Dadan does give off fun Auntie vibes.

She deserves a spot in the family, even if she’s not the most perfect actual parent.

I can also see her being a good “drinking” buddy for Crocodile, or at least someone that helps him take breaks from the kids when he needs it.

Yes! One of the first Stinky Child things I drew was Dadan and Crocodile hanging out together but it never got past the sketch stage.

But yeah, I think we could "torment" Dadan a bit by having Crocodile show up at her house with a murderous look, cigarettes and alcohol. It would probably not hurt to just have a place to retreat to when things get a bit much and while Dadan might be afraid of him at first, she'd probably warm up to him eventually.

Also, if Dadan and Dragon knew each other as kids, she might have some Dragon gossip. X3

(And she might not really bat an eye at all when Crocodile doesn't try to be someone else for the sake of separating piracy and parenthood. She's a bandit, he's a pirate. There's an understanding there that Crocodile is more than he tries to pretend to be in Windmill Village.)

Okay this may be an annoying question..so sorry to bother you lol.

But, how the fuck do you go about writing a fanfic?? Like what’s your process to writing, being able to plan it all out, and format it?

I have so many ideas for my own fics, but I always get stumped in the actually doing it part. Partly because I have no confidence in my writing abilities, and because I just get overwhelmed and discouraged to actually try. I feel like I have no clue what I’m doing lol. But the itch in my brain to actually sit down and try ain’t leaving.

I have a lot of respect for your writing abilities, all your stuff is just so good. So anyways, if you have any advice, that would be great!

When I get an idea, I really just start writing it. I worry about smoothness and grammar and stuff like that later, I just start to get the idea going. Starting to write the fic gets my brain moving, and before I know it I'm already deep skdndjjejd

For fics with multiple chapters, I plan them like this:

I've been writing fics since 2017, and all I cam day is– practice! The more you write, the more you slowly get more confident in your abilities and learn what works out best for you. I didn't write glkd fics at the start, and thats okay. We all start somewhere <3

I need to know what it is about so hard…. What happened

Someone very passionate in the one piece fandom believes Shuggy to be toxic and glorifying abuse. And that Shuggy shippers need to accept the “truth” of their dynamic. I’m just gonna copy and paste what they said, this was in a post of them trying to explain how the dynamic is abusive.

“There is so much wrong with the ship and how it's treated that all that shit about shuggy haters trying to debunk it using some shitty half assed excuse like its "emotional incest" when there's so many other problems is if I looked at a history book and was like "Yeah the colonizers of the America were definitely wrong because their wigs were weird" like that's completely insignificant! Shuggy and the way its treated as if Buggy is the wronged one and always the loved and longed after while he has his poor hurt heart closed off from years of trauma like abandoning his friend and pillaging and killing innocent civilians while using their wealth to flaunt and pretend like he's big and strong.”

Someone in a fandom not seeing the full scope as to why you hate a ship, is not the same as miss understanding real historical atrocities.

Also the way this is worded makes it sound like they think Buggy is a colonizer. Like his crimes are comparable to the real atrocities commit by colonizers. Buggy was on the May Flower guys lol

Not liking a ship because you believe the dynamic is toxic does not make you morally better than anyone who does ship it. Disliking a ship because you have an opinion that you think is fact, and people disagreeing with you or not having the same perspective as you, is not the same as miss understanding why the Colonizers were bad people.

This all started because they posted this long rant about how much they hate buggy and shuggy, tagged it as Shuggy, so people who ship it would see it. Shippers saw it and didn’t like it, wow color me surprised….

If Dragon and Crocodile raised Luffy when he was younger I feel like Garp would have been one of those well meaning but unhelpful and nightmarish, in-laws.

Like Garps view on how to take care of a child is very old fashioned. This man 100% tried to rub Whiskey on Luffy’s gum when he was teething.

Or let’s Luffy cry everything out to “build his character, and give him strong lungs”

Probably tired to feed Luffy solid foods way earlier than he was supposed to “to help him sleep better at night”

And or Garp walked in and already knowing they were having a boy before it was reveled because of some pregnancy wives tale.

Dragon getting a headache before Garp shows up unannounced to give unsolicited parenting advice. It’s like a sixth sense. Dragon gets a headache, Garp is showing up to stir the pot.

Like in this silly comic I drew. Garp's just around to be a bother though of course he thinks of himself as being very helpful and contributing to family bonding.

Just by seeing how Garp approaches parenting Luffy, Crocodile gets a glimpse into just what Dragon's childhood must have been like.

Omg having to feed a baby Luffy was probably so exhausting! Poor Crocodile, I can picture him getting tried and stressed out thinking he can’t provide enough for his baby. Hormonal and crying thinking he’s the worst parent ever that he can’t even keep his baby fed. Thinking he’s starving his poor child.

Dragon having to swoop in and remind him that Luffy’s appetite is not like a normal average babie’s. And that he’s doing a great job even with Luffy’s needs. Reminding him that formula is always there and not to stress out too much.

With the appetite stuff, we of course have no clue about Dragon, but Garp is shown walking around eating snacks and stuff. So I would imagine he probably has a bigger appetite than average.

Maybe being raised by Garp, Dragon just has a better appreciation for food. But also I think the Ds in general all seem to love their food.

I can picture Crocodile having a bigger appetite, maybe his devil fruit gives him a faster metabolism like Luffy’s. I just think he’s better at hiding it. Gotta keep up the cool guy looks. So I’ll eat more often just more politely. And it makes me look unbothered and badass to eat in front of prisoners. Maybe he’s got a couple snacks in his pocket he takes around too lol.

Or there was no big influence and Luffy is just an anomaly.

But it’s just really funny picturing Luffy biting the fuck out of Dragon just to steal his last piece of meat, and Dragon actually considering fighting his son to steal it back.

Crocodile just watching it all go down with a very disapproving look, that causes everyone to snap out of it and go back to eating normally with a sad pout.

I don’t think Dragon could ever stop caring about Crocodile. Partly because of his guilt and shame, but also I think after a while he starts to realize he loved Crocodile for more than the escapism he offered. I don’t think he could after forget that. But he would probably resign himself to “Crocodile hates me, I’ve hurt him enough. He’s living a different life now. I can’t disturb that, I have no right to.” So just accepts he lost Crocodile and his chance at a family.

So I think Dragon would be more than willing to start a healing journey with Crocodile. But it’s all up to Crocodile whether it happens. Crocodile has a lot of pain to process and heal from. He has a lot of things he has to change his perspective on. He needs to see Dragon is willing and able to take accountability.

I truly think Marineford changed everything. I think it would have give Crocodile a new opportunity to really grow, and unpack his past. To finally truly heal instead of running away from and ignoring it. To see his baby.

I am really unsure how much Crocodile ever let himself truly feel, he probably just coped with it all through anger and shame. Never really wanted to process or understand, just push away and forget. I do also think no matter how much he shames himself for it, I can see him still admiring Dragon or at least not forgetting those cold quiet nights of them being together, loving each other.

So Crocodile has his heart-to-heart with Iva after Marineford. Iva punishes Dragon for his past choices. After sometime of them both moping, Iva suggests that it might be helpful if they both start talking. It doesn’t even have to be about any of the past. Just a simple, how are you. And if that can be good, maybe they can both finally address everything together. Iva probably has to take up the role as mediator, as he sees both sides and knows this can be good for them. Looking over Dragon’s shoulder, making sure he’s behaving.

It's definitely going to be a long, exhausting time before anything is truly better. But I can see them working it out. I’m sure Crocodile would be anxious to EVER make an intimate promise like before. So I don’t see it happening unless he can truly heal, and it’s what he wants and things will be good for him.

I don’t think Dragon would try to initiate any sort of like “hey I think we should talk again, or be partners again.” As that’s not really his call. Crocodile needs to feel he’s respected and in control here to build back trust. So I think Dragon would be pleased with anything Crocodile is wiling to give him. Whether that’s with the label “Partners” or not. I can definitely see them working something out.

(But I can def see them having long nice calls of just taking and being in each other presence. And or meeting up occasionally, and just fucking LOL!!)

Yeah, I think the perspective that distance and age brings might take some of the edge off of Crocodile's anger. He might be more understanding of what both of them got out of the relationship and he might also come to understand just how vital it to stay dedicated if you're leading an entire (sort of secret) organization. He understands how some things, even the most important and most precious things, will have to wait. Because they could wait, no matter how much it sucked to be pregnant and alone there weren't the lives of thousands at stake. (Crocodile was probably also isolated with only the midwife there to keep him infrequent, professional "company". Of course he withdraws into himself and stews in all the discomfort and loneliness and bitterness). But Dragon could not communicate that and Crocodile could not see it.

He does now. And maybe he does at times wonder how it would have been if they had overcome that. Because he did feel good with Dragon before everything crashed and burned around them.

But Marineford tore up a lot of wounds and despite it all, how is he able to cope with the choice Dragon made? A dead baby might have been a loss to put behind them and eventually move on. But a very much alive baby, that lie, the abandonment of it to the whims of Garp and Mountain Bandits?

The talking with Iva there as mediator would definitely help (especially since Iva will just be obnoxious and push and not let them sit on their resentments. He needs Dragon focused and it's in Crocodile's best interest to also figure this out.)

But yessss, phone calls and conversations and fucking. Hey, they've got a lot of pent up energy. And both of them probably haven't gotten laid in years. What's the worst that could happen?

And does Crocodile ever find out Garp was the one that dumped Ace with Dadan?

I think so! I would still like to have Dadan as a sort of parental figure/ aunt in this AU and Crocodile wouldn‘t leave his kids with someone he doesn‘t somewhat trust (even though Dragon and Dadan might know each other because they‘re the same age.)

And yes! I still haven‘t drawn the Garp visiting comic but one day I will and then they‘d learn how Ace ended up with Dadan X3

Where do you think Luffy’s appetite came from? Does Crocodile and Dragon have naturally bigger appetites and it combined into the monster Luffy is? Or was it all Garp/living with the bandits? Or is that just a Luffy thing. (Which is most certainly probably true. He gotta fast as fuck metabolism and gotta keep is energy stocked lol.)

I like picturing Crocodile having a family dinner with the Ds and he’s just politely cutting his stake while Dragon, Garp, and Luffy fist fight for the last drum stick.

I do wonder about that too! The devil fruit certainly makes a big difference though he might have always been a big eater.

I don't remember if Garp has a big appetite and we don't know about Dragon. Maybe D. clan members have a habit of eating a lot of food (Ace is first introduced with a mountain of plates around him.)

Though of course I like to imagine the scenario you're proposing! (Even though I think Crocodile might have tried to beat some table manners into them. Also, I wonder if it might have been exhausting to feed a very hungry baby Luffy *lol*)

We do see Crocodile's plate in Alabasta and its pretty normal, so he's probably not a big eater like the others? Though he might just eat more often? Like, why sit down to eat when you're clearly dealing with prisoners? I mean sure, it could just be a move to show how unbothered he is *lol* But still, it might just be that he eats more than normal too, he just spreads it out.

A "small" continuation of Angst thoughts.

I would like to add hurt/comfort is my fave thing lol, so I’m gonna expand a bit more on my first thoughts.

I think during the pregnancy, Crocodile is less resentful to the baby and more resentful towards Dragon. (I know my wording made it sound like he hates the baby, but I don’t actually think that.)

There was just a lot of hurt and complicated emotions going on at that time. I don’t think he could ever truly hate his baby. It was just more hate towards Dragon, for leaving him with this, and not considering what he truly needed.

Crocodile probably just viewed the baby more apathetically. Not wanting to get too attached with how unsure his future looked. He was probably just in this autopilot mode.

I think the birth made him snap out of it a bit, maybe he did want to be a parent, maybe he could work things out with Dragon, but Dragon took his choice out of it. Even if he wanted to try, he couldn’t. So this part of his life was dead to him now.

Marineford was a BIG moment for Crocodile. I think Iva would have put things together quick after Luffy told them who he was. With how close Iva and Dragon are, there’s no way Iva didn’t know about Crocodile and their relationship. But Dragon kept the pregnancy a very close secret. I think partly because of the shame and guilt he feels about how things played out. Maybe he doesn’t want to hear Iva say the things he already knows. So Iva being unaware of Crocodile thinking his baby is dead, but putting the pieces together, probably tried to subtly hint to Crocodile he knows Luffy is his kid.

All of that flies over Crocodile’s head, in his mind his baby is dead. It’s more likely that Dragon knocked someone else up and just had another kid. Maybe Crocodile doesn’t even want to acknowledge the possibility of his baby being alive, ESPECIALLY that baby being alive as Luffy, the kid he tried to kill in Alabasta. To find out Dragon lied to him to think his baby was dead, and was actually Luffy this whole time. AAAAAHHH big shit right there.

I think he eventually puts the pieces together, but probably knows it would be really random to suddenly be all over Luffy. So does his best to protect him and his brother during Marineford. Seeing Luffy so emotionally hurt when Ace dies probably felt like a punch to the gut for Crocodile. I like to think Iva and Crocodile are pretty decent friends. So after everything happens at Marineford maybe they meet up, and have a heart-to-heart. Crocodile drops the bomb that he didn’t know Luffy was his kid or even alive, and that he almost actually killed him. Iva then has a very strongly worded call with Dragon and kicks the shit out of him next time they meet.

I'm not sure Dragon and Crocodile could truly ever rekindle a relationship, but I do think they could get to a less hostile point. It would just take a lot of healing.

Also, sidenote, I think Crocodile finding out how Luffy was raised was just another thing added to the shit list on Dragon. Like Imagine you find out the baby you had wasn't dead, and wasn't even taken care of by the man who told you it was dead. Just tossed to the side to be raised by some bandits in the mountains and by his crazy ass marine grandfather.

Yeah, I think it's really difficult for Crocodile to get over the fact that Dragon took the choice away from him. I think Iva would ultimately understand why Dragon did what he did (after some explosive anger of course) since they've known Dragon for so long, but they would still feel with Crocodile. And they'd probably try to bridge the gap between all these people because they get tired of all the moping.

I'm a hopeless person so I think Dragon and Crocodile could eventually make peace with the situation and move forward. I mean the resentment would be on Crocodile's side so he would have to be able to overcome that hurt (and the anger and really, Dragon? Mountain bandits and your crazy ass marine grandfather?! Crocodile has had the misfortune of being sent on Warlord missions with the guy.) Whether Dragon would have held on to whatever love he had for Crocodile or if he stopped caring is another question.

(They definitely have to meet and fight it out. Maybe they could have hate sex about it too I don't know. Sorry. Sending myself to jail. )
