I'm a very new Lolita (first dress to be delivered on 8/12!). I'm a really big fan of solid color and monochrome OPs and JSKs (like pieces from Sheglit, PhysicalDrop, Victorian Maiden) and have been trying to figure out how to make the most of them. I know accessories (sashes, jewelry, tights and headdresses especially) can really change a look and overall theme of a coord, but do you have any other suggestions outside of accessories to get multiple looks out of one solid color dress?

Take any opportunity you can think of to play with layering. A high-collar blouse that shows the entire neckline of your JSK will give a very different look than a blouse with a large, lace collar that covers up the neckline of the JSK. Consider larger things that you can layer over top of the dress too. Overdresses, aprons, jackets, vests, detachable collars, capelets, shawls, etc. Accessories that you can pin to the dress can do a lot too. Extra bows pinned to the hem, flowers pinned to the bodice, etc. can make it look like a completely different dress.

Also don’t underestimate the power of hair and makeup. The example below uses the same JSK, but with very different hair and makeup, as well as a few strategic accessories to give two very different looks.

Okay first and foremost I want to thank my most fav mutuals on here which is @extrasolarish and @antilogist I met both of them from TKU streaming events and wow I love and adore both of you guys so much.
