Hazformers Theory: Lockdown Wouldn't Be Able To Hide From Niffty

[Note: please make sure to watch Hazbin Hotel Season 1 episodes first before reading this. and Hazformers AU is thanks to blitzy-blitzwing. also reading this post is optional.]

even if they haven't really spoken to each other, and Lockdown and the other Decepticons probably don't know how crazy Niffty can be...

and if Blitzwing had been around her the most than them, he might be use to her, and doesn't mind her craziness.

he might also know about her interest in bad boys, and how she can be with them, so she might try to take some of Lockdown's fur as a souvenir, like how she did with Valentino, and I'm wondering if Valentino could have a type of semi split personality, though I guess it could be my imagination...

Lockdown could become Niffty's target of bad boy interest, and who she could see as even bigger bad boy than him would be Shockwave, who if she tries to get close to, it would be Blitzwing's turn to be Helicopter Dad to her just like how Angel was before.

Niffty was of course a bit drunk and trying to take cleaning supplies that didn't belong to her, and Angel got on to her for it, and to calm her down he had her play with the kitty, which happen to be Husk.

so we have the Helicopter Dad Angel and Tired Dad Husk who he has to let Niffty pull on his ears and wings so she can keep happy.

Angel just seem like he was being like a Helicopter Dad to Niffty, it was really sweet, so it be interesting if Niffty did try to get close to Shockwave, Blitzwing stops her because he knows it be dangerous.

of course if Shockwave did fall for Niffty, if not right away but slowly and without fully realizing it...

the songs that would match such a ship between them would be

"She's Crazy But She's Mine" by Alex Sparrow, and the song "Crazy Chicks" by Ken Ashcorp...

I'm still gonna OTP ship Megatron x Carmilla Carmine, and when I'm able to I will add their ship into one of the stories I'm working on, but is at the moment on hiatus.

but yeah even if Shockwave did fall for Niffty, he could start with growing fond for her.

I can't help but think she might be able to keep up with Blurr in running, I mean she can run really fast when she wants to, so picture her hugging him when she catches up to him, because he is very soft. XD

but even if Shockwave doesn't really fall for Niffty, he could possibly in theory grow fond of her.

and find it entertaining to see Lockdown trying to evade Niffty, who is somehow able to find him no matter where he tries to hide to get away from her.

it could be possible that Ratchet and Prowl would be amused by Lockdown being chased by Niffty.

it could be seen as karma for the times he went after others for a bounty and took their parts for his upgrade.

and ya know, even if Primus loves all the Cybertronians that are like his children, don't mean he is a perfect parent, and he could be a Gray-Parent. I mean there is that whole Autobots having more planets than Decepticons and I had talked about the numbers before, and it just proves that the caste system on Cybertron in the TFA Timeline is a bit corrupted.

for all we know, Lockdown could of became the way he is because of the corruption on Cybertron.

even if those on Optimus's Team believe that the Decepticons were always cold energoned beings, they would have to face the truth that isn't 100% true...because at least they, the Decepticons don't take over already organic worlds that already had organic life on it, though they, Optimus's Team, might not know about that corrupted side of Cybertron because they aren't on the same rank as Ultra Magnus, who I still believe is really Megazarak.

I think I still like TFP Magnus better, he might still be a bossy dad, but he could truly be a Ultra Magnus, and not a Magnus who was once known as Megazarak.

anyway, I think that if Lockdown and Niffty were like in a type of Semi-Ship, Lockdown would be trying his best to get away from Niffty who has fallen for him because he is a "bad boy"...

it could be possible that even if he got lucky in being able to hide from her and get away from her for a little while even for a day, she would end up finding him eventually, and that would be interesting.

well he would know how it would feel being the one hunted down like a bounty and I guess that could be what makes it funny.

I think when I'm able to, I will do another ship drawing of Megamilla (Megatron x Carmilla's ship name...) and well, I would talk about more about the crazy idea about Niffty becoming Lockdown's stalker...

but I'm feeling a bit tired, and I'm going to go lay down for a little...maybe for a few hours.

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

Let me see. I believe Ive gotten to the wrong point lmao. I have become more the kinda person whos salty at main canon couples than just OTP. Yeah there's shit I may never get like for example, Rukawa/Sendoh from Slam Dunk or viceversa (why did they have so many stuff??????) or Bruno/Giorno (I can see why but theres better for the one week alive man) but rn I prefer to bitch at distasteful canon main couples because bruv some people have no palates. Anyways theres also Jon/Martin in TMA which I never liked and fandom worsened them into very imaginative ways for me to prefer to not touch the last seasons again lmao. Might think of more later.

4. Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?

Mmmm... in the SVSSS fandom I got mingling tagged for blocking so yeah. Reasons? I prefer Ning Yingying/ Liu Mingyang. I kinda can't stand most iterations of Sha Hualing tbh. Canon? Just barely. Popular? At least behind the beloved femslash pairings they are the most popular. So yeah, I am pissy. Whatever.

16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

Ok for starters, which show. There's just too many lmao.

Well, for me, theres a long running show that I would change a lot of things and thats Digimon Adventure. Sorry! I have been a long time Digimon fan and Right Now I can't atand what Toei did to the Adventure series, starting from Digimon 02. I would eliminate 02 from life. It doesn't deserve to exist. Its notorious it was done with little time, was a badly made cashgrab that aimed for Ryo and ended with Ken. Created Daisuke which personality was directly diluted Taichi (in canon even Hikari says this). Had Daisuke'a sister and did NOTHING WITH HER even tho shes an amazing character, instead used Iori who sucks so much his grandfather was more useful canonically. Had Miyako who never evolved from being annoying and also changed her dream from being a computer scientist to full time mom because girls don't deserve to have dreams outside the traditional stuff (Looking at what you did with Sora, Toei), etc etc. Ken and Wormmon were literally the only good thinga the anime had. Not even Takeru and Hikari could save it because their characters warped in a way you could not recognize from their younger selves. It sucks. And from there it just got worse and worse. Burn Toei to the ground. Who said that?

Another series I would change. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney but all from Apollo Justice to the last game. Characters are decent but all the Apollo Storyline was made to make Apollo so fucking miserable even Phoenix had to change his way of being to actually be horrible too. They also tried to eliminate Maya and Edgey. My ass, they couldn't lmao. But they still tried. I would accept Apollo Justice first game if they didn't have to change Phoenix to be such a cocky shit against Klavier in that shit encounter where PW was framed to hell and back. I can't understand it, really. What's the need of making characters stupid so the story advances??????? It's fucking hell. I am aure that if they had made PW a bit more of what he was in the first three games in that case the next games would've been very different. No that I am expecting Capcom to be sensible tbh. They suck (not as much as Toei).

24. Would you recommend XXX to a friend? Why or why not?

Mm. This has a lot of XXX series, I wonder if it was made with one series on their mind? Anyways, last time I did a rec'd I was kinda shooed away from that person asks to then notice they read it because some other person rec'd to them. My bad (also fuck them), I prefer now to just ask people HAVE YOU SEEN THIS, explain why I liked it and see if it resonates. And if I would recommend any of the series I like? I am not sure. Most of my friends have very different tastes from me. I feel like I am the token fujo of the group 😂. But at least some of them like PW and agree with me already lmaooooo.

favorite thing about them: how fucking insane he is when it comes to playing the game of being a clandestine cia agent. like. this man plays people like violins and then sets them up to play in the orchestra. it's terrifying! and incredibly satisfying on some horrific way. nOTP: WELL. this is. specific. bc i could probably be convinced of most ships if they're written well enough or in an interesting way but i have to say most bell/der squicks me out considering the tendencies toward immediate forgiveness of the whole. metaphorically scraping bell's brain out, putting it in a blender, and shoving it back in with all new stats attached for personal gain bit. ALSO park / adler. aside from any kind of fling they might have which could be fun it's just not for me!

random headcanon: adler has two brothers (which i think is?? almost canon?? idek i'll have to double check), of which he's the youngest of the three of them- kurt, arno, and russell. (i have wholeheartedly accepted @samatedeansbroccoli's headcanon of adler being born in germany (and all that those headcanons entail as well!!), hence the german-heavy names). adler being the youngest also adds to the fact that literally everything he does has some personal undertones (or overtones) to it, almost like he has to prove himself and continue proving himself even with his fairly successful overall time as a clandestine officer in the cia.

ADDITION TO RANDOM HEADCANON: i also could see how brad pitt kind of embodies adler but like TRULY i can only see robert redford.

unpopular opinion: i can see the appeal to adler having some kind of insecurities and regrets below his surface but TRULY. GENUINELY. i think this man is good at most of what he does and he knows it. he's hot, he's intelligent, he plays the game and plays it well, he's got some of the most skilled individuals pulling for him at all times, adler would not function as he does in the games if he wasn't through and through confident as hell and more than kind of an asshole about it.

Taiora week 2021 Day 1 - Connection

A/N: Happy Taiora week!

Initially I wrote a one-shot written from Sora's POV for day 1, but I wasn't fond of it... Then when I was going for a walk through the forest with my boyfriend, this old scenario/AU came to me and I had to write this little moment for my all time OTP. Funny thing that it's written from Yamato's POV, the character I'm least tied to myself (though he's growing on me biiiig time). No worries, I'm kind to Yama, he isn't a douched or jealous ex at all ;)

“And then she said ‘Excuse you? You should ask me those questions as I am the better singer.’ Can you believe that…? Yamato…? Yamato, are you even listening?”

Yamato looked to his left where he found his girlfriend rambling about some obnoxious girl she had met during one of her band rehearsals. Yamato nodded his head in reply to her last question, though he had no idea what she had exactly said. She was pleased with his nod anyway and so she rambled on, which gave him the opportunity to look around.

They had opted to walk to the little beach on the other side of the lake from where their holiday cabin was. The weather was nice in Summer and celebrating August, which was a thing in their group of friends, together with all of them made Yamato secretly smile wider. He took a deep inhale, opening all of his senses, taking in the fresh air and the images of his surroundings provided by nature and everyone around him.

In front of the pack he found the younger ones. It sounded like Daisuke and Miyako were having their umpteenth argument of the vacation about probably nothing important. His younger brother Takeru and Iori laughed it away and shook their heads while Ken and Hikari seemed rather occupied with serious conversation.

Mirroring Yamato and his girlfriend, right behind the younger ones, were Jyou and his girlfriend, arms linked, giggling in between the medicine talk Yamato couldn’t hear, but knew they were sharing. He was happy for Jyou finally feeling brave enough to show off with his girlfriend in public, letting everyone know she wasn’t a fantasy like some of them had thought at first.

Between Jyou and his girlfriend and Yamato himself were the last four. Exactly in front of him was Taichi talking to Koushiro on his right. He could hear them passionately talk about some game they played together and Yamato couldn’t help but roll his eyes a bit. On Taichi’s left were Sora and Mimi also caught up in conversation.

Yamato had broken up with Sora a few years ago, but they kept a steady friendship. He himself had dated a few girls, eventually ending up with his current one for now two years, but he had no idea of Sora’s love and dating life. What he did know, or at least sensed, was her unsaid crush on her oldest friend. And what was clear for Yamato, and basically all the others, wasn’t clear at all for the girl and guy in question.

It was a crush neither Sora nor Taichi knew of, both ignorant of their mutual feelings for one another. This had given all of their friends serious headaches recently, their back and forth something almost painful to watch. The bickering, the playful stomping, the teasing touches, the heated blushes, the understanding smiles at each other, the exaggerated eyerolls and shoulder shrugs, the bad jokes only they understood… It had basically always been there, the connection between the two childhood friends had always been crystal clear to everyone including Yamato.

The connection the two shared was one he could never win against, even when Yamato was Sora’s boyfriend. He remembered how Sora had threw herself at Taichi crying, once the three of them had found out they were the first ones to lose their partners, while Yamato only received a simple hug and small nudge from Sora without any emotion. Where Sora was able to let go in front of Taichi, she was reserved with Yamato and weirdly enough, it had never bothered him. Sure, back then he wanted Sora to be as open with him as she was with Taichi at some point, but he accepted the fact she would never open up that much to him, because it already had taken her almost fifteen years to open up to the one guy she knew for so long.

Seeing Sora so open and free in his arms, Taichi letting her in in the most heartwarming way, made Yamato feel fondness towards his friends. In the plural that was, because Sora had grown into more of a friend than a girlfriend over time. Yamato had expected the two of them hitting it of right away after he and Sora decided to breakup, but that never happened and it had incredibly annoyed everyone. It had resulted in all of them making desperate attempts to make the two most oblivious and stubborn people see their mutual crush, but all attempts had failed. Until now.

Yamato saw Sora peeking at Taichi, a small inhale making her chest lift a little, a pink shade coloring her suntanned cheeks. He could see her bite her lip, right before her head turned back towards Mimi. At that exact same time Taichi turned his head towards Sora, his deep brown eyes immediately softening, a playful shimmer in his eyes shining a protective light on the connection he shared with the auburn haired girl. Yamato could only guess that something was finally happening between the two of them on this vacation and he sighed a sigh of relief.

He watched Taichi turn his head back to Koushiro, though his hand, however, stayed close to hers, his fingers reaching for hers. Her fingers reached back without looking and within seconds their hands had found each other, finally making the for years shared connection visible for the eye to see, like two strings tying a knot. It brought a genuine smile on Yamato’s face.

“Seems like Hikari-chan’s plan of forcing them to sleep in the same room together worked,” he heard his girlfriend say. Yamato nodded affirmatively, his eyes on his friends looking at each other smiling sweetly before they turned their heads towards him. A set of copper colored and warm brown colored eyes met his icy blue ones, seeking for some kind of approval. Approval they didn’t need, but asked for anyway. Yamato smiled, then waved his free hand at them, earning him two bright smiles before they found each other’s eyes again.

They were beaming bright, spotlighting each other in a way only they could. Tied to each other in every possible way.

How I feel about this character: 

hands down favorite character of all time literally me and the most compelling narrative that's ever been wrapped around my brain. god bless

All the people I ship romantically with this character: 

annette and alucard, for my own made up canon i like the idea of a vague romantic feeling for the human form of the succubus (during disappearance) motivating why richter allowed herself to become possessed, but i dont think it would be requited in any way. i also like the idea of the succubus in her human form secretly feeling guilty of doing it because of vague romantic feelings she also developed but again i think Unrequited is crucial so its not really a ship just a plot device i guess. LOL

My non-romantic OTP for this character: 

MARIAAA and alurichter why not cause they dont HAVE to kiss theyre just important friends. anyway tho maria and richter are so chefs kiss my favorite sibling dynamic is younger sibling who has it together more than the older sibling. i think marias rationality goes WELL with richters chaotic nature and it doesn't clash but instead works together.. the found family is real

My unpopular opinion about this character:

butch lesbian, revenge against the church was the true motivation for sotn, annette is crucial to the events of sotn, richter changed forever after sotn, sotn was in fact partially richters fault, and she also did in fact want the fall of the belmonts to happen

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

i would KILL for the games to expand on richters motivations because theyre not clear. i see the storytelling in sotn so maybe they tried but either way i really would kill to see actual explanation. although maybe i just prefer to make it up myself

a headcanon fact:

tourettes autism bipolar cptsd. i think the belmonts are a family of hereditary neurodivergence and that coupled with religious trauma spanning generations creates one hell of a neurotype!!! maybe its just me who believes the horror genre is intrinsically linked to psychological suffering, probably because i myself suffer psychologically so that's what i enjoy from the genre. but anyway richters situation is more likely than you think and the behavior richter exhibits during the possession is basically a glorified manic episode with tics and castlevania magic. this is a fact

When I Took to the Sky

Arcing through the debris, the drop shuttle came to rest amidst the debris of a ship, snow puffing up into the air as it landed; flakes sparkling as they danced and whirled in the air before once again coming to rest on the ground. Pulling on his gloves, the pilot reached for his helmet resting on the passenger seat and tugged it on, twisting it snug with a snap. 

He took a deep, steadying breath...and stepped out onto Alchera. 

Ever since Niall had received the message from Admiral Hackett about placing a memorial here, he’d been pushing it aside. A memorial to honor those who’d laid down their lives for the Alliance. Hardly seemed enough, considering how dismissive the findings the crew of the Normandy had presented. But the fact he was employed by Cerberus now was cause for surprise in being contacted. Other questions followed though; why had the Alliance waited so long to decide on a memorial? Had he not rose from the grave like Lazarus, would they even have bothered? 

Once he’d agreed, he continued to push it aside. There were other missions to take precedence, a ragtag bunch of crew members to hunt down and recruit, and the Illusive Man to annoy - his personal favorite agenda. Anything took precedence over coming here. He simply wasn’t ready to face the part of his past which had changed everything.  There was hope coming here would heal old wounds, rather than deepen them.  

His steps were measured, faltering when he came upon a piece of the Normandy, his mind thrown back in time invoking memories he’d suppressed of a life changing event from over two years ago.

Two fecking years! 

It was a constant struggle to process the passage of time; dying and then being resurrected without any knowledge of it.  

Pausing at the mako, he was thrown into the past, scenes flashing behind his eyes…Kaidan's white knuckled grip as Niall slid the tank through snow and ice up the mountain on Noveria; Ashley yelling with uncontained glee as he'd skidded close to the edge of the lava pools on Feros; Garrus' mandibles twitching when he'd observe the mako on return to the Normandy; Kaidan's resignation upon being turned down again upon his request to drive...the near kiss they'd shared inside the cab a few hours before their last drop when their world ended.

Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t hear the approach of another drop shuttle.

A sound came from behind him, out of place in the absolute stillness around him. Niall whirled, one hand reaching for his maglocked weapon, the other erupting in a blue glow. Setting eyes on the source, both hands dropped to his side in shock. 

Kaidan.

Right away, he noticed he LT had changed. They’d spent so much time together; on the ship, off the ship, on the battlefield, he’d learned the LT’s subtle mannerisms. Gone was the quiet, sensitive marine soldier with stars in his eyes, the romantic he’d claimed to be back on the SR-1. In the eyes staring back at him carefully, in the posture of the man before him, there was a confidence and maturity he’d not had before. There was also doubt. 

It's me, Niall wanted to say, to reassure. It just wasn't so simple.

He watched the play of emotions in the deep brown eyes he'd dreamed about so often. Their eyes locked and he was thrown back in time. Although for him, it was only a few months ago...not two years, when they’d been sitting in the mess on the SR-1, drinking coffee and going over their notes on the Terminus. Niall had been going on about the goose chase they'd been sent on...

“I cannae believe they sent us out to the arse end of space for nothing! Wasted two fucking weeks looking for something which isnae even here.” He slammed his fist on the table, other soldiers in the mess startled at his outburst. Niall ignored them. 

“I’m sure they just wanted us out of the way but we’ll find something, Shepard. We just have to be patient.” 

Niall snorted, “My patience ran dry about an hour inta this mission. I’ll contact those doaty bampots and tell 'em what I really think.” 

Kaidan chuckled, took a sip of his coffee before answering, “Not your best idea by a long shot.” 

Winking at him and enjoying the slight blush across the cheeks, Niall smiled, “Aye but it’ll be fun and blow off some steam.” 

In the end, nothing came of it as the ship rocked hard to port and alarms began to blare around them...

A cough brought him back to the present, watching the brown eyes change in the light, the initial confusion fading to doubt, then replaced with wariness. 

"Who are you?" The first words to be spoken aloud between them, in the same velvety rasp which had haunted Niall’s dreams.

They cut deep, hurt worse than any wound he’d endured. He straightened up, pushing the pain away and answered. 

“Who d'ya think it is? Jolly ol' St. Nick? Tis me, Kaidan. Niall.” He felt like he was stating the obvious, words coming out sharper than intended. 

Silence followed his outburst, the sound of wind wailing in the distance filling the stillness. As the quiet stretched on, Niall reflected on the situation, quickly realizing if roles were reversed, he'd be suspicious as well. Indignation sailed away like a balloon on the wind.

Ready to apologize, Kaidan spoke before Niall could ready his words, “I thought--” voice hoarse with agony, he choked on whatever he’d been about to say, unable to continue. Looking away from Niall, he composed himself, took a deep breath and despite his attempt to remain calm, blurted, “You...you were dead.” 

Biting his tongue against voicing the LT’s mighty powers of observation, Niall fought for something a wee bit more serious and relatable. Now wasnae the time for jokes. 

“Aye," the words ‘but now I’m not’ still echoing in the air between them. How could he begin to explain what he dinnae understand himself? As if he were stuck in quick sand, he felt the more he tried to climb out, the deeper he sank. 

“So, the rumors were true.” 

“Och, aye, guess they were.” 

“When?” 

The wealth of emotion in the single word struck Niall right in the heart, nearly making him stagger from the pain. He fought for an answer, disregarding one after another as they came to him. 

With a heavy sigh, he decided on the truth, “Several months ago.” The dark brows inside the black helmet furrowed downwards into a frown he was all too familiar with. Even to his own ears the response sounded lame. “I dinnae know until then. I was...uh...I doonae even know what to call it...brought back to life?” He threw his hands up in frustration. 

Disbelief followed his statement, turning quickly to suspicion. He could see the change in Kaidan's eyes through the visor. Tone flat, he echoed, “Brought back to life." At Niall’s nod of confirmation, his voice rose, "How is such a thing even possible? Who is...capable of such a thing?” 

Knowing how Kaidan felt about the organization, Niall didn't spare him the facts. He'd find out anyway. “Cerberus.” 

The climate of Alchera was cold and frigid, unfit for flora or fauna to sustain life. Even inside his armor, Naill could feel the chill in the air and had simply wanted to walk through the ruins and leave quickly. He’d never expected to find a dog tag or get lost in memories. 

And now, with his confession, the temperature seemed to drop even further; at least where the two of them stood. Kaidan stared at him for several long, agonizing seconds. He didn’t bother answering, turning around and walking away.

Niall jumped forward, his gloved hands capturing Kaidan’s stopping him, “Wait, please. Don’t go.” 

His gaze dropped down to where their hands were joined; Niall's did as well, heart skipping in his chest. “Please.” He wasn't above begging, not when it came to Kaidan. 

Pulling his hand from Niall’s, Kaidan turned away; yet, he didn’t leave. Several minutes went by; Niall held his breath. “How could you? It’s...they’re Cerberus! You know what they’ve done. The...the things we saw!” 

Fully aware of what his impassioned words implied, Niall felt his anger rise in response, “Did ya think I had a choice in this? As if I could pick and choose who would ha’ the honors of...of fixing...of rebuilding me? Fuck! I wouldnae have chosen this at all...if anyone had ever bothered to ask me first. But here I am and will damn well make the best of it, ya ken?”

Silence stretched on around them. “Are you…you?” Kaidan whispered.

How many times had he looked in the mirror wondering the exact same thing? “I doonae know, Kaidan…" He repeated in a whisper, "I doonae know."

With the admission, he could not look at Kaidan anymore, gazed around them instead. He saw a glint of something shiny; another set of dog tags perhaps. 

To fill the void, he explained, “Saw something sparkle in the sun shortly after I landed. Walked over and found a set of dog tags belonging to Pressly. As I wandered among the wreckage I found more from the crew...the ones who…” he couldn’t say it out loud, felt a hand settle on his shoulder. 

Startled, he turned to stare at it, unable to process the gesture with Kaidan’s protests from a few short minutes ago. Did he believe him now or was it all just for show? Yet, Kaidan had never been superficial. Something Niall admired about him, then and now. 

“We’ll do it together.” The words startled him even more than the touch, but he was grateful. 

“Aye. Tapadh leat.” **

Searching the pieces of the Normandy side by side. As the looked, Niall noticed the sky darkening overhead. Caught up in the past, neither of them had paid any attention. A storm was approaching; a large one. Seeing another glint of metal, Niall brushed off the snow and wrapped the chain around his gloved fingers. 

The storm had intensified and was coming at them fast and furious. There wasn’t time for them to get to their drop shuttles and leave.

He turned and tapped on Kaidan’s helmet. “We need to take cover. Now! Get inside one of the drop shuttles!” Niall took off at a dead run towards the one closest, Kaidan hot on his heels. 

Jumping inside, Niall slammed his fist against the touchpad, shutting the door just as the storm growled over them, ice chips beating a staccato against the steel hull. Wind buffeted the Kodiak, causing it to rock before sliding a few inches along the ground. Unable to radio out and with no one able to contact them, they were sitting ducks at the mercy of the storm.  

Niall reached up and took off his helmet, scrubbing his shorn, itchy scalp with gloved fingertips. 

“You...you’re...the scars?” Kaidan finally managed. 

Niall had forgotten. Not completely healed when the Lazarus project had been sabotaged, he was left with scars where his skin hadn’t had time to knit back together. Chakwas told him by remaining calm they would eventually heal and fade but with stress, they would remain...or get worse. 

Well...

He turned towards Kaidan, their eyes locking. Niall wasn’t the man he’d been the last time they’d seen each other. 

“Aye, scars. I wasnae fully healed when...well, when I was brought out of my coma.” He went to replace his helmet. 

Kaidan stopped him, hand on his arm. “No, don’t. I don’t care what you look like, Niall. I just...I was surprised.” 

He nodded. No moreso than he when he first looked in the mirror. The image staring back at him had been a great shock. That mirror had been replaced. Niall went and sat down on the bench in the back; Kaidan remained standing, neither one speaking as the storm raged on outside. It might last an hour or maybe days. 

“Look, Kaidan--”

“Niall, I--”

Both of them spoke at once. Niall gave a weak grin as Kaidan chuckled and he noticed the pink hue covering the tips of the ears. Some things hadn’t changed. He felt as if a weight had been lifted and he’d been granted a boon. 

Looking at Kaidan straight on, he began again, “I ken how it looks. I do. But, before you draw and quarter me, I dinnae now what to do, where to go. The Alliance won’t ha’ me now and I talked with Anderson and Hackett. They know what’s going on with the human abductions. The Council won’t listen.” He spat the name, no more enamored with them than in the past. “What would ya ha’ me do?” 

“Plead your case, push them. Be relentless like you were before. They have to see reason.” 

Shaking his head at Kaidan’s blind faith, he countered, “Do they? Have they ever? Have ya forgotten Sovereign? The Citadel doesnae even remember, the damage wwept away like so much garbage, forgotten and moved on.” 

The shoulders slumped. Niall studied him, drinking in the sight of a man he hadn’t realized how much he’d begun to care about. Until he was gone. Yet, here he was right in front of him. And they were arguing, Kaidan too blind to see what was so obvious. He stood up, stepping forward until they were nearly nose to nose. Kaidan looked up. 

Niall lost himself in the brown eyes, a golden amber when the light overhead caught them just right. How had he never noticed before? The laugh lines spreading out from the corners of his eyes, the freckles above his right eyebrow. So many details he’s missed. No, he’d never bothered to find. Now, he noticed them all...and more. 

Adrenaline surged in his blood, excitement unfurling within him. He remembered the scars over Kaidan’s lips, wanting to touch them, see how they felt beneath his fingertips...against his tongue. They were right there in front of him now. Overcome with a tidal wave of pent up emotions, he acted on impulse. 

Leaning forward, he captured Kaidan’s mouth with his, losing himself in the scent and taste of him, in the soft lips, his tongue tracing the scars...finally. 

Lost in a longing he had no name for, it took Niall several seconds to register there was no reciprocation. His heart twisted painfully inside his chest. So, this was it, then. He took a deep breath, ready to apologize. But, as he stepped away, he stumbled, Kaidan surging forward to initiate the kiss this time. 

The Kodiak faded away, as did the storm outside. Only the two of them existed in this perfect moment and Niall drank it up like a parched man in the desert until they both broke away, simply in order to breathe.

Events leading up to and immediately after the birth of the Calypso Twins: a love story and a story about Leda and Typhon, though I wouldn’t call it a love story about Leda and Typhon. Inspired by “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius”, Bianca by Guido Crepax and those “naughty” fairy tale anthologies from the 90’s.

So, that’s my headcanon post.

Otherwise known as “Sepulchre”. It’s also another grimy Borderlands fic. It was inspired by “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius”, Bianca by Guido Crepax and those books of “sexy” fairytale retellings they used to print in the 90s. It was motivated by the fact I got myself into this situation where I couldn’t go any further forward in Grimeverse without solidifying some of the lore. Or, as I put it to a friend “meat tenderized the lore in”.

I hate lore. Can’t I just tell a damn story? I am, fundamentally, always in it for the story first. Then making people cry and/or throw things. You may ask what the hell I’m doing in Calypso-based Blands fandom if I hate making up lore, and the answer is, extreme LSS, lol oops. But I’m not just making the best of it. I’m having a great time and have met a lot of wonderful people. So many wonderful people, I’ve chosen to thank all of them personally rather than run this author’s note into quadruple digits. You are all lovely people. Thank you so much for all you do: reading, writing, commenting, cracking jokes and helping my old ass learn to draw. I painted wisteria, you guys. Wisteria! It was awful.

Anyway, “Sepulchre” is made of equal parts of things I’ve always known are true for this AU, things I had to decide while I was working and things I had no reason not to make true. It grew out from the scene of Typhon finding the twins still alive after he’d left them to die of exposure.

Yes, that’s been a fact this entire time. No, the twins don’t know and they’ll probably never find out. Leda never knew in the same way Typhon will never learn the twins aren’t his.

Things That Were Always True: Typhon’s ability to find Vaults being based on a streak of Teela Brown-esque luck, the thing with Sirens having people drawn to them, Sirens being subspace entities from another dimension, Tyreen having been born with exomphalos. Actually, if you squint, that last one is implied in Satellite.

Things I Had To Decide: the Rosette orbit since the timeline for settling Pandora felt like it was on fast forward up close, just how morally gray Leda happened to be, the details of Typhon’s lousy childhood + realizing I was going to have to be at least a little sympathetic towards him in spite of everything (dammit he ended up being fun to write), the whole thing about the poppies, the thing that Typhon apparently has some sort of reproductive issue, the kennings and Aspects for the other Sirens.

Things I Had No Reason Not To Do:

Mauser_Frau: unless it would make you happy that Ty is her own other parent 'cause it costs $0.00 for me to mention that little Tyreen looks eerily like her and then Troy's what Leda would be like as a boy so basically Typhon wasn't involved and that's par weird for me XD

WAD was here: Ummm...is it weird that I want the Yuri thing to be your canon? XDDD Please make that the canon, that's badass! Also HAHAHAHA FUUUUUUCK YOU TRASH MAN!

Yamcha if you're still doing the character meme?

I am still doing these, and I’m enjoying it, so keep ‘em coming.   Before I start, let me promote the original post, in case anyone else wants to start their own thing.  I’d link to the OP, but I guess they deleted this from their blog, probably because their notifications went nuts.

Give me a character and I will answer:

Why I like them: Let’s be honest, Yamcha doesn’t get a lot of big “hero moments” in Dragon Ball.   Or Dragon Ball Z, or Dragon Ball GT, or Dragon Ball Su-- Look, you get the idea.   In most arcs, he’s the first one to get benched.   In tournaments, he always loses in the first round.   He spent the King Piccolo Saga recovering from a broken leg.    Against the Saiyans, he was the first one to die.  Against the Androids, he was nearly killed and had to sit out the rest of that arc.   In the Buu Sagas he was retired.    In a number of major storylines, he just isn’t there, because no one called him.

But he remains a fixture in the franchise anyway, because he’s always showing up for more.  Let’s take the Buu Saga as an example.   It didn’t surprise me to find out he had retired, mainly from a dramatic standpoint.    There’s a lot of new characters in the Buu arc, and it made sense for some of the older characters to step aside and make room for them.   But he’s still there, because he wants to see Goku one last time, and he wants to hang out with his friends and watch some of them kick the crap out of each other.   It was kind of sad to see him stay behind while the others rushed off to follow the Supreme Kai, but he’s retired, after all.    Also, they didn’t stop to fill him in on what was happening.    I suspect he might have tagged along if they asked.  

As it was, he still ended up getting involved, and he was with the Dragon Team right up until Super Buu cornered them on the Lookout.     And the next time we see him, he’s on the Grand Kai Planet with Krillin, and King Kai seriously considers sending them in to take on Buu in case Goku and Vegeta can’t get the job done.   

And that’s a big deal, because it even comes up in the anime.   King Kai tells them that he arranged for them to keep their bodies as a precaution, but he’s totally in favor of letting them remain on the Grand Kai Planet with all of the other honored warriors, like Goku.  So you start with this desert bandit, a highwayman without a highway, probably because he’s afraid of all the women that use the interstate.   But he gradually overcomes his fears and insecurities, never completely, but just enough to put one foot in front of the other and become a better man.    And finally he ends up receiving a place among the great heroes of old.  

So why doesn’t that get more attention?   You could make a whole epic story out of that, except it’s not Yamcha’s story.  He’s a supporting character.   So the franchise itself tends to play it down.    Even Yamcha doesn’t really take it all that seriously.   I don’t know if that’s modesty or cluelessness or Big Himbo Energy or what, but that’s why it’s so easy for everyone to write him off as a loser or a failure.   They’re overlooking the bigger picture.

The best way to illustrate this is with this TFS short that serves as an epilogue to their DBZ Abridged series.   Yamcha goes back to playing baseball for the Taitans, only to get fired, because he’s so talented that he’s literally broken the game, and no one buys tickets anymore.    But he gets a gigantic severance package, and he still goes down in history as the greatest ballplayer in history.  What always gets to me is that they have to explain to him that this is actually a win.  As his coach puts it, “you do nothing but win.”   

Like Yamcha himself, we often see him from the lens of these insane Dragon Ball adventures, where you have to have glowy hair and a hot cyborg wife to be considered a success.   But to the rest of the world, he’s a jacked up millionaire with fantastic hair, and he’s a real sweetheart.   Who couldn’t like this dude?

Why I don’t: As you may have noticed, I tend to only use this section to talk about why I disliked the characters initially.   I have to think back to 1999 when I was still having trouble keeping track of who’s who.   In particular, I found Yamcha’s presence frustrating because he looked and dressed almost exactly like Goku, but not quite, which seemed bizarre.    Later, I picked up on the context, and it didn’t bother me as much.  

Yamcha does have a bit of an overconfident streak in some situations, which might look like unfounded arrogance, but I think it’s really just his carefree nature and enthusiastic can-do spirit.   He was confident about their chances against the Saiyans, but I don’t think that was him being cocky.   He just knew they had all trained hard and he was stronger than he’d ever been.    But that’s easy for people to jump on as a reason to hate the guy.  

Future Trunks claimed that he fooled around while he was involved with Bulma, but come on.    Does anyone really buy that?    Besides, at best, that would only apply to Future Yamcha, the one who died in the other timeline.   Once Trunks changed the past, all bets were off.

Favorite episode (scene if movie): I’m gonna get a little nuts here and go with TFS’s playthrough of Legacy of Goku I, where they decided to level up Yamcha and have him solo Broly.

Basically, in an RPG game like this, Wolf Fang Fist can do monster damage, so they maxed out Yamcha’s stats to wreck the game’s hidden superboss.  You have to skip to 1:40:00 or so to see the successful attempt, but I loved this video.   This is where I learned to respect the utterance of “Roga... fufuken!”  Broly probably would have respected it, too, except he died from all those hits he took.

Favorite season/movie: You know, that fight with Tien was a classic.   Not sure it’s in my top ten, but it’s on a lot of people’s lists, and I absolutely get that.

Dumb as it may sound, I enjoyed seeing Yamcha in the hospital, wrestling with his own despair as he recuperated from his broken leg.   And when he shows up at the end to congratulate Tien and accepts Tien’s apology, well, like I said, Yamcha has this great character arc, but it’s easy to overlook with everything else that goes on.

Favorite line: I forget which game it was in, maybe Budokai 3, but one of his pre-fight taunts is “Watch this, Puar!  I’m gonna win!”, which always makes me think of Puar sitting just off-camera, watching the action from a little lawn chair.  

Favorite outfit:

I may take some heat for this, but I like the Androids/Cell Saga version of Yamcha, with the short, spiky hair.  This dude’s long, luxurious rockstar ‘do is a national treasure, sure, but I dig this look more.  

Also, I consider Yamcha to be the only guy from the Turtle School who pulls off the slippers and no-blue-undershirt look.   It looks off when I see it on Krillin and Goku, but with Yamcha it just feels right. 

OTP: This guy gets shipped with a lot of people, probably because he’s one of the major characters without an established love interest.   Folks still carry a torch for Bulma, some people ship him with Tien, Frieza hit on him in FighterZ, and I’m still trying to make sense of that.   He flirts with your character in the Xenoverse games.    Years ago, I considered doing something with that, but I’ve fleshed out my OC enough to where I don’t think that fits. 

At the end of the day, I can only see Yamcha getting together with @cozymochi ‘s OC, Marzi.  

Brotp: Tien, Krillin, Goku.  Hell, I always figured Yamcha was one of the few people Vegeta could get along with to some extent.  

I mean, Tien couldn’t stand to be one the same planet as Vegeta, but Yamcha keeps coming over to have hot dogs at Bulma’s place, long after the Namekians have left.  

Head Canon: He’s Luffa’s type, don’t get me wrong.    I just don’t see any room in my fic for a whirlwind courtship.    The stars just don’t align.

Unpopular opinion: I’m not really behind this notion that they should give the humans more stuff to do in future series.   When it comes to supporting characters, sometimes they get phased out, and there’s no point in phasing them back in unless there’s a compelling story idea for them.   

I think it’s dumb how they teased Yamcha in the Tournament of Power prelude, only to leave him out of the tournament itself.    On the other hand, they put Tien on the team and barely used him, which tells me that even if they’d put Yamcha on the team, it wouldn’t have amounted to anything.   

I get it, people love these characters and want to see them used more, but I’d rather have one strong Yamcha story than a hundred non-starters.  And at this point, I think the only thing anyone can do is rely on fan-created content.    Be the change you want to see in the world.

A wish: Crap, it’s after ten pm.    I dunno, I wish Marzi was canon.  

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: I feel like the character’s already been through worse than I could come up with for him.

(it’d probably be Stevidot anyway; objectively I’ve done more for it than anything else I ever shipped in my life and it’s absolutely precious both in platonic and romantic forms)

BUT IN THE INTEREST OF FAIRNESS… and attempt to tone down redundancy, let’s see what other ships earned the “OTP” label from me!

I mean, I pretty much had to lowkey ship Mamoru Chiba x Ami Mizuno because Usagi/Mamoru is basically what Connverse wishes it could be as far as the Ultimate Ship goes. So at the height of my involvement in the fandom (you know, late 90s era), I was never brave enough to make anything for this ship. But the few times they get to interact in the classic anime is legit adorable stuff and I wish we could’ve had more of it. 

Before Gem Ascension, before Travels of the Trifecta, my greatest multichaptered epic was a Digimon Tamers fic called By My Decision. I was a hardcore Digimon fan in my early teen years well before I ever got into Pokemon, in fact. And I shipped shitloads of pairings in Adventure and 02 - I can only imagine how many of those would be demonized by the new age fandom puritans of Tumblr nowadays. You can actually see literally everything I ever shipped on my FFN profile here.

But I didn’t really make anything for the first two seasons. Tamers was what really sparked my inspiration, because Takato and Jenrya… honestly, they’re just adorable together. They get to bond a lot, they’re really in touch with their feelings (contrasting to token girl Ruki who was a stiff hardass most of the time), and I often got the impression that Jenrya, unlike Takato, really doesn’t have any other friends. 

So of course, I tormented these two on the regular in my story. I of course didn’t forget Juri (for I love her dearly); I was kinda trying a love triangle subversion with Takato angsting over loving both Jenrya and Juri… while Juri’s still got so much PTSD (story is 2 years post-series), shipping is hardly on her mind, and Jenrya’s outright in denial of his feelings for Takato to the point where it very literally screws him up and awakens some inner darkness of his own. I even had Jenrya and Juri bond, but it was pretty platonic stuff. 

Still, this ship was way down on the totem pole at the height of Tamers’ fandom. Very frustrating. Takato/Ruki and Jenrya/Ruki were way more popular and I hated both of those ships something fierce. I love Ruki, but I just cringe at the idea of shipping her with either of her fellow leads. Then Jenrya/Ryo got something of a cult following that I couldn’t stand; admittedly I was jealous it was getting the representation that I felt Takato/Jenrya desperately needed more, and I also didn’t like Jenryo in its own right, anyway. 

But yeah. Jenkato is a very underappreciated ship that I loved dearly and invested many of my teenage years into.

So, here’s a fun fact: While I played the classic games (my cousins had a Sega Genesis), the way I was mostly raised on Sonic was via the first two cartoon series and the Archie Comics version of the franchise. Archieverse was largely based on the SatAM cartoon; Amy Rose also didn’t exist in the show and it took about 25 issues for her to show up in the comic. 

So I was big on Tails x Amy. For a long-ass time. And really, the ship was really only feasible in the Archie continuity. There, Tails is actually older than his usual depicted canon age and Amy is introduced to be around his age before she artificially aged herself with a magic ring so that she could later take on her Sonic Adventure design. 

Before that… in these years, Sally was the most well-known love interest of Sonic in the west. So Sonic/Sally seemed like a lock (none of us knowing how Sega felt about that at the time) - and in retrospect I honestly believe it’s a far better Sonic ship than his more well-known modern alternatives. 

So, because of Sally’s prominence, Amy was relegated to Sonic’s fangirl and her crush wasn’t really that big a deal. Honestly, that was for the best, as I by far found Amy way more tolerable in Archie’s incarnation than the majority of her other canon contemporaries (Sonic the Comic Amy Rose is more of a competent badass, though).

Tails and Amy had some good banter in Archieverse and the few times they were allowed time to do stuff together as a duo, they were very cute and endearing and I loved them. 

Tails also had a lot more going on in terms of character development and backstory in Archieverse. Like, a lot more going on. He even had a “Chosen One” deal that sadly didn’t have a very good payoff, but. It’s more than what they really do with Tails in any other continuity.

Bear in mind, I started on these comics when I was eight or nine years old. Yet I followed this comic well into my late teens and even part of my early twenties, so you can tell Archieverse Sonic has shitloads of lore to it to have that long of an ongoing narrative. 

After Sonic Adventure was released, then the Sonamy shipping started to explode. Amy was front-and-center in the spotlight, Sally became the obscure figure in the fandom, and it’s more-or-less stayed that way ever since. 

But I was like “It’s okay! Tails and Amy are still tight in Archieverse! Sucks they have to adjust to Sega’s many changes but they’re still best buddies who’ll hopefully get married one day….” 

Then 25 Years Later happened and for some goddamned stupid-ass reason, Tails was paired with Mina the Mongoose and I believe Amy was suspiciously never ever mentioned in the future timeline stories (as Sonic and Sally did become endgame in this little series). 

Tails and Mina had little to no interaction, and Mina was largely there to be a potential Sonic love interest, and even after she moved on, she got together with another character and still didn’t interact with Tails. 

I was sooooooo pissed off. Archieverse was my one hope for Tails/Amy becoming a thing and they ruined it for me. :(

I did get a consolation prize in Geoffrey St. John x Hershey becoming so canon they actually did marry. That’s another one I shipped ever since they first interacted years and years ago.

Of course, Hershey was then “killed off” - and was set for a major comeback, but Ken Penders put a stop to that and had them both erased from reality because fuck Ken Penders, I actually got a nice thing and you yanked it right out of my hands.

Genis Sage x Mithos Yggdrasill from Tales of Symphonia, a ship I hardcore loved enough to write about. Also a ship I think Tumblr would burn me at the stake for shipping at all, but you know what? Fuck Genis x Presea. It’s a boring-ass puppy love ship that in its own right should be lambasted similarly according to anti logic. 

…. did I get sidetracked? I did? Pfff. Okay, let’s try and get to another question.

How I started shipping Stevidot?

Pretty simple story, really. I binged SU all the way up to Escapism (Change Your Mind hadn’t aired yet) last December/January. Also watched a looooot of Youtube clips. Most involving Peridot.

And inevitably, most involving Steven as well. 

When I started getting into Peridot and SU as a whole enough to seek out fanfiction and whatnot, I didn’t really have any set shipping preferences at first. But when I made myself think about it… honestly, Stevidot just felt the most natural to me. I wanted to see stories about antics with those two specifically - I never liked Lapidot and Amedot did nothing for me ever. So Stevidot was like, pretty much the only thing I really focused on after a while.

Then I found A Gem Like You. And suddenly, INSPIRATION! I developed headcanons for Watcher’s fic, I started reading as much Stevidot as I could, and I was convinced it was the best pairing in the world and fucking hell I need to give it some representation after I noticed how relatively niche it was in the fandom. 

And so, Stevidot consumed my soul for all time. I hope those clods are happy.

Good god, that really does need to be its own post. I have so much to say about various ships in general, I may need a bit to… uh, figure that out. Or throwing out some random ones I’d know about would help my focus, fff.

Who Wears the Pants *A Daiken Fic*

Daisuke can't seem to keep his pants on. Even in freezing weather.

Ken's school let out early today, and the sixteen-year-old decided to take the train to Odaiba to surprise his boyfriend with an impromptu date. Daisuke loved surprises, and as long as he was the one doing the surprising, Ken did too.

Naturally, Ken arrived early. His private school in Tamachi had released at noon, but with a couple hours until Odaiba released, he walked around a few nearby shops.

The weather had turned cold—particularly cold even in winter—and even going in and out of shops, Ken was shivering by the time he waited outside of Odaiba High for his spiky-haired boyfriend to emerge in a throng of teens wearing iconic sky-blue blazers. Of course, most of those blazers would be hidden away under winter coats, but Ken wasn't so sure Daisuke would adhere to logic.

The bell rang, but Ken didn't move from his perch on the wall near the main exit, cell phone in hand just in case they missed each other.

He had no need to worry, though. Daisuke wasn't easy to miss when he stormed out of the building, pushing his way through a slow-moving group of first years and laughing hysterically, something clutched tight against his abdomen. It was no surprise when Takeru ran after him, his blond hair particularly messy, followed shortly by Hikari, Miyako, and Iori, snickering as they walked together.

Ken slipped off the wall, bundling his coat tighter and trying not to tremble.

And true to form, Daisuke noticed Ken the moment he moved. His face instantly brightened, and he veered in his boyfriend's direction, nearly knocking over a pair of his classmates in the process. He didn't slow down when he reached Ken, didn't hesitate before launching the full force of his body onto him, and Ken was thrown to the ground with his giant puppy of a boyfriend on top of him, kissing him with all his might.

"That's cheating," cried Takeru as he stumbled to a stop beside the pair on the cold, hard ground. "You can't use your boyfriend as your home base."

Daisuke's only response was to pull back enough to chuck the crumpled material between them at Takeru's face before diving back in for another kiss. Said crumpled material, which Daisuke had kept close after stealing it right off his blond friend's head, was Takeru's newest hat.

Hikari, Miyako, and Iori reached the group and paused behind Takeru, who sloppily yanked his hat back over his head, grumbling all the while. But it was only when it became apparent Daisuke didn't need oxygen to breathe that the complaints began.

With a sheepish grin—all pleasant and apologetic but not actually sorry for glomping him—Daisuke helped Ken to his feet. "What're you doing here?"

Ken barely managed to gather himself together. "Surprise?" he offered, cheeks flushed. His body was trembling, but it wasn't from the cold anymore.

No, despite the fact that his boyfriend wasn't wearing anything over his dark-blue sweater-vest over his white dress shirt, sleeves rolled up at the elbows, tie mysteriously gone, Daisuke simply radiated heat with enough force to rival the sun itself. And when he grinned like he did at Ken's one-word response, the warmth increased tenfold.

Blush intensified, Ken turned to the other to pay his respects—it had nothing to do with trying to distract himself from the way his boyfriend's ridiculous grin dug under his skin and seeped into his very bones, not at all.

Takeru, a new denim hat with a wide brim forced too far down on his head, looked just as irritated as when he'd come running out of the building, but he chatted with Hikari, Miyako, and Iori amicably nonetheless. But the moment they realized the very public make-out session was finally over, they turned to greet him as well.

"Hello," Ken said in his quiet voice, and a small smile spread across his face.

"Hey, Ken!" Miyako greeted happily.

"Class out early?" Takeru asked.

He nodded. "Yes, we had a half day for the teachers to—"

Well, nothing beyond that was really important because then Ken's vision was blocked by dark material that landed haphazardly over the top of his head.

"Daisuke!" the group chorused.

Ken shook his head and scowled at the dark-gray cloth that landed at his feet. "Daisuke," he said, voice low, "why in the world are you throwing your pants at me?"

"In public," Miyako added, indignant.

Hikari sighed, exasperated. "Can you really not wait ten minutes to change at home, Daisuke-kun?"

But Daisuke just laughed as he turned to his boyfriend to fix his now messy hair. "Gomen, gomen. I got over-excited."

Ken shot him a glare, but per usual, he remained unfazed, totally unaware of the double entendre.

At least, underneath his uniform pants, Daisuke managed to wear a pair of dark-khaki shorts. No one understood how he could fit them comfortably under the dark-gray slacks, but no one could argue with Daisuke when it came to logic. Mostly because Daisuke defied logic at all costs.

"Sure, over-excited." Takeru snorted. "If this didn't happen every damn day, I'm not sure you should apologize for not being able to keep your pants on around your boyfriend."

Daisuke's face turned a dark scarlet. Finally, he understood. "Shut up, Takeru! At least I have a boyfriend."

The blond raised an eyebrow—he and Hikari had been dating for nearly as long as Ken and Daisuke. "At least I can keep my clothes on in public."

"I'm still wearing clothes, baka!"

"Half your uniform is missing." Takeru crossed his arms over his chest. "You can't go half a day without losing some part of it, but you manage to wear those dumb shorts under your pants."

Daisuke jutted out his bottom lip. "Pants are dumb. I don't see why we have to wear uniforms anyway."

"I bet you couldn't go a whole day without losing even one article of clothing," Takeru challenged.

Flustered, Daisuke spluttered to answer, but everyone knew he couldn't really argue against that. He hadn't managed it yet.

Ken sighed as he leaned down to grab the dark gray pants, buttons undone all along the sides from Daisuke tearing them off. "Really, Dai, we're second years. You've had to wear a uniform for over four years now. How is this still a problem?"

His boyfriend continued to pout.

To be fair, Ken probably should've commended his dedication to the quote-unquote cause. When his attempts to get away with wearing his favored cargo shorts during class were thwarted, Daisuke devoted hours upon hours every week to learning how to sew so he could alter the uniform pants.

His first plan was simply cutting off the bottom half of the pants and reattaching them with buttons, but then he was still stuck wearing slacks. That didn't last long.

After that, he discovered the idea of converting the uniform pants to tear-away pants, but that required him to further develop his sewing skills. Which he did, of course, and without complaint. And that means a lot when it comes to Daisuke. Eventually, he managed it—and then the struggle was finding shorts that fit underneath. Most of his shorts at the time were too bulky and obvious if he managed to fit them under the pants at all.

He had since mastered the whole affair, though. Obviously.

And really, how much could Ken complain about his boyfriend just tearing off his pants in one stroke?

Oh, yeah. Perhaps the fact that he did it in public and rarely even front of him. That was somewhat disheartening. Ken would much prefer it if Daisuke kept his ridiculous stripping habit in private. Preferably in Ken's bedroom.

Miyako snorted. "Don't tease him too much, guys." Not that her voice was any less teasing. "For all we know, he might declare another war on pants."

Iori shook his head, eyes wide. "No. Not again."

Miyako was now all-out laughing. "But it was great! He only got suspended thirteen times for refusing to wear them that first year."

"Fifteen," Ken automatically corrected. The current uniform pants were now folded neatly in his arms. "And why am I always the one having to fold these stupid things?"

Scratching the back of his neck, Daisuke simply grinned, but he accepted the folded pants and slid them into his backpack with grateful eyes.

Takeru raised an eyebrow. "How are you the one always cleaning up his messes? You're usually not out of class yet when he starts throwing clothes around."

Heat rose to Ken's cheeks.

It probably had something to do with the fact that Daisuke met him after school every single day, and they usually wound up doing homework and, ahem, hanging out at his apartment in Tamachi. Of course, Daisuke getting out his schoolwork always meant tossing the no-longer-worn pants out of his backpack, and Ken folded them for him every time. Daisuke always called him anal as he did it, but he also added how incredibly cute he was, and…well, they usually didn't get much homework done after that.

Daisuke slung an arm around Ken's waist and tugged him close. "If all goes well, he'll be cleaning up my messes for years to come."

Ken frowned. "That's…" He sighed. "That's a very nice sentiment."

Not very practical, mind you, but definitely a nice sentiment. Ken definitely preferred to think of their relationship in the long term as well, but he didn't necessarily envision himself being a perfect housewife who did all the housework.

Perhaps he wasn't being very practical either, though. He'd seen Daisuke's room in its natural state far too often.

And yes, folding.

Ken was pretty sure Daisuke didn't even know how to fold laundry.

When he shook his head at the thought, his teeth chattered.

"You okay?" Suddenly, Daisuke was in his face, worry lines creasing his forehead, and he tutted. "You're wearing like ten sweaters and a huge scarf. How are you still cold, Ken-chan?" Then, he turned to the others to give them a wave. "Later!"

They ignored the chorus of goodbyes in favor of Daisuke wrapping his arm around his shivering boyfriend and leading them toward the Motomiya apartment.

Ken sighed, snuggling closer to his boyfriend's heat. "You could at least have the decency to pretend to be a normal human being and wear pants when it's this damn cold like the rest of us," he said, burying his face in his scarf.

But Daisuke laughed. "What're you talking about? It's not that cold. But you know…" His voice took on a particular tone that sent a completely different kind of shiver down Ken's spine. "I could warm you up. It's not like anyone's home right now."

Ken pressed closer. Yes, that sounded like the perfect way to rid his body of this chill.

I finished all my exams so LETS FUCKIGN GO!!! A lot of this is personal interpretation combined w hc character development 👌 I went kinda off topic bc y’all apparently like my analysis!! So here u go!!

1) sexuality hc: I love exploring queer themes w Stan sm ;;o;; I think he’s an incredibly relatable character and fandom tends to focus on his good morals so he’s the kinda character we’re more comfortable exploring like that :0 (unlike Eric who’s Problematic or Kyle who’s pretty morally gray and who has some questionable interactions w the ppl he’s had romantic interactions w)

And I love portraying Stan’s exploration into his sexuality as a very...slow kind of journey? Like Stan being someone who’s pretty ignorant but earnest, and appreciating when someone is able to help guide him (like Kenny or wendy)

But to the question: I hc Stan as bi!! Like a lot of ppl do :0 again w the slow journey, I see Stan as being the kind of person who would get into queer issues, and just being curious in general and asking questions, alongside wanting to explore w other people—like feeling a romantic/sexual tension w/ another boy but not knowing what it means, and only after he’s had someome start to guide him does he connect the pieces. Like Stan realizing “oh all those times I had a CRUSH on that guy I didn’t just admire him” sort of thing

And it’d be a very personal journey as well, I can’t imagine Stan being open or talking abt his sexuality while he’s still tryna figure it out, mostly bc he isn’t sure abt himself and he doesn’t feel secure enough to be open, plus he’s probably shy abt that kinda thing in the beginning.

And honestly I prefer Stan exploring his sexuality with Wendy or Kenny—I have a whole hc that he’d be uncomfortable with talking to kyle about it, not bc he has anything against Kyle—it’s just that Kyle sometimes gets too in his own head, gets uncomfortable with serious conversations, can sometimes leave Stan behind, and can think he knows Stan best/talks over Stan. I can’t see Kyle being someone patient enough to let Stan talk without adding in his own two cents and confusing or frustrating Stan, and Stan needs someone attentive and non-judgmental to talk things through

Wendy (esp w Wendy as a v knowledgeable queer person) is a good choice to help Stan out bc she’s very compassionate, emotionally sensitive, and wants to help.

(Going into hc-zone:) wendy might also fall into the thing Kyle does where she talks over Stan, in that she knows *so much* she thinks she can guess what Stan feels and kind of flood him with too much information unintentionally. It’s not a bad thing to try and inform him about gender stuff and bi/pan/ply/omnisexualities but Stan isn’t ready for all that yet. And I think Stan is also the kind of person who wouldn’t be super comforted by labels and facts the way Wendy is. Where Wendy likes having specific definitions to explain how she feels, Stan is overwhelmed by those labels bc he’ll overthink them and doubt himself

...which is why I prefer Stan exploring this stuff with Kenny, bc I have a really elaborate kind of relationship development between those two that could blossom if they let themselves grow closer, esp during times where Eric and Kyle are off doing Their Thing. Kenny being someone who’s incredibly sure of who he is, being a great listener, very emotionally sensitive, able to keep a secret, and able to read people well and handle situations between people. Ken is the type who can listen to Stan w/o judging him or making him feel overwhelmed, and knows when to ask questions and when to back off, etc. I have a whole thing abt how their developing relationship can be incredibly mutually beneficial but Yanno that’s for the next bulletpoint 👌 basically Kenny could be someone Stan can explore himself with, and not be pressured

And then there’s Stan’s gender identity which I also Love. I love nb Stan. Just in the kind of nb where he doesn’t want to give himself a specific label, he just wants to Be Himself, whatever that means. I hc Stan as primarily male-aligned nb, in that he’s most comfortable with being a guy or being perceived as a guy and generally presenting masc, but a lot of that is in Stan being more *socially* comfortable presenting that way, instead of him feeling more “like a guy.” I hc Stan to primarily use he/him pronouns but to also be ok w/ she/they depending on the situation. I think Wendy and Kenny would also help him w this, in hc’ing both of them as nb as well (though of course their identities manifest in different ways and they’re comfortable doing different things than Stan)

(Also I love Stan using goth stuff to explore his gender and presentation....using a more feminine name like Raven?? Being able to use nor androgynous ways of dressing?? I lov him sm ;;o;;)

(Plus I have a big hc I love where Stan tries to come out to his parents and he’s bracing for impact for the response and BOTH TIMES his dad STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT bc it’s like “ugh, what is it with kids these days coming up with FAKE TERMS for stuff that’s JUST NORMAL. It’s NORMAL to think about wanting to kiss other guys Stan duh” and Sharon and Stan just. “No....dad....straight men don’t want to kiss other men wtf” and later it’s “ok Stan I believe you about the bisexuality thing but this nonbinary thing?? Again it’s NORMAL!! To feel like a bit of both and want to be seen as a woman sometimes” and Stan’s just pinching his nose again.

He was afraid of becoming his father but. Not like this. Nb bi KINGS)

2) Otp: STENNY!!!!! I love stenny sm. (But I’ll get into that in a bit but first)

S/tendy is also really really cute, but imo it’s the pinnacle of school love. I feel like Stan and Wendy can be good together and genuinely like each other’s company, but I feel like their life goals and ambitions would stray, and they wouldn’t be completely compatible in a way that would be really sustainable as adults. It’s not a bad thing, and I think they could absolutely remain close friends w/o necessarily needing a romantic relationship

Anyways. I adore Stenny. A lot of it again revolves around some development hc stuff I have, mostly in how compatible and mutually beneficial the relationship can be. I like imagining them growing closer and more intimate w each other in a very private kind of way. Like them hanging out one on one, and eventually that evolves into texting, calling, sleeping over w just the two of them, etc, until they have this entire close relationship that’s all their own

And with compatibility, I think both Kenny and Stan are incredibly compassionate, sensitive, thoughtful people who can just sit and enjoy some silence. Unlike Eric and Kyle, who need constant mental stimulation—who need to be DOING things—Stan and Kenny can just...relax. And I think their sensitivity can also lead them to be able to support each other emotionally. Both of them can listen to each other, both of them are capable of having serious conversations and being patient through those conversations, both of them are perceptive and sensitive enough to recognize what the other is feeling and to have some idea of what to do about it. I think they’re both good at knowing how to take care of people (rather than someone like Kyle, who likes taking care of others but doesn’t really know how to do it very well; he’s like his mother in that way, he’s good at obvious stuff like injuries and crying but he can be kinda overbearing, presumptuous, and indelicate abt the quieter stuff but ENOUGH abt Kyle AHJSKDKF)

I think stenny is strong also in how the two can help one another. Kenny is realistic but careful and can provide support for Stan when he’s going through a rough patch. Kenny shows up to Stan’s room in the middle of the night with water and snacks and listens to Stan rant or just *is there* to show Stan he’s not alone. Kenny answers Stan’s 2am texts when Stan can’t sleep and stays on the phone with him all night to keep him company

And Stan is earnest in how much he cares abt his friends and would just...really easily show he cares w/o any judgement. Stan saves seats for Kenny, sends him “be safe!” texts when Ken goes home, offers his bed and his home to Kenny and Karen when they need a place to stay, and it never has an air of pity or self-righteousness about it—it’s just Stan genuinely being nice. And that kind of attention and care is a breath of fresh air for Ken, whos usually forgotten

And both of them are just. They’re a shoulder to cry on, or a pillar to lean against. And that’s smth they need—Stan to feel listened to, Kenny bc he takes on so much stress. They can be a rock for each other.

3) brotp: I love Stan making friends honestly ;;o;;

like I said in my kyle analysis I love the super best friends a lot ;;o;; they really care abt each other and don’t want to lose each other which is really nice. I just...love them being best friends + brotherly towards each other

But I also like Stan making friends outside of the m4—with the girls or the goth kids or even with someone like Tweek. (Though I cant really see him hanging out w “Craig’s gang” mostly bc there’s this air of exclusivity w the “groups,” like an established dynamic that no one really likes to cross, bc they’ve all jus Known each other for so long and have solidified those groups + dynamics—though I can see him also befriending the individual members of Craig’s gang, esp token or jimmy)

His friendship w the goth kids means a lot to me HONESTLY I love the idea of them remaining friends bc they vibe together well—esp when they get a better hang of mental health stuff, and they can talk abt gender and coping mechanisms and cool movies they’ve watched ;;o;; i think being with the goth kids could be a really important part of Stan forming his personal identity and while I don’t think they’d be *best friends* I can still see them as ppl he’d invite to his parties or to the movies and stuff

4) notp: s...st/yle, bc like I said in my kyle analysis I just. Can’t see it. I think kyle hurts Stan too much and that they need to work on their friendship, and that they’re much more compatible as friends than as anything else. I much much prefer a brotherly relationship where they’d feel weird even thinking about kissing each other lol

My other notps for Stan are less about me not liking the ship and more abt me like. Not wanting the characters w anyone else but who I already ship them with. I don’t like Stan with Craig or Tweek bc I can’t see those two w anyone but each other, for example. (Plus I have a lotta hc’s abt craig and his feelings for Tweek ;;o;; craig is a one man kinda guy lmao)

Though I do think Stan is extremely compatible with lots of characters. Idk why ppl ship Kyle w everyone when I don’t think kyle is v compatible with ppl—Stan is def someone who could date like. Just abt anyone. I don’t like Stan ships that aren’t stenny or st/endy but I can at least understand them. Stan is just really nice and approachable and can get along w a lotta people

5) First hc I think of: oh I love the hc that Stan sometimes writes his own music, but he’s kinda shy abt his voice so he doesn’t sing very often.

Or hc that he has a bit of a “dad bod” when he gets older. And the chubbier he is, the happier and more relaxed he is ;;o;; (Bc if Stan is too aware of his body and trying to work out to get the “perfect” figure, he’ll stress over it)

Or Stan growing up to breed service dogs ;;o;; (thank u magnus burnsides for this PERFECT idea)

6) how I relate to this character: I’ve kinda incorporated my own gender stuff into my interpretation of Stan (though I relate more to my gender-interpretation of Kenny)

But I think.....hm. It’s kinda hard to pick out a way I relate to Stan bc I’m so invested in seeing him grow and develop it doesn’t feel like it relates to me. Probably tho I relate to his weird balance of loyalty vs exasperation. Stan loves his friends and family and will do a lot for them. But my god. Sometimes they’re all so stupid. Randy being randy is obvious but remember when Kyle had a breakdown over the fucking Facebook farm game?? Stan is so tired

7) what gives me secondhand embarrassment abt Stan: uhhhh hm. Well, sometimes he’s kinda ignorant and goes along w what everyone else is doing, but honestly I don’t really cringe over Stan. He’s learning and trying and I can’t really fault him for that so much

8) cinnamon roll or problematic fave: cinnamon roll ;;o;; Stan is someone who’s usually pretty genuine and I love his role as the “straight man” in a lot of the stories. He’s been through a lot but I want him to just...be happy ;;o;; I love portrayals of Stan where he can be happy?? Like yeah he can be a cynic but he’s also really compassionate and I jus ;;o;;

1.04 Preggers

Rating: 5/5. This brings in so many of my favorite components of the show: Kurt’s honesty of who he is, Burt, Quinn/Puck, the pregnancy storyline, the characters moving from broad strokes to detailed portraits, Burt, expansion of the ensemble cast, the Single Ladies dance, and Burt.

Best Song: Single Ladies. Both Kurt’s dance in the beginning (because I love Kurt) and the football players’ dance at the end (because goddamn if I don’t love it when a group of people come together. Also it’s fun and cute)

Memorable Quote: “Dad? I have something that I want to say. I’m glad that you’re proud of me but I don’t want to lie anymore. Being a part of the Glee club and football has really showed me that I can be anything. And what I am is, I’m gay.” -Kurt

General Notes:

YESSSSS! The single ladies dance! I loved Kurt’s dancing so much and I love that Brittany and Tina were dancing with him. That’s not a combo you see a lot, so it’s really sweet that they seemed to genuinely just want to hang out and dance together.

BURT. I remember thinking he was going to be just another jackass, homophobic dad. But they went a really wonderful direction with it instead. For as much shit as Glee gets (and it deserves a lot of it), I can’t completely write it off because we got so many really wonderful, supportive scenes with Kurt and Burt.

Sue’s Corner. Fuck, I forgot about this too and it’s fucking great. I wish I had been in the writer’s room when they were pitching her segments, I want to know what didn’t make the cut lol

“The more times she storms out of rehearsal the less impact it has.” FUCKING PREACH, ARTIE.

Ya know, Finn was actually really accepting of Kurt thinking he was going to ask him to prom. Not the greatest strides we could hope for, but okay.

I love that Kurt is so authentically himself that he went forward to his football tryouts with his music. I wish I had that sort of deep acceptance of myself.

Finn telling Kurt that red is his color is actually super adorable. I remember thinking it was so random how they became close in later seasons the first time I watched this, but rewatching it I can see that this was built up from the beginning.

Oh man, the introduction of the Quinn-pregnancy plot! I absolutely love this episode.

Can Sandy just be written off the show by now? Please?

Part of me hates the front angle camera shots but I also really love seeing Quinn directly on. So, I guess I can accept it. Her face is just so goddamn symmetrical.

Quinn crying that she really thought she was going to get out of this town… I don’t think I caught how much this affected the characters the first time around.

Puck finding out fucking kills me and I love that I get to go through the angst of an unresolved OTP all over again.

So, I still think the whole “Terri getting Quinn’s baby” plot line is crazy. I mean, it makes for an entertaining story, so I like that it was written. I mean that it’s crazy because how often do real people behave this way? But, it seems a little less crazy now that I’m older. It just seems like a move from an incredibly desperate woman. But also, she’s doing so much to keep Schue around. Why? He’s not great. She can do better. So can he, for that matter. Call it a day, kids.

Kurt seeing Burt in the stands also kills me because he just loves his dad so much!

“I had sex with your mother. No seriously, I cleaned your pool and then I had sex with her in your bed. Nice Star Wars sheets.” I fucking love Puck.

Kurt coming out. There’s not much I can say that hasn’t already been said, and I’m not a gay man so it doesn’t really matter much anyway. But it’s beautiful and I loved it. I’ll leave it at that.

There are so many really good details in this episode: Ken picking out a whistle, the Moonlight Sonata background music when Puck confronts Quinn, seeing Mike in the background of the dance lesson really getting into it. This is the turning point for me when the season has settled from a concept to an actual show.

Also, I like that more characters are bring brought in and fleshed out so it’s not just Rachel, Finn, and Will all the time. That definitely helps.

Favorite character: Shinji, no question. He fits my character type so well, there’s absolutely no question who my favorite would be.

Least Favorite character: I mean, the answer over all would probably be Takaya, but if we’re going off just S.E.E.S., it’s Ken, though he’s growing on me...a bit.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): AkiShinji,YukaMitsu, AigisHam, AkiShinjiHam, AkiShinjiMitsu

Character I find most attractive: Hmm... I mean, Persona games are kinda bi thirst traps? But also I guess I’ll go by aesthetically pleasing. Mitsuru?

Character I would marry: ...you know, the rest of them are pretty dumb teens, and I’m not much for marrying anyways? But Ms. Toriumi would be a riot, I think. There’s an unpopular opinion, probably.

Character I would be best friends with: I think I’d love to be best friends with Yukari? We’d probably get along sometimes because clothes are great then butt heads other times.

A random thought: Look, there are so many S.E.E.S brotps that don’t happen because of the senpai-kouhai dynamic, and I want them to stop. Because Yukari would get along so well with her senpai, dammit.

An unpopular opinion: Yukari is perfect, and her flaws make her human, so stop thinking less of her for it. She grows, and it’s wonderful.

My canon OTP: ...okay, in my playthrough, MinatoYuko, because Yuko is best girl that’s not in S.E.E.S. Fight me.

Non-canon OTP: AkiShinji, always, but pffft, it’s canon, shut up, Atlus.

Most badass character: That’s so hard! Like Shinji’s super badass because just gonna headbutt idiots, but then have you seen the ladies of S.E.E.S.? Mitsuru, like damn. And their kouhai are no slouches either! Not to mention Aigis! <3

Pairing I am not a fan of: ...AkiMitsu? But that’s only on their own because on their own, I don’t think they have the balance they need to keep up a romantic relationship.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): P3 has a good balance for the characters, tbh. If this had been just characters the canon has screwed over, I’d say Minako-Hamuko-Kotone, since she doesn’t appear in P3D, and she doesn’t get HER team in PQ2. She needs more love outside of P3P. (However, pretty much all of the social link girls in FES. Rank 10 for all of them is nonsense and pandering to dudes in a really icky way.)

Favorite friendship: AkiShinji, most definitely. They have such an interesting dynamic, and I love it so much.
