lifting you up enough to sit you on top of it and slotting himself between your thighs as he finally pulled away. You only had a second to catch your breath before you were pushed back slightly and pinned down by your hands. San hovered above you with a knowing smirk, taking a moment to enjoy your flustered expression before leaning down to whisper directly in your ear.
“Looks like I won. Game Over!”

Good Omens graphic novel update: November 2024
The days are getting shorter and the end of the year is closing in, but it remains all hands on deck behind the scenes at GOHQ. Here's our monthly update!
Our storage lockers are filling up by the day as Kickstarter items continue to arrive. Here's a snapshot of a recent delivery of a whole lot of pins:
Speaking of pins, we've got the final design of the Terry Pratchett creator pin (Horsemen+) and we are thoroughly in love with it. A nice complement to the notebook from our last update.
Paul Kidby, as we speak, is working on new illustrations for the Obsidian Good Omens Illustrated Edition, as it whizzes its way to the typesetter. While we're not revealing his new work just yet, a reminder of some of the glorious art that originates from the initial illustrated edition:
And, no look at art is complete without some glimpses of the graphic novel itself from Colleen:
Amidst the flurry of arrivals, the A.Z. Fell & Co add ons are beginning to make an appearance at GOHQ - more on some of those next month. Colleen, post-recent work trip, shared her reading bundle, including her heavily annotated copy of Good Omens, with our favourite angelic bookseller's wares:
We're getting there. Little by little we're seeing the project that you helped us build click into place. We're excited for you to see the result.
Admin
A clarification:
Last month's update referred to postcard names for the Antichrist Tier - this was an error. It was, in fact, meant to be the Archangel Tier. So if you're an Archangel backer and have not submitted your cameo postcard name, or want to double check, please do email [email protected].
Beelzebub Tier
All Beelzebub backers have received an email regarding size details needed. If you've not received this, please check your spam folders as this will have come via email, and if you cannot find it, contact us either via [email protected], or message us via Kickstarter from the account you backed the tier from.
General
A reminder that a first port of call for queries is the project's FAQ page. Key information can be found there.
We'll be back in December with a graphic novel treat.
Until next time.
Stay up to date with Good Omens HQ: Linktree | Mailing list
p.s. We had mentioned that Good Omens HQ, the wider merch store, was coming, as all backers will receive a discount code upon its eventual launch. We've been working away the last year+ on new items, alongside those produced for the Kickstarter, that will be available in 2025. Our own Rob Wilkins appeared at a few events for Designing Terry Pratchett's Discworld by Paul Kidby last week sporting something festive, a bit earlier than 2025, so here's a little p.s. to share it with you, in case you missed it!

A new edition of the Illustrated Good Omens you say 👀 (not to be confused with the GO Graphic Novel :D)

Oh boy oh boy its the discjude official COVEN bingo card!!! not many are about the coven themselves because i uh uh don't know too much about them but yeah. I've put a brief explanation of each of these under the cut (because a few are vague) (WARNING its a lot):
Lady Lesso mentioned: this one sort of coincides with "hester true evil speech". I reckon she's important enough to the witches to warrant a mention. Also. I think all of the Lessos might be relevant but I talk about that in my predictions
Obligatory Sophie cameo: she's Soman's favourite. She's showing up
Political commentary: based off of his substack, I don't think Soman will go too overt with it, but I think there'll be a more roundabout one. I'd love to see him address the fact that he wrote in that homophobia is a thing in SGE. Soman if you can hear me
Drag race reference: He's done this a lot before, in QFG mostly, and I think he'll do it again
TCY acknowledged: this could be like a "haha yeah you remember how the storian almost got destroyed? that was kinda crazy aha". I have a horrible feeling that he's going to completely skip over that part of canon
Hester gives a speech about "true evil": i mean come ooonnnnnnn. I also think this'll include something about evil love that contradicts the canon about it
No blatant fatphobia regarding dot: Soman phased this out in TCY I think he'll have stuck with it
Rats are, somehow, back. Not explained: Japeth killed at least one of those things and I genuinely think Soman will have forgotten it
Events of R+F acknowledged: ties into my predictions a bit, but I reckon the setup regarding neverland and the other stuff in Fall might come up
I'm right about my predictions: I think the entire thing looks very aquatic themed, and there's a lot regarding evil water stuff, so a) the mermaids are relevant b) the saders are (still) relevant c) the lessos are relevant. that's the big three in my opinion. I can't wait to be horrifically wrong
Storian still at fault: i mean. name one book where it isn't. and you cant say OTK that doesnt COUNT
Symbolic ending of the series thing: I want the storian dead. thats what this one means
Obligatory tagatha: come onnnnnnnnn
There is at least one twink: yeah. not much to say here
Vaguely pub-style setting: this one also includes "why is everything british" because i said so
None Japeth: Japeth is mentioned by name exactly no times. I'd love to have faith but I really don't
Tennis reference: I fucking CAUGHT Botic being a tennis player's surname in the prequels. he's GOING to try it again
Colour/lighting symbolism: have a draft rn about colour symbolism in SGE and I think Soman might lean into it
At least one snake: please i want to feel something
hestadil real: come ON he's doing this every tiktok post about coven has had the hestadil tag he's doing this
Aric is referenced: goes with my predictions and lady lesso being mentioned. I hate to say it I think he's far more likely to be referenced than Japeth
Big unanswered question gets answered: the BIG!! one is the Aric Dad Reveal. I want to know for parallel reasons and I think it could happen. maybe
no wait! We'll use the power of friendship: speaks for itself. something like this happens
major character death: goodbye dot. im being fr I think she's dying in coven
Thank you dearly to @liketwoswansinbalance for some of these entries I really struggled to think of some. Also no I'm not convinced of my predictions. But it'd be nice. right
#sge#tsfgae#school for good and evil#the school for good and evil#sfgae#the school of good and evil#coven sge#this isn't really japethposting#yeah im not convinced of half of these. but a they can dream

in your opinion, what’s the best sam wilson comic run?
So, a few disclaimers:
I haven't read a huge percentage of Sam's comics. There's so much I haven't read. He's been around since the 60s. There's a lot to read and I'm nowhere near an expert.
So much of Sam's back catalogue is very racist. Anyone who's read a lot of old marvel won't be surprised by this. We're going into this with the assumption that we're all adults here. We're mature readers who are able to parse caricature and trope, understand the popular attitudes at the time that led to their inclusion, and understand that this writing and art being congruous with its place in history doesnt absolve it of anything. We learn context to better understand things, not to excuse them. We're able to recognise and critique what ought to be critiqued and also appreciate the things that do work.
Perhaps surprisingly, this problem doesn't get better over time in a linear way like you might expect.
No sam run is perfect. All of them have flaws and are worthy of criticism. Again, we're mature readers and all that. Many individual comic issues are very good for sam, but they're mostly scattered around the place.
PART 1: Reading Guides
This section was supposed to link to a bunch of Sam comic recs but tumblr is functionally unsearchable. But there's a few recs here, and a reading guide here.
So, let this post also be a call to action for anyone who has a reading guide! Link it! Send it to me and I'll share it! Make. Tumblr. Usable.
For my part, I've been slowly making my way through his appearances chronologically, and also keeping up with his new stuff for the last few years. There's a reason for that approach, which we'll get to in Part 3.
For reference, this is a very detailed list of Sam's comic appearances (probably too detailed, and contains a lot of wordless cameos, and I do hate that website and can't guarantee its not missing anything). This might be useful to refer back to when hopping about through different storylines etc. They're listed by volume number, which is annoying. It's easier to search for comics by the year they started in.
PART 2: Sam's Solo Series
The bulk of Sam's appearances are in supporting roles in Steve's comics. He's also been present in many Avengers runs, but mostly not in a prominant role.
But for now, a list of most of the comics where Sam is a main character, red for solos, blue for ensemble:
Captain America (1963) #117 onwards
He's not in every issue, but he gets actual attention as a protagonist at times so it made the list. Various writers over the years.
Marvel Premiere (1972) #49
Random oneshot with a theme about free speech. It's not good, but it exists and he's the lead. By Mark Evanier
Falcon (1983) #1-4
Sam's first solo title, a mini series. By Jim Owlsey
Marvel Fanfare (1996) #1
"Captain America and the Falcon, together again... for their final adventure!". It's got his name on the cover. Have not read. Assume it's bad, lol. By Jaimie Campos.
Captain America and the Falcon (2004) #1-14
Steve and Sam. Technically sam is a main because he's in the title. By Christopher Priest.
Captain America and the Falcon (2011) #1
Sam and buckycap one-shot. By Rob Williams.
All-New Captain America: Fear Him Infinite Comic (2014) #1-6
Another limited series, iirc there's too much Ian Rogers in it for my liking. By Dennis Hallum
All-New Captain America (2015) #1-6
Samcap, by way of Rick Remender.
Captain America and the Mighty Avengers (2015) #1-9
Hey it's Sam leading the avengers, by Al Ewing.
Captain America: Sam Wilson (2015) #1-24
Samcap again, different title, different author, generally better. By Nick Spencer
All-New, All-Different Avengers (2016) #1-15
Once again, "main character" is a stretch here. But here's sam cap and the avengers. By Mark Waid
Falcon (2017) #1-8
Little solo run, by Rodney Barnes
Falcon & Winter Soldier (2021) #1-5
Limited series about bucky. Sam is also there, retconned into being a therapist so that he look after the most special of boys. By Derek Landy
Captain America: Symbol of Truth (2022) #1-14
Recent solo run. By Tochi Onyebuchi
Avengers (2023) #1-?
Ongoing avengers title, sam gets featured sometimes. Includes the Blood Hunt event. By Jed McKay
Sam Wilson, Captain America (2025) #1-5
Sam's current solo title. So far, a resolved 5 issue arc, no idea what's next for him. By Greg Pak and Evan Narcisse
PART 3: Katatonicimpression's Guide to Sam's Eras
1969- mid 70s - Captain America and the Falcon: Hippy Era
Sam is introduced as a social worker who's into falconry (captain america (1963) #117). He's a pacifist, and politically more radical and to the left of steve. He's explicitly anti government and defends the necessity of violent protest. He's "anti nuclear" which is presumably synedoche for being "ban the bomb"/anti war although he is never allowed to express such sentiment. The politics of these comics were actively censored by the comics code, a mccarthy-era set of rules for limiting subversive/communist messaging in comic books.
On the one hand, it's fun that Sam is a lefty. On the other hand, this stuff is not necessarily handled well. His girlfriend Leila is written as a caricature of a Black activist and radical feminist. Both characters get uncomfortable stereotyped dialogue (all these comics are written by white men) and art (all these comics are drawn by white men).
Nevertheless, this era is what gives us Sam's key traits, expands on his lore (telepathic mutant, wakandan wings) and it's where you'll find figaro the cat. It's sam as a somewhat countercultural figure with internal conflict regarding working with steve, and his own perception within his community.
Late 70s - Captain America and the Falcon: This is why Reagan Won
So, marvel was really into exploitation movies in the 70s (that's why early Luke Cage is like that). And America was really into these narratives about "urban crime".... we know what they mean by that. This is the context from which marvel decided they needed to "fix" sam to make him more in line with their bizarre attitudes about what a black new yorker should be like.
Sam gets retconned into having a criminal backstory (specifically as a local gangster called "snap wilson"... this is where I paused my read through of the cap comics. It's bad you guys). Over time, Leila becomes more of a "belligerent housewife" trope, and still very much hypersexualised. The whole thing is awful. Then jack kirby takes over the series and forgets about sam for a while. Figaro is never seen again. Things get worse. End of an era.
80s - Rounding up the Lineup
Once we're into the 80s proper, sam mostly appears (aside from his one mini solo - which embarassingly features reagan as a character lol) as part of Steve's entourage. Often in a group with Dennis (yay), walker (boo) and jack (literally who cares). Occasionally he has things to do, often not a lot. Characterisation is all over the place tbh.
90s - Barely There
I haven't read many 90s comics with sam in them, and I swear most of the marvel I've read is 90s... but I guess that's mostly xmen. Sam, alas, doesn't get to hang out with those cool kids. He's around, turns up in Avengers teams and as part of Steve's entourage sometimes. He gets retconned into not being a mutant around the turn of the millennium.
00s - early 2010s - Barely There, Cursed Edition
The 00s are just the worst marvel era. I'll die on that hill. Anyway, for sam, this is some horrible art and amongst other things, the most regrettable "romance" arc sam ever had, featuring a character so problematic she is no longer in comics. A lot of ooc appearances and an "I can't be bothered to Google it" approach to his continuity and personality.
Late 00s into the early 2010s sees sam with an increase in credited appearances (the modern era of constant crossover events had begun), but they're mostly small and very much in a supporting role.
2014- late 2010s - Sam Cap 1.0
Woohoo sam matters again! And they undid the snap wilson retcon! Instead, all of that nonsense was false memories implanted by the red skull to fuck with him (oh yeah scifi!Hitler was involved in this whole thing). They still keep him as not a mutant unfortunately.
This era is where we meet joaquin, and sam starts an undefined relationship with Misty Knight. This is when he briefly has those two and Dennis as his team. He's also in the Avengers, where he has an affair with the mighty thor. Sam's slut era, if you will. He gets some decent writing for once, although not perfect. This era basically ends with secret wars/secret empire, when the presence of stevil (evil steve, aka hydra steve) causes him to spiral and eventually quit.
Late 2010s - 2022 - Falcon Sabbatical
Sam's the falcon again. Similar vibes to the cap 1.0 era in terms of characterisation (i.e. sometimes bland and shallow but not usually aggressively awful). This is where we get that falcon and winter soldier comic that I hated. But you might like it. Have your own opinions, as always.
2022 - Present - Sam Cap 2.0
This era starts a little bleak tbh. We have sam and steve as cap simultaneously, but with marvel clearly caring more about steve and publishing a ridiculous amount more of him. Sam's series is symbol of truth, which is okay. I didn't love it but again, form your own opinions. That all culminates in the "cold war" event that was (imo) bad, and had nothing to do with sam either way.
Then we have mckays avengers (2023) which mostly characterises sam well. But it also lacks something in how it utilises his powers and idk... like.. it feels like mckay wanted steve and is just not that interested in sam? But it's not awful. I'd highlight #4 for the sam and tchalla interactions (that are a direct consequence of their scenes in symbol of truth) and #25 which is last months issue (and presumably next month will also be sam focused).
We also have the avengers united infinity comic. The "beware the dreamer" arc (#36-45) by justina Ireland is a solid run for sam. The issues after that are fine. I would warn any sam fan (or any Black reader) that the opening arc by Derek Landy depicts sam being violently beaten in a way that is viscerally uncomfortable to read. It's also a badly written arc. Even if you are comfortable with the violence, the writing fucking sucks.
We also have his most recent solo which is a 5 issue arc. It's okay. Good bird energy.
Samcap 2.0 is an odd vibe. There's a sense of obligation to it, that they made him cap again to be synergistic with the MCU. But at the same time, as I've talked about to no end, it's a good thing that they did it. He's better utilised as cap. He's still with Misty, and still has Joaquin. He's got his frenemies (to lovers arc iktr) with t'challa, and has a growing friendship with Ororo, which is nice to see. There's also his cousin Billie (Wilhemina) and Josiah X (isaiah's son, Eli's uncle)
My point?
I think if you're looking for Sam comics that are free from the very obvious nonsense, then stick with post 2014 stuff. However, as I mentioned with that infinity comic, even stuff from the last year can be staggeringly offensive. Additionally, I do think that a lot of what's needed to really understand Sam as a character is in the early 70s, despite a lot of jank.
PART 4: Answering the Actual Ask
I would want to revisit his 2015 solo (spencer) before recommending it with my whole chest, because while I like a lot of its art (save me daniel acuna save me), it does have some rough patches writing wise.
I feel like the answers you seek are probably in that 2014-17 era.
Unfortunately the only things I've read recently enough to recommend with a fully formed opinion are from the last few years. I would say (assuming you're pirating these), give symbol of truth and avengers 2023 a go, and his 2025 solo. I'd avoid the Captain America crossover events from the last few years, they're not worth it.
Then do what we all do, which is jump around for a bit, then dive in super deep at whatever piques your interest.
This has reminded me to continue my read through of the 1963 title, if nothing else.

Have you watched the season 2 premieres of Hamster and Gretel?
I HAVE!!! Im assuming you want to know what i thought of em so spoiler warning for any dwampyheads who havent watched it yet. LOOK OUT!!!! also this is long as hell so be careful
Hakuna Ma Kevin
ok first and foremost. the ANIMATION WAS INCREDIBLE I WAS SO SHOCKED.. The budget mustve been crazy everything was so smooth. It really impressed me.. especially the action scenes and the hair movements. it was all super good
his va did a great job of being like annoyingly calm. its so kevin to somehow take a relaxation camp way too seriously (also the fact his life was so ruined by his date with hiromi flopping that he had to go on a 2 week retreat to find inner peace).
i was actually really interested in how they were gonna tackle that but a timeskip makes sense.
skip past kevins initial extreme misery and leave it up for the audience to make up. i am still curious as to what his friendgroup looks like because. did thjey stop hanging out. ARE hiromi and kevin too awkward to see eachother. anthony and fred are children of divorce. its so sad. well we'll see what happened eventually
It was great to see veronica hill back again too i missed my queen. i hope she finds love on the open sea.
actually speaking of that i was so sure that that was gonna be the boat from that sinking feeling and it was going to change the trajectory of the dwampyverse timeline forever but i think that was just a tease or a really really vague reference
the villain was also incredibly funny. great voicework too im sure it was some guest voice or something that i just dont recognize because it just feels that way to me.
great guy hope he comes back. and the reocurring THERE ARE NO LAWS ON INTERATIONAL WATERS BABY was actually funny.
also i cant not mention the CANON DWAMPYVERSE LESBIANS were BACK BABY women FIND EACHOTHER AT CLAM FEASTS ITS REAL AND TRUE.
it really made me happy to see that especially since i was so positive that we werent gonne get any rep from dwampyverse but obviously im WRONG and there are 2 beautiful women loving eachother and eating clams out there.
he played it so cool too. an ally.
I was almost disappointed the song was so early because i wanted a dramatic clam musical number but thats literally minimal complaint i have about that episode because it was such a strong opener.
also congrats to the newlyweds lunchlady and piano key vendor i think they will have a long lasting and beautiful relationship.
also when i saw those 2 old man leaving i was like wow are we getting a double whammy with gays but that was just a cameo. next time though
The Great American Telenovella
THE RETURN OF MY QUEEN. the opening in the hospital made me think it was gonna go in a completely different direction.
Both of these episodes had the songs super early on interestingly enough. i didnt even realise the Fresas De Amor theme song was THE song of the episode. i thought it was just a jingle..
i was really happy that we got a carolina-centered (well a stretch but she was there a lot) episode. i really like her.
the animation was back to normal in this episode too which was a little sad and maybe skewed my opinion of the episode a little bit but not TOO much. i think.
despite being tricked on where the episode was going the gimmick with making fun of telenovella tropes was really really fun.
it felt almost like a rarity investigates type thing where they get really into character trope LOL
the first lady they interrogated (THE VILLAIN IS THE VILLAIN!!) had such a great design too i really like her.. the whole bit with her abandoning the show to become a taco crunchies commercial star was great too she gagged me.
and also her being like ok ill just sit here and watch all my personal belongings burn. I giggled..i cant lie..i did giggle a little...
ok i cannot dance around it any longer but THE RETURN OF LA CEBOLLA. I REALLY DIDNT THINK ITD BE THIS EARLY I WAS SO HAPPY.
i saw her in the back as the lunchlady and i knew everything was going to be ok.. I was safe in her hands..
also her powers were used super clever i really enjoyed the Onion Fists. and also the dramatic shot of hamster getting concussed by an onion.
this kind of goes back to me being shocked the telenovella intro was the episodes song because i was really hoping we'd get another la cebolla number akin to fighting facial hair again
i also get another shot of her lying in a hospital bed. the one from her song is literally one of my favourite pictures ever so its great to have another equally as bizarre one
shes definitely maybe my FAVOURITE hng villain so it was great to see her again.
im biased so i wished she had gotten more time to shine but also i think that entire scene with hamster pretending to be her son la cebollito.
it was really funny karina did great with the line delivery there. i loved how she was like But why are you so small!??!?!?! i love that she runs on telenovella logic. a true method actor
i really did enjoy that episode but hakuna ma kevin really felt like the stronger episode to me maybe SOLEY because of the animation. im an artist im easily pleased. they cant just tease me with god tier animated hng and then rip it from my hands as soon as i get it. its ok...ill get over it..ill forget it soon... (single tear falls from my eye)
I HOPE THAT WAS READABLE i might do more of these for the rest of the episodes as they release its actually really fun. we;re so back. hng season 2 Is already peak. Its my favourite dwampy show for a reason. i am hng strongest warrior. WERE SO BACK

Are you at all excited for the upcoming Absolute Martian Manhunter book later this year? It'll be the most high-profile launch J'onn has been a part of for a long while, being DC's attempt at an "Ultimate Marvel" line. Given how the approach seems to be defined by removing elements of the characters' status quo - Superman has no Krypton tech, Batman is not a billionaire, Wonder Woman is the last of the Amazons etc. - I think there's a very real possibility that for J'onn they'd pivot in the opposite direction and give us a living Martian society. If only because J'onn has so little anyway, there's not as much to remove as with other members of the League, so the logical thing would be adding something back in to shake things up. I'm personally hoping for some combination of Weird and Noir.
I'm absolutely (heh) excited for it (because a new refreshing change even in an elseworld story is exactly what J'onn needs right now!) but also cautious and,,, concerned. DC's revealed the Absolute gimmicks for just about all the other solo supers but J'onn is essentially still a rumor? What's going on there? I was also concerned when Superman's Absolute gimmick was supposedly "he'll be more alien than human" "he doesn't have a fortress of solitude, no Kents, etc" which,,, sounds a lot like J'onn tbh but we'll have to wait and see. Sometimes writers do this thing where they try to do something new with Superman and it's just re-worked J'onn lore. And J'onn lore is fundamentally flawed so in turn that take on Superman doesn't work, but that's just me with early concerns.
Ooh! That's a good point actually! That feels like the most logical shakeup they could do, and YJa helped warm people up to the idea of a living Mars (which I also agree would spice things up and differentiate J'onn from Clark more). And I'd absolutely (heh) love more supernatural-weird-noir for J'onn! We finally had J'onn play into being a martian detective in the 2019 Identity run, but it was more cop drama than detective noir which I would love to see. My only addendum to the idea of a living Mars as an Absolute gimmick is, since YJa popularized this already, what else will this take do to innovate on that idea? My personal wish list is:
Revitalize J'onn's cast system (a mix of old and brand new characters. Don't just make him watch tv to care about humans. Give this martian relationships!!)
Figure out his themes outside of grief!! (I love sad Martian man but he needs to do more than that! It's been stagnating his character)
No Justice League stuff or other superhero cameos/team ups. (J'onn NEEDS to prove he can stand on his own as a solo character so he can stop being pigeonholed as the League's heart or therapist.)
Fresh new take on Martian world building (please get rid of Martian racism, it's dumb and never made sense. It's a shapeshifting society and the idea of characters like M'gann essentially "greenfacing" to "pass" is so weird)
Critical reimagining of J'onn's relationship to justice (we need to get rid of or critically examine his relationship to copaganda.)
Integrate Blackness more thoroughly into his character (CW Supergirl and that one Nubia Coronation special comic are still the only takes that have done this. Come on guys!!)
More thorough reflection of J'onn's multiple identities (undoubtedly what makes J'onn special. But the comics rarely dig into what it means for J'onn to be multiple people. I would love it if his identities [especially the racialized ones] weren't treated as so,,,disposable.)
Ma'alefa'ak please (I just want to see him again I don't even care if they do a bad job. However all I ask is he be a green martian and J'onn's twin again. And a slutty design.)
The last time we saw a big overhaul to J'onn's character was the New 52, and the major flaw of that run was that it had no clear thematic intention to how it interpreted his character. So we ended up with just a bunch of references and a convoluted edgy story that doesn't help J'onn become a self sustaining solo character. The Absolute line is the perfect platform to revitalize him as a character, but I hope the writers can think in the long term to combat his foundational issues.
#askjesncin#jesncin dc meta#martian manhunter#all this to say I am still very excited about J'onn Absolute title! But I want to actually hear from it ;_;#“what would u do jesncin if u were in charge of it” I'd canonize Sons of Mars. That's it that's the comic#also insane of Aquaman not to have an absolute run?? idk the guy had his own movies surely you'd put more effort in him

....speaking of the Mangkwan/Mangkuan clan being confirmed to the the ash clan, though, I wonder if we'll get an easter egg cameo of Ateyo and Artsut 🤔
I highly doubt the events of the comic would be directly mentioned, since I'm pretty sure Cameron or Izzo or someone has stated somewhere that while the comics are canon, they don't want anyone to need to read them to understand what's going on in the movies; they want the plot of the movies to be able to stand on its own for the general audience without requiring context from "extra" material like the comics and game. Which means that major, direct references to the comics/game/etc are very unlikely.
But a small detail like some familiar faces in a crowd for dedicated eagle-eyed fans to spot? That's certainly not out of the question...🤔

Omg they're treating Lestat like an IRL rockstar, this is GENIUS! This is exactly what we wanted when Long Face came out--everyone was like: AMC, put the effing TVL soundtrack on Spotify already! Full music videos on Youtube, like Queen of the Damned's OST did with Korn! Do it WELL in advance of S3, that way we can already know all the songs and sing along during pre-show events, and as we watch any cameos featured during the show itself. DUH! PROMOTE the ROCKSTAR!
So.....you're telling me we'll get to see Lestat featured at FearFest this Halloween, too? That had better be what you're telling me, AMC.
In-show, on-ground, custom media campaigns--I want SO MUCH COVERAGE of Lestat's tour istfg.
Soundchecks on the new season--we're about to be SO FED. 😭
SHOPPABLE CO-BRANDED CONSUMER PRODUCTS & IN-WORLD INTEGRATED CONTENT, LFG!
Last year I bought AMC's TVL tshirt and wore it for Halloween with the fanmade Loustat earrings I bought at ComicCon, and got to geek out with IRL people in the fandom, it was great! I want jewelry, bags, scarves, stickers, the works!
Uhhhhh....we do? I ain't never seen the fandom referred to as The Coven. 😅 Wtf is going on?
Woahwoahwoahwoah-- Not to jump to conclusions, but will Rolin still be the showrunner for IWTV? Is Steinbeck just his side hustle in-between IWTV seasons? Cuz y'all already dragged your feet making us wait between seasons, I really don't wanna know that your attention's on other stuff after y'all blue-balled us for 2 years.
Y'all shoulda BEEN done that--it was effing impossible to watch IWTV anywhere for the longest time, and there's plenty of places it still doesn't air. DO BETTER.
But yeah, this all sounds freaking exciting, after the CONTENT DROUGHT y'all put us through, AMC!
[EDIT]
There's this cool Info Sheet circulating for the Adweek article breaking down all these bits--IDK who made it though.

Some Important Parts of Tim Minear's Interview
"Some of these fan communities do not reflect, at all, what the mainstream audience is reacting to..like 911 and it will cloud you. It will affect what you do. And if you're writing to just get praise from the people being mean to you--that's a mistake." I agree. Don't feed the obnoxious and the entitled.
Tim has always done what he wants to do on 911.
Tim made the mistake of getting into the fans and fan sites after he returned to 911. Tim did exactly what he wanted to do on season 7 and he doesn't think that fandom affected the season.
Tim noted that he likes speaking to fans. But he noticed that EVERY private conversation he had with a fan ended up on X. He adds that people are using that to bludgeon and hurt another fandom subsection. He doesn't like that. And frankly, I don't either. Same thing with the cameos. You can post about what was in the cameo or reference it. But they're meant to be private. And this applies to everyone. I don't care what you ship. I know people got excited by both. But let's relax and stop there. On an emotional level, he understands that people feel ownership of character. A lot goes into a particular story and it won't please everyone like an actor going on her honeymoon, or something that requires adjusting or crafting a new story.
But people are now saying FU, or death threats to him. NOT OK.
He unplugged from Twitter (?) and hasn't read anything since before the finale.
Tim says the Vertigo (Eddie) story needed two more episodes. But he was really limited. Tim liked sometimes not doing cases on 911 Lone Star. So he liked playing with the characters because on 911 the cases sometimes overtook the character story (Maybe we'll get a balance of this in season 8). He is also very hands-on in the editing room. Tim came back AFTER Athena and Bobby left on what Tim called their "titanic cruise." And he likes telling stories that start with 1 thing and then flashes back. Talks about the scene where Athena is in a session with Frank.
This was all from the first 30 minutes.

listened to this stream here's what i haven't seen in other media outlets.
Under cut for spoilers
About Dark Heresy
Not all companions have been introduced, some are still missing.
Party of six members will stay.
We'll learn what the tyrant star is, which hasn't been revealed in the dark heresy corebook.
No momentum system, instead the morality system will have an impact on combat. Some enemies might run away if they're losing, or surrender to you.
Making your enemies panic is a mechanic and friendly fire in enemy teams is a consequence of that.
You can make builds around the morality system.
Increased map verticality, more oportunities to jump from different levels of the same area.
Aiming to make Dark Heresy slightly shorter than base Rogue Trader, but with more variety in dialogue.
More or less the same number of romance options as Rogue Trader.
Some origins will stay, some will be new ones. There are plans about turning one of the origins into an archetype. No solid info on archetypes yet.
On the table to have different degrees of success in investigations. You can simply solve the mystery or go above and beyond and discover every caveat and get rewarded for it.
"No comments" on cameos for Rogue Trader characters but Dark Heresy will be happening around the same time period.
Same people writing the soundtrack for Dark Heresy, with some new members on that team.
Voidship combat like in Rogue Trader is unlikely to come back given the size of the new ship and the investigation system taking priority. This could change though.
About Lex Imperialis:
Solomorne described as "brutal". He's a good example of what arbites are usually like.
His jaw is so big in model that at some point it was sticking out of the helmets lol.
"Things swing midways" about being possible to corrupt Solomorne and change his alignment.
"The consequences are not guaranteed" about petting the dog.
Owlcat felt like the combat in Rykad Minoris was too repetitive so that's one of the reasons why you meet him there.
Like Kibellah, there will be a mission where you play as Solomorne along with his squad.
We're visiting a feudal world. They'll be talking about it before the release.
Only two new portraits, made for the arbites origin.
As far as the community manager is aware, the level cap won't increase.
Familiars can be named.
Argenta is getting a new sororitas helmet.
Pasqal integrates really well with the overseer.
No more crossovers planned with Darktide. Releasing arbites at the same time was a coincidence.
About the third and fourth DLCs:
Meeting Trazyn is 100% confirmed.
The third DLC is likely to be exclusive for act 5, with some sprinkled info in the previous acts.
They will try to pay attention to the chapters that get less attention (probably referring to 4 and 5).
People were wondering about the Procession of the Damned in the fourth dlc becoming a randomly generated deep dungeon like the ones found in Pathfinder but that is not the plan.
A nerf on levelling will come in the future. New difficulty level is on the table, along with economy limitations.

Nearly always! Sometimes I get distracted and then forget for a while, but I usually always end up responding eventually. (Sometimes I won't respond if the comment is an emoji or something similar that contains very little for me to respond to.)
6. Angstiest Ending?
I think Sunrise might be my angstiest story - the ending is fairly happy, but it's not the fluffy happy ending that I tend to prefer.
7. Fic with the Happiest Ending?
I think they're all pretty happy. But I really like the ending to Queen of the Seven Kingdoms
8. Do you get hate?
I recall getting the occasional nasty comment, but nothing crazy.
9. Do you write smut?
Yes!
10. Do you write crossovers?
I haven't really done a full-blown crossover, but Discworld's Death has a cameo in A Christmas Carol
11. Ever had a fic stolen?
I've seen a couple re-posted at different sites, but usually they still refer to me as the author. So they've been distributed without my permission, but no one has tried to steal credit. (As far as I know.)
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't think so?
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes! An Inconvenient King and the sequel is cowritten with @bluecichlid - good times!
14. All time favourite ship?
My most recent OTP is Stannis/Sansa, and it's the one that has inspired me to write the most fic, so I think we'll go with that one.
15. WIPs you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
There were two sequels planned for An Inconvenient King, and I actually have completed drafts, but I doubt they'll ever get edited and posted. C'est la vie.
16. Writing Strengths?
Smut that isn't too cringe? Idk.
17. Writing Weaknesses?
I'm terrible at writing descriptions/setting the scene. Mainly because I'm not a very visual reader and tend not to care what any given location looks like. I'm happy just knowing that it's a living room/kitchen/restaurant/whatever. I don't need any information about the decor that isn't directly relevant to the plot. Hahaha.
18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?
I don't mind it when I encounter it, but prefer that the author includes a translation if it's not something that can be easily understood through context. I can't remember if I've done much of it, tbh.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter. Experiencing the three year summer was very special at the time, and even though JKR's decision to become a terrible person has since soured the whole thing, I will remain grateful to the fans that made that time period in my life so unique.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Probably a toss up between Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and Sunrise. The former because I'm just so proud of beating that monster of a story into submission, and the latter because it was inspired by @emynithilien's wonderful story: To Play it With You and I really enjoyed playing in the AU she created.
Tagging everyone who wants an excuse to do this!

Things I Wanna See In Rats SMP 2:
- Ofc the majority of the main cast returning, and I hope that those who were mainly asleep during the 1st season get a chance to be more active this time around, like Lizzie who was too busy at the time. Jimmy has already said that he will not be returning for Season 2, but we've yet to have confirmation on anyone else except for Oli, Owen and Apo
- Return of the SQUIIIIIIID
- More Martyn lore; especially because the last we saw of him he jumped into a portal
- Continuation of unfinished storylines, like Rusty and the weeping angels
- A mix of new characters and characters from the first season. Owen and Apo have both said how they're going to be playing new characters, and Oli said Trash Rat will probably be making a return, but we are still not sure on everyone else. This will likely be influenced by if the cc wants to continue their characters story or wants to play as a different character this time around
- For the returning characters, I'd love to see outfit changes / alterations, presumably either to hint at what happened to them in the time between the two seasons and / or influenced by French fashion considering where the 2nd season is taking place
- It's been hinted at that there will be new additions to the cast, and while I'd be happy with basicly anyone, I think it'll be more likely to be those who have participated in the previous season. Whether its people like Geminitay and Joel who voice acted NPC's or people like Tommy and Watermunch who played guest characters but might take on a different character, likely a rat, this time around. There is also a possibility of playtesters and those who controlled the npcs, like the cats, being added; such as MPR
- The 1st season lasted for around 12 weeks, starting in October and ending in January. It has been confirmed that Season 2 will be longer than this but we were not told exactly how long it'll go on for this time. Hopefully it's long enough to last until February; mainly because Valentine's day is in February and I wanna see what the cast do to celebrate, especially in regards to the couples
- Character arcs; continued ones from the 1st season, new ones from the time between the seasons and ones that we'll see in real time in the 2nd season
- Since people are speculating the new season will be in a hotel, it would be interesting to see npcs rotating with new ones checking in and the old ones checking out after a couple days
- Only Owen had a planned canon death in regards to the infested boiler room, so I think it would be cool if others did something similar if they wanted
- I'm guessing the life system will be replenished with the returning characters starting back on 3 but it would be interesting if they will be an explanation in-canon as to why they now have 3 lives again. Or, they could switch it up and give them more or less lives. Perhaps they'll give the returning ones 2 lives so those who were on their last one will be back up to 3, and those who died less will be rewarded in a way with having more than 3 lives to spare with this system
- Cameos; I've already mentioned how I think it would be fun to have the return of the squiiid, but it would also be cool to have other characters have a cameo or even just a painting that references them
