Latest Update on Infinity Nikki CN Stylists protest
It has been more than 12 hours since Papergames put out an statement on the protest and the many issues in 1.5. On Infinity Nikki's official Chinese social media channels; Weibo, and Xiaohongshu, comments have reached more than 78,000 as of this afternoon, 12PM UTC+8 Beijing time.
General consensus among CN stylists is that Papergames statement was a word-play aimed at normalising 220 pull max pity and that they have brazenly ignore many issues raised by stylists.
While some may argue that Papergames have been generous and all with the free gifts. CN Stylists real fight is for a fair and reasonable max pity and to protect consumer's right of fellow stylists. Since the launch of Infinity Nikki in December last year, what started out as a 180 pull max pity 5-star outfit have grown to what is now 220 pull max pity for a complete 5-star outfit. Many CN stylists that are loyal fan of the Nikki series knows all too well that Papergames are trying to push the line to make higher max pity a norm, as most of them have already seen it happened in the past Nikki games.
CN stylists have come out with a boycott plead for stylists to unite together and protect consumer's right, and fight against Papergames corporate greed.
Translated from a Xiaohongshu post : (note: I aim to do my best to provide the most accurate translation, but there may be some error here and there. For some parts, I have translated in a more appropriate wording to provide better context instead of literal translation. If you have any question, feel free to ask in reply or reblog and I will answer to my best ability)
Dear whales, dolphins, spenders, stylists, please once again hold your ground! Since the launch of 1.5 we have fought against the bad practices by not spending, writing negative reviews on steam, send our feedback to customer service, and reported them to the relevant government authority department. Yet, we received a perfunctory statement from Papergames. They are not acknowledging the issues, they are admitting that they are in a bad situation. Our protest has yet to success, we need to unite together and boycott by not spending any more. This version is still have long way to go, we have to force them to make changes, you will still be able to pull your outfit banners & buy store items closer to the end of the season. If we accept and let Papergames to keep releasing such perfunctory statement, giving perfunctory compensation; just 20 pulls, just only enough to pull for the new socks they added. If we don't fight back now, this will become a norm and in the future they won't even compensate the cost of the socks. If we, the stylists, forgives Papergames so easily then there will still be a next time and it will only get worst. Papergames apology statement translation into simpler terms: 1. We know the game have a lot of bugs, apologies, fixing, don't rush us, be understanding for the sake of Nikki. 2. Both 5-stars banners are pretty, it is so pretty we decide to add a 11-piece, not informing stylists is our fault, we won't make more than 11-piece for 5-star. (CN stylists take: you know they can add 6-stars or more with more than 11-pieces in the future) 3. Mira Crown, revert back to 14-days with a +1 to 2 extra days on top. Basically, two Mira Crown per month. 4. Workshop: future plan promises, we heard your feedback etc etc... (CN stylists take: they don't even address the colour palette unlocking issues) 5. Enough already, we are gonna take money from you and return it to you as compensation, now go play the game, and we have apologised, for the sake of Nikki let's not talk about it any more.
Other issues:
6. Don't forget they can even misspell Nikki's name! In the apology letter they say they love Nikki, it is just an excuse to say they love money. 7. They made changes to the Terms & Policies in-game with bolded red text without pre-informing us. 8. Cold-shoulder treatment to issues raised: Spending event issue, 68RMB bath tub, not splitting up the mermaid's tail, colour palette is still not universal unlock, no fixed max pity system, changing UI at will.
Clearly there should be a fixed max pity, more reasonable pieces (my understanding: they probably meant things like the mermaid tail), extra pieces can be given out for free when reached max pity pulls, opening gift boxes should reward everything (my understanding: they probably refer to the spending event issues), playing dead (not listening to stylists), do they not understand at all?
They know, they are just doing it on purpose so that they can create a new baseline. In the future when stylists complain about why there is only 11-pieces, they will use the argument that we complained about 11-pieces back then so they won't split any more pieces and continue to disgust stylists. (my note: CN stylists are not fighting against more pieces, they are fighting for a fair and reasonable max pity ceiling as part of consumer's rights)
For those that love Nikki, and those who hope that Infinity Nikki continue to thrives for a long time to come, no one is satisfied by the apology statement from Papergames.
Our Nikki is such a nice person, why should we take a step back and let such disgusting plan and marketing continue.

Short story workshop! ✍️✍️✍️ August 2024
Y'all, I am interested in hosting a short story workshop to share my knowledge and my passion for writing and to help other writers who are seeking a place to connect with fellow writers.
However, I am so tired of seeing workshops that cost $200+ for just a few hours! If you're interested in attending a low-cost writing workshop, please read more below the cut...
I'm going to host video-call short story workshops at the very low cost of pay what you can! My suggested donation is around $30.00, but if cost is any kind of an issue, please put a note in the Google form and we can work something out!
8/9/24 Update: Our first workshop will be Sunday, August 11 at 3 p.m. Central US/4 p.m. Eastern US
There are additional times and dates on the Google signup form. Please let me know if you don't see something that works for you. (And rest assured, I'll be adding some European/non-US times soon! Please message me if you're outside of North America and we'll get something set up!) Sign up here at the Google form
FAQs... Who the hell are you? Hi! I'm Claire, I'm very friendly and have been here on Tumblr writing adult fanfiction since 2021. In my first year on Tumblr, I wrote 216,860 words of short story fanfiction. That's a LOT! Fanfic led me to getting back into creative writing, which was a lifelong passion but had been dormant for almost twenty years. Rediscovering writing saved me from one of the deepest depressions I had ever experienced, and I'm so grateful to it and to the other writers I've met over the years for saving my sanity.
What do you know about writing, anyway? A ton! I'm a huge nerd, and when I have a passion for something, I research endlessly and deeply and am always learning something new. Since I started writing fanfic in 2021, I have taken 3 college courses in creative writing, self-published my first book, and I read non-fiction "books about writing" more than I read all other genres combined. (I really love writing!) I'm also "that friend" who knows the difference between affect/effect, vice/vise, they're/there/their, and other really nerdy grammar and spelling and punctuation rules, and I've beta-read for over a dozen other Tumblr authors over the years. After self-publishing in September of 2023, I found that I enjoyed the process so much that I decided to make it my vocation. In March of 2024 I opened a small business to provide self-publishing guidance and author services to other independent authors. I am currently working with my first client to edit and hone a manuscript and query letters for pitching to agents, and I'm also co-editing an anthology of original short stories from some of my favorite Tumblr writers that will debut in January 2025, published through my company.
Why so cheap? I don't have $250 lying around for a one-day writing workshop, and I'm guessing you don't, either.
You write a LOT of smut; do we also have to write "spicy" stories? Nope! Smut is not required - this is a general short story workshop to help you craft any kind of story your heart desires! I love writers and writing, and I'll be your cheerleader no matter what genre of short fiction calls to you and makes your fingers fly!
What do we get out of this? The workshop will consist of two parts. The first will be a 60-minute group video call (time/date TBD), where I will present the basics of short story form, function, and several prompts. Each participant can use one of the prompts, or bring a short story that you've already started. If you would like to get some feedback, I'll ask you to send me your short story draft within 10 days. Two weeks after the first call, I'll host another 60-minute group call, share some of the stories from the group, and provide workshop feedback and guidance to continue your writing! It is totally optional if you want to share your story with the group, but at the very least I hope to provide a welcoming space to talk about writing and to expand your knowledge - you might even make a new writer friend or two!
What if I'm shy/prefer to remain anonymous? I am more than happy to set up a 1:1 workshop with just me and you! Please indicate that on the signup form and we'll set up a time to chat.
Sign up here at the Google form and let's talk writing!

Applications for the Spring 2024 session are now open!
The Fanauthor Workshop is a biannual Zoom course for writers of fanfiction. My goal is to create a supportive space for fanauthors to receive constructive feedback on fanfiction, original fiction, or creative nonfiction. If desired, I also provide guidance on moving outside of fan spheres to traditional publishing or other creative writing programs such as MFAs.
Participants of the workshop receive
Attendance in an 8-week Zoom course during which you’ll provide feedback to your peers and workshop one piece of your own work, up to 6,000 words.
Access to the Fanauthor Workshop Discord server, an active community where we host weekly accountability meetings, write-ins, and other events and activities.
A one-hour consultation with me to go over your workshop feedback, come up with a plan for revision and/or publication, or anything else you’d like to discuss regarding your writing.
Open enrollment option in future workshops.
When
The workshop meets on Fridays from April 12 through May 31 via Zoom. You can apply for one of two sessions:
Group A: 12pm - 2pm EST
Group B: 6pm - 8pm EST
Cost
The cost is "pay what you think the experience is worth," with a recommended amount of $300. To be as inclusive as possible, I don't want money to be a deterrent for anyone interested in participating.
Payment can be made before, during, or after the workshop, via PayPal or Venmo.
How to apply
Eligibility
Anyone over the age of 18 who considers themselves a participant of fandom and who is familiar with fanfiction may apply. A stable internet connection is also required. Submissions must be written in English.
Application requirements
To apply, you will need:
A brief cover letter discussing your fan history and goals as a (fan)writer (more specific instructions on submittable).
Maximum 1,000 words of your writing, either original work or fanfiction. This may be previously published/posted.
You can apply via submittable. Applications close March 8. There is no fee for applying.
FAQ under the cut.
FAQ
Are there any content restrictions to what I can workshop?
The only restriction is word count (max 6k), with the following caveats:
If you workshop a piece in a form other than prose (for example, a script), your peers may not be able to offer constructive feedback on that aspect of the work. Participants are asked only to have a familiarity with prose.
Content warnings are required for each piece (if applicable), and participants who are uncomfortable reading certain subject matter may abstain from your workshop.
I want to participate in the workshop, but these times/dates don't work for me.
While the workshop is a big part of my life, I have to prioritize my own schedule, and as of right now, these are the only times/dates I can run it.
However, I'm working on developing other workshop models that may be more accessible for people who can't attend the regular spring/fall session. For example, a summer sprint workshop (meeting more often per week for fewer weeks) and/or an asynchronous workshop (written feedback only, no Zoom meeting). More on that later this year or next.
What is the time commitment of the workshop?
As a participant of the workshop, you'll be asked to:
Workshop any piece of your own prose up to 6k words, which will need to be uploaded to the group folder no later than the Sunday prior to your workshop.
Read 2 pieces per week, write a 1-page crit letter for the author, and attend the workshop itself.
What is the timeline of the workshop?
In week 1, we go over the syllabus and do a writing exercise. Weeks 2 through 8 will be a workshop, a discussion of an external reading, or a writing activity. Prior to the start of workshop, you'll be able to sign up for the week you would like to workshop your piece.
Structure of the sessions:
Question of the day
First workshop
Short break
Second workshop
We'll go over my workshop model and the syllabus in week 1.
Do I have to participate in the Zoom meetings (camera and mic on)?
Attending the workshop itself is required, and everyone is asked to offer at least one note of positive feedback on each piece, so mics are necessary. Cameras are preferred but not required.
You can't asynchronously participate, i.e. read the pieces and offer written feedback without attending the sessions.
What are the benefits of being in the Fanauthor Workshop community?
We have an active Discord server open only to those who have participated in the workshop. Once you've completed the workshop, you'll have access to attend weekly accountability meetings, write-ins, and other events we host.
You'll also have an open enrollment option in future workshops, where in lieu of applying again, you can pay a portion of what you intend to pay and secure your seat in the upcoming workshop.
I'll be working on rolling out additional events and benefits throughout the year.
Can workshop participants submit to OFIC Magazine?
Yes! Part of the reason I run the workshop is to inspire and promote the original work of fanwriters. You can follow us on tumblr @oficmag.
Who is running the workshop?
@bettsfic! In short, I lived a dreary cubicle life as a banker until I found fanfiction at 24. I loved it so much that I quit my job to get an MFA in creative writing. I loved the MFA so much that I became a writing teacher. I have some publications, awards, an agent, and 2 million words of fic on ao3. I don't have a book out yet but I'm getting there.
Currently I'm a writing coach and freelance editor. I also have a lowkey writing-related newsletter. And I've been answering writing advice asks on my blog for 10 years.
If you want an idea of the kind of writing activities I create, last summer I worked with @books on a workshop series which includes craft essays and some fun prompts.
If you're interested in my original work, my short story "Not If, When" is a good representation of my writing. For something darker, check out "Shut Up and Kill Me."
What is the workshop like?
Check out G's experience of attending the workshop. And here's some feedback from previous participants.
One final note: I'm working on updating the copy about the workshop on my website and move it over to OFIC's website. This post and Submittable has the most updated information on the workshop. If you have questions about discrepancies (or anything at all), you can shoot me an ask, DM me, or add me on Discord (I'm bettsfic there too). Or you can email me at [email protected].

Why Today’s Best Education Consultancy Makes All the Difference
When education is the key to success, the right selection of an academic program often determines a person’s further life. In comes education consultancy — people who can help students and their parents decide on the institution to attend and navigate the bewildering array of admissions procedures. So how do we get a differentiation the best education consultancy from the rest?
 1.Individual Approach
The consultant’s main advantage over other educational services is the individual approach provided. It is important for the best consultancies to embrace the fact that every student is an individual with the various attributes that define him/ her, including strengths, interests and goals. Choose the amount of time in order to know all students, having unique plans that reflect the student’s desire and educational level.
2. Specialized Human Capital
There must be a qualified and experienced human resource to work as a team or consultancy since it is expected to work on numerous projects in the sphere of education. This involves being acquainted with issues such as admission criteria, scholarships on offer and shifts in courses offered. Instructor knowledge guarantees the students are given precise knowledge and accurate information they require for decision-making.
 3. Full Range Services
The education consultancies, who work for the best outputs, are they providers of all the necessary services which include the selection of schools or universities, writing of application letters and essays, and even the interviews. They give end-to-end service in terms of tests, application, as well as consultancy after admission.
4. Track Record
It is a tradition of the most successful consultancies, which show by results – the students’ placements in the universities of their choice. This they do offering testifiers and examples of the past clients who have had their educational dreams accomplished with the help of the consultancy.
5. Ethical Practices
While conducting business especially in education consultancy, is important to do it with integrity. The best consultancies work in all conditions and are not trying to mislead the students to enroll in a certain program and assure them of some job with a high paying company. This is not like most tutoring services, who major in the number of students that they have to serve, but the kind of clients or rather the kind of students to get rid of.
 6. Good connection base
Having a good connection base with educational organizations and teachers or other experts can be an advantage. Realizing that leading consultancies usually have close links with some schools, universities, and scholarship granting authorities, the consultants can use the networks to help their clients.
 7. Maintenance of Support and Tutorship
Education is not confined at the admission process. Indeed, the best consultancies are able to provide counseling regardless of the students’ acceptance to any given institutions. This might comprise guidance on the best ways to manage their new lives in college, and guidance on their respective careers as well as other academic assistance from tutors.
8 Innovative Resources and Tools
The use of advanced technology as well as tools may improve the consultancy services. From tracking the progress of your application to counselling sessions, or even workshops, the top consultancies use technology to enhance efficiency.

12. Navigate the Publishing Process: If you secure a publishing deal, work closely with your editor and publishing team to refine your manuscript for publication. Be open to constructive criticism and editorial suggestions that aim to enhance the quality of your work. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote your book effectively and reach a broader audience.
13. Stay Updated and Adapt: Keep yourself informed about the latest trends, techniques, and developments in the publishing industry. Thinking about art.
Thinking about your first poetry class, sophomore year. The assignment was haiku. Your friend works at a laser engraving shop, you get him to laser-etch your poetry onto some autumn leaves you gathered from the sidewalk. The professor says he’s never seen something so pretentious. He asks if he can keep them.
Thinking about when the machine vision system you spent 8 hours hacking together out of an old Kinect and four of the cheapest ultrasonic rangefinders money can buy actually WORKS and your autonomous robot navigates the obstacle course and your group gets an A.
Thinking about finishing your final thesis, a science fantasy novella, writing and re-writing the same paragraph over and over until suddenly the third act clicks and you put down 8K words in one sitting. You get a little teary when you finish. Your advisor has all her advisees over for dinner, and all you talk about is fantasy.
Thinking about soldering the heaviest gauge wire you could find to the biggest power transistor you could get for less than thirty bucks, praying that the high-power battery you scavenged from a vape won’t blow it up at 25 amps. The whole contraption is held together with cardboard and electrical tape, and your test subject says it gets warm when you strap it to her arm under the robes, but you’ve made the world’s jankiest portable light-up smoke machine and she has the best wizard costume at the Halloween party.
Thinking about sending your first real short story to a sci-fi magazine. It’s cold and beautiful and razor-sharp and you’re so proud. It gets shortlisted for publication. Three months later they tell you they won’t be buying it, but they don’t send a form letter — the editor wrote you personally, gave you real feedback and wants to read more. You never show that story to anybody again. You’re still proud of it. You keep writing.
Thinking about your first job after college. It’s a tiny startup and the laboratory is an old dance studio with the floor torn down to bare concrete, but you have three million dollars of government money and the CEO knows what he’s doing. Your team spends a year hacking together a carbon nanotube synthesis machine — literally hacking, you carved out more than one piece of aluminum with a hacksaw. You power it up for the first time. The chemist plugs her bottle of carcinogens in one end, and gauzy nanotube aerogel pours out the other. You all cheer. The ammonia in the air gives you migraines. Worth it.
Thinking about taking a plumbing torch, a broken chunk of firebrick you scavenged from lab, a few bits of metal, some solder from the hardware store, and making little steel sculptures. You give some to friends, you keep some for yourself. You can only make them in the summer, because your workshop is your little scrap of back lawn and it gets too cold in winter.
Thinking about being tired all the time. You can’t think straight. The words stop, the nanotubes stop, the soldering stops, the art stops. Your stomach hurts. Maybe it’s the flu? One day you fall asleep and she can’t can’t wake you up. You don’t remember how you get to the hospital. You’re there for a month.
Thinking about being sick. Real sick, the kind of sick where your lifespan is measured in months, then weeks, then days. They give you three options — surgery, the medicinal equivalent of a neutron bomb for your immune system, or go home and pray. You take the surgery. You get tattoos over the scars.
Thinking about the slog to recovery. Three surgeries. A new job — you’re building fusion reactors. You get to crawl inside one, touch the graphite and molybdenum shielding tiles with gloved fingertips. Years of blazing heat and radiation give them a glossy, iridescent sheen. Nuclear plasma paints the walls with silver rainbows.
Thinking about bleeding again. Your stomach hurts. You stumble into a bathroom stall so you don’t faint in front of your coworkers. You’re dying again. More surgery. You think about what to ink over the newest scar. You want something a bit different. Something classy, or bold? A splash of color? You should commission a design from someone who knows what they’re doing. You’re an artist, but not that kind of artist.
Thinking about art.

WIP Folders Tag
thanks for the tag, @magic-is-something-we-create !
Rules:
Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous.
Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, & then post a little snippet or tell them something about it!
Tag as many people as you have wips
So, I know that having file names like “lsdfllkjhshkj” or “unnamed 3” or “document5” is a trope among writers, but I’ve always had somewhat coherent names for my files. One fallacy that comes up is I have multiple copies of most things, so a lot of files end up with "copy 2, copy copy 3, copy 2 copy" tacked onto them. I also JUST went through most my files to organize.
This is also just what’s on my laptop, and also just my prose stories. I’m not going to subject y’all (or myself) to my entire library. Maybe someday. Maybe I’ll do another one of these for my comics.
It looks like there are… 8ish WIP folders here, so that’s 8 people 😬 @writewithfire, @faelanvance, @kiraofthewind @mjjune @gailynovelry @author-audrey-simmons @arijensineink @elizaellwrites

Heartbeat, Heartbreak - B.B (4/8)
Tumblr media
Summary: Three musketeers until you started to fall in love. But, have you been living since then? (Modern!Reader/Bucky Barnes).
Prompt: “That’s disgusting. You’re lucky you’re cute.”
A/N: This for @notimetoblog‘s writing challenge. this is getting so dramatic but please enjoy. no bucky in this one, but finally some nat.
Feedback is always welcomed.
“All spare you the mundane details of that time, but, it all came full head after the 10th grade summer break.  Bucky went to some space camp, Nat went to a ballet workshop -- her dad made her. And I volunteered around until my family went on our summer annual trip. When school started...something was different, they left making googly eyes at each other, spending time together without me -- they had been trading letters all summer, something I didn’t think until much later. I started feeling left behind, than that happened---”
Thor gives the two of you a skeptical eye. You were sitting in a wet dress with a bandage around your hand, the red head -also wet- sitting to his right had a bruise swelling on her right cheek. You were look at the table and she was looking at you, but what grabs your attention is the blond man looking at his phone with a smile before turning to look at the mess that you are right now.
“I’ve already called Jane,” he explains, as you give him a weary smile, “Will you be alright if I leave for my meeting and when she comes?”
“I can manage,” you say with a dry laugh as the tree of a man pats your hand gently before getting up. Dual colored eyes move from looking at you to the Natasha, as he give you that look of call me and i’ll come rushing over. You nod and with a wave he is out of the mini medical ward housed in Stark Industries.
It’s when he’s finally out of earshot that Nat speaks: “He really cares about you.”
You bite your tongue in bitterness, semi-sure of what brought her here and completely unsure about the other half. You were sure she just could have talked to James to stop what he had been doing, if she really wanted to, unless they swung that way as a married couple. You frown at what the years could have done to these two, but maybe they have always been rotted to the core?
They certainly treated you that way when they saw no more use for you.
“Are you just going to pretend I’m not here?” Nat ask, as you move just a smidgen so that you are staring at her black boots. An annoyed sigh leaves her, as you lean onto the armrest a bit more, to alleviate the pain from the hit you took rushing through the side of your body.
“Can you wait for Jane to get here?” you groan out, as you bite back -- much to her pleasure since she hadn’t heard that voice in years, “When she gets here, then you can dish whatever it is you want to -- about you, about James, whatever. Just shut up for now, please.”
You don’t see Nat’s eyes widen at the sound of your voice crack and how it gets a bit more harder to talk for you, as you mention her name and Bucky’s. Her heart drops as she watches you slide further into the chair, as if you’re trying to protect yourself from whatever may come next. She had seen it once or twice before when you were younger, a defense mechanism for when you got scared and Bucky started to tease you, though Nat never thought it would directed towards her.
Nat straightens up a bit more, as she decides to ask: “Who’s Jane exactly?”
You let out a shuddering sigh thinking of the shorter woman for a moment --the one who worried too much and had even tried to set you up with her eccentric brother-in-law once-- as you finally look at Nat. She probably knows who Jane might be, but you strike the killing blow either way.
“She’s my best friend.”
Green eyes look away, as you place your head in the plush headrest, closing your eyes and wondering how exactly you got to this point.
You’re sure its a couple of days after that lunch meeting that you ran out of and had promptly excused yourself in front of Pepper and Tony for later on. They are the first thing that you see in the morning three days after you last seen James and there were really two people in the world that knew which flowers you liked and the meaning behind them, and you were sure that Loki wouldn’t seek you out from all the way in England -- hell, you hadn’t even made it past the first date.
No, there is only one person --from that summer when you were just too into the new flower shop up the block and reading too much into Alice in Wonderland-- who knew that the bouquet of flowers meant to you. You let out a shuddering sigh, trying to stay calm and level headed --though that was becoming more difficult the more you dealt with James Barnes.
You weren’t going to deny it was nice gesture, but deep down the image of him, Natasha, and the baby she had with her that day lingered and festered in your heart like an open wound. You move a bit closer, chest feeling as heavy as cement, as you see a small note between the lilies and gardenias
Please...I just want to talk.
It’s all the note says and with that you grab the vase and throw it into the closest trash bin. You walk back out and ask the floor’s receptionist to not accept any flowers on your behalf.
The flowers keep coming everyday until the front desk seems like a well-tended garden. However, you keep moving forward without a glance towards them.
Sam keeps telling you that James won’t close the deal without talking over the final details with you. However, you keep saying no, that he can close it without you like he had done a handful of times before.
Chester Phillips eventually enters the picture and though he gives you some sterns words, he knows by now that your silence isn’t something that is so easily gained. And for a moment, it even worries the older man.
“You know, this isn’t just about the deal,” Sam tells you one day when he decides to buy you lunch in a cafe not that far from the Tower,”All that anger and sentiment that you feel towards James and this Natasha, it might just wash away when you get closure.”
You eyes turn to him, as he gives you, before taking a bite out of his burger,  a smile that sinks your heart at the sight that someone --and in extension so many people-- care about you and your well-being. You shake your head.
“I wish that things like this were easier to let go of though,” you murmur before going back to eating your meal.
You think it’s only a matter of time before Natasha finds out what James has been doing and towards who it had been directed towards and while you think you are prepared to see the redhead face-to-face. It is a completely different thing when you see her waiting by the fountain area of Stark Tower, as you walk briskly and hoping that she didn’t see you or even didn’t recognize you.
“Hey!” the call of your name echoes in your ears for a moment, as you walk a bit faster than before. All the anger you might have felt decides to leave you at that moment as a cold stone causes you to run in to the building and that’s where security stops her, as you only glance for a quick second before you head to the safety of your floor.
You obviously don’t remember that Natasha was as stubborn, even more so, than you as you head outside for lunch only to see that she is still waiting near the fountain area while playing on her phone and for  brief moment, you wonder where her baby could be. Though, you are sure that James made enough money to hire a good, if not permanent babysitter.
You remember what Sam told you a while back and while you couldn't stand looking at James for all he had done, Natasha --the silent variable in your dilemma-- is a completely different story, a different sort of pain that came with being a friend betrayed and thrown aside.
She probably knows that you are heading in her direction before anything else, but chooses until you are standing in front of her to look up.
“What do you want?” you asks, as green as take in your form for a moment. The changes in both of you were obvious, but it had been that red hair and green eyes that caught your attention -- Natasha had always demanded your attention in some way.
“To talk, catch up,” she states, making light of the situation in her own way like she used to. And while years ago a younger you might have laughed at that, this time --the last thing you remember before Thor pulled you out of the fountain area-- you end up pushing her straight in the freezing water behind her.
Jane come in after twenty minutes of silence between the two of you, as she glances at Natasha before huddling over on you and asking everything that had happened and if you were all right. You just nod numbly, already placing that layer of numbness over your emotions that Jane had gotten used to seeing over the years, as you give her a shaky smile.
“Are you alright —“ Jane pauses, waiting for her name even though she already knows it.
“Natasha Romanoff,” she states and while you are mildly surprised that there is no Barnes at the end of it, you wouldn’t be too surprised if she had decides to keep her maiden name. Life was so much more easier that way.
“And you are?” Nat asks back, as Jane smiles completely unaware of how the poised smile might be hiding something underneath.
“Dr. Jane Odison,” she states just as proudly as you briefly remember how pretty Jane looked the day of her wedding.
After pleasantries are exchanged a thick silence hangs between the three of you because you aren’t willing to ask what Nat wants and she seems to be assessing the situation, as Jane looks between the both of you for more than a moment.
“I didn’t know that Bucky had asked you out that night,” she admits and you scoff, making sure to show that you don’t believe her in any sense of the world. She grips her hands to her jeans.
“That certainly didn’t stop you once you found out,” you bite back, as she is thrown into silence because it’s true -- in the long run, Nat choose James in the end and without an explanation stopped talking to you all together.
“There’s more to it than that,” Nat tries her best to explain as Jane keeps a hold on your hand, “I know I never got to explain it, but I want to do so now.”
“Why so you could—“
You start off with all the bitterness and anger spilling forth ok the tip of your tongue, as Natasha slams her hand on the table in front of her causing both you and Jane to jump.
“Whatever illusion you have stuck in your head from seeing James and I that day isn’t true,” Nat says in a sort of desperation, years in the making, that you have never heard from her before, “I’m not married to James and he isn’t Rosie’s father.”
You bite your bottom lip and hold onto to Jane’s hand just a little bit tighter than before. However, the words seem to be stuck in your throat, but Jane has known you long enough to know what you might be thinking.
“If we could find somewhere calmer to speak about all this,” Jane’s blue eyes find green ones as you lay your head on her shoulder, “Then I’m sure she would be willing to listen. I’m can safely say it would be best for all three of you to get closure on this.”
Natasha sighs and agrees, as you simple nod. The two of them eventually pick a place and time that is between the Stark Tower and where you could only guess she can live now, but with so many questions and emotions running through your head, you don’t say anything as Natasha gets up after calling on a carshare, or whatever she was doing on her phone --that miraculously didn’t get destroyed-- as Jane bid her farewell a bit tersely.
“Let’s get you home,” Jane pushes you gently, as you simply nod, “Don’t worry, we can forget all about today, maybe get some movies and ice cream.”
“Sure,” you say letting out a dry laugh, as she helps you get up and you make it through one of the many hallways and into the underground parking that leads to her car.
However, it wasn’t an easy thing forget, but whether you liked it or not -- it was time to move on.

How to Build a Strong Student Profile for College Admissions
Building a strong profile for college admissions is essential for students aiming to stand out in a competitive landscape. Arya College of Engineering & I.T. has admissions committees looking for well-rounded candidates who not only excel academically but also demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a commitment to their communities. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to create a compelling student profile that enhances your chances of gaining admission to your desired college or university.
1. Academic Excellence
Maintain Strong Grades
Academic performance remains the cornerstone of any college application. Aim for a high GPA by taking challenging courses, such as Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) classes, if available. Colleges often look for students who have demonstrated the ability to handle rigorous coursework.
Standardized Test Scores
Prepare thoroughly for standardized tests like the SAT or ACT. A strong score can significantly bolster your application. Start preparing early, take practice tests, and consider enrolling in preparatory courses if needed. Remember, these scores should complement your academic achievements rather than define them.
2. Extracurricular Activities
Engagement in Meaningful Activities
Participate in extracurricular activities that genuinely interest you. This could include sports, music, art, debate clubs, or science fairs. Depth of involvement is more important than breadth; focus on a few activities where you can make a significant impact rather than spreading yourself too thin across many.
Leadership Roles
Seek leadership positions within your extracurricular activities. Whether it’s being the captain of a sports team or the president of a club, leadership roles showcase your ability to lead and collaborate with others, which is highly valued by admissions committees.
3. Community Service and Volunteering
Commitment to Service
Engaging in community service demonstrates your commitment to making a positive impact on society. Volunteer at local organizations, participate in community clean-ups or start your own initiative to address local issues. Consistent involvement in service activities reflects your character and dedication to helping others.
4. Personal Projects and Research
Independent Projects
Pursuing independent projects or research in an area of interest can set you apart from other applicants. This might involve conducting experiments, writing articles, or starting a blog related to your field of interest. Such initiatives not only show your passion but also highlight your ability to work independently.
5. Strong Personal Statements and Essays
Authentic Storytelling
