Everyone talks about how weird and jarring it was to have Evil Starscream in Season 2 of Earthspark, and it was, but can we talk about how weird and jarring he was in Season 1?
His first appearance: in "Decoy", Ravage runs by his cell as Starscream looms ominously in the shadows, cackling evilly while his red eyes glare at us.
Tumblr media
Then he briefly appears in a flashback in "Warzone" as part of the Decepticon ensemble trying to get the Allspark.
THEN, in "What Dwells Within", Megatron is suddenly like "Starscream is the absolute worst! grrr I just wanna hit him" and Optimus is like "nooo don't hit him despite your Long History" and mind you this is the first time the viewers have heard the name "Starscream" in the show. And then the narrative is like "Starscream is kinda selfish! Because he had bad role models like Megatron. Anyway, he helped a kid and now he's flying away. You will not see him again until the finale."
Like??? What happened to the evilly cackling guy with the big important intro??

And oh god the reveal.  Maybe Magneto finally got his dates and order and realized “oh shit, that's my kid”.  Maybe Ultra magnus sent a email which sent the entire us government into a panic because how the fuck did this escape notice.  What if when Magneto figured it out he tried to talk to them.  He calls them by their birth name, not the name the government gave them to protect them, or the name their robot family gave them, the name he gave them.  “I go by Fearless now, Eric” (man imagine getting disowned by your own kid).  As far as the X-men are concerned, their favorite telenovela just got better.  As for the lost light, oh boy get ready for headcanons.  Running on the idea that Cybertronians are an asexual species, their whole family units are created through adoption.  To create that bond with someone is a very important and almost sacred choice.  To abandon a child you chose to take in for a selfish reason is borderline unheard of.  Even with IDW Ophelia, Megs left her behind originally to protect her, shitty yes, but still an action born out of the desire to keep her safe, still lining up with the importance of these bonds to cybertronians.  Needless to say, the general opinion of magento went from “eh, whatever, we have megatron on board.” to “fuck this one guy in particular”
Once I get enough energy and patience, I will write a longer piece on this AU.
Hope you enjoy!
AU: Magneto is Fearless's Dad (part 2)
SFW, Angst, Familial, Platonic, Mention of X Men 97, Human reader
MTMTE/ XMEN 97
It had been a couple of days since Fearless’s failed assassination attempt and there were still no leads.
A couple of villains were called into question, even some government officials, but nothing solid.
But that wasn’t the most important thing.
The Fearless and Magneto beef was still raging on strong.
Finally at 1 in the morning, Magneto realizes why Fearless looked so familiar.
He had known their mother… they looked like…
Like the child he left behind all those years ago...
…Oh, this made too much sense it hurt.
The Brick of Parenthood had finally found its target.
He always thought that they would have led a normal life on Earth, not galivanting through space with giant alien robots, one which was a genocidal ex warlord.
Take it for his kid to do something strange and reckless.
Seeing the little kid he knew now all grown up sent a pang of guilt through his chest.
Then came a thought... arguably a terrible idea.
Talking to them.
There was without a doubt in Magneto’s mind that they knew who he was, it explained in the pained look they gave him at times.
He needed to talk to them, now.
Fearless was happily talking with Morph when he came, asking to talk to them in private.
They don’t like the look the older man is giving them.
It looked like pity and… pain?
They warily agree.
The pair makes their way into a room in the mansion. Fearless crosses their arms. Fearless: “So, what did you want to talk about?” Magneto: “… It has been a long time since we last saw each other, hasn’t it?” Fearless stiffened. Fearless: “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Magento: “I did not raise a liar.” Fearless’s eyes widened and unconsciously takes a step back. Magneto: “My little Lionheart… it has been a long time.” The name brought flashbacks of a little kid reaching out for a hug to their tall father. They shake their head. Fearless: “I go by Fearless, Eric. That is the name I go by now, the one MY Family gave me. I expect you to at least have the decency to respect that.” Magneto: “… Fine then… Fearless.” Fearless huffs as they tighten their arms around themselves. Fearless: “Was this what you wanted to talk about? Because if it is your wasting your time and mine.” They turn to open the door behind them, but the metal locks lock themselves. Fearless: “…Unlock the doors Magneto.” Magneto: “Not until we talk.” Fearless: “What is there to talk about?” Fearless tries opening the door with no luck. Magneto: “It has been years since I’ve last seen you child.” Fearless: “And who’s fault was that, Eric. Now if you can be so kind as to open the door—” Magneto: “You didn’t have the X gene Fearless. Your birth stood against so many things I stood against at the time. I had to leave you. You must understand that.” Fearless: “I don’t have to understand Jack Magneto! Now let me out!” Fearless tries furiously to open the doors now, only for some metal sheets to block the door. Fearless: “Eric! Open the doors now!” Magneto steps forward as Fearless tries prying the metal themselves. Magneto: “You are going to hurt yourself like that.” Fearless continues to trying to pry the metal with their bare hands. Magneto: “You have to understand that when I left you—” Fearless: “UNDERSTAND WHAT!? That I wasn’t the perfect baby you wanted! That I didn’t fit in your ideal world?! Save me the speech Eric I know! I’VE KNOWN THAT SINCE THE DAY I FOUND OUT WHO EXACTLY MY FATHER WAS!” Tears were streaming down their face, but they stood tall with their fist clenched. A heavy silence filled the room. Fearless: “If you have any ounce of any respect or basic decency… let me go.” Magneto wordlessly let the metal sheets fall to the ground. Fearless wastes no time in bursting out of the room. Magneto sighs sadly from inside the room. Meanwhile in the room next door. Logan and Morph were trying to watch a movie when they overheard the conversation through the wall. Logan and Morph: “…” Morph: “…That was unexpected.” Logan: “…You owe me a 12 pack and 20 buck’s bub.” Morph: “Oh C’mon!”
And apparently those two weren’t the only ones who overheard.
Jean had seen a distraught Fearless running outside and decided to gently look inside their mind to see what could have possibly upset them.
It did not take long there after for the rest of the X men to find out about the new family drama.
There was a lot of talk between the team about Fearless and Magneto, but they never guessed something like this.
So many questions yet to be answered!
The drama!
The Angst!
Some members are kind of glad a plot twist happened in their new telenovela, but at the same time are sympathetic to the whole ‘messed up family bloodlines thing’.
Fearless was walking around having calmed down. They spot Magneto exiting the room and walking to their direction. This was at the same time Kurt and Rouge just so happen to be walking by. The pair walked a bit faster to get to Fearless’s side. Kurt: “Fearlezz!” Fearless jumped at the sudden noise but calmed down seeing the blue mutant. Fearless: “Primus Kurt, don’t scare me like that.” Kurt: “Zorry!” Rouge gently placed a hand on their back, guiding them to another direction. Rouge: “There’s a cool thing the boys wanted ta show ya.” Fearless: “Now? I mean sure! Cool, cool, cool.”
The real question now about the bots.
Did THEY know about this?
Only one way to find out!
Morph is sitting by Whirl in his holoform. Morph: “Has Fearless every talked about their family, like before going to space?” Whirl: “Not really. They don’t talk too much on all the Earthy stuff.” He raises an eyebrow. Whirl: “Why you want some information on them?” Morph: “Well, its more like we’ve just gotten some new information on them.” Whirl: “Like what?” Morph: “… Logan won the bet.” Whirl: “Which ones Logan again? Wait is he the gruffy one with the claws that thinks I know some guy name Deadpool?” Morph: “That’s him.” Whirl: “Oh okay then. Wait what did he bet on again? Hang on a second.” Whirl pulls out a list of the bets and goes down before stopping at Logan’s bet. Whirl slowly looks at Morph. Morph: “Turns out Fearless’s dad is Magento.” Whirl: “… Excuse me but WHAT THE—” Magnus, in his holoform, comes in. Magnus: “Whirl! What have we talked about that language!” Whirl: “MAGNETO IS FEARLESS’S EARTH DAD!” Magnus: “WHAT!?” Morph: “I feel like I made a mistake…”
News about Magento being Fearless’s biological father spreads amongst the bots like wildfire.
They go to the X men about more details about this.
They would have asked Fearless… but these past few days the resident human looked ready to drop dead and sob on the spot.
The Lost Light crew is absolutely furious hearing the implication of Magneto Abandoning Fearless at a young age.
It is explained to the mutants about the significant values chosen family had amongst Cybertronian’s.
To abandon one’s sparkling/ youngling/ or mentee at such a tender age was simply unheard of.
The bots and X men hear some yelling from a far. It was Fearless yelling at Magneto to leave them alone. Megatron is the first to move. The Earth shakes as the Ex Warlord now looms over Fearless, casting a long shadow over Magneto. Fearless looks surprised to see the mech. Fearless: “Megatron? What are you doing here in bot mode? Did something happen with your holoform—EEP!” Megatron scoops Fearless up with one servo and holds them firmly to his chassis. He sported a harsh glare at the man on the ground. Megatron: “When my child says to leave them alone. You. Leave. Them. Alone.” Cue gasps from X men in the background. The twists keep getting better and better. Fearless is still very confused. Magneto: “Your child?” Rodimus: “That’s right! His kid. A member of our crew and family.” The other bots soon start lining behind or beside Megatron. Megatron: “Do not let me catch you disrespecting their space again.” With that the bots turn to go to their ship. Megatron looks down to see Fearless trying to stifle a sob. He gently rubs a digit up and down their back. They began to shake like a leaf and curled even smaller against his servo. Megatron: “There, there… I’ve got you… I’ve got you… Your safe now Fearless… Your safe…”
The bots and Fearless were going to need a day to process this before returning back to the big problems at hand.
Especially Fearless…

My brother and I watched Earthspark recently (we haven’t gotten around to Season 2 yet, my bad on that), and honestly, it was kind of hard watching Season 1 again for me because I know things get ruined, never answered/elaborated on, or concepts aren’t capitalized on
You can’t fully enjoy Starscream because you know the writers are going to ruin him, I feel like the war and Megatron in particular’s place in it should have been explored more, Schloder and Alex I feel like could have been an interesting dynamic given they’re both mega Bumblebee fans (and Schloder’s proven to be a good guy and there’s no threat now), and how Bumblebee deals with the fact that now there’s two of them
But I think the thing that pisses me off the most, at least right now, is that we never find out what Soundwave’s deal is, and we will never know, especially because I don’t think the show’s coming back at this rate
Like I get he’s mostly a one-off, most of the Cybertronian characters are; like Arcee or Grimlock or Tarantulas or Swindle. But like, most of them only needed that one episode to get their characters across or to deal with their arcs, they didn’t need that much more to explore them
But meanwhile Soundwave has this incredible grudge against Megatron, and we never get an explanation in his episode as to why. Yes, Megatron is a traitor to the Decepticons, but no other Decepticon reacts nearly as bad as Soundwave (though honestly his betrayal probably should’ve been explored more with them), and if they react badly, that reason is explained, like with Starscream or Shockwave. So why is Soundwave so different?
It feels like because his treatment of Megatron is so different from the others, there’s a special reason why he’s so mad at him. But what was it? I feel like there was a story there, we just never got it
I think Soundwave’s initial episode was good for showing the situation Megatron finds himself in in current day, and the disagreements between him and Optimus, as I’m pretty sure this was our first look at the complicated GHOST situation, the problem is it’s not elaborated on afterwards
And I wouldn’t even necessarily call it all Season 2’s fault, because I think Soundwave probably should’ve gotten another episode in Season 1 explaining him and Megatron. His episode was in the first batch of episodes, and then he’s just sort of standing around in then background for the rest of the season, and it’s very distracting
But that doesn’t really matter, because from Season 2 onwards Soundwave is yet again never elaborated on, and by this point I don’t think we’re ever getting that backstory, especially as they’re not even on the same planet anymore
Honestly at the end of the day, Frenzy and Lazerbeak were probably more important characters than Soundwave, since they at least had 1 or 2 more notable appearances
Like honestly, I don’t even know why Soundwave never really did anything after his debut. I don’t think it’s for the same reasons as someone like Grimlock, who has a likely more expensive voice actor in Keith David. As far as I’m aware, Soundwave’s VA, Sean Kenin Elias-Reyes, isn’t particularly famous, at least not to the level of other people like Keith David, or Alan Tudyk, aka the voice of Optimus, like the VA probably isn’t too expensive to not bring back. And I’m going to assume VA work is more flexible than live action work, so schedule issues are presumably not the problem, unless it was something else I don’t know about
I think I’m rambling at this point, I’m not entirely sure what I’m saying or how coherent this is, and I’ve probably repeated myself way too much. The point is, Soundwave seemed to have some sort of special beef with Megatron, or at least one not elaborated on in his debut, which makes it seem more significant (probably because he was the first of the Big 3 Decepticon Command that we met, though Starscream was also teased), or at least something we would learn more about. But then we never got that, Soundwave never did anything important again, and it really pisses me off because I have to know what happened, but the show didn’t tell me, and now it will never tell me

I like this chapter from one of my ongoing projects, so I’m going to post it under the cut because that’s the kind of nonsense I can come up with when I’m in a really good mood.
Some of the dialogue is NSFW. And these guys are the same ones from Drift mini-series, in case you’re wondering. I just like writing continuity crossovers like this because I’m always entertained by the “What ifs?”
Not too far off were the organic alien traders that Deathsaurus had arranged to deal with, aboard their own ship. They were large creatures, roughly the same size of an average Cybertronian. They had lilac-colored scaly skin and olive-colored frills, as well as large pointy teeth.
Like the rest of their species, they were obsessed with body modification, to the point that many of them had additional appendages, such as extra limbs or tails. However, this culture-wide obsession caused multiple economic collapses since they traded and sold whatever they could for more mods. Eventually, they decided to sell their mercenary services to other races. However, they had a tendency to haggle the prices of their captured fugitives that eventually everyone in that particular star-system referred to them as “The Slavers”.
This particular crew of Slavers was reasonably sized. It was their first interaction with Cybertronians and they had heard so much about them. The Slavers' second-in-command approached his captain and said to him, “Sir, I don't mean to question your orders, but so you think that maybe we should just cancel this deal? I have a bad feeling about it.”
“Nonsense!” replied the captain, “The payoff will be very big, you'll see!”
“But all this effort just for a single robot?” asked the second-in-command. “It's not even the good kind of robot, it's one of those killer robots that have been at war with each other since creation.”
“When I took on this task, I was assured the robot in question is harmless because he's weaponless,” said the captain. “We're getting at $5 trillion if we bring it back alive. Or $15 trillion if it is alive and unharmed. Do you have any idea how this would affect our home if we succeed? Our planet will no longer be the most indebted in this star-system. We will be legends! Besides, if any others happened to be deactivated along the way, then we harvest whatever parts we can.”
Suddenly, they received a video call from Deathsaurus and the captain answered it. On the screen they saw Deathsaurus, a large fearsome blue robot with a beautiful face that had four bright vermilion eyes. His majestic disposition evoked both fear and awe, which was worsened by his attractiveness. Happy that the Slavers answered his call, Deathsaurus cleared his throat to say the universal greeting, “Bah-weep-graaaaagnah wheep nini bong!”
“What did he say?” whispered the second-in-command, baffled by the nonsensical greeting that sounded terrifying with Deathsaurus’ voice.
“I don’t know,” replied the captain with his hand over the microphone, “but if these ‘deformation robots’ address us as such, it means they don’t plan to kill us.” He spoke into the com, repeating the greeting while flashing a relaxed close-mouth smile.
Delighted that the universal greeting worked, Deathsaurus said, “We are a day or so from our rendezvous point.” Deathsaurus focused the camera on the missles he planned to trade, making sure the Slavers had a good clear shot of the inventory, “I'd like to see the cargo.”
The captain picked up his own com, asking for crew members to bring a single crate from the storage unit. Within a minute, a crew member, wearing a protective suit, arrived with a crate and opened it up to reveal the rare, pure nihonium crystals. Due to their radioactive and unpredictable nature, it was a quick viewing before closing up the crate again.
Satisfied, Deathsaurus said, “Excellent! I can't wait! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. See you soon.” The video call ended and the Slavers were unable to find Deathsaurus' frequency.
The crew member wearing the protective suit asked, “Wait, is that the $15 trillion robot? No wonder those Quintessons want him so badly. I'd shag that robot too, like damn.”
With an awkward smile, both the captain and his second-in-command exchanged quick glances. Deathsaurus was not their target. Although there was a similar bounty for him but the payoff was much less, in comparison, due to how dangerous he was; making him more undesirable to the Quintessons – but it was still pretty generous. Their target was another Cybertronian who was much more beautiful. Only the captain and his second-in-command had seen him once before. Since then, the robot's beauty has haunted both their dreams and fantasies. They completely understood why the Quintessons were willing to pay so much for it.
“No,” replied the second-in-command shaking his head, as he motioned for the crate to be returned to storage.
   “It’s another more beautiful robot.”
“More beautiful?!” asked crew member, “That’s impossible! There’s no way something sexier than that blue smooth-talking space penguin could exist.”
The captain, then showed him a photo of their true target on the screen. The crew member stared at the Cybertronian for several minutes before speaking, “Shit, man…he’s hot too. What the hell?! How is this possible?!”
“Oh, these are their faction leaders,” said the captain as he showed them pictures of Optimus Prime and Megatron. “I don’t understand their beef though. It seemed like they were allies in overthrowing the evil regime but then turned against each other. Perhaps they couldn’t agree which one would rule their home-world and they didn’t want to rule as equals. This is what their millions of years-old war is about.”
The crew member was in more disbelief, unable to process an adequate reply.
The second-in-command said, “They were once domesticated by the Quintessons, who somehow thought it was a good idea to keep the weaponized traits, instead of breeding them out.”
“These robots reproduce?” asked the crew member. “How? They don’t have any females or least I’ve never seen any, it seems like they're all males. I thought they were just made each other in automated factories.”
With a devious smile, the captain said, “The Quintessons turned their entire species hermaphroditic with their carefully calculated experiments. They intended this to be ‘efficient’ since any two of these 'deformation robots' could mate with each other but I consider it ‘kinky’. And our target is apparently the epitome of this evolution; he is everything the Quintessons' ancestors hoped to accomplish. I know it's tempting to want to haggle a higher price for him, once we succeed, but we mustn't. Knowing how those Quintessons are, we will lose everything if we even dare."
The crew member was more intrigued than he wanted to admit. (He was entertaining the thought of rawed by their pressurized penises but since they also had vaginas, he had no idea what he wanted to do anymore. He was overwhelmed by the options.) The captain and the second-in-command continued their conversation with the crew member, who hurried to tell the others about what he had learned.
The Slavers had an idea of what to expect from the Cybertronians. After all, the Quintesson emissaries they spoke to, told them everything they needed to know. What they learned was that the 4 million (or was it 6 million) year-old war between the factions was entirely the Quintesson's fault. The way they programmed the Cybertronians' ancestors to have poor aim and only fire lasers at each other, it was the reason it even lasted that long besides their immortality and desire to find new ways to repair their friends.
However, their target didn't have lasers, bullets, or bombs of any kind because he was intended to be a harmless loving pet. The Slavers were familiar with the target and “harmless” was not a word they could associate with him. In fact, much of the crew was dreading the moment they would finally come in contact with their target the so-called “loving pet”. As lovely and innocent as their target appeared to be, he had a sinister aura at times. This was the reason the sight of him haunted their dreams because one look into his doleful honey-colored eyes and they knew their mission was doomed.
Not wanting to dwell on their hopeless situation, the Slavers decided to make another call. This time it was answered by a visor-wearing minibot with friendly blue eyes. Since the Slavers were determined to capture their target, they used all the leads they could to get closer to him. Like Deathsaurus, they also used the universal greeting on minibot.
The minibot smiled and said, “Good, you made contact with Deathsaurus. You know the deal, you capture him and his crew for me and I will see if the chief justice will honor your request for a private conference with him.”
“Yes, please,” said the captain, “we have much to discuss in regards to wanting protection for our home.”
“I look forward to your success,” said the minibot, “but he warned, Deathsaurus and his crew are all formidable warriors. However, his crew has one weakness and that is their love for their leader. So if you manage to gravely injure and capture Deathsaurus, then the rest will do whatever you want if you promise to not take his life.” The minibot hung up the call.
The second-in-command looked at his captain, who had turned pale. He could no longer hide the impending feelings of doom he felt but he was a man of his word. The last thing he would ever do was to back out of the contract. His planet desperately needed the bounty from capturing that lovely doleful-eyed mechanical devil. He muttered to himself, "The payoff will be very big, you'll see!"

TF: Matrix concern rambling under the cut. It’s not a thing I plan on changing, but it is something I feel compelled to address in-series and that I think about a lot.
You can tell I’m procrastinating from doing chores because I’m very wordy.
ACTUAL Agatha Fan-Series Discourse Problems: Me constantly fretting that by creating a situation (in TF: Matrix and in other AUs) where Megatron and Starscream have an explicitly non-abusive power dynamic in both their personal and professional relationship that I’m somehow dismissing/erasing the severity of the usual Megatron/Starscream dynamic you get in most canons or that it comes off as OOC to have them working well together (which is honestly a really silly consideration bc they both still read as Megatron and Starscream even devoid of each other, but it’s a stupid fretting thing)
Don’t get me wrong, I still like the dynamic of them being at each other’s throats, and I especially love meta and different people’s takes on it, be they abusive, complicated, fucked up, ending in tragedy, etc etc, because it makes for a hell of a plot and a hell of a thing to explore, particularly among certain writers who turn it into an issue of morality and where personal morality collides with professional morality. It just doesn’t work in Matrix canon, because of how I made these particular versions of the characters.
...look, in TF: Matrix, if Megatron turned on Starscream there’s two outcomes- A: Starscream would be dead because Megatron isn’t gonna play games that could wind up with a seeker literally pulling his spark out and isn’t going to draw something like that out or B: Starscream would kill Megatron via strafing run or just straight up destroy him while he’s in recharge within’ the week and add his head to the collection of “heads of people who have betrayed me.” The collection also includes some of the Senate, a couple of Vosian higher-class he had a beef with, and like half of Sentinel Prime’s jaw.
The only third option is that Starscream would just cut and run but I don’t think he could resist not murdering Megatron or going down trying for very long. Starscream defines himself as a coward and is very loyal and very invested in Megatron despite the hardships he’s endured as a result, but his trust being betrayed by him after all that time would probably just have him be like “Wellp, time to murder.” Pretty much anyone else, he might outright flee and disappear, valuing his own functioning over revenge, but not in this case.
Megatron just genuinely likes Starscream, and knows that he’s more powerful with Starscream (I wrote a thing for TF: Matrix a ways back about their relationship basically boils down to “Greater than the sum of their parts” because they balance each other out very well) than without, as well as being loyal and fond. Megatron’s an irredeemable villain, yeah, but he’s also aggressively protective of those he views as friends and family and has strict limits as to what he’ll tolerate before someone goes from friend to enemy (although he tends to make that a very hard distinction and it can cause trouble).
whurrrgarble idk. Like, this is a ridiculous thing to be concerned about, and I’m usually not worried about it? But I do kinda feel strange writing this dynamic when it’s one I don’t see in any version of canon, but happily and hungrily consume in fan content.

So I was thinking about how I like this one trope of a former antagonist joining the good guy team, only to find the team is honestly kind of a bunch of idiots and somehow becomes the responsible member of the group. I’m not sure where I’ve seen it, but I feel like I have and I like it
And then I decided “okay but what if I made this Megatron” and so now I’m telling you about this
I’m gonna say the setup is similar to Animated, where the original Autobot-Decepticon War ended a long time ago, and our protagonists, including Optimus, were born after the war, but not Megatron, who led the Decepticons. The Autobots and Megatron meet in some way, they crash land on Earth, same deal. And Megatron fights them initially, but eventually he decides to stop and even join up with this group of Autobots
I haven’t figured out the exact reason why, but it probably has to do with the war and the Decepticons being in exile for so long. Like at this point he’s lost the fire and hatred he had during the war and he just can’t find it in himself to continue, even if he feels the need to. That and possibly, he can’t really bring himself to hate these particular Autobots, who unlike the old Autobots he fought, haven’t really done anything to wrong him other than defend themselves and wear the Autobot symbol, which at this point any bot from Cybertron would
But yeah, he has a redemption of sorts and joins the group. I want to say this happens relatively early on in the story? Like he’s definitely part of the group by the end of this hypothetical Season 1. The villains for the rest of the story would be either other Decepticons who don’t share Megatron’s desire to simply stop the fighting, and/or a new group of Decepticons that have risen up from the ashes of the original to cause trouble for Cybertron once again
I’m thinking that maybe while Megatron doesn’t have much beef with the Autobot team he’s currently with, he might have more ire for the older ones he did fight during the war, particularly including whoever’s running the Autobots at this point. He probably also isn’t the nicest guy, considering he’s the former Decepticon warlord, but he’s working on it, or at least isn’t terrible
I also think it’d be juicy if in this scenario, we did still have a thing like in TFA Season 2 where the Autobot higher ups do come in and context the Earth Autobots, only for Lord Megatron himself to also be here, and seemingly part of their team. Especially if this is at a point in the story when Megatron’s proven himself to the team and saved their lives, and he’s a valuable member, but it’s kind of hard to explain to someone who wasn’t there. Also he’s being aggressive with the higher ups, which is not helping
And I’m coming back to this now after work, since I was writing this during break, and I don’t quite remember what else I was going to say, so I’ll just leave it here
Admittedly it probably isn’t that much different from other canon Megatron redemption stories, apart from the fact that nobody here really has history with him (though I think that could partially apply to Lost Light as well? Like I know he knew some of them, but I think most of the crew he’s not met or fought personally). But you know, it was a thought and I thought it sounded neat
