finally took a rest day and had some time to write an answer to this!

in a previous post (that tbh i don't expect anyone to remember) i mentioned a tidbit of lore about Kosti. this time i'll try to elaborate: he's a villager who lived around 50-60 years before kirik, yagoda and the others. He was one of the first people to notice and become concerned with the spread of fern flowers, which were destroying lands and forcing people out of their homes. of course, as a commoner, there wasn't much he could do. he didn't have much of a say in his own life, let alone the fate of a whole land. but as he made an agreement with a powerful forest demon, their peculiar relationship became a point of interest for half a dozen wizards and mages. By collaborating with them, Kosti not only promised his fellows safety, but also managed to give them autonomy. as such he became their guide, their symbol, their zhrets. well... considering that 50 years later the fern flower problem not only still exists, but is much, much worse, clearly something didn't work out. not to be cryptic or anything, but i don't wanna spill the beans in an ask. i have a possibly interesting idea for loredumping without, y'know, actually loredumping. i will say it will be inspired by the fool's journey in tarot cards. and, about my leshy. of course eradicating the fern flowers would be beneficial to It and Its land... but i think It grew to genuinely like Kosti, as unusual as it is for leshen to care for humans at all. to be honest, it's a bit of a shame because i don't think Kosti saw their relationship as anything else but means to an end. nevertheless It still thinks fondly of him, which might be why It got a bit nervous and possesive when another person with blue hair was born (again, something to elaborate on in that project i mentioned). also since op asked:

it's one of those rare times when i didn't do over the top flower symbolism so it's just a nice plant. HOWEVER, i did start thinking what plant it could be and i think the one that fits best is the dogwood.

it would be quite fitting because apparently it symbolises life, rebirth and protection! :o

Is there anyone else who has played lgts and wished the game was a bit harder with the resource management? As I'm starting to replay the game to get the different routes i realize how easy alot of it is when you aren't doing side stuff like those dairy entries. Like in my second run I got to the festival with over 250 till on me and still had alot of items on elise, it was absurd.

While I am having fun trying to figure out if "Hey, what kinds of challenge runs would be possible" it is a bit sad that the game mechanics themselves were not as tough as i had thought they were my first playthrough. Not that I would really change much, literally the only mechanic I'd genuinely want a bit of a rework would be the suspicion thing as I feel everyone would agree it is not nearly as threatening as it should be. The achievement for dying to it has only been gotten by less than 7% players which is very funny but also a bit sad considering it's meant to be as important as health, food, and sanity </3

I think the only other thing I'd want to change about it is more so just making you physically feel the consequences of what's happening around you. No matter how much grain those crows eat the bread is still 10 till yknow? Feel like it should at the very least be slightly more expensive as time goes on.

I find I enjoy my art a hell of a lot more the messier and scratcher the lines and colors are done, but I always have it in my head that like "Well Teeth only you think rougher drawings look better; you can't do that if it's for a comm or for someone else because it will come off as laziness"

OC-tober Day 8: Past

I recently finished writing out a very important scene for Xiphoid's past, but my plan is to draw it as a comic later! Until I can get around to that, I'll just talk about other stuff relating to The Incident.

I'd love to come up with a cool proper name for The Incident, but I find leaving it vague very funny. That could mean anything. I will accept alternate Incident name suggestions.

Anyways The Incident is the night Xiph had an outburst and damaged some property, including another Xiphoid model. Most details were swept under the rug to avoid any panic from the public, a "rogue robot" is kind of a bad look for a robot-selling company. It's pretty well-known there was also a fire, though. Xiph themself managed to avoid getting deactivated, but they are permanently labeled as defective and closely monitored.

It's accepted as fact among the bots that Xiph's the reason humans were removed from the maintenance wing, though the company has made no official statement of it. None of the other Xiphoids were activated at the time either, so it's not like they really know anything about it, but there's enough details floating around for them to assume. That's the main reason Xiph's relationship with the others is so poor, not that Xiph put any effort into clearing up rumors. There's a solid period of time when Xiph just stays in their office alone, brooding and whatever, before they meet Naut and start finding their passions. And that's how you get friendly-but-weird current-day Xiph :]
