I watched Charles and Diana wedding. I loved her…..it’s that simple. Over time we all could see there was unhappiness between them. Wonderful they had the two boys….William as an heir and Harry a beloved brother.

Then Diana was killed in the automobile accident. Life changed for all.

My question is about Camilla’s first marriage. Was there unhappiness similar to how Diana felt? Why did their marriage fail? Had Charles and Camilla always loved one another? How did they meet…..same group of friends?

I will try to go through them one by one.

Camilla and Charles were in the same circle so had always kind of knew one another. Charles was besotted and Camilla did like Charles too.

Camilla never wanted to be a royal, it was not something she sought at all. It is why she turned Charles down over and over. HM and Philip sent Charles away with the Navy in the hopes he would 'forget her'. He didn't and was devastated to hear she had married Andrew Parker Bowles while was away.

Andrew was THE catch of that circle, all the girls wanted him so Camilla was a little envied that she won the prize. But then again, Camilla was the considered THE catch as well. There was love there in the marriage just like there was between Charles and Diana. Both matches were love matches, I cannot stress that enough.

But just like love faded in the Charles and Diana married the same happened with Andrew and Camilla. Diana began to stray away, Andrew strayed a lot too. So Charles and Camilla found their way back to one another. As remember Diana strayed long before Charles did.

But Camilla was happy enough to be the mistress, she got to be with Charles with non of the royal life and pressures. It was HM that eventually said, you two have to marry as I cannot die with this mess of a situation on my hands.

But Camilla may not have wanted a royal life but she is amazing and adapt at it. She is warm, charming, thoughtful and a hard worker. She even has gotten over her travel sickness!

What are your thoughts on Neil and Katelyn being friends? Either in your au or just in general. Personally I’m insane about it

SAME

Like if you’re asking realistically, if I was to write a post canon Neil and Katelyn friendship it would be that they don’t actually seek out each others company, but when they DO get together it is chaos for the twins. Like no one expected them to have that much or that kind of energy around each other. I don’t even know if I can describe it, it’s something adjacent to a sibling relationship with a wordless agreement to mess with Andrew and Aaron as much as possible and also having that step-sibling vibe that is both ironic hate and a little bit of real “still not a huge fan of u”. I do like Andrew being better with kids so Neil doesn’t necessarily have a special in with kateaaron’s girls.

But they get along completely well enough and are comfy around each other. My weakness for better post canon relationships for everyone strikes again

In the royal au it’s similar, obviously it takes even longer for Abram to be comfy/casual around the queen but once he is they have a fine time when they happen to around each other. As stated previously, he sometimes ends up watching out for her at parties and stuff bc Katelyn has always been incredible at sneaking away from her people - if she isn’t on Aaron’s arm she’s gonna be on Abram’s and like at least halfway drunk, if she’s not somewhere on the floor dancing. Since this universe (or at least Palmetto idk) doesn’t have super strict policy on dances and stuff, sometimes she convinces Abram to dance with her as long as there’s someone else near enough to keep an eye on the room around the prince. Andrew always rolls his eyes at their friendly/sibling-like affection but he’s also relieved Abram’s relaxing enough to allow it. He always lets Abram go dance (Andrew himself keeps the same arm-length distance from Katelyn that he does from everyone else). Aaron doesn’t mind either, HE’S just relieved she picked someone capable of protecting her to go drunkenly talk to when she disappears (he also likes the way she lights up when Aaron eventually comes to collect her. She’s very happy to see her beloved husband and I love that for them).

Anyway Queen Katelyn is very sweet to Abram (bc she’s a sweet person) and eventually yes they ABSOLUTELY cause chaos for the twins hehe

Andrew ignores his twin, focusing on Kevin. “Did he work for the Moriyamas, Kevin?”

Green eyes go wide, “Wha-?”

“I just said he was a gangster who killed people because it was business. You just said you met him once when you were a kid. When you were a kid, you were under the care of Tetsuji who is Kengo’s brother. Did he work for Kengo?”

“I… Yes. He showed up at the Castle once and we. um… We had to…” Kevin says, suddenly far away. 

“Had to what?” Nicky asks, hanging on the edge of his seat.

After a barely concealed shudder, Kevin shakes his head. His voice is raspy when he says, “I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Oh come on! This is the first interesting thing you’ve ever said—”

“Nicky.” Andrew warns, when Kevin’s brow furrows. 

“What? It’s true! It’s always exy with this one.”

“We’re done talking about Nathan,” Andrew insists. Then he thinks of a critical question. “Almost. Kevin, I heard he had a son who went missing. Did you meet him too?”

“Yes. He was a pretty decent backliner and— Wait a second,” Kevin cuts off to think for a moment. “Na— Nathan’s son isn’t public knowledge, Andrew. How did you—”

“Dunno,” Andrew lies. “Interesting though, isn’t it?”

“Wonder what happened to him,” Nicky says, still invested.

“Nothing good, I’m sure,” Kevin says softly, looking down at his feet. Andrew knows he’s right, but he can’t say. So he merely sighs before twisting back towards his desk. After a moment of silence, the TV comes back to life and everyone resumes their own activities.

Andrew circles the Butcher’s name and shuts his notebook.

August September LGBTQIA book list.

Now quick disclaimer: I moved during this time. Very stressful. So maybe that’s why I have so many dropped and disliked books. I’m going to give these quick reviews in a specific order of would recommend to mehhh only if you are that type of person. I don’t give spoilers this is just a taste. I am lesbian who is 30 so that also colors my perception of these stories. Only going to include pics of the top 5 to drag you in for easy screenshotting.

Okay Let’s go.

1. Somewhere Beyond the Sea by Tj Klune 🏳️‍🌈👨🏼‍🍼👬🔥🏡⛓️‍💥 okay once again when I take over the world House in the Cerulean Sea and Somewhere Beyond the Sea will be required reading I didn’t think the follow up book to one of the best books in the modern age about feel good found family foster family could get any better. But I was proven wrong. The sequel gives you all you need. You can tell the author felt the pain of our world as he wrote this but the children and characters give those stories life. I cried I laughed. There is nothing quite like it.

2. The Spirit Bares It’s Teeth by Andrew Joseph White 🏳️‍⚧️💕😱🩸👁️🐰 You know what I am putting this one as 2 because despite it making me have countless panic attacks because I’m not fond of… gore? Horror? I adored this book still thinking about it. The romance is 10/10 T4T. I adored the mystery and intrigue. The main character is autistic and very anxiety ridden I can’t describe to you how this book will change you. Although approach with caution.

3. The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish Vol2. 🏳️‍🌈🐟🤴🏻🤣 mild 🌶️ on a completely different note the “IS THAT MAN IN LOVE WITH A FISH” is a treat that always surprises me with the amount I love it. Maybe I am trash crazy but I find this funny easy to read and in this second book we got even more time with the fish and his prince actually in human shape. The miscommunication trope is strong with this one but so is consent and romance. Idk I just fucking love it. I want the prince to become emperor with his fishy lover haha.

4. The Name Bearer by Natalia Hernandez 💃💐🏳️‍🌈👩‍❤️‍👩💜💜 Okay quick disclaimer here the book is an classic style fantasy journey it is slow. However I really loved how beautifully thought out the universe was it’s a latinx woman forward book. The romance is not the point but it feels very natural which I appreciate. Main character might even be ace spec. There are great side characters. I really love the apprentice wizard but WARRIOR NUNS!!! Hehehe also things seem to be not what they seem which is always cool. I’d definitely suggest this to any fantasy lover.

5. Grandmaster of Demon Cultivation the comic vol 1-3 🏳️‍🌈👬🪄🪦💀🫏necromancer evil wizard is reincarnated into his nephew’s body years after his death. Or is he evil? Or is he 🏳️‍🌈? Hahah yes he is. Anyways in the present he’s finding the consequences of his actions while his…. Love interest is going to make sure nothing happens to this version of him. You slowly get the past. I find the comic is the easiest way to consume this fantasy story. Yes there is anime, book, and a Netflix series and a new Japanese manga is being released but I like this one. 🤷🏻‍♀️

6. Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire 💜🪦🚪 about a school for those who come back from other universes and long to go back. Main Character is probably ace spec. Very interesting fantasy book for someone who consumed a lot of fantasy as a child. Thought it was also very thoughtful book. I had fun it’s not super surprising or new ground but I enjoyed it for a quick read.

7. Spell Bound by FT Lukens 🏳️‍🌈🐈‍⬛🧙‍♀️🧑‍💻 well it’s YA. Out of the other FT Lukens books I semi enjoyed this one. The characters are still dumb as rocks and the setting could use some more fleshing. But it’s okay. For a fun quick read that semi reminds you of urban fantasy? It’s good. The side ship found family was a little forced but I enjoyed the side characters.

8. Psalm for the wild built 💜🍵🤖🏕️ it’s a chill cozy book for people who are over worked. I’d say if you want scifi it’s not. It’s closer to fantasy. Very short and preachy.

9. Casefile Compendium vol2 by Meatbun 🏳️‍🌈🩸🌶️🚩🔍🐉🥼 Danmei Murder mystery modern times age gap. Does have 2 chapters of non consent and absolutely off the wall opinions about the medical industry.

10. Otherworldly by FT Lukens 🧚‍♂️🏳️‍🌈🥶❄️ YA familiar escapes fairy world finds a skeptical person decides they’ll def fall in love and make a deal. I listened to 50% the characters are intensely idiotic and just…. So so so blind. I couldn’t do it. The skeptic is a person who moved to the city for their family but they do stuff for their family without really caring for them I’m just not buying it. The familiar is infact a psychopath or so low iq he doesn’t care to live or feel or observe anything in 5 years. So so so stupid. Omg.

I had several DNF

I made my parents listen to Ocean’s Echo by Everina Maxwell in my mission to make my parents less homophobic. My mom enjoyed it. My dad said it was way too gay. 😩 man I wish it was way too gay.

What am I reading next? Hummm idk yet. Suggestions are always appreciated!!!

As far as shows go, I rewatch Our Flag Means Death at least once a month since it's my comfort show, and might do a Shameless rewatch since I've only seen the whole thing once (excluding all the Gallavich scenes)

My top 3 movies are

The Social Network 🟦 (Andrew Garfield, beloved; And the editing in that movie?! Fantastic; plus me and my best friend quote this movie at eachother a lot 😹)

Kingsman: The Secret Service ☂️(while I do watch a lot of action movies, simply for fandom/pop culture reasons; I often get bored during the action scenes... But the action scenes in Kingsman are truly captivating and memorable! Also the fan edits of that movie shaped a not insignificant part of my highschool music taste 🙈😹)

Frozen 2 ❄️(I know ppl are pretty split on this movie, but I love it with all my heart! As a kid I would always used to pretend to have either ice or flower magic... So when the first frozen movie came out, it immediatly became one of my faves bc it represented that 😹 And then the second one came out... And I almost cried during "show yourself" in the theaters[and that song still gets to me even now] 🩵

So my closer friends would 100% be able to guess me on every single one of these, cause I talk about them a lot (and rec the first two to a lot of ppl; or make them watch it with me)

And the coworkers I had (during my bachelor internship) decorated my desk with frozen-themed stuff for my birthday, which was incredibly sweet 🥹🥹🩵 So I think they would be able to guess it based on that as well 😹 (plus maybe the fact that I do, in fact, dye my hair platinum blonde 🙈 not only bc of elsa tho... )

Kerry has a natural heart-shaped freckle on his left ass cheek. He'd also release his own line of Eurodyne brand of lingerie. He'd love showing off his freckle when doing naughty photoshoots, and it became a staple at early Samurai shows to have Ker show it to the crowd {most of the time it'd have a bite mark around it~♡}.

Hello Emry my beloved!! I present some MerNeil for Wip Wednesday 8/16/23 :)))

There were health benefits to living by the ocean, but Andrew didn’t believe in it. He’d lived by the ocean all of his life alongside Aaron and the deadbeat woman who claimed to be a mother. They’d kept themselves afloat with the trinkets that Tilda made from shells and glass and then when Aaron’s nimble fingers learned how to weave he became the breadwinner. Andrew kept himself secluded on the high cliffs, tucked into the rolling green hills with the sea spread out before him. It was quiet. Though he didn’t believe in all the health benefits of living by the ocean, there was still nothing like the silence that settled in his bones when he sats on the shore.

The canvas before him was a startling white. Andrew had an arrangement of paints ready to go. Deeply saturated oranges and purples, the sunset that was looming on the horizon would hopefully give him a show.

Andrew took up his widest brush, smearing a base of white over the already empty canvas. He had no need for sketching the outlines of the cliffs and the sea, the scene was already one he’d painted a dozen times over. Andrew already had a nice blue mixed on the large pallet. Something settled in and around him, similar to being on the shore, when he set his brush to the canvas. Andrew exhaled slowly, dragging his brush from the top corner and down. The blue smeared, coloring staining the canvas. His gaze shifted from his work, the sun still creeping lower and lower toward the horizon.
