I absolutely adore your dogs, and think mushing might be one of the coolest sports but I just read ‘24km run’ and am absolutely cracking myself up about the image of 8 year old me (living in rural western queensland and having owned one JRT mix) looking at a malamute in a dog book and going “I’m getting one of those”

We had an Iditarod unit in school when I was like...7 and I was def that kid that looked at the local husky teams and went “I want that”, but alas my parents were Golden Retriever people so I spent summers doing recreational water retrieval and trying to hook our dog up to a razor scooter.
