I have this HUGE art book called “la pintura en el barroco” and I’m doing a project where I draw portraits of every single painting in it ! My biggest struggle is with portraits of this size (hence why I’m practicing🥲) and honestly I really really like how this one turned out🫶 I was focusing on the little shades that make up his face shape, trying to make it soft since he has a lot of fat yet defined, trying to show his age…it was such a fun challenge though & im excited to do more😇🙏

I didn't think the show had been over such a big stretch of time already, I thought maybe a year tops, we know there was a month between the end of s2 and start of s3 and I guess I can't remember how long they suggest was between s1 and s2

I think it sort of has to be a longer span of time to account for just the normal aging of actors while it takes so long to film. Mat's sisters are suddenly much older, for instance, and old enough to be randomly channeling.

One thing I REALLY FUCKING LIKE about genloss is the fucking turn when it comes the audience's role. Usually the audience is the enemy, after all how can we just fucking watch as if it's a good old soap opera. We as the audience are playing with real people. The people on the other side are more than allowed to hate the audience and try to escape and ruin the show for us

But the hero in generation 1? Nah bro. Maybe it's because of the mind control or the dead people but his first thought was about his own lack of action. He could have saved people but he didn't. And because of his lack of action + an audience he thinks of the audience as a judge. We are not only entertaining ourselves with his suffering, we are putting him on trial for everything the hero has done.

So when the code scene hits, the hero goes for self preservation. The audience/judge has decided he's a bad person and part of his punishment is to put the red code. So he puts the yellow one instead.

And at the fucking ending (my god the fucking ending). Usually the audience doesn't have control of anything. After all we are not the creators. But in his time of need the hero begs the audience/judge to stop the trial. To set him free.

I just love how also that's portrayed by the lack of fear. Like he's not screaming cuz he's scared. He's screaming cuz this is the final trial and ofc he's gonna beg for the best outcome. He feels guilty already, he has lost everyone and he could become a mindless follower again if we didn't make the right choice.

And I just think that's a fucking cool place to put your audience in (plus there's a lot to say about the position of audience/judge and streamers/creators). It's really cool to see that dynamic with higher stakes.
