The Read-Cap: Week of June 1, 2024
Sharing all the books that I read in the last week and what I'm planning on reading next.
This week was a kindle romance week mainly as I realized several things came out within the last month from series I enjoy. And those new releases pushed back other things in the TBR pile, but in theory I’ll get to them starting next week. If you are new to the Read-Cap this a weekly post I’m doing where I share what I’ve been reading in the last week and what I plan on reading next. If I finish

Babysitting Luna (Andrew DeLuca x Alex Karev’s Sister)
Previous Chapter Here
Tumblr media
Age Rating: 12+
Chapters: Three of Five
Fandom: Grey’s Anatomy/Station 19
Ship: Andrew DeLuca x Amber Karev (Alex Karev’s Sister)
Canon Episode: Season 18 Episode 10/Season 5 Episode 10
AN: I know you guys love the pregnancy storyline so I decided to explore it more. I want to show when Amber and Andrew decided to get pregnant and why.
Summary: Amber and Andrew deal with the aftermath of almost losing Luna. Amber notices Luna isn’t crying so she takes her to the station so Carina can check her.
Words: 2487
January 12th, 2022
“You can say it.” Andrew tells Bailey while they are doing a kidney transplant. During that time, he explained what happened yesterday to Bailey looking for advice or more likely a reprimand, “I’m a horrible uncle.”
Bailey looks at DeLuca in sympathy, “You’re really not. I’ve treated bad parents, bad guardians and bad uncles and you are not a bad uncle. And you said you locked the door on your way back.”
“Yeah, but what if I didn’t?” Andrew asks still beating himself up, “She’s walking and using doorknobs if she got out, she could have wandered into the streets and a car would have hit her.”
“But it didn’t.” Bailey states, “She’s safe and happy and that’s what matters. You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself, we all make mistakes, even guardians like you.”
“God I am terrified I am gonna fail her or traumatize her. Now I know why Amber was so scared before she came into our house.”
“I was the same way when I had Tuck. My nerves were shot the first year I brought him home. When he was 5, I accidentally slammed Tuck’s fingers in the car door. I could still hear his scream and feel like the most awful parent in the world but my rational side catches up and I know it was an accident.” Andrew feels a little better after that confession, “You don’t have to be perfect to be a parent. You just have to love your kids enough to get through the scary moments and do better next time. If you feel this scared and unsure of your abilities to have her for the rest of the week, me and Ben can take her home with us.”
Bailey clears her throat obviously sad, “The Miller’s supposedly forgot that it was mine and Ben’s week with baby Pru and changed the date to next week. So, we have a house full of toys and diapers that are most likely gonna go to waste. If you want, we can watch her for the rest of the week. No judgement whatsoever.”
Andrew sighs and takes a moment before shaking his head, “No she’s already settled in we can do this.”
Bailey nods proud of him, “Yes you can.”
Later at Station 19
Amber rolls the stroller inside the barn with Jack Gibson guiding her. She knows Carina is doing inventory for the clinic today which makes her the perfect person to go to about Luna who is sleeping peacefully inside the stroller. She sees Carina helping Warren by a table full of pullout chairs.
“Carina.” The Italian OB is surprised to see Amber here and Jack explains.
“Your sister-in-law asked or well demanded really that she sees you. I don’t know why though.”
Carina approaches Amber and Luna, “What is it? What’s wrong?”
“Luna wandered off in our house yesterday I couldn’t find her for a minute, and she hasn’t cried ever since.”
“And that’s a bad thing?” Warren asks.
“She didn’t cry when I ended bathtime last night, she always cries and pulls my hair but not this time. I think something’s wrong; I don’t know if she hit her head or ate something that’s making her like this.”
Carina nods, “Okay well you can take her to a pediatrician in Grey Sloan.”
Amber shakes her head, “No, no, no if I take her to peds or OB they’ll call Alex and Jo and I have to tell them what happened, and they will never trust me again. Please you are my only hope right now.”
Warren shakes his head dismissively, “Look we gotta do inventory just suck it up and-”
Amber’s tone shifts from worried to scary, “One of you doctors drop what you’re doing in the next five seconds, or I will end you.” The three of them look shocked, “One, two
”
Carina steps forward and takes the stroller from Amber who follows her toward the beanery leaving the boys behind. When they reach the empty beanery Carina pulls out the medical bag from under the sink and approaches Amber who takes Luna out of her stroller so she can sit in her lap while Carina examines her.
“Tell me more about what the problem is.”
Amber bounces Luna in her lap lightly, “She’s usually a lot more alert than this. I sat up with her all night, making sure she was still breathing. I felt around her skull but there were no bumps but you’re the baby expert so
”
Carina does a neuro exam on Luna who passes it, “Good job Luna you are so smart.” Carina feels around her head, “There are no bumps, has she been feeling fatigue or vomiting in the last 12 hours?”
“No.”
“Okay we’ve ruled out a brain injury and stomach troubles she could just be relaxing. Unlike her Auntie Amber.”
Amber sighs and looks down at her niece in worry, “It’s just
I couldn’t find her. I went to get her a water and I turned my back for like ten seconds and she was gone when I turned around. Alex and Jo left her with me because I thought I could do this; God why did I think I could do this?”
“Hey, hey do not do this to yourself, don’t make things harder than they seem for you.” Amber sniffles holding Luna close, “It’s not uncommon. In the eyes they seem slow, but babies are like ninjas when they start to walk. They can slip away without making a sound and they are fast on their feet. And the good news is that Luna is very smart, she knows not to wander off outside a place where’s she’s most safe. She knows you and Andrea are watching her and making sure she’s safe.”
Amber sighs at that and Carina makes a suspicion, “Is this about more than Luna wandering off?”
Amber inhales and confesses to her sister-in-law, “Andrew want’s kids, I know he wants kids and a part of me does too, but I can barely keep my niece in place how do I know I won’t do that to our baby too?”
“I know the fear you’re experiencing.” Carina says with compassion, “My mind goes into a dark path, and I sometimes think I’m gonna do to my baby what my papa did to me. I worry that I’ll make them feel like they have to grow up too fast so they can survive me as a parent. I worry that I am going to repeat the cycle of chaos my father started. The same way I know you feel about your parents and whether or not you will repeat their mistakes.” Amber nods confirming Carina is right in this regard, “But if you and I are determined to give our kids the love and stability we never had then there is no doubt we’ll end our family cycle of violence and be the best parents we can be.”
Amber looks at Carina grateful, “Your good at this.”
“I know.” Carina says smugly causing Amber to laugh with Luna still in her lap, “Are you headed back home?”
“Um actually can me and Luna hang out with you and the boys for the rest of the day? Andrew is working and this place is a lot more interesting than my house. Plus, this is the last place that would catch on fire.”
Carina chuckles, “Okay you can come, as long as you help us with inventory.” She leans down to Luna’s face with a smile, “And that goes for you too Dr. Karev.” Amber chuckles and stands up. She puts Luna back in the stroller and follows Carina back into the barn where Ben and Jack are still by the table doing inventory.
“Is it safe?” Ben asks.
Amber grins as she parks Luna next to her by the table, “Yeah she’s fine, I’m gonna help though if that’s okay.”
Jack shrugs, “Yeah sure no problem the more help the better.” Amber helps with the chairs when Jack decides to ask her a question pertaining to the topic of employing doctors at the clinic, “Hey Amber you’re a doctor right?”
Amber raises an eyebrow at that, “Yes? Otherwise, I went to three years of college and four years of medical school for nothing.”
“And you
well you were
” Jack struggles to find the right words to describe Amber who motions him to continue, “You have a different background compared to most doctors right?”
“You mean I was dirt poor and had a family of nightmares?” Amber asks bluntly, causing Carina to grin at Jack’s wince as he tries to mend his words.
“Okay I didn’t mean it like that it’s just that I think the clinic shouldn’t have so many doctors because people from low-income neighborhoods and bad situations they’re afraid of doctors. I mean you and I grew up in the system so we saw firsthand how it can screw over people like us and that includes rich people in white coats.”
Carina rolls her eyes, “Porca miseria do not drag the poor girl into this, she’s just gonna say you’re stupid.”
“No actually he’s right.” Amber says surprising Warren and Carina who look at her more confused than offended, “Carina you know I love you, but you come from a family of doctors you didn’t have to worry about paying a thousand-dollar medical bill because your parents could afford insurance. I grew up relying on my mom’s disability after she got fired until my brothers and I each got jobs when we reached high school. You and Warren don’t understand the viewpoint me and Gibson developed after years of hardship and bouncing around foster homes.”
Ben shrugs, “Okay so tell us.”
Amber starts, “Okay, my oldest brother had to hotwire a car to get me to a hospital when I was two because the ambulance ride would have bankrupted us. Alex and Aaron bandaged my scrapes and bruises until I was 8 and I had a skateboarding accident that gave me 12 stiches on my head. The doc who did it just gave us the bill and walked away. My brother couldn’t pay it until he started his intern year. I’m sorry guys but the white coats are a symbol for death or debt in the communities Gibson and I grew up in.”
Jack grins at his point being proven, “I like her.”
Carina groans at that, “I understand what you’re saying but how do we run a medical clinic without medical experts?”
“Oh, you can’t.” Amber states as she resupplies the medical bag, “I mean the system is broken but a clinic needs doctors and nurses who know sutures and how to run labs. Sorry Jack but your naive to think we can find people who know half the stuff me and Carina know without acquiring an MD.”
“Yeah, she’s got a point.” Ben says.
Gibson thinks for a minute before having an idea that he springs to the doctors, “I could learn to do this, suture. I mean-I mean, if it came to it, right?”
“Well, it won't unless you're planning to become a doctor.” Carina points out.
“Okay, but fine. But, like, think about it. I mean, I-The first time I did CPR, I was 10 years old. Yeah, my foster sister almost drowned in the community pool, and I saw somebody do it on TV and I-I figured it out. So I could probably learn some of what you do.”
Amber grins at Gibson’s attempt, “It’s not like sewing your niece’s teddy bear after the head tears off.” She grins down at Luna who is still in the stroller playing with her teething toy, “It requires focus and steady hands, which are two things you’re gonna learn once you get into Harvard med. Or state if you don’t want to become a stuffy know it all.”
“Andrea went to Harvard.” Carina reminds Amber.
“You just rested my own case.” Amber jokes with a grin.
“I get it but what you probably can't teach is waking up every morning with the goal being to survive. And I think that's
yeah, that's me. That's who I am. That's what this is, right? This clinic is a place for people to go to survive. And they shouldn't have to sign 10 forms with fine print and stare down a bunch of white coats. And it should be simple and, like, clear-cut and not intimidating. And that
that's what the people need to see, right?”
Amber nods seeing Jack’s point as Carina responds, “Okay. But we still need nurses and doctors at our clinic, so who's gonna staff it?”
Jack proposes another idea, “50/50. Compromise. Yeah. Half firefighters, half doctors. And no white coats and no hiding behind the computers and less forms, please. Just less forms.”
The three doctors stand together in front of Jack with Carina speaking for them, “And who's gonna teach you how to do wound care and read urine dipsticks?”
Jack looks stumped by that, “Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Um
”
Carina smiles at Jack’s lack of words, “Half and half.”
“I don't know what either of those are. I don't know which one of you specializes in that.” Amber chuckles before strolling Luna away to get the supplies for the clinic together.
That Night
Amber knocks on the door of the station desperate for either Carina or Warren to answer. She left the station an hour ago after helping with the inventory. But then Luna hit the 24-hour mark since she last cried making Amber worried Carina missed something. She knocks on the glass door frantically until Warren answers it with an obvious annoyed face.
Ben opens the door and Amber rushes inside the Luna in the stroller sleeping, “DeLuca who used to be Karev, it’s late shouldn’t you be home reading the little girl a bedtime story so she can go to sleep like you and me are supposed to?”
“Look Carina missed something or something has developed because it’s been 24 hours and Luna still hasn’t cried yet.” Amber says in a panic, “Something is wrong.”
Ben groans in frustration due to his own problems with the custody battle, “Do you want to know why your niece isn’t crying so badly?”
“Yes!”
“It’s because she loves you.” Ben states the obvious stopping Amber short, “You’re a good aunt and great caretaker. She knows she can wander off because you’re there to watch her. She’s so happy she doesn’t feel like crying. Do you want to see her cry?” Ben leans down and lightly pinches Luna’s hand causing her to get fussy and start to cry to Amber’s shock, “There, now she’s crying so please go home.”
Ben walks away from Amber who is now pissed at having a crying baby to deal with because of Warren, “Okay this is gonna get you the creepy uncle status Ben Warren!”

The last day of the Faire, the sky was overcast, with rumbles of thunder in the far distance. As Mayor Nat stepped up to the podium set up in front of town hall, a small crowd gathered to hear the announcement. She proceeded to declare Pandora Flowers as the winner of the costume contest, and withdrew the sword to present to the winner of the tournament, Morgan Vovk.
Before she could, though, Quinn Buckley from the commune ran up on stage and grabbed the microphone from the podium.
“Listen! You have to listen. This, all of this, is because of a being far greater than us! It sent the creatures from the woods to test us! To separate the weak from the strong. It judges us because it wants us to be ready before it reveals itself. We have to listen! We have to—“
Sheriff Henry attempted to take the microphone from her, but she struggled against him, still shouting into the microphone.
“It’s real! I felt its presence! Those that listen will be saved!”
Thunder rumbled, closer than before, much closer. A loud crack of lightning illuminated the sky, blindingly bright. Beyond the clouds, briefly visible in that split second, loomed a shape, unrecognizable and massive, both bulbous and gangly. As quickly as it appeared it was gone, and what remained was the sizzling body of Tristan Wilde, struck by the lightning. The sky opened up, then, as thunder boomed directly above, and rain and hail pelted the town.
“It’s there! You all saw it! It’s real! We have to submit!” Quinn wailed, as Henry attempted to pull her off the stage. “I can prove it! I can walk amongst them untouched! I’ve been chosen! You can be chosen too!”
Her cries fell away in the deafening downpour, and those that had gathered scattered to find shelter in the nearest buildings. Whether or not they saw something or, if they did, if they believe what they saw, remains to be seen.
The storm raged on through the night, as the creatures wandered the streets unperturbed by the rain and hail. The lights of the town flickered and then, as lightning staggered across the sky, everything went dark.
(Those that ran to find shelter found themselves stuck for the night. Below you’ll find the (randomly selected) groups. You can choose for your characters to have seen the shape in the sky, to have not seen it, or to have seen it and not believe it.
Everyone can continue/finish their event threads, as all this took place on the final day of the Faire (the 29th). You may also time-jump threads, headcanon threads, or make new threads for the plot drop. The event officially ends on August 5th, at which time please do not make any more event starters, however you can continue all threads until completion.)

I love how we’re all thinking it’ll be Carina in the hospital for the big crossover ep, but lol I think we’re all a little delulu. Sadly, like Grey’s, S19 has never made an effort with Carina outside of being Maya’s love interest. On Grey’s she was just comedic relief, a plot device for Arizona and Andrew.
I’m all for our theory to be right, that’s she’s giving birth, but I seriously doubt it. It’ll be Andy because the theme seems to be ‘look at how great of a Captain Andy is’ this season. I don’t mind her much, she can be funny, but she’s going to be insufferable this season. I can feel it. Or it’ll be Travis. I doubt it’s Theo. Literally no one cares about him.
The pessimistic in me thinks that the whole IVF stuff is going to get dropped. They’ll maybe mention it a few more times but it’ll be left open ended. The focus is going to be on working through the adoption and adjusting to having a sudden baby and they’ll have carina either no longer want it or choose to delay it. I’m hoping ima thousand percent wrong. That’ll be Marina angst this season. Which kinda boring, but as long as they don’t fight for multiple episodes again. Maybe we’ll get cute arguments like them arguing over what’s an acceptable amount of money to spend on baby clothes. Carina would hands down buy Liam designer onesies. However, I’m not opposed to them switching the script and seeing a pregnant Maya. Only because I think Danielle in a baby bump suit would be freaking adorable. I mean stef too but Dani will break my brain.
showrunners tend to stick to what they know: Liam’s bio family is going to rock the boat. Maybe one of the bio grandma shows up wanting custody. I forgot what was said about the bio dad if at all. Predictable and boring, but it plays into the drama they’re going for. I’m curious about what the Maya centric ep will be about. Her dad and upbringing again or something else? What other drama could she possible have? Could she be hiding something? Hate to think after last season she’d go back to keeping things from carina.
But who the hell knows. With what Danielle said in her live, anything can happen. if we’re gonna see badass Carina I think it’ll be dealing with the baby’s bio fam and legal proceedings. Unless she’s saving people’s lives outside the hospital again.
I hope we get a rated m scene from them. That shower scene has kept us feed but we’d like some more please. don’t let it be wasted on Travis being a ho again or Sullivan/Ross, respectfully.
Side note: They’re gonna be moms and I love that for them but I hope all new fics aren’t baby centric fics. Kids are awful and I say that lovingly. 😂
Yeah we're always hopeful that Carina is involved in some big way (like the clinic doxxing storyline but that ended up just focusing on Bailey and even Addison) and it usually doesn't happen. It probably does have to do with Andy since Jaina mentioned it but we now know Carina is going to appear on Grey's this season, so who knows.
It would be a shame if they just leave the IVF/pregnancy stuff open ended when they could at least have it lead to something in the season finale, but we'll see how they do it. I think it would be incredibly lazy and disappointing if they go the whole 'bio family comes to cause trouble' route considering they just did that not too long ago with Pru and Bailey/Ben. And with a shortened season as is, that feels even less necessary. I think it's probably now going to lean more towards them not necessarily agreeing on how to parent in certain situations so I guess they're going to bump heads a little in that sense but hopefully it's nothing too crazy since this is supposed to be a happy time for them.
I'm very curious what the heavy Maya episode could be about too. I would lean towards it being Mason related since that's something that hasn't been addressed in some time and they could do a lot with still or maybe it's Maya's mom coming back. It feels like it has to be family related because I can't see it being any kind of drama with work or Carina or anything like that.
Hopefully they do get their 10 pm sex scene like every other couple I assume will. You know Sullivan and Ross will get at least one so it's only right Marina do too. And I'm sure there will still be some kidless fics out there but you may have to look a little harder once this storyline plays out. 😂

now i wanna hearr all about your fdavorite characters in station 19 favorite ships and everything i'm a jack travis and vic girlie in terms of favs carina and maya and any and ben are also there but you know for the tops , i lvoe carina and maya i'm so happy for this season storyline , i really liked travis and emmet until season 5 where i really disliked travis for everything about how he acted with him and i liked theo and vic until last season as well
i literally barely remember anything from previous seasons lol i except the finale of 6. travis is my little guy tbh and i vaguely remember being mad at home at some point. carina and maya are my fave couple i think even tho i got really frustrated with them at times. i was absolutely gutted when they killed andrew off of greys — it was before i had watched all of 19 so i didn’t get the whole picture until about a year or two later and it gutted me all over again and then carinas grief arc, esp when she’s screaming in the shower just hit. mayas therapy arc was also so much for me cause i think it was around the time i started my own IFS therapy so hit very close to home when she was holding her younger self etc. i’m really excited for them to have a happy arc this season! i think i mostly like all the characters and im interested in their stories but have had issues with storylines/actions with all of them along the way. also special shoutout to dean, i have been a fan of okieriet since hamilton , and of course pru 💙

Station 19 Spin-off, but it's their kids
Tumblr media
Your girl just finished Station 19 up until the most recent episode and y'know she had to make their future kids as well!
Jack's got twins because I said so.
I can just see him being a twin dad, yk?
Their mother is the worst, so Jack has sole custody of his little prince, Dean, and little princess, Lila.
Yes, he would indefinitely name his son after Dean - we all know how much Jack loves his Station 19 family!!
And he clearly loved his foster sister so much.
Lila looks up to Maya and strives to be a captain, so she made it there bc she's a Gibson.
Dean settling with just being a regular firefighter and watching his big sis rise.
Carina would for sure name her kid after her brother. She had a whole episode where she mourned her baby brother!
I feel like he'd be a doctor just so his mama (Carina) doesn't lose another Andrew that she loves, but he really just wants to follow in his mom's (Maya's) footsteps.
And so he does.
Travis finally meets the new love of his life (after Michael's death) and they have a son through surrogacy - which Travis and his partner agree to call Michael, both after Travis' late husband and the partner's father- I guess?
I would love it if Pru became a battalion chief, especially after seeing Dean wanna rise through the ranks but couldn't because...well, death, and so Pru does.
And hell if she lets anyone downtalk her because she's a female battalion chief-
You know she's not going to let it slide - we all know her aunts would have taught her that.
Okay but I would love to see a 'he fell first, but she fell harder' relationship in S19 and I've already designated that to Andrew Deluca-Bishop and Lila Gibson.
"But wouldn't Andrew have been created with Jack's sperm and Carina's egg?" "Wouldn't they be half siblings through Jack?"
No.
Canonically in this AU, Carina's body just didn't take to Jack's little guys, and the Deluca-Bishops found Mason (Maya's brother). They decided to try again with Mason's sperm so at least the child would have similar DNA to Maya and PRESTO-
Idk if that's how you spell it-
Maya figured at least the baby would have more of a chance to look like her since Mason is her brother, but Andrew was born looking like Carina, so- didn't really matter anyway.
Maya still adores her son, even though he looks nothing like her and every bit like a male version of Carina. He's her little boy, she knew she'd always love him from the moment she held him.
Vic and Theo having a little badass who is just like her mother-
Exactly like her mother in every way; looks, personality, attitude, every bit.
19 raising their kids together; like a village.
THE KIDS CALLING BEN "Grandpa" BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS CALL HIM "Dad"
Little toddler Dean crying when Ben tells him that he (Ben) isn't actually Jack's dad-
"You made a toddler cry, man." "I didn't mean to!"
Lila being a protective big twin sister, even at 3-years-old, glaring at Ben as her brother cries into their dad.
Jack having no clue what to do with his own children, so when a baby play pen (or whatever its called, I was 2 when my little brother was born and I see my younger cousins like once a year, if that-) it put in the lounge of the station, he just sticks them in that until they're hungry or need the potty.
It's 2am on Boxing Day and I should be sleeping but I can't.
Don't finish off the eggnog in your fridge and an entire Monster can right before bed.
It messes with your already messed up sleep schedule.
Or do. I'm not the boss of you.
Andrew being scared of Jack when he's thinking about asking Lila on a date, when he should be scared of her Uncle Travis.
As close as he is to his mom's friends, he doesn't actually refer to them as Auntie or Uncle. So...
Considers them family, because they're his parents' family, but wouldn't go out of his way to refer to them with familial titles.
Anyway-
Travis, while having his own kid, being incredibly protective of Jack's little Lila and Vic's little Marion.
He never had a daughter, and can't imagine having one, if he was honest. So Marion and Lila are the closest he has to daughters.
So, protective Uncle Travis? I say YES.
These kids for sure grew up with happy Christmases.
Firehouse Christmases, for sure.
They'd probably make Jack dress up as Santa, in all honesty.
Little Dean crying for his dad, and Jack tries to comfort him but he's like "I WANT MY DADDY! NOT SANTA!"
Jack takes off the hat and wig, and Dean immediately hugs him, and Jack just has to crouch there and not say anything because he wants his son to maintain that childhood innocence that he couldn't.
Jack letting his kids be kids for as long as possible, even well into their teen years, because he wanted that family so he's going to make sure his kids get that.
I feel like Andy would have a son, and she'd name him after Ryan because we all know how much she loved her childhood friend.
Him and Andrew being really close bc their moms are.
I think I'll leave it there because I'm gonna write a little christmas tale of when the kids were little.
Regarding middle names; Vic and Theo made Marion's middle name Andrea, after Andy helped Vic birth Marion (with Carina's help ofc, you can guarantee that Carina was there for a majority of the births), Jack made his son's middle name after his foster dad, and Vic helped Jack a lot with his daughter, so Lila's middle name is Victoria (she even gave Lila the period talk for Jack), and Ryan's middle name is after his grandpa.
Okay, I'm done for now-
S19 Children, Parent/s and Ages
Marion "Mari" Andrea Hughes - Victoria "Vic" and Theodora "Theo" Hughes, 20yo
Dean Marco Gibson - Jack Gibson, 21yo
Lila Victoria Gibson - Jack Gibson, 21yo
Ryan Pruitt Herrera - Andrea "Andy" Herrera, 23yo
Michael "Mike/Mickey" Montgomery - Travis Montgomery, 26yo
Andrew Deluca-Bishop - Carina and Maya Deluca-Bishop, 27yo
Pruitt "Pru" Miller - Dean Miller and JJ Lau, 32yo

i think the reason pauls love for his children is so compelling is that all of his children experienced profound rejection from their families. Leo from his mother/stepfamily, Elle and Cam from Robert, Robert from Elle and Cameron, Andrew from Christina, David from his step grandmother, Amy from her husband and Harlow from Pru. (yes im counting Harlow as ‘pauls children’ be silent) and most of that rejection came from elements of their person that could not be changed. Preferring the brother who treats you well to the one who treats you poorly, being gay, being too much like your father, being badly behaved, this that and the third thing. But, as we the audience know Paul would never. His love for his children, as poorly expressed as it may be, is genuine and unconditional. Paul loves his children warts and all. He loves them even when they hurt him, even when he SHOULD cut them off.  It just makes me.

Fandom: Station 19
Ship: Maya Bishop x Carina DeLuca
Canon Episode: After Season 20 Episode 10 and After Station 19 Series Finale
AN: Happy Pride guys! I wasn’t completely sure how far apart Maya and Carina’s pregnancies were, but their daughters looked about four maybe five years apart in the flashforward so I’m doing a guesstimate. Now enjoy this one shot with Maya as the pregnant woman of honor.
Summary: Maya has a surprise baby shower hosted by Carina at the station.
Words: 2518
June 17, 2028
Maya walks inside the barn with Liam and Andrea holding them as they go inside hand in hand. The four-year-old duo look around their mother’s workplace in awe since they spend most of the workday in the day care at Grey Sloan.
The reason for this visit was for Maya to fill out some maternity leave paperwork Andy said came in for her. Maya stretches her neck already feeling tired from being heavily pregnant and more exhausted than most pregnant women due to already raising two kids.
When Liam and Andrea finally finished potty training Carina brought up the idea of them having another baby. Maya was onboard because she could see how much Carina yearned for a big family and Maya was more than happy to bring more love into their lives. This time Maya was gonna carry and be implanted with a sperm from the catalog at the clinic like Carina last time.
Now Maya is six months pregnant with their third child and can see why Carina was so cranky near the end. She chalked it up to hormones and overreacting but now she can see it was because her wife was uncomfortable 24/7. But Maya wouldn’t trade this feeling of discomfort for anything else because she knows without it a healthy baby wouldn’t be growing inside her.
“Okay guys we’re gonna go see your auntie and uncles here are you excited?” They nod aggressively to Maya’s amusement, and they enter the elevator since she’s too tired for the stairs.
“Mommy are we gonna go down the firepole?” Liam asks.
Maya smiles, “If you’re a good probie for the day you can go down that pole as many times as you want. And the same goes for you too young lady.”
“Yay!” Andrea cheers and the elevator doors open.
Maya leads the two of them out to walk down the hall to the beanery, “Okay guys I’m gonna be with tia Andy filling out some paperwork while you two-”
“SURPRISE!” The beanery is filled with firefighters along with balloons, banners, and baby gifts on the table. Carina, Andy, Travis, Jack, Warren and Vic are at the center of the party.
Maya is shocked at first and then she laughs, “Oh my god I said I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it.”
Carina laughs and approaches her family, “Well now you know how I felt four years ago so consider this karma.” Carina kisses Maya before leading her to the party where Warren leads the kids to Pru so they can play in the breakroom while the grownups drink and talk. Andy hands the moms of the hour baby bottles.
“Congratulations you two, sparkling cider for the mommies and some vagina cupcakes on the table.”
Maya chuckles and lifts a cupcake that she eats slowly, “Wow I can see why Andrew was uncomfortable when he ate one, it’s good though.”
Carina smiles, “Yeah he and Amber say congratulations from Boston and Lucia insisted on sending this to us.”
Carina holds up a Red Sox baby base hitter bodysuit with a bib and booties their niece picked out to Jack’s disgust due to being a loyal Mariners fan.
“Is there any chance your niece won’t find out if you burn that or not?” Andy narrows her eyes at her boyfriend who shrugs unashamed, “Hey she’s cute I just think she should root for a better team, a good one.”
Travis chuckles, “I can already imagine Amber planning your funeral all the way from Boston Children’s Hospital.”
Vic grins, “We visited DeLuca at his practice, and he gave us this just in case the new little one isn’t rooting for Boston.” Vic holds up another bodysuit for babies this one for the Seattle Mariners causing Carina to laugh, “I guess he didn’t want his daughter to corrupt yours and felt the need to intervene.”
Maya laughs and holds both onesies, “Well I love both of them and I’m sure the baby will too. I mean it’s just games where sweaty men hit things with bats.”
“Speaking of sweaty men who hit things with bats, where are Beckett and Sullivan?” Vic asks, “Please tell me we invited them.”
Andy explains, “Sullivan and Ross are at a board meeting with the city to go over budget cuts and Beckett was sent away on a call, but he sends his regrets.”
Maya nods knowing that despite being cordial, her and Beckett are far from being besties, “I’m sure he wouldn’t move heaven and earth to make it here anyways so lets just enjoy the party and the gifts.”
Travis goes up first with his swaddle blanket patterned with Washington DC monuments, “Well this is from her uncle Travis so she can be warm at night and think of me all the way across the country.”
“And this is from Aunt Vic who can already see great things in her while she is comfortable in Maya’s stomach.” Vic holds up another white onesie with this one saying, ‘Future President’ with a US flag below the text, “I know most kids say their gonna be the President one day but with Maya’s determination and Carina’s smarts at least one of your kids is bound to be it.”
Maya laughs and sets the gifts on the table, “Thank you we love both of these.”
“Well, you are gonna lose your minds when you see what me and Jack got you guys.” Andy and Jack disappear into the supply closet and wheel out a gray portable playard to Maya and Carina’s astonishment.
Maya shakes her head, “Guys this looks expensive we shouldn’t.”
“Oh, but you should because I bought it after much research and I’m a captain and I am good at my finances, Jack tell her how good I am.”
Jack grins, “She’s a math wiz and dispatch is surprisingly more generous than fire houses who knew? Come on guys take it, it’s got a basinet, a changing station and.” Jack pulls out the basinet and changing station showing the stuffed animals inside, “Plush friends for your kids so you guys can get a break once in a while.”
Carina smiles at the gift and immediately hugs Jack and Andy, “Thank you, you two are the best!”
Maya grins accepting the gift, “Okay I guess since you put a lot of thought into it, it would be rude of us to reject it, thank you.”
“Have you two thought of a name yet?” Jack asks, “We know you named your last one after your brother-”
“And me.” Andy reminds him that her name is also Andrea. Jack nods remembering her telling him that Maya and Carina told her the baby would be named after her and Andrew.
“And Andy, do you have any ideas? I recommend Jackie.”
Maya shakes her head amused, “We discussed it and since Andrea was my idea, it’s Carina’s turn.”
Carina grins and faces the group, “I loved my Zia Gianna growing up, she was an OB too and I choose that profession when my papa was trying to get me into surgery. She is the reason I am the person I am today, and she would help me with my papa, and she was there when my mama died and
” Carina sighs and Maya holds her hand knowing the story, “I lost her to covid 8 years ago.”
The group nods and exchanges sad and solemn looks as Carina continues, “And when we found out we were having another girl I knew immediately what her name was gonna be. Gianna DeLuca-Bishop.”
Andy grins, “It’s a beautiful name.”
Maya grins as well nostalgic as she recites the full name they have picked out for their daughter, “Gianna Deanna DeLuca-Bishop.”
Andy, Jack, Warren and Vic look shocked knowing that Deanna is from Dean Miller, their fallen friend and firefighter. Vic is overcome with emotion and walks over to hug Maya with tears glistening in her eyes.
Maya, usually the emotionally reserved one, hugs her good friend back knowing it could be thousands of years before Dean is fully out of Vic’s mind. Jack joins in and Warren wraps his arms around the three as the three of them were Dean’s people who loved him and trusted him with their lives.
Vic pulls back and sniffles wiping a tear with a smile, “It’s beautiful he would have loved it.”
Jack smiles, “Yeah he really would have
and he would have ribbed me for getting rejected as a namesake.”
Warren chuckles, “He would
god I miss him.”
“Me too.” Vic says and Jack pulls her in for a side hug.
Warren takes a deep breath and composes himself, “Okay here’s mine and Miranda’s gift.”
He pulls out a diaper genie causing the couple to grin at the gift.
“You can never go wrong with a diaper genie.” Bailey says with a smile, “And Ben said you didn’t have one until now because you thought they were a waste of money, trust me they’re not.”
“We will test it out and tell you what we think.” Maya says with a smile and goes over to the table to open the many gifts for her and her baby with Carina by her side. The tender moment is cut by the klaxons blaring and an announcement from dispatch causing them to groan.
“Come on 19 let’s go.” Andy announces and before she leaves, she tells Maya, “I’m so sorry.”
Maya nods understanding, “It’s fine go save lives me and Carina will be fine.”
“Okay congratulations you two seriously I’m so happy.” Andy leaves them and blows kisses at her honorary niece and nephew playing with Pru, “Bye hermosa’s y hermoso, tia loves you!”
Andy leaves with her team leaving Vic, Travis, Warren and Jack behind to celebrate with Maya and Carina. While Maya opens another gift Carina holds Maya’s belly and they look at each other with so much love and endearment after all these years and three kids later. Maya puts her hand on top of Carina’s and kisses her before opening another gift for her and their unborn daughter, Gianna Deanna DeLuca-Bishop.
That Night
Maya lays on the couch of the break room sleeping after the party ended. She holds her belly like she’s afraid it’s gonna fall off any minute. Sean Beckett comes in with his gift inside a navy-blue square box wrapped with a red bowtie. He clears his throat announcing his presence causing Maya to wake up.
“Hey, I’m sorry I woke you up I just didn’t know if you knew your wife and kids already left.”
Maya rubs her eyes and stands up after some struggle, “No it’s fine the kids were getting tired, so Carina took them home while I stayed and enjoyed myself. She told me to take a quick nap before we had three kids to cut our sleep time in half. Again. I should probably go home.”
“Before you do I have something for you.” Beckett approaches her and holds out the gift box, “I’m sorry I missed your shower.” Maya looks at the box surprised a man she once considered her arch enemy got her a gift. He grins at her apprehensiveness, “Don’t worry it’s not ticking, open it.”
“Okay.” Maya takes the lid off and what is inside takes her by surprise in an unexpected way, “A binder.”
Beckett nods, “Yeah look inside.” He takes the box, so Maya is left with the black binder. She flips it open and sees the forms inside that surprise her as she flips through them.
“Life insurance. Mat leave waiver.” Maya looks up at Beckett with shock and gratitude, “You filled out all of my forms?”
“Alphabetized and laminated.” Beckett grins, “I remember you saying how much Carina hated filling out the forms and how your brother in law’s wife got some lowly hospital intern to do it instead.”
Maya chuckles at the memory from Carina’s shower four years ago, “I don’t have an intern, but I do have access to all of your personnel files and a lot of time on my hands while I’m on desk duty. So, this is my gift to you.”
Maya smiles at Beckett, “That’s
this is incredible thank you so much.” Maya hugs Beckett who is surprised but pleased as he hugs her back. She pulls away and puts the binder inside her purse ready to leave.
“Congratulations Bishop.”
“Thanks.” With that Maya leaves the room looking forward to this new chapter in her and Carina’s life.
Later
Maya is lying in bed reading a chick lit novel while Carina is curled up next to her with her lips against the pregnant belly. The baby kicks a lot at night and Maya tries reading to calm her down, but the women found that Carina’s voice soothes the baby. Carina is telling the story of when she came to the states 10 years ago and is at the part where she and Arizona Robbins ran into Andrew at her house when he brought home Amber.
“And then your Zio Andrea was yelling at me and telling me how I always went after his friends. Your Zia Amber and Arizona were like statues while we were fighting and after a while your Zio and Zia left and me and Arizona-”
Maya clears her throat clearly jealous of how Carina got lucky with another woman even before they met, “Gianna is asleep. I guess she doesn’t want to hear all about mommy’s sex life and quite frankly neither do I.”
Carina raises an eyebrow at her jealous wife, “Bella you’ve had your fair share of suitors before we settled down. I don’t get all uppity around Jack, do I?”
“I’m sorry hearing about your dating stories brings out the green monster in me and the hormones amplify it.” Carina chuckles before lying down in bed next to her. Maya looks at Carina for a moment before asking, “Did you ever think we would be here 8 years ago? I mean that moment in that bar where we first met did you think we would end up here in bed pregnant with our third kid who only goes to sleep hearing your soft Italian voice? Were you hoping it would come down to this that night?”
Carina grins at her wife, “I was just hoping to have sex with that hot blonde who came into the pit with a nose in a bag.”
Maya laughs at that, “Well I wasn’t expecting to have company that night at all and yet
”
Carina grins mischievously, “Yet?”
“Yet I decided to chance it after you were so insistent.” Maya runs her hand down her belly with a grin, “And god am I glad you were.”
Carina puts her hand on top of Maya’s smiling, “Me too, forever and always bambina.”
Maya smiles at that and leans down to kiss Carina before turning off the lamp and lying on her side. She feels Carina spooning her from behind with her arm over her belly and they both fall fast asleep into the blissful night.

Tim Moore
Tumblr media
Tim Moore (December 9, 1887 – December 13, 1958) was an American vaudevillian and comic actor of the first half of the 20th century. He gained his greatest recognition in the starring role of George "Kingfish" Stevens in the CBS TV's The Amos 'n' Andy Show. He proudly stated, "I've made it a point never to tell a joke on stage that I couldn't tell in front of my mother."
Moore was born Harry Roscoe Moore in Rock Island, Illinois, one of 13 children of Harry and Cynthia Moore. His father was a night watchman at a brewery. Tim Moore dropped out of grammar school to work at odd jobs in town and even danced for pennies in the streets with his friend, Romeo Washburn.
In 1898, Moore and Washburn went into vaudeville in an act called "Cora Miskel and Her Gold Dust Twins." It was booked by agents and traveled through the United States and even Great Britain. As Moore and Washburn grew older, the act became less effective and Miss Miskel sent them back to their parents in Rock Island. Shortly after this, Moore joined the medicine show of "Doctor Mick" (Charles S. Mick), who sold a patented quack remedy called Pru-ri-ta. Doctor Mick travelled through the Midwestern states, with songs and dances provided by Moore and four Kickapoo Indians. The young man also worked in a carnival sideshow and gave guided tours as a "native" tour guide in Hawaii.
Moore left Doctor Mick, first to become a stable boy and later a jockey. He also tried his hand as a professional boxer under the name "Young Klondike" in 1905, and found it lucrative. He returned to performing in 1908, with a troupe of minstrels called "The Rabbit's Foot Company." By 1909, he was back in vaudeville and had met and married his first wife, Hester. They performed as a team, "The Moores - Tim & Hester", appearing in the United States and abroad.  In 1910, the couple was part of an act called the Four Moores.  By 1914, both Moores were co-stars of an act that was billed as Tim Moore and Tom Delaney & Co. The couple toured China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the Fiji Islands and Hawaii with a vaudeville troupe. The marriage ended in divorce in 1915, and in September, Moore married a vaudeville actress named Gertrude Brown. After more than a year on the road in vaudeville in the United States, the Hawaiian Islands, Australia and New Zealand, he returned to boxing once more as "Young Klondike", training in New Zealand. He fought there and in Australia, England, and Scotland. Before this, Moore fought as "Young Klondike" in the US, with Jack Johnson and Sam Langford as some of his opponents. Moore also made his way into films by 1915, playing the part of an egotistical musician in His Inspiration.
Moore became well known for his one-man presentation of Uncle Tom's Cabin, where he would play the role of both Simon Legree and Uncle Tom, applying white chalk to half his face, and burnt cork to the other. Moore literally took his one man act into the street of San Jose, California, for the sale of War Stamps in 1918.
n 1923, Moore and his wife co-starred with Sandy Burns, Fannetta Burns, Walter Long, and Bobby Smart in a silent film comedy, His Great Chance, directed by Ben Strasser (North State Film Corp.) The following year, the Moores toured vaudeville together in "Aces and Queens". Subsequently, he went on tour as one of the stars of producer Edward E. Daley's "black and white musical comedy sensation", Rarin' to Go, for three seasons on the Columbia Burlesque Wheel (1925, 1926 and 1927 editions).
In 1928, Moore took time off from his vaudeville bookings to try his luck once more on the Great White Way – Broadway. This time he met with enormous success as the star comedian of Lew Leslie's hit musical comedy revue, the Blackbirds of 1928. Moore's co-stars were singers Adelaide Hall and Aida Ward and renowned tap dancer Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. The hit musical scored high in Paris and London as well as on the road throughout the states. In 1931, Moore and his then vaudeville straight man at the Alhambra, Andrew Tribble,  performed one of their funniest routines in Oscar Micheaux's first talking picture, The Darktown Revue.
At the time the troupe was booked in 1936 in the United Kingdom, King Edward VIII had just abdicated the British throne for love of American Wallis Simpson. There was a wave of anti-Americanism, with women picketing performances of the Blackbirds, carrying signs disparaging American women. Yet the next season saw the return of the revue as Blackbirds of 1937, its last edition in England. Two years later, on Broadway, Lew Leslie presented the last edition  of the Blackbirds (1939); the principal singing star was Lena Horne. Moore's last Broadway show was Harlem Cavalcade (1942), produced by Ed Sullivan and Noble Sissle. During the late 1930s and early 1940s, Moore was one of the top comedians headlining at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. He also performed on radio as a dramatic actor.
In 1948, CBS hired Flournoy Miller as a casting advisor for the planned Amos 'n' Andy TV series. They had failed to locate Tim Moore for the role of George "Kingfish" Stevens, a role which was created and voiced on radio by white actor Freeman Gosden. It was Miller's job to trace the actor's whereabouts. Meanwhile, in January 1950, Moore went to New York to perform at the Apollo and appear as guest star on CBS-TV's Toast of the Town. After fulfilling these engagements, Moore returned to Rock Island. A few months later, Flournoy Miller called the manager of the Apollo and finally received Moore's address.  Moore did voice tests at CBS radio studios in Peoria and Chicago, and then was brought to CBS-TV in Hollywood for a screen test. He returned to Rock Island. Shortly after this, he was signed by Columbia Broadcasting System to star in a new television adaptation of Amos 'n' Andy.  As the radio series had developed in prior years, the scheming but henpecked Kingfish had become the central focus of most of the plots. In the television version, Moore played the character more broadly, with louder and more forceful delivery and a distinctive Georgia drawl, exaggerated for comic effect. Moore's Kingfish dominated the calmer and soft-spoken "Amos 'n' Andy" characters. Early in his career, Moore had developed a "con-man" routine he used for many years while in vaudeville; re-working some aspects of his old act produced the television character Kingfish.
Moore was very popular in the show and for the first time in his career became a national celebrity as well as the first African American to win stardom on television. When leaving a train in Albuquerque to buy some Native American pottery, the proprietor recognized him immediately, saying, "You, you Kingfish." This was the first time it happened in Moore's 52 years in show business. The show aired on prime-time TV from June 1951 to June 1953. Although quite popular, the series was eventually canceled due to complaints about ethnic stereotyping. Shortly after the television show left the air, there were plans to turn it into a vaudeville act in August 1953, with Moore, Williams, and Childress playing the same characters.  After the series was canceled, it was shown in syndication until 1966 when increasing condemnation and pressure from the NAACP persuaded the show's owners (CBS, which still owns the copyrights) to withdraw it from further exhibition.  It was resurrected in the early days of home videotape through public domain video dealers who had acquired episodes from collectors of used 16mm TV prints, although the copyright was never in the public domain. Illegally produced copies continue to be sold over the internet.  The series itself would not be seen on a regular basis again until independent network Rejoice TV began re-airing episodes in 2012.
Moore married his last wife Vivian Cravens (1912–1988) eight months after Benzonia's death; Moore fired a gunshot in his home because of his "mooching in-laws" (stepson, stepdaughter, and her husband) when he found that the last of the New Year's roast beef had been eaten by them. Moore related, "These free-loaders have eaten everything in the house. My wife protects them and every time we talk about it, we get into an argument. The argument got a little loud and the next thing I knew, the big boy (his stepson Hubbard) jumped out of his chair.  I ran upstairs and got out my old pistol.  I didn't want to hit anybody."
When the police arrived at the home, Moore, pistol still in his belt, told them, "I'm the old Kingfish, boys. I'm the one you want. I fired that shot. I didn't want to hit anyone, although I could have. Anyway, you should have seen the in-laws scatter when I fired that gun." The shot Moore fired hit the china cabinet; he was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, with police calling him the "funniest prisoner in police history." Moore was initially ordered held on $1,000 bond; the judge changed his mind and released Moore on his own recognizance. Tim and his wife reconciled, with Vivian's pleading for the charges to be dropped. Moore entered a not guilty plea before the case went to trial on March 24.  He received a $100 fine and a year's probation as his sentence.
Because of the "Roast Beef Scandal," Moore was once more in demand and even received a testimonial tribute dinner from the Friars Club of Beverly Hills, and appearing on The Tonight Show with Jack Paar. The publicity also won him an extended performance engagement at the legendary Mocambo nightclub.
Moore died at age 71 on December 13, 1958 of pulmonary tuberculosis in Los Angeles, four days after his birthday.  There was no money to pay for his hospital care or for his funeral, Moore having received his final $65.00 residual payment from Amos 'n' Andy in January 1958.  At one time, Moore had made $700 per week.
After a large funeral at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, he was buried at Rosedale Cemetery. At the funeral service, 10,000 fans and mourners passed his open coffin; attendance was star-studded and included Groucho Marx, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, Tony Curtis, Sidney Poitier, Charlie Barnet, Noble Sissle, Erskine Hawkins, Louis Prima, Freeman F. Gosden, Charles Correll, Spencer Williams, Jr., Alvin Childress, Ernestine Wade, Amanda Randolph, Johnny Lee, Lillian Randolph, Sammy Davis, Jr., Eddie "Rochester" Anderson, Andy Razaf, Clarence Muse, Roy Glenn, Mantan Moreland, Pigmeat Markham, Willie Bryant, Earl Grant. Sammy Davis, Jr. later related that Frank Sinatra organized the effort to pay Tim Moore's funeral expenses. Moore's grave remained unmarked from the time of his burial until 1983; fellow comedians Redd Foxx and George Kirby raised funds for a headstone. There is now one marking the graves of Moore and his wife, Vivian, who died in 1988.
In spite of his achievement as the first major African American television star, Moore is still not honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Station 19 Season 4 ending/ Season 5 hopes under cut along with random fandom feels
Overall, I actually REALLY liked the ending of the season. I feel like the episode covered a fair amount of ground decently considering how pressed for time. I obviously think it could have been better, but the timeline was just so off for the season. I think they did the best with the set up they had.
The writing was a bit all over the place this season. None of it was really bad, there were some AMAZING scenes and monologues, but it kinda seemed like all the writers weren’t talking to one another. The episodes didn’t always mesh well together, especially after the winter hiatus.
I am a FIRM believer that Maya knew something was coming her way - now IDK if she thought she was gonna be relieved of duty, but I rewatched the scene she made the call to save Zaza (spelling?) and I think it was a very calculated move despite the risk. She knew she was going to get reprimanded. It was a subtle build up, but they’ve had a lot of hints at the higher ups not really taking super well to a woman in chage.
Additionally, there were multiple instances this season they had Maya verbally reiterate that being captain isn’t the most important thing anymore. She was willing to risk it when she went after Andrew and Carina, she wasn’t quite there with the sex traffickers when they arrested Dean and Sullivan - but the cogs were in motion. She even said something about how not being on the track is okay.
Marina wedding was cute enough, loved the dancing. It could have been better, sure. But tbh I have little complaints.
I’m still unsure how I feel about Miller/Vic but I do sort of wish they let Miller shoot his shot, give him at the very least - some closure. This man has had a rough fucking go this year but has made it through it all amazingly. I just want what is best for him. Dean has such a level head on his shoulders, I really hope one day he gets a leadership position in the station.
Travis and Vic’s heart to heart about Theo and Emmett was really cute. I feel like we lost some friendship dynamics throughout season 4 - there was just less about being friends and more about the system and covid and romantic relationships. I liked seeing that core friendship survive it all. Theo and Vic are cute enough, def not endgame in my eyes and I do want Vic to just be single for a bit. But I get what they’re doing. I think Theo is more for Travis’s development than Vic’s.
Emmett and Travis are cute, I don’t love or hate them. I do just wish we had some slow burn on this show aside from Dean/Vic - but that’s one sided.
Jack and Inara’s breakup tbh was great. I think it’s an awesome send off for Inara - letting her go on her terms, ya know? I just don’t want them to throw Jack at Andy right away. Like if it eventually happens cool but right now? No.
SULLIVAN. UGH. I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU MAN. AND YOU HAD TO DO THAT. I’M MAD. For me it’s not just that he betrayed, Maya (bc yes she took him in but idt the man has to be indebted to her forever) but he offered himself. He elevated himself so much, wanting to skip the line. If Maya can’t be captain why isn’t it Jack or Andy? Or a LT from another station? Sullivan doesn’t deserve it yet. I wanted Sullivan to work his way up the right way.
BUT I ALSO HATE HOW PPL REALLY SHOW THEIR FUCKING RACISM WITH SULLIVAN. There are so many valid reasons to be mad at Sullivan or dislike him but I made the mistake of going in the twitter tags after the finale and people are fucking gross and racist.
I feel like we got a taste of old Andy back the last episode - like season 1&2 competing for captaincy Andy, ya know? There was a fire to her. I just wish we got answers about her pregnancy and some details on her family situation. Also can we discuss how FUCKING FINE ANDY LOOKED AT THE WEDDING? She had the best look hands down.
One of my favorite scenes of the episode was Vic and Carina - I just wish there was a mention of Andrew.
Katherine Bishop is adorable. Vic’s parents are goals. Bailey is amazing. Theo is a cutie. The fucking end.
I hope next season has a time jump with flashbacks.
Main things I want for season 5:
Give Carina DeLuca storylines and friends
More Vic!!!!!!! More more more Vic!!! Give her stories outside of men (including Travis)
Introspection into Sullivan - I think there is slightly more at play then we have been given.
More fires
Resolution/closure to Dean/Vic
More Dean conflict with raising Pru/JJ’s parents
Jack finding his foster siblings and not throwing himself at another woman
Travis’s mom finding out about her husband
More of Andy’s family!
Episodes addressing why Maya and Sullivan became firefighters - they’ve done everyone else but them
PRT!!!!
More Ben scenes - especially if it involves Ben and his boys, I love that dynamic. I also wouldn’t mind seeing more of Ben’s sister.
A new probie

Note
Maya has seen the impact of Andrew’s death on Carina and was basically the only support for her during that time of sheer devastation. I could see her being anxious that Carina would essentially be alone adult family-wise in Seattle if she died, forgetting the station as a whole would be there for her, even though she’s not too close to anyone- or maybe that’s what she’s trying to say; this position in the kid’s life would make a person closer to Carina? Or just a straight man writing bs lol
Yeah I guess I could see it that way but it was still such a weird way for them to go about it! Because honestly it's kinda them implying the whole "third parent" thing that they even had Carina say...so it's just weird because obviously she's gotten close enough to the whole station now that if something happened to Maya, they would all be there for her as much as they could be and help her with whatever she needed, just like they've all rallied for Pru and stuff so it's not like the donor needs to be even closer and then step in as a parent? And for them to imply that is just weird.
I liked that they kinda had the conversation though...even if it does scare me that it could be a hint of something happening to Maya but I wish it wasn't happening for the donor purposes because Carina should really talk to Maya separately about her fears regarding Maya's job and how she's always worried.
