The Science Behind ABA Therapy for Autism
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has emerged as a cornerstone in autism treatment, backed by a strong foundation of scientific research. At Bright Balloons Autism Center, we're committed to providing evidence-based ABA therapies that cater to the unique needs of each child.
Understanding the Science of ABA
ABA is a scientifically proven approach that focuses on improving specific behaviors through positive reinforcement. By analyzing the relationship between a behavior and its consequences, ABA therapists can identify effective strategies to modify behavior.
Key Principles of ABA
Positive Reinforcement: ABA emphasizes the use of positive reinforcement to increase desired behaviors. This involves rewarding desired behaviors, making them more likely to occur again.
Discrete Trial Training (DTT): This is a structured teaching method that breaks down skills into smaller steps, making them easier for children with autism to learn.
Natural Environment Training (NET): NET focuses on teaching skills in real-world settings, promoting generalization and application of learned skills.
Pivotal Response Training (PRT): PRT aims to improve motivation, social skills, and communication by targeting pivotal behaviors that can lead to broader skill development.
The Benefits of ABA Therapy
Improved Communication: ABA can help children with autism develop language skills and learn to communicate effectively.
Enhanced Social Skills: Through ABA, children can learn to interact with others, understand social cues, and develop friendships.
Reduced Challenging Behaviors: ABA can help address challenging behaviors, such as aggression, self-injury, or repetitive behaviors.
Increased Independence: By teaching essential life skills, ABA can help individuals with autism become more independent and self-sufficient.

per my hua cheng is not a stalker post
some of yall really don't know what legitimate stalking and stalker behavior is.
hua cheng never once followed xie lian around without his consent, as someone pointed out on my previous post, xie lian actively encourages, seeks out, and enjoys hua chengs company
hua cheng has never threatened xie lian or intentionally made him afraid
hua cheng never purposefully led xie lian into dangerous situations, or purposefully let harm come to him
hua cheng never tried to isolate xie lian and keep him to himself
hua cheng would immediately stop whatever he was doing if xie lian told him no. if xie lian told him to go away forever, hua cheng would.
hua cheng has never given xie lian unwanted or unsettling gifts
hua cheng has never interfered in xie lians life in a way that would harm xie lian, and benefit hua cheng
you know who did?
bai wuxiang
xie lians true stalker who feels entitled to xie lian and obsessed with him to such a degree he wants to mould xie lian in his own image

Yes, people do need to take accountability for the partners they choose to date, at least to some extent. And no, this doesn't apply to abusive relationships, that situation is entirely different.
I'm talking about white people who date other white people who are openly racist. I'm talking about "allies" who date other people who are openly homophobic and transphobic. I'm talking about liberal women who date very conservative men. And seeing bigotry as nothing more than a "political issue."
Of course, it's different if your partner lies and actively hides their political views from you. But if your partner is openly voting for people like Trump, openly supporting conservative politicians, openly hating/harming minority groups, then you should leave them. And you should be held accountable if you to choose to stay with someone like that.

I think depictions of Anya being cruel to Curly or drawing out his suffering are artful and chilling but completely miss the point of the story and her character.
I'm not saying she doesn't deserve to have that "I told you so" moment with him but not in something callous or cold. Even if that is how it happened, she'd immediately feel guilty cause at that point she's not tormenting her tormenter or even the person truly at fault. She's doing something cathartic, similar to how Jimmy likely hits Curly to release rage he can't against the rest of the crew. She'd see herself as no different when she'd come back from the moment and see Curly cowering at her. She wants someone to take responsibility but how does being cruel to the defenseless help? Why would she want the power Jimmy has over her over Curly?
The idea of her extending someone else's pain is just so against the struggles she already faces and how she can't even bring herself to cause someone pain even to help them. Her very desire is to release herself from her own suffering and I doubt she'd even fine some sort of guilty release in being cruel to another.
#anya is not a character i see taking agency or indulging in cathartic behaviors#not knowingly like i see her as a character trapped in her head and maybe in the scenario she's cruel to Curly she is envisioning Jimmy#in his place but its not a story about justice or those deserving of punishment and those not like its the opposite of people projecting#their issues on the wrong people and saying things to the wrong people and doing things they shouldn't but anya uniquely falls out of it as#she is subjected to a lot of it but it is also not something she wants to subject another person to like you are doing what Jimmy does and#placing ur rage into another persons and viewing their actions through your eyes like she'd more likely yell at him than do harm or#cause him more pain like at least make it in character#but also she clearly doesn't want to see jimmy or curly in the same light and doesnt because she still repeatedly goes to Curly for comfort#and protection and god there's like concepts that need to be applied to characters individually and then the story as a whole#we can not view the game through only one themed lens less we forget to inspect the compounding factor of Anya is so much more than girl#that needs to be allowed to go off but a woman that simply wants right to be done by her and no more harm like she doesn't want to be aroun#the suffering like idk but some of yall would just benefit from like understanding that people are inherently grey with the capabilities of#black n white thinking or actions#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#anya mouthwashing#i like her the most but then again i am defensive of all women in media and hate when people change the way the character would take agency#for themselves like yes I want her to tweak out but she just wouldn't and I like seeing realistic depictions of a woman suffering the way#she is like shes not the type at the end of the movie to have a one liner but feel a shallow freedom cause she needs to realistically heal#idk but its just like there is an obbsession forming with making her character her pain and not how she handles and navigates the issue

After hearing all the "ABA is abusive autistic conversion therapy" stuff, it was facinating running into two austistic ABA therapists at a party. they claimed it wasn't like that at all
They said it was about giving low-functioning autistic children who were unable to communicate, constantly self-harmed and/or lashed out violently, the tools to actually be able to communicate, and stop self-harming, etc. They encouraged stuff like stimming. Tried to give kids both non-verbal and verbal ways of communicating, like pads that could say phrases. one of the therapists was a trans girl who wears a manta ray onesie all the time, has a house filled with stim toys, and constantly infodumped about her interests, she did not seem particularly converted.
maybe it's a case of different clinics having wildly divergent practice? They said standards have changed a lot over the years, the modern methods really only got popular circa ~2010 and a lot of the people talking about ABA online were talking about the old stuff.

so fun fact about parrots, they have certain behaviors they do which they use to say, "hey, this is mine!" some parrots can fan their tails as a display of dominance during the breeding season, and tapping their talons on something can be a way to say that something is their territory.
so imagine starscream acting like a territorial bird around his partner. the moment someone makes a pass at them, he starts fanning out his wings, revving his engine, brandishing his claws, and stomping his heels, all a very clear warning for whoever's trying to hit on you to back off, because you're spoken for.
he may be a jealous bird, but he's your jealous bird.

This is in response to an anonymous ask. Anon has been able to sense what we might call Oversoul or Big animals for a while, but since a significant magical awakening Anon has lost the clarity of their Sight.
Anon has advised that after trying connection techniques that used to work, this problem has not resolved.
---
Anon, I disagree with your hypothesis that this may be an active choice by your spirits, either to test you or to encourage you to do something.
When I went through my 'awakening' I encountered an intense shift in the kind of work I had been able to do, and I had to re-learn old skills I was already confident in. It's happened to me more than once. It blows.
This isn't because I was being tested, but rather because my circuitry was being converted from DC to AC and the 12 volt systems weren't compatible with my hardware any more.
I believe it's normal for practitioners to lose and have to re-learn or adapt around old skills. It sucks, but it happens. It would rarely be my first assumption that these things are spirits wanting distance, or putting us through shit tests, or something.
Here are my suggestions:
Tell them you do not like the distance and it's scary. Invite them back and ask them to stay close.
Put old techniques up on the shelf and try something completely new. Like if before you were attempting grounded visualization, this time try water scrying. Or, shapeshifting during astral travel.
Ask them to send clear, direct messages about how to resume old levels of clarity and contact.
Redirect your focus away from spirit working and towards psychism: perform experiments to see if there are any other changes to your Sensing and try to troubleshoot
Engage the help of an ally known to assist with matters of Sensing and clarity, perhaps including gods, plants, or mineral spirits; or smaller spirits (especially the Dead) who can give you information to improve your Sensing and solve this problem.
Redirect focus towards matters of magical hygiene; regular cleansing, unblocking, and ward maintenance can have material effects on Sensing.
Review all ongoing sorcery and ensure no wards, spells, or any projects could be impacting the ability of spirits to easily arrive to you.
Review many recent actions and ensure you have not accidentally caused offense or accidentally did something to send the spirits away; resolve offenses, known or unknown, through general offering rituals asking to bury the hatchet and resume a positive relationship

I suppose people seething about atheists, who claim that we only know how to criticize Christianity, want us to. What. Air our specific grievances with minority religions on a mostly Western platform, on main? Seriously? When you see us dancing around those details, it's often on purpose.
