Note: This has several direct references to my longer story, The Vyrantium Job, but the basic knowledge you need for this to make sense is that Lucanis, Spite, Rook, Viago and Teia have an ongoing polycule arrangement that is part pleasure, part political alliance. Rook is a Grey Warden who currently works as an independent contractor for the Crows so that she can be with Lucanis.

“What’s the matter?” he smirks. “Never seen money before?” “Not like this,” she admits, pulling on the strings of the pouch and peering into it. There is something like awe in her expression. Viago frowns, wondering for a moment if she’s regretting her distant involvement in an eventual assassination, if she’s troubled by the weight of coin that’s given for murder. Maybe Lucanis was right, and she’s too soft for this world of Crows. Still, he doesn’t press her. “Wardens don’t really get paid,” she says eventually. “This is mine. I earned this.” Oh, Viago thinks. This is an entirely different kind of innocence than he had anticipated. She is not troubled by the violence, but instead, somehow, by simple capitalism.

Fim was from Nevarra originally and after the blight returned there with his lovers where they found baby Oz in a tomb and adopted him as Fim so desperately wanted a child but would never be able to carry one of his own. Cue a comedy show of three dudes trying to raise a qunari baby. After 10 years, the conclave disaster happened and Fim realized he and his lovers needed to return to Freldan, luckily he had basically been adopted into the Ingellvar house, a former friend of his mothers who offered to formerly adopt Oz into their house so he would have standing in Nevarra which the three agreed to. While they tried to show up to as much as they could for Oz, their trips became less frequent as things in the world unstable more and more.

While we're here, little update on that Unfortunately, I am having major writer's block with that piece and did have to leave part 7 alone for a min as I work on some other smut but it is in my list to finish by the end of the month before I get my new job so I can give it the focus it deserves!

Had a broken heart: not in a romantic way. Seeing Minrathous after dragon attack... Broke her. She knew it was on her and did everything to fix the city or help it, at least a little, while inside Esha scream from pain, anger and frustration. She was especially rough with venatori, often killing them with bare hands. Talking with Taash, Harding and Lucanis helped her to control herself better and after some time Esha find peace with her choices.

Been in love: oh yes, definitely. First time, it was fellow Shadow Dragon, she was in love with her but it was one-sided and after some time, Esha got rid of idea being with woman. Second time was Lucanis. Her falling was slow, but deep. First she was "haha, cool moves, random guy". Then his eyes were sparkling when he talked about wyverns, and she thought "heh, cute". Then she was trying to kill a dragon for that man and his city and were thinking "Maker help me, I'm in love". Esha knew she has to be patient with him, but every time they were alone it took all her will power to not hug him tightly and kiss his sad beautiful face.

Plus, she's in love with almost everyone in Veilguard (Esha: Have you seen them?! It's hard to be surrounded with so many beautiful and amazing people and not fall for them!). If that was an option, she would definitely create a polycule

ARE THEY

A cuddler: yes, she loves hugging people. During the sleep... She would like it, but with horns it's getting uncomfortable.

Scared easily: not really, but a jumpscare can caught her off guard.

Jealous easily: not at all. She's confident in herself and she trusts Lucanis. Esha more of a protective type of person. I mean, she'll be okay if you try to flirt with her husband, but if she'll see he's uncomfortable, you'll be politely escorted away from him.

Trustworthy: I would say so? Esha is true to her word and if she says something, she'll do it. But she can be reckless and it might be a problem on some missions.

FAMILY

Sibling(s): she has younger brother, Remus, another orphan Mercar's took in. They rarely see eachother now, and their relationships a little rough, but in post-game they will start working on it and get closer.

Parents: she doesn't remember birth parents, but she has really good relationship with her adoptive parents, Charon and Anora Mercar.

Children: in the future she'll have a daughter with Lucanis, who they'll name Cecilia.

Pets: her parents had few mabari and she adored them. I think she'll have few animals, dogs or cats.

....and now when I see it, we're millimeters away from crackshipping Illario Dellamorte with the Inquisitor's younger sister, and I think "maybe we do need Bioware to stop us from things like this. Maybe we do need guardrails."

And I hate this – healers, needles, medical tests, all of it. Need to distract myself somehow.” He carefully lifted a slim needle from the table next to them. The delicately carved dragonbone gleamed in the low light as he balanced it between thumb and forefinger. “Why did you agree to this, then?” “Because it’s you.” She kept her tone light, teasing, but there was a seriousness behind the words. His eyes darted briefly up to her face as his fingers tightened slightly on her arm, and she gave him an encouraging smile.

At some point after the holidays I'm not going to be able to maintain this chapter-a-day pace, and that makes me sad.

Viago is so ridiculous and dumb and I love him. Because clearly the way to avoid someone you're attracted to is to *stand between their legs* during a medical procedure. You'd think Viago would know better, but he did the same thing in Eight Little Talons, and I don't think he's learned his lesson.

There's a bunch of moments in this chapter I'm so pleased with. But mostly: VIAGO.

The brainrot is still in me so: Here's my story of my Rook and Lucanis.

As a Lord of Fortune, my Rook Andovan Laidir was not used to be tied down for long, always looking for new adventure. And when the gods broke out of the prison, he was facing his biggest adventure yet. And as the chalenges rammed up, he found kinship in his comrade, an troubled Antivan Crow whose own life got turned upside down recently. Both individual from vastly different background found comfort and trust in each other and finally, love.

Rook was wary of Spite in the beginning of course, but after he seeked him out to help Lucanis and he saw how the 3 of them can co-exist he even opened to the posibility of them being a polycule to Lucanis' suprise.

After the final event at villa Dellamorte, Lucanis accepted the role of First Talon and don the legendary armor. When Rook let Isabella know of this in their weekly drinks she said, "You know what, we got the same armor but in your color too. Got it from age-old plunder, gotta match with your betrothed isn't it." Isabella teased as Andovan realized his face reddened at the thought.

After that they wore the same armor to every battle and were totally inseparable. "We're bird of a feather now, aren't we Mr. Crow?" - the sailor jokingly said to Lucanis ear as he warded off a finishing blow of a Tevinter mage. "You're impossible." - Lucanis said as he tried his best to suppress Spite's grin and made quick work of the opponent. Turned to face Rook with a tired but relieved expression, Lucanis pulled Andovan in for a hug and lifted up his chin to reach the mage for a deep kiss. "We are." ["aLL tHREE oF uSSS"] "...not now Spite."

"Ugh that's it I'm going back to the Lighthouse." - Harding said with a disgruntled face probably.
