Hey y’all, here is another test animation I did in my spare time but I experimented with a more choppy style where I animated 12 frames per second, kinda like Spider-Verse, Mutant Mayhem and The Last Wish.
Also, I was thinking of this earlier on throughout the process of “The Wishing Kingdom” rewrite, my idea is that I could animate some musical numbers and some of the scenes as well but the majority of the project will be half animated and half animatic, so yeah, pretty much those ideas won’t change anytime soon, so some advice would be really nice for both my animation and my rewrite!

"A little boy struggling to fit in with the crowd of strange creatures that inhabit the mystical jungle he calls home, meets another just like him, who encourages him to shed his disguise and have some fun. But soon he faces the choice between expressing himself authentically, or going back to a life of conforming to expectations."
Trying to put some more of my art up here as, so here are some early Concept art for a short film I'm working on for my storyboarding class

Why UI/UX Design Courses Are the Future—Skills That AI Won’t Replace

Is AI Taking Over 3D Art? Here's the Real Story

Let’s be real: AI isn’t just knocking on the doors of creative industries—it’s already inside. From concept art to video editing, generative tools are showing up in every corner of the production pipeline. And now, 3D artists are asking a very real question: Is AI coming for my job?
It’s a fair concern. The speed at which AI can generate assets, environments, even animations, seems unreal—until you realize it’s already happening. But here’s the thing. AI is powerful, yes. But it’s not all-knowing. It has limits. And more importantly, it can’t replace the core of what makes 3D art art.
Let’s unpack what AI is actually doing in the 3D space, what it still can’t touch, and where human creators continue to matter.
What AI Is Already Doing in 3D Workflows
Start with the obvious: asset generation. Tools like NVIDIA’s GANverse3D or Kaedim are using AI to turn 2D images into 3D models in seconds. What used to take hours of modeling, sculpting, and texturing can now be done—at least roughly—with a few clicks.
Then there’s animation itself. AI-powered rigging, motion capture cleanup, and procedural animation are speeding up things behind the scenes. Tools like Cascadeur are helping animators create keyframes faster, giving real-time feedback based on physics.
AI also plays a growing role in:
Retopology and UV mapping: Automating tedious technical steps.
Environment creation: Especially in gaming and VR, AI can populate vast open-world scenes faster.
Camera and lighting setups: Smart systems can now “guess” optimal scene setups.
In short, AI is helping eliminate repetitive, time-consuming tasks.
But Here’s What AI Can’t Do (Yet)
While AI can generate shapes and mimic styles, it struggles with intention. It doesn’t understand why a scene feels eerie or hopeful or tragic. It can mimic aesthetics, but not emotion.
Let’s break down a few critical areas where human 3D artists still dominate:
1. Storytelling through Design AI can spit out 100 variations of a spaceship, sure. But only a human designer can build one that feels like it belongs in that world, for that character, at that moment. Good 3D art is more than geometry. It’s narrative.
2. Art Direction and Originality AI is trained on what’s been done. Your vision as a designer can push toward what hasn’t. It doesn’t think laterally. It doesn’t innovate on purpose. It’s great at remixing, terrible at reinventing.
3. Collaboration and Feedback Production doesn’t happen in isolation. 3D artists work with directors, game designers, sound teams, and more. That back-and-forth, the iteration and feedback cycle, is still very human—and very necessary.
4. Ethics and Ownership AI pulls from existing work. This raises big questions around intellectual property. If a model is trained on thousands of 3D designs from ArtStation, who owns the output? For now, it’s a legal gray area—and one reason many studios are cautious.
AI as a Tool, Not a Threat
The better question isn’t “Will AI replace 3D artists?”—it’s “How can 3D artists use AI without losing their voice?”
The smartest creators aren’t ignoring AI—they’re adapting. They’re learning how to use generative tools to save time on modeling, explore quick drafts, or build base assets they can refine later.
This hybrid approach isn’t new. Artists adapted when Photoshop showed up. They adapted when digital sculpting became a thing. AI is just the next shift.
Recent Developments Are Telling
Let’s look at what’s happening in the industry right now:
Unity’s AI Tools: In late 2024, Unity launched an AI suite that allows real-time object creation and animation inside the editor. It’s aimed at indie developers who want to build quickly but still customize deeply.
Adobe’s Firefly for 3D: Adobe’s latest version of Firefly is expanding into 3D workflows, enabling users to generate textures and materials using simple prompts.
Autodesk and OpenAI Collaboration: Autodesk is experimenting with AI co-pilot features, similar to GitHub Copilot for coders, to assist in Maya and 3ds Max. It helps with scripting, model suggestions, and scene setup.
These tools are making entry easier for newcomers—but also demanding that professionals upskill fast to stay competitive.
Why Learning the Fundamentals Still Matters
With AI automating so much, you might wonder: “Do I still need to learn the basics?” The answer is yes—more than ever.
Because here’s what AI can’t fake: good taste.
It can’t understand anatomy unless you do. It can’t light a scene with emotional intent unless you know how. It can’t tweak topology for real-time performance unless you grasp the tech behind it.
This is why formal learning still plays a big role. Understanding principles of design, motion, and 3D structure gives you the control to use AI as a powerful assistant—not a crutch.
And as the creative economy expands, many cities are becoming hubs for this kind of talent development. The demand for skilled artists who can combine AI tools with strong fundamentals is growing—especially in emerging media industries. One notable example is the rise of training programs tailored for hybrid workflows, like an Animation course in Chennai, which is attracting students eager to balance artistic skills with tech adaptability.
The Human Advantage: Emotion, Experience, and Empathy
AI doesn’t get tired, but it also doesn’t get inspired.
The best 3D work moves people. It surprises. It builds entire worlds out of nothing. And while AI can help sketch that world faster, only a human can breathe life into it.
That’s your edge.
So don’t compete with AI on speed. Compete with it on meaning. Learn how to create with deeper intention, how to direct its output, how to train it on your style rather than relying on generic prompts.
Final Thoughts
So, is AI coming for 3D artists?
Yes. But not in the way you think.
It’s coming as a co-creator, an assistant, a speed booster—but not a replacement. At least, not for those who are willing to evolve.
For artists who ignore AI entirely, the risk is falling behind. But for those who embrace it thoughtfully—who learn to wield it without losing their creative voice—there’s opportunity. Big one.
This shift is already influencing how studios hire, how tools are taught, and how artists are trained. Places where the animation industry is growing—particularly in cities investing in digital media infrastructure—are doubling down on future-ready education. And if you’re looking to dive deep into this hybrid skill set, enrolling in a 3D animation course in Chennai could be a smart way to stay relevant while keeping your creative identity intact.
Because the future isn’t about man vs. machine. It’s about artists who know how to lead the machine.

Hey guys, so here’s an animated project I did over the last week during college, its premise is pretty simple, it’s an advert I had to make to promote Earth to aliens, but Im very happy about how it turned out to look in terms of art style and the execution, and hopefully this could lead up to me uploading the chapters of The Wishing Kingdom in animatic form soon, starting from chapter 2, so stick around for that!
