Idea for CTH: the swords true wielders all have a specific day/days or event that happens when they emerge once again (doesnt have to line up irl but more of roblox time)

When the sky breaks and the sun covers the moon, the brightest and the darkest shall rise to duel once again. (Solar eclipse)

On the first day when the snow came and the last day before the next year, the cold grew harsher then before, a plethora of frozen statues appearing all over (december 1st and new years eve)

On the days surrounding the hollow night, when dead and ghouls rise, when all is creeping about and nobody knows who’s truly a monster, a wielder arrives with the army of ghosts to walk among the living (october 30th, halloween, November 1st)

When the weather machine goes rouge and sends a tornado too far from it’s testing area, the winds blow in a champion of them, gliding through the heights with the wind as their wings. (Any wind type disasters or the day NDS was made)

The day of his creation, the day of his HATRED, the daemon never rested, another soul poisoned by a blade rising as well to cause the death of all of robloxia again. Or at least to those on the heights. (October 25th, 1x1x1x1’s birthday/creation

When the heat hasn’t died down, on the hottest time of the year, the rocks melt, the kill bricks start to release steam, lava flows, a fire reignited to reshape the heights however they see fit, even if just for a day. (Temps above 120° F or 48° C)

A celebrated day, the world grows a year older, and the masses gain strength, those without any special abilities, techniques, or gimmicks being able to flush the rest out, resetting the heights once again. (September 1st, roblox’s anniversary)

So basically, sword related holidays/disasters. (Feels a bit weird to call 'em Holidays, but Halloween's a holiday so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ )

These are cool, but their probably not a global occurrence. The Heights' reach probably only goes as far as Blackrock* and Red valley (Red valley is where the capital of Robloxia is, alongside Neo Roblox HQ**)

I wonder how many times Luke got falsely blamed for causing a storm because of the Windforce lol. Oh by the way, Natural disaster survival island is actually also an entertainment facility, letting Robloxians do the same thing as in the actual experience. Robloxians have kind of lost the fear of death because of Respawns (there are more specifics about death in CTH, like types of death and how they're caused, but i'll maybe go into that later.)

Also quick important note about 1x1x1x1 in CTH: Throw anything you know about his usual lore and throw it out of the window, It's most likely different. How correct it is depends on if you're thinking about 1̷̲͛̋͂̕ẋ̴͉͖͕̳̹͉̼̭̪͔̐́̚1̷̛̫͆̈̾̆̃̆̅͘͝x̶̗̣̭̬̳͉̦̀͐̀̾̾̇̌1̵̨̛̺̑̈́͠x̴̻̜̓͐̅͜͝1̷̞̘̗̝̞̥͇̩͕̉̍̃̈̾̿̕ or 1x1x1x1*** thought. I will mostly likely not explain more about this anytime soon because a lot of the plot of CTH revolves around this.

Anyway, with that said, I like 'em! There will probably be some small changes, but I like it. World building my beloved.

14. do you have a 'comfort' athlete? why do you like them?

hmmm, it's hard to say. i associate 'comfort' thing with something that calms me and settles me down (for example, friends is a good comfort show for me etc etc) and um. none of these guys 'calm' me lmao. i'm a pretty lowkey person, and one of my favorite things about sports is how much the games/the players just HYPE me the fuck up lol. like having the excuse to just SCREAM at your tv once a week?? (in a relatively low stakes environment) so good for my psyche!

that said, i'll just translate this as favorite player/player that makes me the happiest. and i don't think anyone is going to be shocked to find out that that's ja'marr. the way that he's just so....warm?? the way everyone around him is so clearly drawn to him, and how open he is about how much he cares about his people (even if he takes it back sometimes with joe <3) the way that you can SEE how deeply he feels things! his joy, his anger, his sadness, his frustration! all written SO clearly on his face. the way that he is SUCH a crybaby (in happy AND sad situations, he's just like me fr). the way that he's SO ridiculous with his unreliable narrator thing he's got going on. like WHAT does he mean sometimes?? we will truly never know and it both drives me crazy and compels me so much lmao. the way he projects so much strength and confidence at times and such tenderness and insecurity at others?? UGH my man has layers and i love him so much for it. (plus he's, you know, one of the most beautiful men on the planet. so jot that down.)

16. what's the best game/moment in your eyes?

god it's so hard, but i think if i had to choose a favorite game, it would be the bengals-bills '23 divisional playoff win. oh my god. 1. it was SUCH a beautiful snow game. 2. we played pretty much PERFECTLY. the offense scored almost every drive, the defense almost completely shut down this high powered bills offense. 3. the whole bullshit coin toss debacle. there is no doubt about it - we got completely screwed over by that whole situation. we should have had that game at home or at the very least in a neutral environment, but we had to go to buffalo in january, which everyone talked about being SUCH a disadvantage and how crazy bills mafia is there was NO WAY we could ever overcome it. but we did. by a lot lmao. in the second half the home crowd was so quieted you could hear the who dey chants and the "teeeeeeee" every time he made a play. it was BEAUTIFUL.

What is it about these viruses that make them impervious to battle chips? Is it because they're Cybertronian, so their data isn't compatible enough to take damage? Also are they the reason Optimus is currently out of commission on earth?

The name Orion Pax is on the log (would work if we're looking at the history of origin of creation), but I assume the truck is meant to actually be Optimus, so really, the name of the truck should be Optimus Prime instead, right?

I'm not sure what the energy blast is meant to be here. It's either Optimus himself lending his power to Megaman via his own Spark (the heart/soul of a Cybertronian); or it could be the Matrix of Leadership itself. I'm fine with either

no paternal sense, plus places no limits on the things Hertha does

Regarding their relationship, Hertha doesn't have a good impression of her father and Strade couldn't care less.

Strade shows "affection" by pampering her with everything she asks for (for him it's much more practical than being emotionally available)

One of the reasons Hertha actively tries to F strade when adult and shows no remorse about her actions

Her mother unfortunately took her own life when she was still young

She was probably the only person Hertha could empathize with and care about (genuinely)

Something I haven't seen many people discuss re: Tony Gilroy's issues with writing POC characters is how he managed to Bail Organa out to be the bad guy in favor of hyping up his white OC as the ~One True Rebel Leader~. Since the final episodes aired there have been people flat-out saying that Bail "stole" the Rebel Alliance from Luthen, or that the New Republic fell because there were more Bail Organas than Mon Mothmas---all because of Gilroy's on-screen interpretation of Bail in one scene, which is apparently enough to discredit everything else he canonically did for the Alliance.

It might not have been Gilroy's deliberate intention to have everyone go "Fuck that guy, he's never done anything good" about the one Latino founder of the Rebel Alliance, but I do think his bias in favoring his own (white) characters combined with his unwillingness to consult source material led to Andor!Bail being weirdly out of character compared to every other depiction of him (including the ones in the cartoons). Considering the Fulcrum network was never mentioned in Andor despite Cassian being part of it in his original backstory, I doubt Tony put much effort into researching Bail's background before writing him the way he did. It really felt like the show brought Bail in more because he was in Rogue One and they had to tie him in to Andor somehow, rather than because Tony genuinely thought he was an important character to the overall story.

(To be clear, this is all shade at Tony Gilroy and none at Benjamin Bratt; the recast didn't bother me and I think he did a good job with the script he was given, it's just unfortunate that the script was...what it was).

Agreed anon. The part about undermining all of Mon, Saw and particularly Bail by giving their credit to Luthen is another one of those batshit ridiculous stunts I can’t even take seriously. God forbid bipoc or women do anything.

It’s also the way they couldn’t even respect the ONE fucking legacy latino. They couldn’t even just cameo his ass, they had to vilify him because this show, as I have repeated for years, fucking hates latinos, it’s a core theme.

I knew lore was never happening. Tony never gave a fuck about Rogue One except for his only contribution being the fuckass Ring of Kafrene scene. And I do love the lore around Fulcrum and the Massassi Group and we will still always have it. Anybody eating this up is willfully stupid. They can go have fun with Tony’s OC if they’re fr. But Bail Organa will always mean more to people than they’ll ever know and there’s nothing they can do about it.

I want to expand the post I made earlier in the week, about not being able to participate in the fandom community on tumblr. It was indeed the result of accumulated frustrations over the weekend (and over the years truthfully) and written hastily on a Tuesday morning. As a result, some of you thought that I'm leaving for good, which is not the case. I can understand that response, considering my months-long break in 2023.

There's several things that I've mulled over for some time and some of you are familiar with my complaints, but I'll try to encompass some of the issues that I've identified.

I believe that a disregard toward fandom practices and etiquette is still at the root of why being part of online communities is getting more and more difficult. Despite not having actively engaged in a fandom prior to 2020 and BTS at that time, I was familiar with tumblr and its fandom spaces since 2011. I gradually learned how they thrive, what's the focus, the role of fanart and discourse of all its contributing members. And before tumblr, I was an avid reader/participant in film forums.

The point is, there were rules. Some written in many cases, but others not. In any case, we learned them along the way because it was in our best interest. Hence, I want to focus next on tumblr, with its tagging system and the ability to send anonymous asks.

At a first glance, such features end up opening the doors to fan spaces, giving more access, but also making the users be the ones responsible on making sure that space remains protected in a way. But because we are humans and with flaws, conflicts always arise. I've seen it many times, so it's not like what I'm witnessing today is out of the ordinary (except that it happens excessively).

The tags are a navigation system and a window into a fandom space. Now that fandom can be made up smaller sub-sections of the larger community, each with their own tagging system. If we respect the tagging system, then we can avoid conflict as much as possible. To bring this back to BTS and ships (because this is where my issue started), it would mean that those shipping jikook have their own designated tag which is then used for ship-specific posts which in turn leads to creating a community of people interested in the same ship and which participates in that ship discourse. It's a space designated through the specific tag towards a group of people. This applies to all shipping groups.

The logical thing and perhaps the most important decision to a conflict-free experience is to remain within our own shipping communities. Simply because that is our interest. We have all the freedom to check any other tag on tumblr, but we respect the etiquette. Hence, as someone who is interested in jikook, which comes with an entire set of beliefs and ship lore, etc., I will not go and disrupt another shipping space (ex. vmin, taekook, jinkook, and so on) because I'm not part of that community and my own affiliation and interest is in opposition with whatever I could find somewhere else. Protecting our peace, right?

The same logic is to be applied to anonymous asks. I've never been against its existence and I support the concept behind it. I understand that some people want to remain hidden and more often than not, a lot of conversation in discourse-prone spaces is driven more through anons than the comment sections. But in order for this to remain within respectful limits, we should apply the same logic as we do with tags. I have no interest in sending an anon asks to a vmin or liskook blog. Neither when "my ship" is doing something or not. I remain in my space because it literally has nothing to do with other bloggers. It sounds simple because it is. Too bad we are now in an age when functional illiteracy has become much worse and I'm afraid it will continue to affect any communication, particularly online.

What has happened now is that such common sense rules are being completely disregarded. For two reasons:

1. Fandom etiquette is being ignored because fandom spaces have been invaded by people who are not willing to understand such communities and how they work. It's why we hear much more often reactions such as "rpf is gross, you're weird", "you must be sick in the head for shipping people" and so on. A lot of us who have been here for a long time are nerds. To various degrees and in different fields. It's why we use internet in such ways and why we become parts of fandoms. But now, those who usually do not engage in any of this, have broken the doors and came in with their own rules. Or lack of rules. Covid made a lot of people reach such levels of boredom that they inevitably discovered that they can be ignorant and act like bullies in other people's spaces.

2. Those who became part of the jikook tumblr community have also contributed to this sub-fandom crisis, which has gotten worse in the last few years because of the type of blogging they choose to go with it. This is a shift that has taken place around 2021-22 when "bulletin board" type of blogs became popular and have in turn turned those bloggers into spokepersons.

What do I mean by that? It is a practice when a blogger writes less original posts (either analysis, jokes, you name it) and in turn focuses on posting the anon asks they receive, without using any critical thinking. Everyone and everything, from genuine people, to trolls, can send their little messages because the chances are high that they will be posted. Often times with barely any answers. Sometimes none at all (the worst option in my opinion and the most damaging. Clean your inbox using the delete button, not answer!). Even in cases when the blogger chooses to engage critically with the statements made in an ask, they fail to recognize a troll and thus, all they do is offer a platform.

This is now the norm in many jikook tumblr blogs and is probably happening as I write this. The community itself is also at fault for allowing this festering of trolls that in turn became parasites, as they use blogs to spread whatever they want. And why not, when that door is largely open?

My choice of not using the tag or regularly closing my anon option is nothing but self censorship. Which I fundamentally oppose and reaching this point has, among other reasons, saddened me. By doing that, I retreat from real fandom participation which means the circulation of fan contributions (be it gifs or commentary, analysis). People on tumblr don't reblog posts anymore, the ratio often time shows more likes. It is against the tumblr mode of operating. But even in such cases, engaging with each other remains important.

I understand that shutting down the means to do it is ultimately wrong and thus I don't bring my contribution in making sure a community is not destroyed completely.

But it is demoralizing. It is tiring. It becomes a process of blocking accounts and anon asks daily. The moment I publish a post, I then expect the worse. Because even if I don't allow any trolling on my blog, the core of this fandom space is rotten.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I will not use the tags anymore because I do not want to send any signals that I'm active. Anon asks will be enabled, but I will turn them off from time to time. Again, in order to retain control of my space.

Hmm...I think @galusandmalus simply doesn't think Achilles deserves the title "the Strongest of all Greeks" and seems to think that the Trojan War was just fine without him. Well given the general context of Achilles and his life, or his contribution in the Iliad I get it a bit or rather I see also where the joke comes from. Honestly like if they think that is up to them but I care to differ.

So since it is an analysis you go for (I assume you do hehehe) dear Anon I am happy to offer my own insight on it.

Let's start with the obvious one; Achilles is actually not named "the strongest" at all. In fact the title used is "Άριστος Αχαιών" (Aristos Achaeon) aka "The Best of all Greeks". The term άριστος is the ultimate form of the word that means "good" so his term was "the best of all Greeks". Achilles was supposed to be the best in a series of categories that were known they were skills required to a man; war skills, art skills, education, integrity, straightforward character etc. It was the fact that Achilles masters all the things "the Perfect Greek" was supposed to learn with natural talent AND hard work. That is the ultimate combination for any Greek. Plus one more thing known to be an ideal for ancient Greeks; natural beauty.

Achilles was never supposed to be the strongest because he can tear mountains with his hands or that he faces all monsters on earth or that he eats gods for breakfast. His lore was supposed to make him the best because he completes the ideal of "καλός καγαθός" aka "beautiful and righteous". Achilles was born and bread to combine everything "the ideal Greek" was supposed to be. He was trained by the best master of war, Chiron the centaur, he was trained with all the virtues of an ideal Greek man and then he was also taught to be as pure as possible. His natural beauty being a virtue on its own and Achilles also ironically has another ideal type of beauty despite the controversy of antiquity; his androgynous appearance; the completeness of such a beauty was the ideal and beauty on the outside was a godsent gift. Last but not least he was considered ideal because he was also of noble birth through and through. Blood nobility was important in ancient texts. Achilles is the son of a king connected to a large line of gods and goddesses that reaches all the way to Zeus with a goddess mother who also reaches deeply to the lines of gods. There is arguably not one drop of common blood in Achilles daresay hardly any mortal blood either. (his invulnerability to human weapons being an extra bonus to some sources to this whole mix)

To sum that first point up; Achilles is not considered the best because he was an excellent fighter or a good musician or strong in arms etc. He was considered the best because he had mastered everything of the above.

Now to another obvious point; that Trojan War could arguably never have needed him in the first place. That is something that is simply not lore-true because it was specified Troy would never fall without him Achilles was specified to it and honestly from the epic cycle we know that this is true. For starters Achilles took like 5 cities almost single-handedly and brought the war to a favorable point for the Greeks despite the fact that the Trojans had so many allies around and powerful fighters

Arguably Achilles defeated some of the main contributors of the war including but not limited to Memnon, a demi-god coming from the second-generation titans (gods) Eos, the demi-goddess warrior daughter of Ares Penthesilea as well as half the line of Priam. His contribution to the war overall is unquestionable. Not only because he faced some powerful opponents but also that the opponents he defeated were of valuable importance to the war (such as Penthesilea or Memnon) but also to the line of Troy such as the sons of Priam and two of them being of greatest importance such as Hector who had the same fame almost as Achilles himself and Troilus, a figure that was inseparably linked with the positive or negative outcome of the war. Achilles casually defeated formidable opponents daresay with little to no contribution of gods but of course he also had gods with him just like any other hero of mythology. Last but not least he also produced the heir that decidedly ended the war. The importance of legacy was also there and Achilles contrubuted to that (not to mention that his heir in his name created a huge empire and kingdom and met military success and spread his own offspring across the area)

Achilles's contribution to the war both directly and indirectly show how that prophecy mentioned that Troy would never fall without him. All it took was a raid by Achilles himself with or without armor and we have a huge wave of dead bodies behind him. Demigods he defeated on a casual basis across the battlefield and outside and demigods are not shown to be stronger depending on the status of their father. For example just because Sarpedon was son of Zeus that didn't necessarily make him stronger than Memnon who was son of Dawn. Arguably many of the opponents that Theseus casually defeated on his way to Athens were sons of Poseidon. The Cyclops was a son of Poseidon too as he was defeated by Odysseus. Either way the importance to his contribution is unquestionable to me

Achilles's strength did not just lie to his battle skills though neither to what and how many kinds of opponents he faced; it was also connected to the fame a hero has in the battlefield. The emotions he causes so to speak

Achilles didn't even need to fight to be considered a threat like he should be; all it took was for him to shout in fury and a bunch of Trojans scattered or daresay died on spot. His form alone had even Hector run for his life for a little while. Just the mention of his name was enough to have armies back down. That kind of strength is also important for ancient Greek stories, not just the opponents themselves. His fame and unquestionable skill were enough to prevent opponents from even wish to engage with him. Hector even knew he would die when he saw Achilles coming. He tried to strike a bargain with him exactly because he knew he was making his last stand.

Fame and strength go side by side for the Greeks. The fact that Achilles achieves it is definitely something of ideal nature. Very few heroes did it as successfully Plus the connection to the gods as well as the fact that gods come to his assistance is also part of this symbolic fame and skill set

Now on the comparison between one's arsenal and the gorgoneion I mean I will not make that comparison because that belongs more to the sphere of Marvel and DC comics over Greek mythology. The arsenal do not make the hero. The hero makes the arsenal. Heracles did not turn people into stone but he had a lion's skin on him that was like an armor. He still could achieve great things without it. Achilles even ran almost naked out in the battlefield and his opponents immediately were overcome by fear. Like Perseus also had his own arsenal given to him or advised of him to have with him like the polished shield otherwise he too wouldn't stand a chance against Medusa. Bellerephontes slay the fire-breathing Chimera because of his courage AND his arsenal etc. Like...sure all Achilles would have to do would be to also use a shield or reflections or potentially close his eyes and the Gorgoneion would be useless. The way each hero fights makes him unique and strong.

A hero is not a hero because they have the best arsenal or because they cannot be defeated. Like Heracles, the greatest hero of all time that tears apart creatures with his hands found death because of his wife's jealousy and the way Nessus took advantage of that and tricked her into using his now venomous with hydra's venom blood. I have no doubt that Odysseus could defeat Heracles if he tricked him in a set up drinking match for instance in which of course Odysseus would have an ace in his sleeve. He would have no chance to defeat him in battle. However with a proper technique he would. Like if Achilles's invulnerability according to some sources is taken to account then sure he would close his eyes and then Perseus wouldn't even harm him to begin with not unless he had a godly sword or find his weakness. etc

Heroes are not marvel or dc comic characters that would or wouldn't defeat each other given their skills and their myths are different and serve different purpose. Achilles was trained warrior since infantry almost. His technique was unquestionable. Achilles himself was never defeated in battle but by a long-distance weapon guided by a god. I know his fighting skills are impeccable Perseus or Diomedes or any other hero have their own fighting methods, techniques and strengths. Like I am not sure if I can imagine who would lose against who in a death fight. Like would Achilles defeat Heracles? I can definitely imagine him dancing around him till he confuses or tires him and finds an opening to strike fast and retreat does it have possibilities to happen? No because we talk on different generations and we can only hypothesize

So I massively respect @galusandmalus but I disagree on that one. For starters we might all call Achilles "a twink" for the jokes of it but he is far from it. He is a trained warrior; earned the title of the best. A wonder-boy so to speak who was trained in many skills ever since he was young from the best teachers. He has impeccable battle technique, strength and speed. The fact that he is not shown in lores defeating monsters is not making him lose any of that for he is having as lore taking cities by himself almost and causing fear to entire armies. Creature-fighting and slaughter are not part of every lore. He combines many virtues that ancient Greeks required and he is also shown to have many other skills or at least practicing them even if they do not belong to his social status. So I disagree that literally anyone could have a bite of Achilles because simply no one ever did. Achilles was defeated while practically half-mad with sorrow plus the help of a god of the pantheon of Olympus plus a long-distance weapon. He was an undefeated in actual combat

Of course anyone has the right to have their opinion I just think this starts from the wrong foot to begin with.

LORE | REKINDLED EPISODE 42 - TO THE RESCUE

Y'all, this episode. Holy crap. I know it's not a very long one and not much in terms of plot happens compared to previous episodes, but it's one that I've been looking forward to for ages now because it gave me the opportunity to pay tribute to that original sequence in S1, a sequence that captivated so many fans and former fans of the comic such as myself (I had the final panel as my phone background for like 2 years LMAO). Being able to redraw that scene with our own twist on it was such an amazing process, made all the better by @banshriek's amazing contributions in the background art (seriously, the background art is CARRYING this episode, I'm so grateful and proud of their work and how much they've contributed to this little spite project).

What also helped immensely was our recent anon savior who provided us with so many brush names and design notes for how they're used in LO, we had waaay too much fun using these brushes every chance we got LOL and we're gonna continue to use them because goddamn they're beautiful. Buckle up because the new year is gonna be LIT (•̀⌄•́)

In other news, halfway through the production of this episode I finally replaced my PC drawing tablet! I'm still using my Huion Kamvas 22 Plus as a monitor, but in searching for a new screen tablet, I got cold feet and decided to settle for a cheaper desk tablet instead, a Huion Inspiroy Giano. So far it's great, it's a bit on the larger side which I didn't fully realize when I bought it, so it's taken quite a bit of adjusting (plus I haven't used a desk tablet as my main drawing tool in... geez, 8 years??) but it's like riding a bike, you never really forget LOL So yeah, it's gonna make my drawing workflow a lot faster and more efficient now that I don't have to rely purely on my iPad (goodbye touch screen mishaps, hello keyboard shortcuts!) so I'm hoping it'll show in the episodes to come!

LMAO thank you anon this is very kind. the truth is I am simply an ecologist who cannot turn that part of my brain off even when i know better. like i KNOW the reason why there's cacti there is because someone just picked them from a list of vegetation assets to populate the region with but also 😭 😭 😭 ITS TOO WET THEY WOULD DIE

but yeah specifically i double majored in biology and geology in undergrad, then worked in a plant genetics lab during undergrad & the first year after I graduated, then I moved out west to do desert based fieldwork and started adding in a lot of soil science. now i have a masters in soil microbiology and am currently weeping my way through a PhD (dont ask about that one grad school is Hell).

but YEAH MAN specifically i've been living in and researching deserts for the last decade of my life so i'm always extra excited about those in games lmao. I'm the Hissing Waste's number 1 stan they RULE everyone else is just a COWARD who HATES RUNNING ACROSS HUGE MAPS FOR HOURS. have you instead considered taking a job in Death Valley so when you run through the dunes for 10 hours a day in 110º weather you can console yourself with the thought "at least there isn't a phoenix attacking me right now. the worst thing that's happened to me today is falling into a rodent burrow"????? o those were the days. i used to write all my fanfic by headlamp in my sleeping bag while listening to coyotes get alarmingly close, and cursing the moon for how bright everything gets with light colored sand. If there were two moons in real life i WOULD be mad enough to condemn one to the otherside of the earth for 100 years so i could get some sleep too actually.

worldbuilding is my favorite favorite favorite part of fantasy/sci fi and i know not everyone has my background in how the actual "world" part works. so i don't condemn people who have gone into writing and arts fields for not understanding these things when they build maps but i really cannot turn off the part of my brain that opens a book or game map and instantly sees they have made the rivers 1. go uphill 2. diverge midway through (not a thing) and 3. in places that would make no sense given topography, mountains, etc that would impact weather & rainfall. only my TRUEST AND MOST WIZENED OG FOLLOWERS will remember how much i wept trying to map out the plate tectonics of Thedas in order to explain what the fuck the mountain ranges are doing what they are.

Give it time to develop its plot and let it be its own thing. I think it’s nice to have Easter eggs linking the games but the whole having them morph together thing bugs me. It's really sad to me, I wish both the devs and the older fans would let this game flourish as its own thing.

On the devs end especially I wish they stuck to the vision the game was released with because there's obviously many of us who found that charming enough to stay with the game. That's the version of Infinity Nikki that we fell in love with, not...this new intro that completely replaces the original and basically ruins the flow of the original.

Due to Star Sea's inclusion, how quickly they shove it toward you, and the way the new intro is practically a remake of SN's intro...I genuinely believe every complaint that can be boiled down to "it's not Shining Nikki" about the lore/story contributed to this retcon (I do not normally use this term as a negative one, but in this case...it sure is kind of negative).

I suspect the backlash to Philomia didn't help either...1.3's story had some legitimate problems (pacing, managing the expectations from previews, that 7 day time gate) but "she's not exactly like SN Lilith!!!" was not one of them.

Also I've done a bit more of the Sea of Stars quest and so far...my suspicions it would just be an excuse for co-op and not really give us meaningful new story are correct, so I can't even feel like this plot is worth the changes.

Spoilers for Warhammer Fulgrim Lore.

I think the husbandry fandom has missed a profound opportunity for some juicy conflict!

So we have some general agreed upon notions for how certain legions react to Husbandry Terra. Now obviously not all of a single space marine type behave the same way but there be trends.

Salamanders, Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Thousand Sons, Space Wolves, Imperial Fists: these groups generally accept bonds and human companionship as they had decent human contact in their original timeline.

Then you've got the grumps who love the attention but getting them to admit it is like Pulling Teeth: Night Lords, Iron Hands and Iron Warriors.

But we have been missing out! On a delightfully painful side of our favorite premadonnas. The Emperor's Children.

Now they and their sire Fulgrim are often stereotyped as such. Elegant, pompous, snooty and post heresy they go completely mask off a drive full into unbound freak territory.

But their story is much more tragic than a spoiled brat leading other spoiled brats into serving the God of overdoing things.

Fulgrim isn't spoken of as much in terms of being screwed over, but looking closer he really was.

Shot to an awful industrial planet where he watched his adopted family struggle to feed him let alone themselves. It would give anybody a complex.

Needing to be useful, needing to contribute, needing to not be a burden.

And once the The Big E showed up it didn't get much better.

His sons? Suffer a geneflaw that gives them astarte cancer. He not only loses many of them, but has to make due with what he has left. Meaning no matter how well trained, he just can't conquer planets at the rate dear old dad wants him to.

His brothers? Got there own issues and probably don't take Fulgrim's struggles seriously. He's just at that spot of "Wow that sucks," and "But the others have it worse.' He probably doesn't feel like he can talk deeply to anyone.

So Fulgrim does what many unloved children do, in fact he does the same thing as Perturabo, Pushes Himself to The Breaking Point.

In Fulgrim's case, any failures he blames completely on himself. Where Perty lashes out, Fulgrim turns inward.

Until he just can't take it anymore. He decides he's going to finally be selfish. Commit fully to the pleasures and pain so he never has to remember the agony he feels, that he will Never, be good enough

Heck killing Ferrus probably cemented that feeling in him. I'm not worth anything, so why bother trying to be good. Why not just be the absolute Worst.

Heavy stuff. But this leads me to my main musing.

In 40k the sins of the father very much affect the sons.

So my proposition is...you think other space marines are clingy? They hold not a Candle to an Emperor's Child. Especially one post heresy.

If you show an EC that they can be open, vulnerable, Imperfect, around you, and you don't immediately turn tail and run from the baggage, You Will Never Escape.

They don't just crave intimacy, they crave stability, affection, LOVE.

And if you give them any indication you'll supply it, they will Never let themselves be cut off.

hey, alma. i have been following you for a while and i like many of your takes, you always seem level-headed in this fandom, but i think you missed this time around and that post wasn't it. i'm not writing you this to make you feel bad! please, believe me, my intent is not to bring you down or anything of this sort. but the user you were talking about is getting witch hunted by celeb0rn fans, and she made that post because she has been harassed by haladriel-antis and celeb0rn fans for months and months, simply for her interpretations of the show. she never attacked anyone personally, she never rebloged anyone's takes to dismiss them. she just expressed her dislike of celeb0rn fans' own witch hunts and their own insistence that they get galadriel the right way. so it was quite disappointing to see haladriel shipper such as yourself add fuel to the fire that is eating up our fandom right now. turning on each other for celeb0rn is a bit of a waste, isn't it? and we know that the majority of celeb0rn stans aren't genuinely his stans, they are just antis.

i think the fandom is getting more and more toxic, not sure what it is about. im not writing you this so that you answer to this ask, i know you probably weren't coming from a bad place, but i just think this time your post had consequences that you did not intend to happen.

Hello anon, since you seem to be at least cordial, I will respond to this ask and it will be the last time I address this situation:

This is the root of the problem here. I am saying this in the kindest way possible. Yes, you are allowed to dislike a character. You are even allowed to bash said character in your own spaces. A line is crossed when you make untrue statements like this. The attitude that the majority of "Celeborn stans" who also happen to enjoy Haladriel are just antis is inaccurate and has made a lot of people incredibly uncomfortable. It has made me uncomfortable as someone who is friends with many multishippers who like and explore dynamics with all of these characters involved.

As I said in my original post, I do not ascribe to this all or nothing mentality to shipping or fandom in general. The idea that there is only one right way to like and consume this ship is hurtful and makes many people feel ostracized and unwelcome in this space. I say this as someone who doesn't even care for Celeborn as a character at all and have actively shit talked him around mutuals who agree with me. But I also say this as someone who has been friends with the most incredible Haladriels for 2+ years at this point, Haladriels who have written 100k+ word fanfictions, Haladriels who have dissected and analyzed lore back to front since the early 2000s, who are also interested in exploring Galadriel's dynamic with Celeborn! *gasp* Don't put me in shackles and drag me to the town square but someone who likes a character you don't isn't a crime! It doesn't make them any less of a Haladriel. It doesn't make them "antis in disguise"

This sort of mindset has been permeating the tag for many months now. I never felt inclined to really say anything about it until these broad generalizations were being made by people who I've personally never even seen before here. Like my good friend @nocaptainonthisship has said, "I've been in this fandom since its inception two years ago" isn't a dick measuring contest. It's saying I've been here. I've seen it.

I don't know a whole lot about this account that you're referring to in the ask. I don't even know anything about these people supposedly harassing them either. I don't condone that. I have refrained from @'ing them at all either here or in my original post so as to not to contribute to pile-ons if that is indeed happening. I did block them about a week ago after continuously seeing these actively hostile and confrontational takes about who can and can't be considered a real Haladriel based on their character preferences. Feel free to block me if that is the approach to fandom you want to have. It will certainly never be mine.
