He doesn’t mind sneezing in public in general – like, the odd sneeze here or there. They’re not nearly as loud or attention-grabbing as Steve's. However, the issue is that he has fucking awful allergies. Not just seasonal ones like his hayfever and mould in the autumn, but to a ton of chemical scents like perfumes and hairsprays, then also dust, and feathers…He’s just got an extremely sensitive nose. Combine that with the fact that he is prone to multiples and often has drawn-out fits if he can’t escape the source of irritation, it is less than ideal. If he’s having a rough time, and hasn’t been able to take any medication, then the sneezing will draw a lot of attention that he just cannot be bothered dealing with.

Another issue is that he gets off to his own sneezing – especially if he keeps going. So he has to deal with the humiliation of people watching and maybe cruelly judging him and the risk of popping a boner.

So, to summarise: a couple of sneezes here and there are no problem at all. He won’t think too much about it. He’ll probably even enjoy it and the odd blessing he gets from friends. But sneezing in public when his allergies are going haywire? Super embarrassing, incredibly unfortunate. Finding out about Steve’s mutual interest is a game changer for him – he becomes stupidly exhibitionistic around Steve but also gains a little more confidence in general.

He hates sneezing in public. He’s good at hiding that he hates it, but still – it is not fun. Because others sneezing is so intensely sexual for him, he feels uncomfortable doing the same around other people. Steve’s sneezes are also very loud, and he is terrible at holding back and stifling. Given that his sneezes are big in general, they can get messy fast. Huge, spraying affairs that make everyone around him jump several feet in the air. It’s just no fun for him at all, though he has enjoyed the flirtatious blessings he often gets from the girls he courts (or rather, courted before Eddie).

Steve is more prone to colds than Eddie. I don’t see him having any significant allergies except for to the odd scent – but when he does have an allergic reaction, his sneezes are just as colossal. I haven’t explored it a massive amount but I’ve really been thinking recently about him being a photic sneezer – not horribly sensitive, but bright sunlight will make him sneeze a couple of times a day unless he takes the precaution of wearing sunglasses.

After getting to know about Eddie's mutual fetish and starting their relationship together, Steve is still pretty embarrassed about sneezing in public. He learns to love indulging his boyfriend, and the fact that Eddie gets off to how big and loud and messy his sneezes are makes him feel marginally less disgusting. Even still, I don’t think it’s something he would ever really get used to.

When at home, he will still sneeze into things – if not his bandana/handkerchiefs or tissues, then shirts and blankets. He enjoys the way the fabric feels on his poor nose. He tends to wriggle his nose around a lot, and really gets indulgent with rubbing it. He tries to do this less in public to avoid having a visibly pink nose.

He sneezes openly a fair amount as well – sometimes the tickle, especially from allergies, is too much for him so he’ll just let it go and wipe whatever he may have baptised after he’s done lol. I think because he’s such a sneezy individual, if his mind is otherwise occupied (working on music or a D&D campaign, for example) he would sneeze whilst barely acknowledging it, perhaps leaning towards his shoulder briefly.

If Steve is around, he will happily sneeze uncovered, covered, all over Steve etc – whatever will get him the most worked up. He loves when Steve holds handkerchiefs for him to sneeze into and melts if he starts massaging his nose for him.

He tries to cover. God help him, he tries. But he is often so paralysed by the build-up and so slow in his movements it’s all he can do to turn away from anyone in the potential splash zone when the sneeze hits.

If he manages it, he’ll sneeze into his elbow or a tissue, but more often than not he’s either making a total mess of his hands or the hastily raised collar of his shirt.

He also likes when Eddie covers his sneezes for him, but only in private, and it takes a lot of getting used to since his sneezes tend to render whatever is being used to cover them useless pretty quickly. The first time he sneezes a tissue in Eddie’s hand to pulp is mortifying, even though Eddie is pretty much dying of arousal.

He will excuse himself and sometimes bless himself, but it isn't an automatic habit to do so. He’s obviously got a loud and audacious reputation, so on occasion I can see him not particularly giving a fuck about being overly polite and excusing himself in front of a random stranger, and definitely not in front of people he dislikes. He will gentleman the fuck up in heartbeat around most women and girls, though. He can be a lot more chivalrous than people realise.

More so than excusing himself, he will outright apologise. Depending on the situation, though, in order to avoid more attention, he just won’t mention it at all. Fake it 'til you make it, right? He's totally not embarrassed, not at all, nope.

Are they able to stifle or control their sneezes?

He is a habitual stifler and he is exceptionally good at it. Only when his allergies or a cold are really kicking his ass, or he’s completely alone and the tickle is strong will he fully let go. (To be fair, his allergies are often kicking his ass, so.) I think he tends towards natural half-stifled sneezes – or when the sneezes are let out, they’re certainly not screamed. When they are loud and open, you know his nose has been thoroughly tickled.

He can hold back sneezes pretty well, at least if he’s able to sneak off somewhere to relieve the pressure every now and then. A lifetime of year round allergies has trained him well.

Steve’s 'stifles' are louder than most people’s sneezes anyway, and they tend to hurt, so he doesn’t really bother. He *wishes* he could stifle properly, but it is simply not in the cards for him.

He’s also terrible at holding back. If he needs to sneeze, his body is making him sneeze, doesn’t matter what he’s doing. He finds it exasperating, and the only thing that makes him feel better about it is how much Eddie is aroused by his total lack of control.

His natural/random sneezes are incredibly soft and airy. They tend to come in multiples like all his other sneezes, but not as many – maybe triples? When he has allergies, his sneezes are much more vocally desperate and tend to be quite wet – ultimately, he can makes quite a mess also. It’s just unavoidable, becoming that drippy with such a persistent tickle in his poor nose. His cold sneezes are pretty violent, but not too different from his allergy sneezes other than they tend to get messier much faster.

All of his sneezes are big, but his cold sneezes are messy from the get go. He goes through an absurd amount of tissues and handkerchiefs. They also tend to sound a lot gruffer and more nasal, simply because he gets so, so stuffy. He gets so blocked up on occasion that his sinuses audibly squeak in addition to the already loud, messy sneeze, so that fucking sucks for him!

Are they courteous sick people or clueless patient zeros lol?

He is as courteous as can be. He’ll try and wash his hands as often as possible, he’ll cover his sneezes, he’ll (for the most part) try to keep himself away from other people. He really hates the idea of being perceived as gross; most of his boisterous persona is a kind of shield to control the way other people feel about him. If he’s being loud and performative, he’s the one in control of making people feel that he’s crazy. If he’s got a cold and can’t stop sneezing and sniffling and coughing, he is very much not in control. He’ll happily ditch school or work, if possible, to avoid becoming a spectacle in this very not-in-his-control way, and will do the same with particularly bad allergy days.

He will also, for the record, ride out the rest of his illness by jerking himself off in the comfort of his own home. If the sneezes keep on coming, so does he <3

This poor guy tries his best, but if Steve has a cold, and it’s tickling his nose, he is best avoided until well. He will absolutely be a patient zero, even if he doesn’t mean to be. It can take him a good few sneezes before he even clocks onto the fact that he's getting sick. So many factors are against him – he’s terrible at covering, his sneezes are huge, his sneezes spray a lot and make a great deal of mess…nobody is safe. Remember that he also tends to catch his sneezes in his hands, which he can't always immediately wash, especially in the middle of a work shift. He’s a walking, extremely apologetic germ factory who ought to stay in bed.

Other headcanons:

Eddie keeps pepper in his room canonically; he totally snorts this for a little rush, and thoroughly enjoys the sneezes. If he's bored in his room he'll induce for fun, which often leads to masturbation

Eddie is a dramatic exhibitionist, and has a lot of fantasies involving humiliation and being degraded for his frequent sneezes. He would eventually explore these with Steve

okay at long last (i wanted to do this at least a little sooner but by the end of last night i was so sleep deprived my brain was not functional): jeffrey in boston on the 23rd!!! so. hmmmm what to say about this lmao (the first two paragraphs are probably least important here if u don't want to read All Of That)

all of this was like.....................a dream. like i know talking about this makes me sound like Insane Person Whose Life Revolves Around Concertgoing (although that's kind of just the truth tbh) but being THIS close was like...THE dream to me. or at least the most realistically attainable dream we got there a liiiittle after the opening band had started (they are pretty great btw? i approve. like i'm genuinely excited to see them lol) and i'm not sure what the problem was tbh!! we arrived at a perfectly reasonable time but then everyone got corralled into a giant line that like, looped around itself and wrapped around the block. so that took like ~25 minutes to get through. anywayyy i got one of the ???people who work there (there's a word for this that is escaping me atm) to help me find my seat bc things were of course a bit chaotic by that point and well...........that was a positively magical little jaunt as we got closer and closer and i just kind of lost my mind. my seat was in the third row riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight in the middle. like, perfectly in the middle. it could hardly have been any better :'))))

so! i sat there by myself which felt a little strange bc although i do like doing things on my own i have just never done this before. the only other concert i have been to where i sat basically by myself was like, a thing i got to go to bc someone gave me their extra ticket (air supply! which was fun but like, i only went bc it just came up. no disrespect to air supply lmao) and even then the person next to me was like, super nice and also clearly entertained by my dedication to older music (always exquisite to encounter someone who genuinely wants to hear about ur interests. like once you manage to convince me you're asking out of genuine interest the floodgates are OPEN) but anyway!!! the strangers in the elo mosh pit did not talk to me. this was fine but i was a tiny bit surprised bc everyone has been pretty chatty at the other ones i have been to...as an aside i was repeatedly given the impression that the people directly behind me were kind of mean (consistently not shutting up during the opening act, loudly making rude comments about them, just kind of......whining a lot lmao) so i'm 100000% good with not talking to them lol

ANYWAY...onto the important part. sitting through the little intermission was excruciating and kind of went by too quickly bc i kind of did not want the concert to start bc the sooner it started the sooner it was over </3 but it was fun to be sooo close bc i enjoyed watching the crew set everything up and adjusting things and putting jeffrey's little table directly in front of me and whatnot 🥺 but then it started and it was like..............surreal. it quickly became clear that i really had chosen like the absolute perfect seat bc a) the two people in front of me were really short. thank god (the jackasses behind me were also at least a little taller than me so i'm happy for them and was not sorry for standing in front of them in my huge shoes) b) jeffrey directly in front of me. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) again this was like. SURREAL to me in a way bc it's just!!! the best yet and also 💕🥹💕🥹💕🥹 of course. i have been at least slightly pleasantly surprised by my seats at each one i've been to on this tour but even here i experienced that bc i did think i would be off to the side at least a tiiiiny bit...but no it was actually perfect. exquisite. like, i'm really truly not one of those overly-idolizing/Lose Your Mind Over Proximity To Famous Person types but well. i mean if you have read this far i'm sure you are already well aware of how i feel about him lmao

moving forward......bringing this up makes me feel weird bc it sounds so......well. you know. but ummmmm eye contact was definitely established repeatedly 🥺👉👈 looking at me and smiling adorably...........like, this is no exceptional credit to me or anything bc like...what else is he supposed to look at. i was very directly in his field of vision and significantly taller than the two people in front of me lol so he would have had to go to great lengths not to look at me at all. but ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my god???????? it was also kind of hilarious bc it did very muchly keep triggering my insane reflex to look AWAY from people when they make eye contact with me so i had to keep consciously correcting that bc like ????? HELLO lmao. but it was just!!!!!!!! very sweet!!!!!!!!! he was very smiley and adorable. typical...........i could opine on this further but i shan't at the risk of sounding insane. but like this alone was worth it to me sdjkhsjkhsd. felt Nice!!!!!!!!

anyway hmmm what else. well it was just spectacular but u already knew that. his voice has sounded remarkably perfect at each of these shows and that really stands out to me bc i just love that :') i also just love that he's repeatedly absolutely killing it, most importantly just because like, of course!! yay!! but also bc for awhile there was like, a cluster of very weird naysayers within the general community (which involved some kind of disgusting behavior imo but i won't go into detail about that bc like, why rehash it when it's both negative and profoundly ridiculous) and every single concert is just a really beautiful little I Told You So to those people which is SO satisfying to me bc i love to see that sort of thing getting thoroughly shut down and also slightly in part bc i love when i'm right and rude people who i don't like are wrong but that's as snarky as i will allow myself to be in an otherwise very happy post. <3 but i like. idk i just knew. and everyone else who isnt absolutely bonkers did too but well. etc etc etc

as a final note!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! idk i loved it. and i'm so glad that i get to go to the phoenix one as well bc although i'm already getting a little emo about this (........i was already a slight mess after the one in indianapolis tbh) i do think that's like, the only thing that's keeping me from losing it entirely lmao. i feel super lucky to have done all of this and i am having a very very very very very good time

“We’re back!” You and Harry both chorused, rushing through the front doors with your hands full of suitcases and shopping bags. Anne and Tilly were already sat on the stairs awaiting your arrival, as Lottie appeared in the hallway, a glass of squash in her hand. Tilly ran up to Harry straight away, as he peppered her cheeks with kisses. Tilly was always excited whenever he came back from trips abroad- but often timed things to the minute, meaning that if he arrived at home even 5 minutes later than he had told her, she would begin to panic, and scold him for it as soon as she heard his footsteps on the doormat.

“Lottie baby, get over here!” Harry smiled, beckoning her to come closer. “Daddy’s got presents for you!” Tilly, who apparently couldn’t wait, immediately tipped one of the suitcases over and began attempting to unzip it, before Harry looked at you wide eyed remembering what the contents of the bright pink case actually were.

“Whoa, not that one,” You laughed, trying to snatch it out of her grasp before her innocence was ruined by seeing what was actually inside. “This brown one, over here,”

“What brown one?” Tilly moaned, as Harry began to blush. “There’s about 5 brown cases here,”

“He’s never packed light, your Dad,” Anne began to laugh, swatting his back slightly with her hand. “Come here, you bugger,”

“Thanks for looking after them, Mum,” Harry smiled, as he put his arm round her. “I hope they weren’t too much trouble,”

“Not at all, you know I love spending time with the girls,”

Harry began to bend down to the floor as Tilly struggled to unzip the case. Admittedly, you had struggled to get the contents inside in the first place. Harry always promised not to go overboard every-time he bought the girls things back from his travels, but always ended up going overboard anyway. And the girls were becoming that age where the things they were interested in were getting more and more expensive by the week, although he didn’t seem to care.

“Lottie love, this one is yours,” He tried to capture her attention by swinging a huge pink shopping bag at her, as she absentmindedly stared at something that had caught her attention in the window. “Lottie!”

She immediately rushed over and began examining the contents of the bag, eyebrows furrowed slightly in concentration as she struggled to waft through the layers of tissue paper in each box. Inside the first one- a huge 18 inch American Girl doll- the one she had been begging for for months- and in the other tiny pink boxes, a few different frilly outfits to match. And then another matching life-size outfit for Lottie to wear.

She smiled deviously.

“Daddy got them all the way from America for you, because we can’t get them here,”

“I thought they ran out of her,” She smiled. “They make different ones every year,”

“Lucky Daddy knows people in New York, hey?” Harry ruffled her brown curly hair.

“Thank you Daddy, I love you,”

“I love you too, sweet girl,” He smiled, puckering up his lips and peppering a kiss to her cheek.

During all the commotion, Tilly too had been opening up her bags of presents. A few sephora bags worth a good few hundred, maybe even a thousand dollars worth of makeup- he hadn’t been paying attention when the cashier had read out the number displayed on the card reader, instead simply just throwing anything pink he found into the basket. You and Harry turned towards her, and surveyed that her lips were now formed into a pout. She groaned slightly, giving her little sister that mean glare she always did when she meant business.

“What’s the matter, Tilly bug?”

She coughed slightly, still staring at Lottie, who was bewildered by her sister’s angry looking expression.

“Nothing, Daddy, I love it,” She said sarcastically.

“Don’t tell me I bought the wrong thing,” Harry laughed, kissing her forehead as she tried to shuffle away slightly, but he pulled her in closer. “Did I?”

She bit her lip for a minute, the frown lines growing on her forehead, which had recently begun to become dotted with a few angry red teenage spots. Tilly was insistent that she was now nearly a teenager, not a child- she had been going through this phase for a couple of years now- yet she still behaved like a child in many different ways. Because although you and Harry always forgot, she was actually only still twelve, and had barely moved into the senior years at her school.

She glared at Harry closely, before crossing her arms.

“I wanted one of those dolls,” She scorned, looking you up and down angrily.

“Don’t be ungrateful, Til,” You moaned. “You said that you were too grown up for them last year,”

“M’not being ungrateful!” She pouted her lips again. “I do like them. But everyone at school said they were for babies, that’s why I said it,” She picked up the doll from Lottie’s box and held it in her arms softly, cradling it as though it was a real person. “I didn’t want to get rid of all of them, I really liked playing with them,” She said, beginning to tear up a bit.

“Oh, baby love, come here,” Harry crooned, holding her shaking frame in his arms as she burst into tears. “You can still be grown up and like dolls, and you can like makeup too, you can like anything you want, and Daddy will try his best to get it for you,”

Tilly was beginning to get to that age where although she was excited about transitioning from a girl into a young woman, she was also secretly terrified about it, although she barely ever admitted that to you and Harry. The period talk had been enough to send her into an anxious frenzy, with her now stashing supplies in her bags and across her bathroom at all times in-case that moment suddenly came. She was still little for a twelve-year-old- she was shorter than you, and her frame was tiny- at times you thought it was too small, but you tried not to say or do anything too much, but she had wanted to look grown so badly. Because all the other girls at school looked so grown up compared to her.

She sobbed softly, but slowed herself down as she breathed in the scent of Harry’s aftershave. They probably sat there for a good ten minutes, as you left them some space and went into the kitchen to stick the kettle on for everyone. You and Harry had only been in the US for a week- but that was a week too long, for Tilly.

“I missed you, Daddy,” she whispered, her tears beginning to slow, mascara forming black circles around her green eyes. “I missed you so much,”

“I missed you too, lovey,” He smiled, as she rested her head under his chin. “Look, you don’t need to act all grown up all the time, okay? Not if you don’t want to. Daddy loves you either way. But don’t grow up too quickly, promise me,”

She held out her pinky finger, as he held out his simultaneously.

“Pinky promise, Daddy,”

“That’s my best girl,” Harry smiled, running circles across her cheek with the back of his fingers. “I love you,”

I personally love everything that comes from your beautiful mind (or at least everything you choose to share with us) so I wouldn't be too worried about the second part if I were you, even though I'm sure it is very nerve wracking to put out into the world something you've worked hard on.

Also please don't hesitate to say that you're doing okay 🥺 Life is full of good and bad moments both and the bad ones will inevitably come too, regardless of whether we acknowledge the good ones. So in my view, we should enjoy the good or okay times as much as we can while they're happening. Although I completely understand the hesitance when the bad times have been happening particularly often 😔

I've also been doing okay, haven't felt like doing much in particular. I've stayed at home quite a bit because I had the house to myself which is a rarity for me and I really enjoy my uninterrupted alone time (like the typical virgo that I am 🙄🙄🙄). I have a smol break coming up at the end of this upcoming week in which I have to get a few things done for uni! And then perhaps a little trip abroad at the end of the month? (literally just for two days, but still exciting!)

Oh and also I watched Your Name the other day as per your recommendation a bit ago and it was great! Very cute but also pretty emotional, I've gotta say! I kept thinking of both you and Jungkook while watching it because I know he likes it too 🥺🥺🥺 I used to watch so many more movies, maybe I should start again, been feeling like watching ones heavy on romance but not like romcoms, you know? I'm still not over everything that happened yesterday. I've been trying to study for yet another exam that I have tomorrow and all that my head is full of is mr. Jeon Jungkook. My thoughts just keep drifting away and I can't focus lmao.

Also I have the talent of always falling asleep right before you answer my asks, so don't think that I've been withholding information about my "crush" from you on purpose. I'm very hesitant to even call it a crush because I barely know him, but I guess we'll go with that. Here's the barely there gossip about that lmao.

So this guy is someone from my course who I noticed in the first week of classes, because he's like one of the prettiest men I've seen irl. He has long hair and he wears nice soft sweaters and rings and he's just very pretty. (kind of looks like Ethan from the band Maneskin but with softer features 👀👀👀)

And I got to talk to him for the first time when I spent those 8 hours waiting to take the exam because a mutual friend was there too. The three of us also went out to celebrate after too. He's pretty cool and he laughed at my jokes, so it was a fun time. But I don't even know if he's single or if he likes women and now I might have a crush on him 🙃. I haven't had a crush on anyone for years lmaooo.
