I drew Mob Psycho 100 characters as Ace Attorney ones in my last post , so here’s the reverse of that! (The explanation can be found on that linked post ^^)

The funniest thing to me about Ryunosuke being an English student and not a law student is that this Japanese English major who studied British law for a month managed to solve a case that had been nowhere close to solved for 10 years. Ryunosuke's only experience was his own trial and the (at that point) approximately 3 and a half months worth of experience he had as a lawyer (because he'd been disbarred for 6 months). Arguably, he only had a few weeks of experience at best, since it's implied the only cases he got are the ones we play through in TGAA (meaning he'd defended in a grand total of 6 cases in court before 2-4).

apollo had to have seen phoenix and kristoph together during the time he worked for gavin law offices and even if he wasn't fully aware of the extent of what was going on he's not completely oblivious, so I do think during turnabout trump he was probably stood behind the bench thinking "wow this must have been one messy break up"

if i had a nickel for every time a character called Polly with a red color scheme and a canon commentary on their ability to vocalize came in cultch to save the day in a case that seemed impossible to win, i'd have Two (2) nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's crazy that it happened twice.

Etho wasn't sure how to deal with being bonded to someone else, let alone that person being Joel. He had to trust Joel completely, he had to stay by his side. Sure he could do what Cleo had done, maybe join her, he'd be safe from Joel; he was a formidable foe when he wanted to be. That wouldn't feel right though, Etho wanted to give this a chance, to trust wholeheartedly.

manfred von karma and beanix are narrative foils, actually.

so, this is a parallel that drives me INSANE as a parallel lover but i see no one talk about it.

(this is a long post, so put on your seatbelt)

think of an attorney with a win record. always crushing the opposition, even if their methods may be slightly unhinged. something happens. they say the evidence is forged. (manfred was unaware of the is-7 forgery, phoenix didn't know about the diary page) a father leaves the courtroom and a kid is left behind. and that attorney takes the kid wreathed in red(ooh colour symbolism) looking like a copy of their father in. am i talking about manfred and miles after dl-6 or beanix and trucy after zak disappears? 

they also both have a defense attorney nemesis. gregory and kristoph are direct opposites. one calls out forged evidence to stop von karma. one is the reason the forged evidence was there in the first place. 

also manfred and beanix both have their main colours be grey and light blue. i do not think this is a coincidence. colours in ace attorney are a pretty big thing but i digress. 

also the case that leads to this is ultimately solved by thier protege. the kid they mentor. is-7 by miles. wearing red, and the disbarrement plus the misham trial and all that by apollo, wearing red. 

but they are also opposites. 

von karma cares for perfection. he does anything to be perfect. even training a parrot. because he would cross examine a parrot if it meant he could win. he becomes a man obsessed with perfection. that one implusive moment almost ruined him. if he had just let it go he wouldn't have been indicted for dl-6.  but he tries to frame miles. and the legal system finds definitive evidence he did it. they would never have found that if he shut his trap. 

phoenix cares about justice. justice for all. matt engarde. he doesnt let the guilty get away with it. he actually follows what von karma pretended to. and instead to being impulsive after the disbarment, he plans. there's no definite evidence so he changes the law so he doesn't need it. he uses a hat camera to zoom into kristophs boobs. 

also the kids they adopt they treat differently.  von karma can't help but to treat miles like miles edgeworth. he can't stop seeing his own faults in him. he can't stop seeing his own guilt reflected back in the boy. phoenix sees trucy and is like ah so i have daughter. i love her so much. trucy is still a magician. she gets to follow her childhood dream. unlike miles who is so crushed with the weight of what von karma did that he can't bear to be a defense attorney. the situation of yanni yogi going free disillusioned him from the idea defense attorneys were good, but trucy helped her dad (zak) with the magic show and subsequent disappearance and yet still found it in herself to love magic. miles never changes his last name . he's still intrinsically linked with gregory.               

trucy changes her last name. 

phoenix is the father that stayed. he lets her be a magician and a performer but she doesn't have to perform for him. he's accused of murder. like her other father. this time trucy doesn't make him disappear.

also random thing. phoenixs badge is on his shoulder/heart kinda area. its taken from him. leaving a gaping hole. rather like a bullet id say.

Im currently playing through the last few cases of Dual Destinies and they're ripping my heart in two.

Anyway, I know the fandom recognizes Christmas for being a big deal because of the DL-6 incident and Edgeworth's trail that took place around Christmas Eve. But, if I'm not mistaken, Clay died December 15th, right?

What if there were a somber fic where Apollo has to cope with his best friend's 1st death anniversary near Christmas.

Apollo might go cold or quiet around the 15th. Slowly withdrawing into his work and not wanting to talk about it, especially with Trucy or Pheonix: one of which is excitedly preparing for Christmas and the other is busy with god knows what. He may be willing to talk to Athena, but if she pried into it before he was ready to talk, he might shut it down. If the office is really emotionally dence that day, they may even tease him for burrying himself in work or being a scrooge.

Edgeworth would visit for the holidays, a habbit that formed over the 7 year gap.

What if Edgeworth, who understands the conflict of handling extreme loss around a "happy season", helps Apollo by pulling him off to the side and talking with him; giving him a place to be seen and heard and not be brushed off.

Edgeworth's experience was PTSD inducing, but he's learned how to cope in certain ways. The coping doesn't bring back the one you lost, and it doesn't always heal what's been hurt. In those moments its okay to not "be fine". Its okay to mourn. Its okay to break. Its okay to not be okay. Everyone eles may busy themselves with preparations and festivities, but you can take the time you need.

I think Apollo would quietly begin crying while Edgeworth spoke. Dispite his famos chords of steel, not a single noise would leave his person. Edgeworth wouldn't even know when he started crying. It would be awkward as they're not the touchy feely type nor are they all that close so a hug might not be on the table. But I think Apollo would appreciate Edgeworth's attempt at comfort none the less.

Edgeworth might even suggest talking to a closer confidant like Klavier or Athena because they are good listeners and care about Apollo.

I think Edgeworth and Apollo are remarkably similar but also very estranged. I want to see them interact more and I think this would be a sweet moment.
