sometimes i feel like a lot people like to mischaracterize yusaku and yukiko and the family dynamic of the kudo just for the sake of shinichi angst like-

man i get it. i like the dramas. i LOVE shinichi angst. i know this family have problems and this was part of gosho's terrible writing. but yall didn't have to act like they don't care about him or didn't raise him AT ALL. where do you think his crazy set skill coming from?? who teach him at hawaii?? who bring him there??? yukiko and yuusaku is MADE to give shinichi those skill and surround him with his interest. literally the only reason yukiko doesn't bother to teach shinichi how to cook probably because he just doesn't want to (that's why she teach akai instead lmao)
