honestly i need to get into buffy`s head, cause i know it`s so locked up and guarded by seven walls, and she never relaxes to just be. but i just need to know if she even remembers that the first familiar face she saw after she had been resurrected was her own face in the image of buffybot. and that she saw "herself" getting ripped apart and dying again. she was so scared, confused, disoriented, her vision was fucked, everything was so loud, and she was grabbed straight from heaven and spat back into the chaoitic burning hellmouth, and then she sees herself being killed as if she is just a mere observer from the sidelines, as if it`s not happening to her. this scene is a torture in intself, of course she thinks she is in hell. does she even remember that?

could never truly hate willow for bringing buffy back, bc what does it mean to love someone if not to drag them kicking and screaming back to life bc you are not done being loved by them?

who else has ever been personally victimized by season five episode sixteen of buffy the vampire slayer The Body. you know the one. the episode with no non-diegetic music. the episode with the major character death. the episode with the incredibly poorly timed title sequence. the episode that perfectly showcases how different people process grief and develops all its characters to the next level simply by showing us the both the big and little ways they react to this kind of pain. (yknow. buffy with the staying strong for everyone else and blaming herself. xander with the wall punching and quietness but still trying to make jokes. willow with the changing outfits and searching so hard for something she CAN control. anya with the trying so hard to comprehend something she went so long without having to understand. giles with the taking care of everything.) the episode thats one of only two buffy the vampire slayer episodes to be a featured article on wikipedia. the episode that might be the best done piece of television i’ve ever seen. the episode that had me nauseous cause i was crying that hard. you know the one.

ok so we all know The Pack is a very inaccurate potrayal of hyena dynamics, but what gets me is that using the correct behaviors would have actually worked in the episode. just with a few changes.

the girl who was possessed (i don’t remember her name) would have been the alpha of the pack instead of Xander.

instead of Xander bullying Willow, he would’ve just dropped her for hyena girl, which Buffy would find just as strange. this gives us Willow’s insecurity and Giles’ iconic “he's turned into a sixteen-year-old boy. of course, you'll have to kill him” because he just thinks that Xander has a crush on a popular girl.

when Buffy shows him attention (because she’s concerned about him), he tries to court her and makes his feelings about her very obvious, as opposed to the whole attempted assault thing that actually happened in the episode. that way he still has motive to pretend he doesn’t remember anything and, bonus, he seems way less hypocritical in the events following Seeing Red

and they can still eat Herbert because hyenas do actually hunt sometimes (but also more of them stealing people’s food or going through the trash would be a better indication of hyena-possession). oh and Flutie can get eaten too (rip dude i love you)

If I had a nickel for every time I was obsessed with a show that featured a groundbreaking queer ship, and also featured, as part of the main trio of friends, a witch named Willow, who begins as a horrifically bullied, shy, nerdy wallflower, and ends as one of the most insanely powerful spellcasters in the show, who is canonically queer, and who has at some point been shipped with a scrappy blond boy that has an affiliation with Wolves… I’d have two nickels.

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice, you know?

will y’all jump me if I say while I’m not necessarily glad cordy bullied xander and willow all those years bc school and being a kid is hard enough….. but also like ya know how sometimes you learn that the people who were shunned/bullied by the group or had no friends turns out were actually for a completely valid reasons?

It’s like that because Cordy warning Buffy to stay away from Willow and Xander given the absolute gutter garbage selfish ass “friends” they turned out to be to Buffy…. SHE WAS NOT WRONG

Buffy would have absolutely been better off befriending (and in my ideal world also dating Cordy instead of creepy patronizing abusive manipulative angel) Cordelia and Harmony

And no I do not in anyway believe Cordy’s bullying is to blame for Willow and Xander’s behavior as friends if anything their responses to the hardship created by her show just how unfit they are to be Buffy’s friends

Harmony would just think Buffy was really cool and be the damsel Buffy was always needing to save because duh and Cordy would have kept Buffy from being taken advantage of by the watcher’s council much sooner and potentially could have stopped her from being killed by the master in season 1 bc she sees things so clearly and is so blunt about everything she’d be like “why don’t you just wait and see what happens with this master guy if you don’t go with the annoying one first he hasn’t been able to get out all this time so why the hell would you go to him now???” (this is all based on who all these characters grew into which gives us insights into the potential they had within them that would have been brought out in the face of hardships not saying this is the dynamic that would have started right away but what it would have developed into as the three of them slowly became friends over time in season 1 and obviously would have required NOT joss whedon and david greenwalt as writers who very intentionally gave buffy shitty friends)
