Learing Asagiri studied engineering explains so much, I could feel it with how detailed he always goes into the mechanisms his world.
As someone who also likes writing but is studying engineering the urge to make every cool concept I learn about into some crazy device/power in a story is so strong.
And you can see that same thing all over Asagiris writing, how much detail he goes into the security of Mearsult and the mechanism behind each part of Stranden Island or the Sky Casino just screams engineering student.
It just makes me so happy to see someone blending two of my favourite things so well.
