If I could have one wish it would be to have Nico and Seb as a commentator duo for my German coverage.
Seb slipping into his casual accent, being the biggest support for Lewis meanwhile Nico is trying so hard to be casual. Seb making fun of Nico and Lewis while we all (Nico mostly) have to suffer.
I actually get commentators that know what they are talking about with funny anecdotes while still being as "normal" (courtesy of Nico) about this whole thing.

*Updated* The Boozy truths edition! (Narumitsu fic recs)
❤️🍻💙
Behold my list of 14 (11 plus 3 I've shared before) Ace Attorney fic recs featuring Phoenix and Miles and maybe (probably) more than a recommended amount of alcohol. The following fics feature alcohol being used to lower inhibitions, reveal hidden truths, and occasionally facilitate chaos. As usual, these are in no particular order, because fanfics are gifts to be enjoyed and celebrated, not ranked.
Remember kids: drink responsibly, have fun, and switch to water or grape juice to stay hydrated. Cheers!
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
1) Last Night in Phoenix by theother51
Rating: E Words: 9, 719 to read: 40 min
This one features the gang going out for celebratory drinks after 'Turnabout Goodbyes.' Featuring Waitress Triss, several rounds of Dusty Derbies, and one of the best, most loved, confession and hook-up scenes between Miles and Phoenix. <3 <3
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
2) Make your bed by SapphireWine
Rating: T Words: 1,801 to read: 8 min
One of those fics I find myself returning to again and again. It just makes me smile and my only complaint is that it is too short. I love this Miles and this Phoenix. A very loveable drunk Miles and our favourite responsible caretaker Phoenix. Featuring a bonus Pess with delicate kidneys!
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
3) pas de deux by Anonymous
Rating: T Words: 2,251 to read: 10 min
Short and poignant one-shot where Miles drunkenly processes his ‘note’ and how to move forward.
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
4) Critique by MyLittleEdgey for prospectkiss
Rating: M Words: 9, 937 to read: 40 min
"Phoenix Wright should probably know the dangers of drinking and talking to Maya, and he should definitely know the dangers of drinking and writing fanfics about Miles Edgeworth.
He apparently does not." ಠ‿ಠ 👍
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
5) A Night You'll Never Regret by MaudMoon (Idle_Wanderings)
Rating: E Words: 88,589 to read: 3.45 hours
OK, full confession: the reason why I'm late getting this list out is because I found myself rereading this fic. Once you pick it up you can't put it down.
The AA gang head to Vegas for Maggey and Gumshoe’s re-wedding where the boys get into some legendary bachelor night shenanigans. This fic is sweet, funny, creative and a bit of a case-fic to boot. File under ‘Narumitsu required readings’
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
6) In Vino Veritas by Samioli
Rating: T Words: 1, 558 to read: 7 min
"In Vino Veritas: in wine, there is truth." so how could I not include this one? Plus it is so, so, so good! ❤️💙 x infinity!
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
7) Am I… Cute? by furnacejjohnson
Rating: T Words: 2, 173 to read: 6 min
"Edgeworth finds himself a bit drunk, a bit flustered, and a bit curious." this one could have easily fit onto my AA fics that made me LOL list. It's so much fun and literally had me laughing out loud :D
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
8) Cheers by zombiekittiez for banialuka
Rating: T Words: 2,144 to read: 6 min
Inspired by Banailuka’s art, 'Cheers' Beautiful phrasing in this one. Enjoy! ....er, I mean Cheers!
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
9) en plein air by bunnydarko
Rating: M Words: 46, 131 to read: 3 hours
Lovely 12 chapters of Miles and Phoenix getting together and enjoying the honeymoon phase a bit. Lots of good banter, drunken banter and fluff. Done just right- not too sweet.
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
10) Project: Matchmakers by WingSongHalo
Rating: M Words: 46, 131 to read: 3 hours
This is a looong fic, however, I am adding it to the list because of the pivotal 'Miles has a wee too much to drink' scene within. Also, because I think this fic might be required Narumitsu reading.
“I love y….uuuunicorns? Yeah. Sure. Them. Bye.”
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
11) apfelwein by heiiskltchen
Rating: M Words: 46, 131 to read: 3 hours
Recommended to me by bytemite on Reddit/r/Narumitsu, this fic is a good’un folks! What a rush. Incredibly charming, tender and schexy with a a dusting of angst for flavour, done right :)
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
File under shared before but worth sharing again!
12) by the book by zombiekittiez
Rating: T Words: 2, 038 to read: 10 min
BOOK CLUB + DRUNK MILES!!! What more could you ask for, really? .. (spoilers)… Hashbrowns and belly kisses of course 😚
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
13) Turnabout Sorrows by royal_subterfuge (orphan_account)
Rating: M Words: 3,098 to read: 15 min
Seriously this might be my all-time favourite fic on Ao3 (heh, ok, I have many all-time favourites), and it absolutely kills me that the author decided to orphan their account so that they can't receive our fan-love. I have come back and read this one again and again. This one takes place in Germany, with Phoenix and Miles finishing off a bottle together. There is such beautiful phrasing and imagery, allusions to the past, acknowledgement of the present, tension and release, yeah, just, just read it. You'll see what I mean. Best wishes and sincere gratitude to the author wherever they may be.
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
14) Do you trust me? by kuraintrain
Rating: M Words: 13,547 to read: 55 min
It might feel like a bit of a stretch to include this one under 'boozy truths' but I will take any excuse to share this wonderful fic by one of my favourite authors again. And drinks do play a part in the story.
Miles and Phoenix connect at a conference. The one with the ‘Rat Trial of 1508’ and one of the sweetest confession scenes ever written ❤️💙
Read and reread for wonderful banter and feels. Highly, highly recommended.
( ^‿^)o自 ♡ 自o(^‿^ )
And that's it for now! Do you have an Ace Attorney or Narimitsu flavoured story that fits this theme? Feel free to add it in the comments or tags!
P.S. next week is the Miles & Maya are BFFs edition!
Cheers!

Cornwall 2024 - Tag 19
Ladies and Gentlemen!

Still Rose in the UK“ ausgezeichnet.

Außerdem bietet "The Vine House Kitchen" Speisen, ausschließlich lokaler Produkte, an.

Good Night!
Angie, Micha und Mister Bunnybear

Mündliches, allzu mündliches
1.
2.
Was hat man weitergegeben? Wo hat man Schub gegeben, wo hat man gehemmt, was hat man abgeschnitten? Was eröffnet?

Frankfurt
I have decided to resurrect this blog. It's been years and I've been lazy. I remember when I started this little blog for one of the first major travel adventures Chris and I went on. We took a 3 month trip, I documented pretty much all of it and not long after we returned home we got Hope. Now, 12 years later (and once again dogless and without a dance company), I am looking for ways to keep myself creatively occupied and return to documenting our travels as a way to preserve memories and stay in touch with family and friends.
So here we are. Frankfurt. We left Vancouver on a Saturday afternoon on May 31st and arrived in Frankfurt around 8am on June 1st. We flew into Frankfurt because it was a reasonably priced direct flight during the height of tourist season. In addition, it's not far from the French border; we can take a train and be in France in a matter of hours. France is the focus of our trip this month (and who doesn't love to take the train in Europe?) so we figured we would spend three nights in Frankfurt, get our bearings and drink some Apfelwein.
From the airport, we took the train to Haupbtbahnhof, the main train station located in the downtown core of Frankfurt.

The scene around the train station is...let's go with lively. As you walk down the street, you can't tell if people are speaking German or not; there are so many different people from different countries in this area. Due to the fact that we were arriving relatively early in the morning, Chris found a hotel not even 10 minute walk from the train station. BUT, we couldn't check-in until 3.00 pm. So we did what we do best: dropped our bags and walked around the city.

I had heard for many years that Frankfurt was "an industrial town." I wasn't sure what to expect so I went with no expectations. I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived on a Sunday and it was super chill the entire day which was a nice way to be introduced to the city. Of course, there is an expected touristy old square that you can't not visit. Don't be fooled by the photo-it's smaller than it looks!

I was surprised by how much greenery there was. All along the river there are trees and wildflowers, aggressive ducks, folks walking their dogs, joggers and convenient places to sit and have an aperol spritz if that is what the late afternoon calls for.
There is a beautiful green belt loop that has a walking path; it cuts through the city almost making me believe that the city is a giant park and not an urban hub most people only tend to visit between flights. Along the way statues are placed amongst the foliage, adding to the experience. A major connection point of the trail is the Alte Opera.

After three days here, we have walked and walked and WALKED. There is public art everywhere. I found myself digging the distinct contrast in architecture; modern glass high-rises towering over baroque, gothic renaissance and classical buildings. Apparently Frankfurt got pretty flattened during WWII which accounts for this. Again, I was surprised by the greenery of the tucked away neighborhoods. Scooters and bicycles are prevalent and don't always adhere to their designated lanes (they also have a way of sneaking up behind you on sidewalks). I found my memory pleasantly jogged with the three or four German words that I learnt from one of my most dearest friends when we took a trip to Vienna many years ago. In fact, just being back in Germany felt very nostalgic of the extended time I spent in Vienna for ImPulsTanz. And of course, NO trip to Frankfurt is complete without eating an actual Frankfurt!

Despite the jet lag that is unavoidable at the start of a trip like this, all went well. There isn't a ton to do in Frankfurt but it's nice not to have the pressure to sight see at the start of a trip as you try and reset your internal clock. Peonies seem to be a local flower, there is a plethora of Lebanese, Balkan and Afghani food that make it easy to eat well without breaking the bank. A decent coffee for 2,50 euros can be found (and if you're really pinching pennies you can often find 1 euro coffees from coffee machines in some grocery stores). Other observations: the Germans like their dessert with their coffee, especially in the afternoon. I couldn't help but smile as we walked by four young lads sitting outside at a coffee shop on a Sunday afternoon, laughing with impressive slices of cheesecake and coffees in glasses with visible ribbons of chocolate sauce. Bread tends to be brown and dense and delicious.

Not a bad way to start another a new adventure :)

I give Frankfurt 3/5. Next stop: Strousburg.
