Naruto AU I’ve been slaving on for months.
Kurodai, Rated T, Ongoing
There’s going to be a lot in this AU, and it’s mainly just an excuse for me to try writing angst lol. But there’s also a lot of fluff.

Hello, me again! Kurodai where everyone thinks they are dating but they aren't even though they spend every free moment together and cuddle more than most friends.
Daichi is tucked away under Kuroo’s arm, his head resting nicely in the crook of his neck, and he could just close his eyes and fall asleep if they weren’t watching a movie. Actually, it sounded quite tempting. It’s been a long day, and though he’s always up for dumb comedies, sleep is also nice, and if he was to close his eyes for a bit, Kuroo would probably wake him up before his favorite part came on anyway… but no. Daichi forced himself to stay awake, fighting the temptation to close his eyes and let naptime win.
Kuroo’s hand ran up and down his arm, stopping to give him a slight pinch on the forearm, jolting Daichi awake for sure. Daichi pouted, turning to bury his head further into Kuroo, mumbling out a protest. “You’re missing out.” Kuroo teased, before reaching to pull the covers over their laps and fend off the cold. “I don’t care…” Daichi complained. “You gotta stay up. Bo will be home soon, and you promised you’d help me dye his hair.”“I regret it now. Want a nap.” “Fine… nap, I’ll wake you when he gets here.”“Thank you.” Daichi turned, his own arms coming to wrap around Kuroo’s torso as he melted into his best friend’s side, letting sleep win and closing his eyes for a short nap.
Tetsurou sighed to himself, relaxing to Sawamura’s soft snores as he slept away. He tried focusing on the screen, though the movie wasn’t as interesting anymore. Instead, his eyes were focused on his phone, flipping through social media platforms and answering the occasional text. A key inserted into the front door caused Tetsurou to look up briefly, “Oh, hey Oikawa.”“Tetsu-chan! Hello!” Oikawa called out, stopping in his tracks after entering the apartment, “Oh… sorry, didn’t realize Sawamura was here and sleeping. I’ll be quiet now.”“It’s fine… how was class?”“Class was great! As expected from astronomy!”“When Bokuto gets here we’re dying his hair.”“Ooh, it’s about time. His roots look terrible.”“You can’t say things like that, you know how he gets about his hair…”“Yeah, yeah…” Oikawa waved off, “I’m off to my room, let me know when he gets here.”“Sure thing.”
Tetsurou turned back to his phone, scrolling away as he waited for his other roommate to come home. He got a text from another friend, Daichi’s roommate, in the meantime.
From: Moniwa-kun
> Stress baking again! Any requests? Dai’s not answering me back!
< Hmmm… Dai really likes that cheesecake you did last month? The yuzu one? < and he’s napping right now
> Great choice, tell the bf I said hello~~
Tetsurou nodded his head, making a mental note to tell Sawamura when he woke him up about Moniwa’s greeting. He then received a snapchat from Kita, Daichi’s third roommate. It was a photo of him and Moniwa in aprons holding up whisks.
@kita_shin : don't forget pizza tomorrow at 8pm
>> @kurokuro : dai and i will be there !
“Hey, hey, hey!” Bokuto called out a he entered their dorm. Kuroo greeted him back and then turned to shake Sawamura awake, but instead let him be, “Are you all ready to help me? I have a date with Ushijima tomorrow, so we have to get started.”“Oh yeah? Congrats, Bo.” Kuroo stated.“Yeah, i’m super nervous about it though.”“How come? You’ve hung out with Ushijima before.”“Yeah, but he’s Sawamura’s friend, more than yours, so by association we’re not that close. There’s still a lot to learn about him. Oh! I know!” Bokuto hooted, “You and Sawamura can come on my date too! We can double date!”“Double date? Why would Sawamura and I--”“Oh, come on, Kuroo! You can tell me that you and Sawamura are dating, it doesn’t have to be a secret anymore.”“Wait what?”“Everyone knows it by now. You can stop with the act.”“It’s not an act! Sawamura and I aren’t dating!”“Well, why not? You two are always together, and even now you’re all cuddled together like boyfriends!”“...W-what makes you even think that I like him that way?”“Oh ho? You so do…” Bokuto teased, eyebrows waggling suggestively.

Prompt: Kurodai - A and B are classmates and barely know each other until one night A shows up at 3am to B door, soaking wet, covered in glitter, crying and begging B to let them stay the night. What happened to A, how does B react and how does it progress from there? (Put random prompts in a generator and this one popped up first 😆)
i’ve restarted this like three times, and still don’t like the end result haha. here it goes anyway! thanks for sending a prompt in :)
Daichi is torn between amusement and anger. It’s 3AM and instead of being tucked away in bed, he’s standing in the doorway of his dorm room, staring at someone soaking wet yet covered in glitter. It’s weird, hence the amusement, but it’s 3AM, hence the anger. “Uh… Kuroo-san?” He calls out. It’s a little hard to recognize Kuroo with his hair down and dripping water on the floor while also reflecting the shitty hallway lights thanks to the silver glitter sprinkled throughout it. The eyes are what gave away Kuroo’s identity, and though Daichi barely knows Kuroo, they’ve only worked together in a biology lab once, he knows that Kuroo’s friends with Oikawa, and he also knows that Kuroo has some of the nicest hazel eyes. Today those hazel eyes looking back at him look wet, and Daichi’s not entirely sure if it was from the rain. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, sorry to bother you, Sawamura-kun, but is your roommate home?” Kuroo’s voice shakes a bit, which is tugging at Daichi’s heartstrings. Is it from the cold? Is there something actually bothering Kuroo?
“My roommate? Oh, no! Oikawa went back home for the week because his sister gave birth.”
“Really? Shit, I thought he left tomorrow.”
“No… are you sure you’re okay?”
“Uh… c-can I come inside?”
“Sure.”
Now Daichi feels awkward. He barely knows Kuroo, so he’s quite unsure what to even say. They’re sitting across from each other at Daichi’s kitchen table, and Kuroo has one of Daichi’s towel’s wrapped around his shoulders as he tries to rub glitter out of his hair. Maybe he should start with that. “So… why are you covered in glitter?”
“It’s kind of embarrassing.”
“I won’t judge. It can’t be as embarrassing as anything Oikawa does. ”
“I was coming back from the library when it started raining, so I started running, and I ran straight into this girl who was carrying a giant bag full of arts and craft stuff, and her glitter got all over me. I now owe her seven bucks apparently.”
“Why were you at the library so late?”
“I went there to escape my own roommate. His girlfriend is spending the night, and that snake forgot to tell me. Then I forgot the library closes at 2am.”
“So what brings you here…”
“I figured Oikawa would let me crash on the couch, but since he’s not here… I can leave.”
“No, no! It’s fine! A friend of Oikawa, is a friend of mine…. Or at least that’s what he always tells me.” Daichi confessed, “It kind of looked like you were crying earlier, are you sure you’re okay?”
“Crying? My contacts are just a bit dry. Wow… i must have been quite the sight, huh.”
“Well, yeah! Just imagine if I was to come to your door at 3AM, seemingly crying, soaking wet, and covered with glitter!”
“Okay, you have a point… I would be concerned too.” Kuroo admitted, his cheeks tinting red.
“What?” Daichi questioned, wondering why Kuroo was suddenly red.
“Sorry, I uh... I was just thinking that you’d be pretty cute too.” It was Daichi’s turn to blush. Is this what happens at 3am?
“You’re just saying that.”
“No, I’m not. You are cute, Sawamura.”
Daichi’s face felt red hot now, he had to escape. “I think Oikawa has an extra lense case so you can remove those dry contacts. I’ll be right back!” Daichi fled to the bathroom, closing the door and leaning against it, trying to control his rapidly beating heart.

@huii-2d requested #31 for the nsfw prompt thing thats going around for kurodai... and though i didn’t reblog the post, i went ahead and fulfilled that ask. so here you go.
pairing: kurodai
warning: suggestive yes, but there’s actually no smut so.... it’s not complete nsfw
31. “Just watch it with me. Maybe it’ll give us some ideas.”
“What is that?” Daichi questioned, staring at the dvd in his boyfriend’s hands and wondering when Tetsurou bought it.
“It’s not mine.” Tetsurou defended first, “It’s Bokuto’s… but now that he’s going to be a married man, he’s getting rid of all of his bachelor stuff.”
“And he gave you,  a non-bachelor, …porn?”
“... Yes?”
“Put it away.”
“But Dai!”
“Away, Tetsurou.”
“Just watch it with me. Maybe it’ll give us some ideas.”
“We don’t need ideas!” Daichi pouted. He understands that Bokuto is one of Tetsurou’s best friends, so they probably talked about a lot of things, including boyfriends (or fiancé for Bokuto), and sex. He was just hoping that all those things were good. “We’re too young to be stale.”
“Oh! No! I’m not saying we need them! I’m just saying it also wouldn’t hurt us.” Daichi felt better about Tetsurou’s words, but he also still felt a bit pouty over it. “I’m serious, Dai… if you don’t want to watch with me, I’ll put it away.”
“No… it’s fine.” Maybe he should take the stick out of his ass. It’s just porn… and if Tetsurou learns anything, it’ll be to Daichi’s benefit in the end. It can’t be that bad right?
It was bad. Well, not entirely. The porn was just...well porn, but the bad acting is what got to Daichi. The scenario was about a pizza delivery and the customer didn’t have enough money, so the logical reasoning was to pay with sex. All the fake moans, overexaggerated movements and an extremely fake orgasm, Daichi knew he just wasn’t into it.  It was lame… and a waste of pizza. Did Tetsurou actually like this? “You and Bo get off on stuff like this?”
“We were all once young and naive.” Tetsurou defended, “Plus, haven’t you ever had a cute delivery boy?”
“No… have you?”
“Yes. Totally.”
“Recently?” Daichi questioned, eyebrow raising slightly.
“Uh… is this a trick question?”
“You can tell me, Tetsu.” Daichi teased, “Was it the delivery boy from last week?”
“Maybe…”
“Are you into delivery boys? Is that why Bokuto gave you this video?”
“N-no! No!”
“Do you want me to be the delivery boy?” Daichi was still teasing. He didn’t expect Tetsurou to start blushing.
“Well...actually…”
“Wait, you do??”
“No..but yes? It might be a fantasy of mine.” It was Daichi’s turn to blush, “Is that weird?”
“No,” Daichi was intrigued, “Tell me more.”
“I mean… we can make it a thing? Roleplay seems fun? I can be the delivery boy, delivering your favorite ramen, but you forgot your wallet at work, and didn’t realize it until it was too late.” Tetsurou shared, “You hadn’t eaten all day, so you really really want the ramen… I agree to give it to you...maybe even pay your fee, if you help me out.”
“And how do you want me to help you?”
“You can blow me?”
“All for ramen?”
“You really like ramen.”
“And then what? I give you a blowjob, get turned on, and just receive ramen?” Daichi questioned, “In the video...they went all the way…”
“If you want to go all the way… we can.”
“I mean… if i’m going to have sex for free ramen… I might as well aim for free ramen for a year.”
“Are you promising to be a good enough lay where I’d want to jeopardize my job and give you free ramen for a year?”
“I can be very convincing… I was once told by Shakira, that my hips don’t lie.”
“I think I’ll be the judge of that.” Tetsurou smiled, leaning into Daichi’s space and placing a quick peck against his lips, “Just let me get a hat, and a jacket, I’ll run to the store and get some cup noodles and we can go from there?”
“Sounds like a plan.”

soulmates
@stacysmash suggested soulmates au... and this is what i came up with...again, barely proofread.
~~~~~
There was a time when Daichi didn’t believe in soulmates. It seemed absurd that the universe was supposed to know what you needed in a partner before you knew what you needed.
There was a time Daichi thought he found his soul-mate in Ushijima Wakatoshi. They weren’t your typical couple, but they worked, and Daichi thought it was how it was supposed to be. Not perfect, but it worked, that was good enough for him. And then, Ushijima found his true soulmate in Tendou Satori, and Daichi thought he had pissed off the wrong person in his past life, because damn did that hurt. Daichi gave up on the belief in soulmates again after that (though he was genuinely happy that Ushijima found his).
Time had past, and like the saying goes, it healed Daichi’s wounds, and he was content. He dated freely, had the occasional one-night stand, and was going through life numbing the side of his heart that had hope that maybe he did have a soulmate somewhere out there. It became easier to ignore that side, to block out it’s erratic beating whenever a date went decently well and to not get his hopes up that maybe he found ‘the one’. Daichi became the master of his emotions, tricking his heart into believing what his brain said, and it always said ‘don’t get attached, soulmates don’t exisit’. And then he met Kuroo, and that all flew out the window.
It’s funny, maybe even a bit ironic, that he met Kuroo while they were on dates with other people.  Kuroo had been set up on a blind date by an old college friend, waiting for that date to arrive; while Daichi was avoiding his disaster of a date by hiding out at the bar. It started off with simple small talk, trying to get the bartender’s attention, failing at doing so and then chuckling about it with each other. Daichi didn’t like Kuroo based off of first impression (or at least, he thought at the time).
Kuroo was just some crafty— admittedly very handsome though he could use some hair styling tips— asshole who refused to pronounce Sawamura’s name as it was and instead as Sa’amura. It wasn’t until the next day when Daichi literally ran into Kuroo (they collided during Daichi’s morning jog—something Ushijima condition him to do), that Daichi felt the sparks. He still remembers vividly: the warm fuzzy butterflies fluttering in his heart at a rapid speed, feeling like he was going into cardiac arrest while simultaneously floating on cloud nine, all while witnessing the warm burning cheeks Kuroo was sporting, a telltale sign that Kuroo felt it too. Whatever it was.
Turns out, it was love.
To be honest, Daichi can’t even pinpoint the exact moment where he realized Kuroo was his soulmate… there were so many moments, that it was hard to say “that’s it! That’s the one!”. It could have been the incident during his morning run. It could have been their first kiss when Daichi saw fireworks going off behind his eyelids. It could have been their first fight, when Daichi told Kuroo to leave and never come back… and Kuroo instead didn’t listen to him. Maybe it was all the I love you’s that went unspoken for years because they just knew.
“What are you thinking about?” Kuroo asked, moving his head from where it was resting on Daichi’s lap while he thumbed through one of the scientific journals he had to read for work.
“Nothing…” Daichi lied, reaching out to ruffle Kuroo’s hair, and taking a second to admire the silver band on his left ring finger, one that was identical to the one on Kuroo’s left hand too.
“You know what I was thinking about?”
“No, what were you thinking about?”
“How lucky you are to have such a handsome, suave, intelligent husband like me.” Kuroo teased, sitting up with a smirk on his face. Daichi couldn’t help but chuckle, reaching out to cup his husband’s face.
“Wow… who did I piss off to be stuck with you?”
“The right person, apparently.” Kuroo answered, leaning forward to place a gentle kiss against Daichi’s lip. Daichi still saw fireworks.
There was a time where Daichi didn’t believe in soulmates… but now he does.
Note
Psst kurodai and pets.
sorry it took so long, i’m slowly trying to knock them out but time keeps getting away from me, lol.
Opening his eyes, the first thing Daichi noticed was his boyfriend, Kuroo.
Kuroo was lying on his stomach, face buried between two pillows with one arm holding the pillows in place, the other carelessly thrown over Daichi’s waist.
The second thing Daichi noticed was the mess of black that was Kuroo’s hair. However, the closer he looked, the clearer it became that not all of that dark hair belonged to Kuroo, but also to their pet cat, Haku.
Adopting a cat was not really in their plans, in fact, Kuroo wanted a dog. But then Wakatoshi and Satori’s cat had a litter of four. However, with the couple’s apartment having a two-pet-per-household policy, it left three out of four of those kittens in need of new living quarters. The runt of the litter, Haku, found that new home with Kuroo and Daichi.
Haku hates mackerel just about as much as Kuroo loves it, and he loves watermelon as a treat every blue moon. He prefers to take his naps in the kitchen sink, when he’s not cuddling with Daichi on the couch, or snuggling into Kuroo’s hair. Haku drools when Daichi and Kuroo come home from work, and pet him for five minutes as a greeting. Haku also likes to make himself comfortable on the kitchen counter when his owners are cooking, and occasionally attempts to steal a few bites of meat off their plates.
Haku has been the addition to their family that they never knew they needed, and they have since spoiled him rotten with love and affection.
Even now… just watching his two boys peacefully sleep, Daichi can’t help but reach out and stroke Haku’s tiny head gently. The cat stirred slightly, his tiny tongue poking out briefly to swipe against Daichi’s fingertips before nuzzling against them and settling back down for more rest. Daichi chuckled softly to himself, before changing targets. Grabbing hold of Kuroo’s hand that was still thrown over his waist, Daichi snuggled in closer to the embrace. The slight movement must have alerted Kuroo, because he turned his body, allowing Daichi a more comfortable snuggle. “Using me as a body pillow, huh?” Kuroo questioned, voice rough and deep. “Yeah… it’s about the only thing you’re useful for.” Daichi teased, flinching at the pinch Kuroo placed at his side. “Don’t start something you can’t finish.”“You’re right...” Kuroo chuckled, “Is Haku on my head again?”“Yes, don’t wake him.”“Ten more minutes?”“And then what?”“I’ll have to wake our precious cat, so I can show you what I am useful for.” Tetsurou suggested, his hand caressing any inch of Daichi’s skin that it could reach, leaving goosebumps. “Ten more minutes.” Daichi promised, laughing a bit when Haku let out a tiny mewl, as if agreeing they should all sleep longer.
could i suggest a 101 Dalmatians AU (for kurodai maybe)?
based off the 1996 film, because that’s what i know best. i barely proofread this btw.
“It’s only been a few hours, Daichi… you’re going to have to relax and let the police do their job.” Kuroo stated, trying his best to calm down his husband who had been pacing back and forth in their living room, calling all of their neighbors and friends. “A litter of 15 puppies don’t just get up and disappear out of an apartment! There’s something fishy going on, and I’m not going to stand around and just wait for the police.”“Do you even know where to start?”“Well…no.” Sawamura pouted, “It’s just suspicious, no? I mean… we go and take Howl and Sophie for their nightly walk with all 15 puppies sleeping soundly, come back thirty minutes later and they’re all gone. Someone had to know or be watching us.”“Let’s not just jump to conclusions, Dai.” Kuroo reprimanded, holding out his arms as he took a seat on the couch. Sawamura shuffled over, taking a seat and allowing Kuroo to wrap his arms around him. “We’ll find them. Everything will be okay.” Kuroo promised, and Sawamura melted into the embrace, letting the comfort from his love wash over him and relax his nerves.
The relaxation lasted for a total of two minutes... Their Dalmatians were getting restless too, especially Sophie, not being able to be with her newborn puppies. Their boy, Howl, was constantly barking and howling into the night, pacing in front of the front door. If this kept up, it would be a long night.
After about two hours of enduring restless dogs and a restless husband, Kuroo was at his wits end and suggested they all go on a walk again, and try to find the puppies. Sawamura quickly connected the leashes, and joined the dogs as they sprinted out the door and down the hall, trying to move as fast as they could outside. Kuroo struggled to keep up as he made sure they had their phones, and wallets, as well as locking up the apartment, something he was unsure if he did before their previous walk.
Sophie and Howl sniffed around, doing their best to latch onto any lingering scent from their litter, while Sawamura and Kuroo helplessly followed around. “This seems hopeless.” Sawamura complained, trying his hardest to remain positive, but the later into the night they dove, the less likely it seemed that they would find their puppies. “Let’s not give up yet. Look, it’s Ushijima and Tendou.” Kuroo pointed towards the entrance of a park not too far from their apartment, where their old friends from college were walking their beagle, Ponyo. “Ushijima! Tendou!” Kuroo called out to them, leading the way. “Good evening, Sawamura and Kuroo.” Ushijima greeted.“What brings you two out so late? Hmm?” Tendou questioned.“Our puppies were stolen… you haven’t heard or seen anything about that, have you?” Sawamura asked. “Stolen puppies?! No way! That’s so sad, Sawamura!” Tendou complained, “Wakatoshi-kun~ we have to help them find them!”“Yes, we will do whatever we can.” Ushijima agreed.
While Kuroo began to give Ushijima and Tendou the run down on what happened and how they discovered the missing puppies, it appeared like the dogs were having a conversation of their own, based on their whining and mewls. Then, Howl began to tug and pull at his leash, waiting for Sawamura’s attention. When he finally got it, Howl began running down a path, dragging his owner along with him. Everyone followed, calling out for the dog to stop.
When Howl finally did stop, it was at an abandoned warehouse. “Why did he bring us here?” Kuroo questioned, trying to catch his breath as he looked around. A small bark caught their attention, and Sawamura ran over to investigate. He opened the entrance, surprised by a sudden ambush of Dalmatian puppies, 15 of which belonged to him and Kuroo.“Congratulations! You found your puppies! Along with 80 others!” Tendou teased.“We should call the police, and alert them what we found. There has to be other owners missing their pets.” Ushijima informed out, pulling out his cell phone to do just that.“But what about the other 80-something dogs? What if they don’t have homes?” Sawamura questioned, picking up one of his many pups. “Or they can stay with us?” Kuroo suddenly suggested, shocking his husband and friends for sure.“You’re joking.” Sawamura accused.“You’re crazy!” Tendou exclaimed.“Maybe I am, but it sounds nice? We can move back to the countryside, raise all 100 or something dogs... it’s just a suggestion. We’re already in over our heads with 17 dogs, what’s another 84?”
look in the mirror, there go your hero
pairing: kurodai
summary:  After Nekomata’s unexpected passing, Tetsurou now has to earn the title as King of Nekoma. All he wants is for Nekoma to live in peace and prosper, but someone else has different plans.
words: 9k+
a/n: for kurodai week day 7: disney au
Chapter One ~Chapter Two~
“Kenma! Have you eaten? Probably not, huh?” Tetsurou asked as soon as he and Sawamura entered Kenma’s laboratory/sacred place. The younger boy, Kuroo’s brother, enjoyed being by himself, playing games from other countries and using Nekoma’s expansive supply of vibranium to invent and perfect technology. Tetsurou worried about him quite often, afraid that Kenma would lock himself in the room and never socialize.
He was partly correct. Kenma found friends in Yamamoto and Fukunaga, but that was mainly because they were his appointed guards, after a failed attempt to run away from home back when they were kids. But even then Kenma preferred being left alone for majority of the day. Tetsurou was used to getting up and dragging Kenma out of bed or out of the lab to do something fun, but now he would be a little too busy to do that. It also slightly bothered Tetsurou that Kenma did not even attempt coming to the cliffs, though he knew there had to be a good reason.
“I’ve been working on something,” Kenma admitted from where he was seated in the room, an oversized hoodie swallowing his form, “Sawamura-san showed concern about the safety of your suit.”
“No, I didn’t.” Sawamura quickly defended, “Yamamoto did.”
“Right…” Kenma stated, “I took it upon myself to redesign it.” Kenma got up from where he was seated and entered a code on a pin pad attached to the wall. A small compartment hidden in the wall opened up and he grabbed the black suit that was inside it. “I lined it with vibranium… so it can withstand more punches without injuring you. The vibranium will absorb the impact and if hit in the same spot, it will expel that same energy.”
“Sounds cool enough! Shall we test it out?”
turn off your phone
pairing: kurodai, kind of implied iwaoi
summary: kuroo sits in on one of sawamura’s choreo sessions.
a/n: it’s been a while since i wrote kurodai, huh? well... i was listening to one of my favorite jay park songs and was like “dance au. iwaizumi and daichi create it. kuroo drools.” and this baby was born. :) inspired by this video too.
words: 1000+
link to Ao3
Kuroo usually doesn’t sit in on Sawamura’s dance practices or classes. He’s usually not allowed. Sawamura gets shy about his skill, which Kuroo finds absurd, and bans him from seeing any of his dances until they’re already uploaded to their studio’s YouTube channel, which Kuroo finds unfair.
He’s quick to show Sawamura his latest projects, asking his opinions on the flow of his moves, if one seems to be awkwardly placed, if he hit the beat right… he welcomes any feedback Sawamura will give him. So when he was asked by Sawamura if he wanted to see what he’s been slaving away on, Kuroo jumped on the opportunity quickly.
This piece was a joint effort between Sawamura and Iwaizumi, and Kuroo was told that the song was in Korean. Sawamura never specified why, but Kuroo had a feeling Iwaizumi was trying to impress the new half-Korean, half-Japanese dancer from Busan they’ve just recruited. Oikawa was his name, and Kuroo was half-surprised when he found the other dancer sitting in on the dance practice too as he entered the room. “Hey Kuroo!” Sawamura greeted, chugging down some water as Iwaizumi played around with the speakers. Kuroo walked over, placing a hand on Sawamura’s shoulder and massaging gently.
“Thanks for finally letting me see something before the YouTube community does.”
“Anytime.” Sawamura laughs, “I’ll need your phone though.”
“Why?”
“Can’t have you trying to leak spoilers. This is an exclusive practice.”
Kuroo places a hand over his chest, feigning innocence, “Like I would ever do that to you.”
“You’ve done it to Bokuto…on multiple occasions. I don’t want to put it past you.”
“And here, I thought you loved me.”
“I do love you.” Sawamura admitted, making Kuroo’s head spin, they shared these words many times before but Kuroo still dies a little every time he hears them grace Sawamura’s lips, “But I also don’t trust you. Phone, now.” Sawamura held out his hand and Kuroo dug into his pocket, handing over the smartphone. “Thank you for your cooperation.” Sawamura smiled bright, leaning to place a quick kiss against the corner of Kuroo’s mouth, “You can get this back after, now please take a seat next to Oikawa, Kuroo-san.”
Kuroo made his way over to where Oikawa was sitting with his back against the full length mirrors. “Hey.” He greets.
“Tetsu-chan, welcome~”
“What brings you here?”
“Iwa-chan needs some feedback, and maybe I can help you understand the lyrics.” Oikawa teases, elbowing Kuroo in the side as he takes a seat on the ground.
“Why? Are they suggestive? Has your knight decked in Nike corrupted my precious Dai-chan?”
“Actually, I heard Dai-chan is the one who picked the song out of all the options presented to him. The song is called ‘Turn off Your Phone’. It’s about sex.” Oikawa answers bluntly, and Kuroo wills himself not to blush. It’s not like he’s a prude, also, he and Sawamura have an amazing and healthy life in the bedroom, but for some reason, just the idea of Sawamura dancing to such a sensual song does things to his heart.
“Are you to ready? We gotta get started for Mattsun comes to kick us out.” Iwaizumi explains, his thumb hovering on the play button on his phone.
“Yes, Iwa-chan!” Oikawa answers with a mock salute and Kuroo just nods, his eyes following where Sawamura stands in the center of the room. Iwaizumi pushes play, and Kuroo’s heart starts pounding with the beat, in both anticipation and anxiety.
They have different dance styles. Kuroo’s moves are more fluid and smooth, while Sawamura’s are more on point and hard. Sawamura has a lot of control over his body, easily able to hit each beat, sometimes it’s a subtle, but its always intentional. This dance, though a collaboration, is no exception.
From the beginning, Kuroo was entranced, watching Sawamura’s (and Iwaizumi’s) body hit every note, sometimes following the flow of the lyrics, every move sharp and precise. A little tease of Sawamura lifting his shirt and showing off a bit of abs and a trail of hair that disappeared into his sweats had Kuroo’s mouth filling up with drool.
Watching the dance, the song obviously coming to it’s chorus, based on the up in tempo and witnessing Sawamura do a pelvic thrust so in tune with the beat while perfectly transitioning into another dance move had Kuroo’s eyes widening, trying to figure out how a dance that is supposedly not completely thought out and perfected could look so technically perfect.
Sawamura wasn’t one to incorporate a lot of body rolls, that was more Kuroo’s specialty, but Kuroo was damn proud when Sawamura (and Iwaizumi) transitioned one dance move into a smooth body roll down on his knee.
The dance overall did not focus on body rolls, more on technical popping moves and smooth fancy footwork, but with the confidence Sawamura (and Iwaizumi) oozed, every bit of this choreography dripped sexiness. Kuroo didn’t understand the lyrics, but and he wondered if Sawamura googled a translation, trying to fit some moves and gestures with the meaning. Kuroo will have to ask later when he’s gotten Sawamura alone, maybe look up the lyrics himself, maybe they could even listen to the song in full together, and Kuroo can help him come up with more moves…
The dance ended too soon for Kuroo, he wanted more, and his eyes met Sawamura who was brimming with happiness from the way the first run through turned out. Kuroo was immediately ready for a repeat. “So what do you think?” Sawamura questioned, and Kuroo opened his mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came off his tongue.
“I think you broke him.” Oikawa teased, and maybe he was broken, but it was okay. He kind of wishes he had his phone, so he could film the moves and watch them on repeat until they are burned into his own memory. Maybe Sawamura knew he’d feel this way and confiscated the device for his own good.
“I think…” Kuroo began, “I’m going to have to see it again. Before I can effectively criticize you.” The all-knowing smirk Sawamura gave him, told Kuroo that he saw right through that lie.
the sawamura twins
pairing: kurodai
summary: kuroo finally gets to meet sawamura’s younger siblings.
warnings: now with the discovery of the sawamura siblings... i had to write something with them.
“Do I look dashing?” Tetsurou questioned, gesturing at the black beret he wore with his black sweater, jeans, and boots. Daichi looked him over quickly before turning back to lead the way from the train station to his parents’ home.
“You look like you just stepped out of Oikawa’s autumn lookbook video.”
“How’d you know about that video?”
“I’m the one who filmed it.”
“Oh right… and I did step out of Oikawa’s lookbook. He gave this hat to me because he thinks if your parents saw what my hair looked like they’d disapprove of me.”
“I doubt my parents or eight-year-old siblings care much about fashion, so yeah, you look ‘dashing’.”
“I just want to make a good first impression. Eiji and Ami have to like me in order for this relationship to move forward.”
“Really?” Daichi questioned, “That’s funny, because I thought you were in a relationship with me…therefore I have to like you in order for this relationship to work. Seeing as we’ve been in said relationship for… two years now, I think it’s working quite well.”
“You know what I mean! I just want your family’s approval, and that includes the twins.”
“Kuroo, relax.” Daichi stated, “Ami is going to say that you look pretty. Eiji is going to ask if you like baseball. That’s pretty much it! They will then proceed to ignore your presence for the entirety of the dinner, and then it’ll be over and we’ll be leaving.”
“…That doesn’t make me feel better at all.”
“Everything will be alright.” Daichi promised, grabbing a hold of Tetsurou’s hand. “They’re going to love you.”
Tetsurou highly doubted that the Sawamura twins loved him. From the moment he entered the Sawamura household, to the second he sat down at the dinner table, he feels like they have been glaring at him. True to Daichi’s word, when he was first introduced to the twins, Ami did say that he looked pretty, and Eiji did ask if he liked baseballbut he definitely wasn’t ignored after that. It was almost like he was on exhibition at a museum or something. Their cute little brown puppy dog eyes were boring into his soul, waiting for him to slip up so they could say ‘Aha!’.
“Dai-nii?” Ami spoke up after Tetsurou had finished an interrogation from Daichi’s mother about his coursework and the plans he had once he completed his chemistry degree program. The table turned to the little girl with her hair in cute braided pigtails. “Are you going to stay the night?”
“No, Ami-chan. Kuroo and I just came for dinner.”
“Can you at least stay and watch a movie with us?” Eiji then asked. The question was aimed towards Daichi, but they both were staring at Kuroo. Almost challenging him.
“You know, Sawamura, I don’t see why we can’t stay for one movie…” Tetsurou spoke up, sparing a glance at Daichi before looking back at the twins. They had good poker faces… he couldn’t quite pin whether that was the correct answer or not.
“I guess it’s settled.”
“That sounds lovely!” Mrs. Sawamura stated with a huge smile that reminded Tetsurou of Daichi’s. “Well… Daichi, come help me clean up dinner. Ami? Eiji? Why don’t you two show Tetsurou-kun to the living room and start picking out a movie?”
Tetsurou sat down on the couch and tried not to show his fear as the twins stood directly in front of him. “How long have you known our Dai-nii?” Ami asked, crossing her arms and standing straight, just like her oldest brother.
“Three years...?”
“How come we’re just now meeting you?” Eiji questioned next.
“I-I don’t know.”
“Do you love Dai-nii?”
“Y-yes.”
“Are you going to marry Dai-nii?”
“I don’t know? We’re both too young to plan that far ahead.”
“Okay, what are you two doing?” Daichi asked, coming to Tetsurou’s rescue.
“We’re just questioning Kuroo-san!” Ami responded honestly. “We have to make sure he’s worthy of your love.”
“That’s nice of you, but I’m the one who decides if he’s worthy or not.”
“But Dai-nii--” The twins started simultaneously and Daichi just shook his head in disapproval.
“No, buts. No more interrogating Kuroo, do you understand me?”
“Yes…” The twins agreed, but Tetsurou wasn’t buying their act.
As they all sat down to watch Moana, Tetsurou tried not to take it personal that the twins were adamant about sitting with Daichi. By sitting with Daichi, Tetsurou meant: Ami was on one side of Daichi snuggling close, while Eiji was cuddled on the opposite side of Daichi, leaving Tetsurou to sit on the other edge of the couch, by himself. Daichi glanced over at Tetsurou, giving him a small smile before turning back to the movie. Tetsurou tried to focus too, but when he glanced back at Daichi, the twins were looking at him instead.
Tetsurou looked around, wondering if there was something else they could possibly be looking at but found nothing. He turned his attention back to the twins, watching them stick their tongues at him. Tetsurou’s mouth dropped. The twins shared a devious smile with each other before snuggling even closer, acting as if they were sleepy. Daichi absent-mindedly wrapped his arms around his siblings, and Tetsurou couldn’t believe he was so jealous of eight-year-olds.
to be continued...
you’re like 9 to 5, i’m the weekend
pairing: kurodai, briefly mentions kuroo with a nameless girl
summary: Daichi shouldn’t be here. He shouldn’t be standing outside Kuroo’s dorm room, on a cold Saturday night with a few condoms tucked neatly into the back pocket of his jeans.
words: 700+
link to ao3
warning: angst, will cause you to feel
a/n: i’ve been in a funk and i wanted to write this. it’s quite short, something quick just to crank out some stress. that being said... this is heavily inspired by the song: the weekend by sza. and the lyrics are listed below in italics.
“Just tell you want me Monday,  And I’ll be at your door Ready to take her place”
This was wrong... This was on all levels wrong.
Daichi shouldn’t be here. He shouldn’t be standing outside Kuroo’s dorm room, on a cold Saturday night with a few condoms tucked neatly into the back pocket of his jeans. He should be back in his own dorm, enjoying a movie with Moniwa, or helping Matsukawa clean all his camera lenses. Hell, he should have been in home doing his coursework. But no.
Apparently, he was a masochist. Apparently, he allows himself to break his own heart every weekend.
Kuroo’s not a bad guy. He’s a nerd, who really enjoys science themed puns, and watching cat videos on YouTube. He owns a shit load of black hoodies, and still cannot tame his bedhead because he refuses to change his sleeping position. Kuroo is a guy that doesn’t know what he wants.
The thing about college relationships, for Daichi at least, they don’t seem like they are expected to last. Everyone is young, just trying to make it through the week. Trying to have fun and enjoy this little sliver of freedom before adulthood settles into their bones and sucks the life out of them. Before adulthood dulls your passions, your youth, your creativity.
The stress of college, and the stress of your professors and your parents asking you to figure your life out at such a young age is overwhelming at times. Some kids turn to alcohol, others to drugs, and then there’s kids like Daichi, who turn to messed up relationships.
This relationship, this thing Daichi has going on with Kuroo, is casual and probably not meant to last. It’s supposed to help them cope with the stress. To Kuroo, it does just that, it’s a simple hookup where Daichi comes over, and they have sex, taking the edge off and trying to relax a bit. Kuroo doesn’t need to invest any emotions into this relationship with Daichi. Kuroo already has someone he’s emotionally invested in. They’re not exclusive, but Daichi has seen the way Kuroo lights up whenever he was with her during the week. Daichi has seen the text messages, he’s seen the heart emojis and kissy faces.
Daichi doesn’t know her name. He doesn’t care to know her name. He does know, however, that this isn’t just sex to him. He’s emotionally invested in Kuroo. He has been for a while, every since he met Kuroo two years ago, way before they started this casual sex relationship. And it hurts. It hurts a lot.
When Kuroo kisses him, Daichi can’t help but wonder if he kisses her the same way. Does he cup her cheeks, with his thumb tracing her jawline, like he does with Daichi? Does Kuroo start with tiny pecks, whispering how he thought about her all day, like he does with Daichi? Does he leave open mouthed kisses against her neck and shoulders, like he does with Daichi?
Every Saturday after he goes over, does his business with Kuroo and then makes his way back to his own dorm, Daichi says it’ll be the last time. He tells himself he’ll cut this off, stop hurting himself, and just move on. But he always finds himself going right back on Sunday, kissing Kuroo right back, allowing Kuroo to touch him, touching Kuroo right back… allows himself to get wrapped up in the physical intimacy of it all.
Why? Because Daichi’s a fool. Because Daichi craves affection, and Kuroo is so willing to give it to him. And because for some reason, Daichi has hope. When the pain is numbing, and his heart is trying to mend itself back together, he likes to let his mind wander. He likes to indulge himself with the crazy idea that one day, Kuroo will want him on a Monday. And then Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. He likes to believe that one day Kuroo will want to be with him everyday, just like how he wants to be with Kuroo everyday. He’ll happily replace whatever her name is. Daichi thinks he can be enough to emotionally and physically satisfy Kuroo. Daichi knows he can be enough, he just doesn’t know how to get Kuroo to see that.
This is so wrong, but Daichi knocks on Kuroo’s door anyway. He waits patiently, the door slipping open, before Kuroo pulls him inside by the hand. Daichi closes his eyes, allowing Kuroo to kiss him first, and he tells himself this is the last time… even though he knows he’ll be right back the next day… and probably the next weekend.
i know that we’re going to be together
pairing: kurodai
summary: Kuroo remembers that he was once in love with a shapeshifting crow, but he doesn't remember a name or appearance after that shapeshifter's death. However, after meeting a Sawamura Daichi in the modern mortal world, he starts to have dreams of his past love, each dream cluing him to the past love. It's up to Kuroo to figure out what is going on and why these dreams are tied to Sawamura.
a/n: surprise! i’m your secret santa @kathwolfie!! i hope you enjoy this labor of love haha. i tried to go the fantasy route based on your wishlist, though it’s not following it to the T. i threw a little demon!kuroo in here, along with some shapeshifting-daichi, though both are not really explored much in the plot...anyway, i hope you like it!!!
AO3 link
There was this guy… Kuroo met him online, on one of those dating sites, and it really threw him for a loop. Kuroo never meant to sign up for a dating site, in fact, his mortal friends did it behind his back as a joke. A joke that wasn’t very funny, especially when he was emailed one day about a match to a Sawamura. Kuroo was intrigued, the Sawamura guy was cute (judging off a photo where Sawamura’s face was hidden behind sunglasses), but he planned on ignoring the notification and deleting his profile as soon as he could get to a computer.
But then Sawamura messaged him first.
The message was simple, Sawamura pretty much mimicked Kuroo’s position, his friends signed him up for this website as a joke, and he meant to delete it before he got matched with Kuroo. Kuroo laughed, relayed that no wonder why they were matched when their situation mirrored each others and it just went off from there. Kuroo did end up deleting his profile, but not until after exchanging phone numbers with Sawamura.
They started texting in a very casual manner, and organically those texts turned into phone calls which stayed friendly, though the feelings that were brewing within Kuroo suggested more.
Kuroo asked Sawamura out on a date, and right now, he was preparing for that date. It would also be the first time he’s met Sawamura in person, and he was nervous. What if it was like all the American TV shows that Oikawa loved to watch? What if Sawamura wasn’t who he said he was? What if their relationship was one that only thrived strictly over technology? Kuroo was worried, but he also was willing to give it a chance. For now.
Kuroo was a demon…an immortal one who’s lived for a very long time in the same human body that was frozen at age 21. He’s seen a lot of war, a lot of peace, a lot of different countries, and a lot of messed up shit. Dating was something he tended to stay away from. It wasn’t easy spending time with someone when you don’t age. It raised a lot of questions, and a lot of concern. But it’s not like Kuroo was lonely.
He had his other immortal friends: the Grand King Oikawa, Shimizu the witch, and Bokuto the Great Horned Owl.
Kuroo has only ever truly tried a relationship with one other person, and it was a great relationship. That person was a shape-shifter, a crow, and Kuroo has never loved anyone or anything as much as he loved his shape-shifter.
To be honest, Kuroo probably would never again love anyone or anything as much as he loved his shape-shifter. He doesn’t remember details… like a name or a face, but he does know that their relationship only ended because of the shape-shifter’s death. Kuroo can’t remember how the shape-shifter died…and why he didn’t do anything to prevent it. Which was surprising because Kuroo’s memory was impeccable. That period of his life was covered with fog, too hazy to look through, and Kuroo sometimes wonders if it was purposely forgotten.
Asking Sawamura out on a date, was to humor Kuroo. To tell himself, ‘yeah I got back out there’, though he had no intentions of really furthering a relationship with Sawamura. It was too risky. If his first love was forgotten so easily, who’s to say the same thing wouldn’t happen with Sawamura? He didn’t want to hurt Sawamura’s feelings, the guy deserved a pure love that wouldn’t be so easily tossed aside. He also wanted to honor his first love. Kuroo, might be a demon, someone who thrives off the darkness and evil of the world, but he himself wasn’t evil. He didn’t go out of his way to cause harm, he was cursed with this life, and he just wanted to live in peace. He’s had his fun when he was a newborn demon, kidnapping princesses and wrecking havoc over villages with the wave of his hand or a look through a crystal ball, but he’s since changed his ways. Oikawa granted him freedom once he came into power, and Kuroo quite liked his freedom.
Kuroo agreed to meet Sawamura at a cliché Italian restaurant because he’s seen enough mortal romance movies with Oikawa to know that pasta was somehow supposed to be romantic (Kuroo didn’t understand it… they were just noodles? What’s so romantic about that?). He arrived at the restaurant first, and requested a table. He got lucky and was placed off in a more secluded booth, giving him time to do a quick pep talk to calm his nerves. Kuroo didn’t understand why he was nervous, it’s not like this date was going to go anywhere.
He looked up and saw the host was heading back to his table, and he stood as Sawamura came into view.
Sawamura was definitely a lot better looking in person than Kuroo could have ever expected. He even smiled warmly as he came over to take a seat across from Kuroo. “Hi.”
“Hi.”
Kuroo was now at a loss. What do you say? “I’m glad you found the restaurant okay.”
“Yeah, it was pretty easy.” Sawamura admitted, looking down at the table and picking at the edges of the menu. If the conversation continued going this slow, it was going to be a long night…
Kuroo takes back his statement.
Once they ordered drinks and food, conversation came a lot easier. In fact, there was something really comforting about Sawamura’s presence, almost like he and Kuroo had known each other for years. “It’s weird… but I feel like I know you.” Kuroo told Sawamura.
“We have been talking to each other for a while now.”
“No… I feel like… we’ve met before? Like we were best friends before.”
“Maybe in a past life? If you believe in that stuff.” Sawamura smiled again, and Kuroo experienced some weird sense of déjà vu.
Kuroo wanted to say that he did believe in that ‘stuff’. He wanted to tell Sawamura that he’s witnessed that ‘stuff’…but instead he just settled for a simple: “Maybe.”
The date went really well, and it freaked Kuroo out when he asked if Sawamura would like to go on another date with him, and Sawamura agreed. Kuroo couldn’t put his finger on it, but there was something that was pulling him towards Sawamura. Some invisible string, or maybe it wasn’t invisible…maybe it was the red string of fate that Oikawa always preaches about. Kuroo didn’t understand why it had to be Sawamura though.
That night, when Kuroo went to bed, he had a dream. In this dream, he was lying in a field, the grass tickling his skin even through his robes, and he held hands with who he assumed was his first love. Kuroo couldn’t get a view of their face, but he made sure to study their hand. Every line, bump, and callous.
~~~
For their second date, Kuroo took Sawamura out on another cliché, a swan boat ride. Being stuck in the middle of a lake with Sawamura was actually quite fun. He learned about Sawamura’s fears, his ambitions, and material things that Sawamura felt would make him happier. Kuroo shared his own, making them up as he went along. He didn’t really have his own true goal or purpose. He also learned that Sawamura was about a month younger than him (in terms of his mortal storyline).
Again, Kuroo dreamt of his first love when he fell asleep for the night, and this time they were at a natural hot spring. The only view Kuroo really had of his lover was their shoulders, the rest of their body submerged under steaming water, with the chin up hidden from view. They talked about spending forever together… so when Kuroo woke up, he felt bitter because forever apparently doesn’t exist.
~~~
Soon after, it clicked for Kuroo…the more dates he went on with Sawamura, the more dreams he had about his first love, each time giving him a slight clue and a little more insight on who his first love could be. In all his years walking on the earth, he knew a sign when given one.
There was nothing more that Kuroo wanted than to honor his first love…and he also wanted to continue seeing Sawamura in hopes that it would continue helping his memory. However, a small part of him felt that he was cheating on his first love…that he was betraying their ideas of being together because he was spending that time with someone else.
After many dates (eleven to be exact), Sawamura kissed Kuroo for the first time. It wasn’t spectacular, but it wasn’t dull either. It was just right. A tiny peck that relayed Sawamura’s interest in Kuroo. A tiny peek of what was to come. A tiny bit of hope that maybe this could work out after all. Kuroo was excited after his date, he was happy. So when he lay down to sleep, he expected to be visited with sweet dreams of his first love.
He got the opposite.
Kuroo was running at full speed, cradling a tiny crow in his hands and against his chest. His hands were stained with blood, and he could feel tears leaving hot trails down his cheeks. “Shimizu! Shimizu!” He called out, running faster as he came up to a cave. “You must save him! Please!” He burst through the opening of the cave, not even startling the witch who was stirring her cauldron with her usual indifference. “Please help me! There has to be something you can do.”
“He has lost a lot of blood, you’re too late.”
“No! Impossible! Can’t you do something? He’s supposed to be immortal! We had a deal!”
“That deal was broken when you fell in love with him.”
“That’s stupid!”
“Kuroo…” Shimizu began, “I made him immortal with the condition that he would act as a familiar to you…that he’d be your friend in battle. A friend to help you channel your power. Not a lover.”
“I didn’t ask for these feelings! It just happened! I had no control over that!”
“My spells are very specific…if the terms are not kept, they do not work anymore.”
“Fine…take me instead.” Kuroo had offered, Shimizu stopped stirring and finally met eyes with him.
“Excuse me?”
“There must be a balance, correct? To save a life, one must be taken? We have a new deal! Save his life, and take mine!”
“I cannot do that. You are the Grand King’s right hand.”
“To hell with that!”
“It’s too late, Kuroo. He’s gone.” Shimizu said, surprisingly cold. Kuroo looked down at the small defenseless creature in his hands, watching it take it’s last struggling breath…
Kuroo woke up in a cold sweat, sitting up and gasping for air, as some memories came back full force. He tossed aside his covers, and got out of bed, running out of his room.
Kuroo threw out his hands, creating a portal in thin air, and he ran through it without hesitation. “Shimizu!” He called out, finding the witch reading a book in the same dingy cave of his dream.
“Kuroo, what a surprise.”
“I remember the night I lost my crow.” Kuroo stated, cutting the formalities and small talk.
“You do?”
“We had a deal! You wouldn’t take my life, to save his… so I asked you to take my memory of him away, in exchange for a lifetime without love. Ever since I met Sawamura in the mortal world, I’ve been having dreams…and each dream featured him. Why?!”
“The deal is broken… we’ve been through this before.”
“How? I’m not in love with anyone!”
“But you will fall in love again.”
“What?!” Kuroo refused to believe this. He already promised himself… he promised his shape-shifter. He wouldn’t fall in love again. He wouldn’t make that mistake, and break his own cold heart.
“Kuroo…do you remember your crow’s name?”
“Well…no… that and his face are the only two things that keep evading my memory.”
“I can’t help you until you figure out what it is you really want from me.” Shimizu stated simply.
“Bullshit! We had a deal!”
“Kuroo… I think you need to go back to your mortal world and figure out the answers to your questions, unasked or not, yourself. I can’t help you.”
“You never help me! You just agree to my deals and yet I still get the shit end of the stick!”
“Goodbye Kuroo.” With a simple wave of her hand, Shimizu caused Kuroo to fly back through the portal he created, and he fell back onto his bed letting out a cry of frustration.
~~~
He avoided Sawamura for a few days, and the dreams stopped immediately. Kuroo started to miss them… to miss Sawamura.
But he was afraid…which was saying something because he was a demon. A thing of nightmares, yet he was having his own nightmares and running from them. He couldn’t even begin to fathom what these dreams where trying to tell him.
Was his first love resenting him? Was his first love upset that he was moving on? But that wasn’t the case, right? Kuroo didn’t feel like he was in love with Sawamura…nor did he feel like he could grow to love Sawamura. It was all still really new, fresh, and Kuroo was just having fun. Trying to just live in the moment, really.
Dammit, he wanted answers! Answers that he apparently, had to figure out himself.
~~~
After a week of avoiding him, Kuroo received a text from Sawamura, asking if he’d like to get coffee and chat. He agreed, with all intentions of breaking whatever he had going on with Sawamura off, and moving on with his loveless life.
That all flew out the metaphorical window once he stepped into the coffee shop and saw Sawamura sitting at a table. He looked at peace, and Kuroo felt bad ruining that moment. He walked over, voicing a simple greeting, taking a seat across from him. “Kuroo… I don’t know what I did, but I’m sorry?” Sawamura broke the ice.
“I should be the one apologizing.” Kuroo began, “I was the one avoiding you.”
“But it had to be something I did, right?”
“No, Sawamura, you didn’t do anything.”
“Daichi.”
“What?” That name sounded familiar to Kuroo, and he didn’t understand why Sawamura suddenly blurted it out.
“You can call me Daichi. I want you to call me, Daichi.”
“…You can call me Tetsurou.” It would have been awkward if he didn’t reveal his given name too, though he hasn’t used it in so long. Once he became a demon, he only went by Kuroo… the only other person who ever called him by his given name (his human name) was his crow… Why was Sawamura so different?
“I like you, Tetsu, and I want to work this out, but I can’t do that…we can’t do that if you avoid me.”
“I… I do like you, Daichi, it’s just… I promised someone that I wouldn’t do this.”
“Do what?”
“Be in a relationship… be serious about dating someone.” Kuroo admitted, watching Daichi’s face carefully. The other had a good poker face up until now, Kuroo’s words sinking in and chipping away at his demeanor.
“So… though you like me… you don’t want to be with me?”
“It’s not that! I just… I’m not good at relationships. I don’t want to get hurt again, and you deserve everything. You don’t deserve someone like me.”
“Don’t you think that’s something for me to decide? I’d like to think that I can be in charge of my own decisions.” Sawamura paused, “Listen, Tetsurou… I’m not going to let you break up whatever this is just because you’re worried about disappointing a past love. If you don’t want to be with me… you’ll need a better reason than this. How about you sleep on that and tomorrow you can let me know whether or not we’re going to move forward.”
Kuroo hated ultimatums, but this seemed to be one that he couldn’t refuse. “Okay.”
~~~
Kuroo snapped his fingers, and a hole in the earth appeared. He just looked at it for a second, before slowly lowering himself down to the ground. There was a small wooden box that he planned to bury, and in the box was his crow. He was preparing to bury his first love.
As Kuroo slowly placed the box into the grave he dug up, he held back his own tears. “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. It’s all my fault that I even have to do this, and I regret putting you into this position. I regret not being there in time… I couldn’t save you.” Kuroo was crying, and it was getting harder to speak, harder to see the name he engraved on the box, “I’m going to miss you so much. I do miss you. I know that we’re going to be together… I just don’t know how...but I’ll figure something out. I won’t ever give up on you. I love you, Daichi.”
~~~
His first love’s name was Daichi, and that really screwed with Kuroo’s heart and brain.
What were the odds that the two relationships he’s partaken in where both with guys named Daichi? Very slim.
The fact that he could now remember his first love’s name was a plus, but Kuroo still couldn’t put a face to him… and it just confused him even more. How was he supposed to give Sawamura an answer today if he was just even more afraid than before? How was he supposed to be with Sawamura, when he told Daichi that he’d never give up on him? They couldn’t possibly be the same person…and Kuroo had to somehow differentiate the two along with his feelings for both.
~~~
It had been a year since Kuroo last seen Oikawa in person…but he needed his help. Oikawa was still doing his Grand Kingly duties… making sure there was a balance between black magic and white. They’ve both come a long way since the earlier days, and since then Oikawa has granted Kuroo a bit of freedom… which is why Kuroo avoided going back. He wasn’t ready to be a henchman again, and he needed to make that clear before he asked for any favors.
Upon arrival at the Grand Castle, he was greeted by knight Iwaizumi, a (once) human who sold his soul to the demon king to save his fellow warriors. Though, from Kuroo’s understanding, Iwaizumi doesn’t have it bad here, Iwaizumi actually likes being here. “I’m here to see the royal pain in the ass.” Kuroo informed, getting a light chuckle as a response.
“The throne room. Nice to see you again, Kuroo. You look…happy.”
“I do?” That surprised Kuroo, for sure, and Iwaizumi only nodded in response before gesturing to where Oikawa was. Kuroo didn’t say anything else, and made his way to the room he knew very well.
Typical Oikawa fashion, he was sitting all high and mighty on his throne, a smile gracing his face. “Kuroo~, long time no see!”
“My King.”
“Aw, you should really learn to keep the sarcasm out of your voice when addressing me. What brings you back? Ready for something new?”
“No, I’m not here to work for you, but I do need your help.”
“You know how we work, Kuroo. You help me, and I help you.”
“I have nothing to offer you.”
“But you do! Come back to the palace. Come live with us again.”
“Why? So you can slowly get me to do your dirty work?”
“I have other henchmen who are willing now.” Oikawa explained, “I don’t need you for that… believe it or not, I do miss your companionship? We’ve been through so much together, Kuroo. I was there when you became what you are now… I was there when we were both fighting for a chance to stay alive, even as immortals! We’ve had to fight together, and we’ve won that fight, and now we’re the ones on top! You’re a brother to me, and not just because the same demon turned us into what we are now…but because we were always there for each other.”
“You preach these words…so does that mean I am still a brother to you?”
“Of course.”
“So you’ll be there for me now? When I need you to be?”
Oikawa paused for a second, “I did totally set myself up for that, didn’t I?”
“You did.”
“What do you need from me?”
“Do you remember Daichi?”
“The cute crow shapeshifter? How could I forget him? You were so enamored; you would skip jobs just to hang out with him whenever he was around…that is until you had him become immortal.”
“I had him become immortal?”
“Yes!” With a wave of his hand, a chair appeared across from Oikawa. “Come sit!” Kuroo hesitated, but he did as the Grand King told him to. “You begged Shimizu to help you. You two made a deal.”
“What was the deal?”
“Shimizu would form a potion to make Sawamura immortal, if you used him as a familiar spirit of sorts. You two were such great friends, you wanted to keep him from aging past you. Once he turned 21, you asked for Shimizu’s help. He became immortal, and was always by your side. Your little crow. I loved when he’d nest in your hair in his animal form, it was quite the sight!”
“The deal was broken… I had a dream about that.”
“Right…you got a little too emotionally invested, but it was fine because he was emotionally invested too.”
“I asked to forget him… why would I do that? And why is my memory coming back now? After all these years?”
“You’ve done a lot of stupid things, Kuroo. But you never really forgot him… just the specifics.” Oikawa reminded, “As for why your memory is coming back… from my understanding you made another deal, and that deal is also broken.”
“I’m not falling in love ever again.”
“That’s a bold statement!” Oikawa’s eyes narrowed, “Why are you really here, Kuroo?”
“I met someone, and ever since I met that person…”
“Your memories have been coming back? Have you ever thought about how there might be a reason for that? How this new someone might be connected to your old crow? How you might be falling in love again?”
“They have the same name, Oikawa.”
“And that scares you? Ooh! The almighty demon is afraid. You used to be fearless, what happened?”
“I used to have a purpose. Right now, I’m just living because I can’t die. I have no need for my demonic power, there hasn’t been a need for quite some time. There’s been peace ever since you took control. I used to have someone to come home to… I don’t have that anymore, and I don’t know what I’m doing with my life.”
“Who’s to say this new Daichi wasn’t placed to help you with that?”
“I can’t do that to my old Daichi. I can’t just forget him and move on.”
“You don’t have to forget him! And I’m sure he wouldn’t want you to just waste forever alone.”
“I need your help to ask him that…”
“So that’s what you want from me.”
“I’m not powerful enough to visit the afterlife by myself… I need help.”
“I refuse.”
“But why?!”
“I made a deal of my own!” Oikawa admitted, “Shimizu and I… made a deal. I can’t go into specifics, I can't help you until you, on your own, remember your old Daichi’s face, because then you’ll get the answers and the happiness and peace that you seek.”
“You two meddled?”
“Yes…and before you get upset, you have to do your part. You want to know why you can’t remember your Daichi’s face? Because you don’t want to. You’re afraid to face him because you feel like you failed him. You feel like you were the cause of his death!”
“If I wouldn’t have fell in love with him, he would have kept his immortality. When he was attacked, he wouldn’t have gotten injured! Or maybe he still would have but he wouldn’t have died! How is that not my fault?!”
“Because we can’t help who we fall in love with and you know that but your head is too far up your own ass to admit that what happened was no one’s fault! Daichi got injured, yes! He died, yes! But it wasn’t by your own hand! He was at home, just relaxing, doing whatever he does in the comfort of his own home when a past evil came to attack you, but attacked him instead. You returned home, you found him injured, you tried to save him, but you couldn’t! It’s not your fault! I’m sure Daichi doesn’t think it is either. You’re acting like you regret loving him, which I know is untrue, and honestly, that would hurt him more! Stop putting the blame on yourself! Man up, and face the music! You didn’t fail him!” Oikawa held out his hand, and Kuroo stared it for a second, letting the words sink in and penetrate his thoughts.
Kuroo reached out and took hold of Oikawa’s hand, closing his eyes as he did so…
Kuroo entered a small cottage in the middle of the forest, “Daichi?” he called out. A small squawk sounded to his left and Kuroo looked in that direction. “Why are you in your crow form?”
“I was hiding.” Daichi explained as he morphed into his human form. Kuroo watched carefully, taking the time to look over Daichi’s features. The brown eyes, cropped hair, slightly chubby cheeks, and sharp jawline engraving themselves into his memory. “I couldn’t sense you.”
“Oh? Sorry!” Kuroo snapped his fingers, “I had Shimizu give me a cloaking spell so I couldn’t be sensed when I was hunting. Better?”
“Yeah.” Daichi stated walking over and wrapping his arms around Kuroo in a tight hug. “I’m glad you’re back.”
“I wasn’t gone for long.”
“Twenty-four hours is too long. You don’t take me with you anymore, I get worried, you know?”
“I just want to make sure you stay safe.”
“Yeah, but I’m supposed to be your familiar. It works both ways. I want to make sure you stay safe too.” Daichi looked up at Kuroo with a small pout, “How are we going to spend forever together if you go and fight battles without me? What if something was to happen to you?”
“Nothing will happen to me. It’s you I’m worried about. I just want to keep you safe, and sometimes that means you can’t come with me.”
“Don’t you think that’s for me to decide?”
~~~
Oikawa was right. Once Kuroo accepted that he wasn’t at fault for Daichi’s death, and he surrendered whatever was holding him back… he was able to regain his memory. His old Daichi… was his new Daichi. He didn’t know how, but he also wasn’t sure if it really mattered. His friends meddled, they have done something to resurrect his old love, and Kuroo was thankful. He promised to visit Oikawa again soon, before leaving the Grand Castle in a hurry.
He opened another portal, and requested for it to take him to Daichi.
The doorway opened up to some spacious living room and Kuroo carefully stepped out, the portal closing after him. “S-Sawamura?”
“Kuroo?” Kuroo turned to the source of the voice, looking at Sawamura as he stepped out of what he assumed was a bedroom, judging by how sleepy Sawamura appeared. “How—What are you doing here?” Kuroo stepped forward, pulling Sawamura into a tight embrace.
“I’m sorry.”
“Huh?”
“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting.” Kuroo pulled back a bit, so he could look Sawamura in the eyes. This Sawamura…and his crow Daichi were the same. Kuroo hadn’t lost his first love, in fact, his first love was standing right in front of him. “But how? And why now?”
“Fate, I guess? I was resurrected soon after you buried me. Shimizu gave me another chance at life, because there was an opening. When Iwaizumi sacrificed himself to save his warriors and work for Oikawa…apparently that was enough of a ‘death’ to warrant saving me, or at least that’s what Shimizu told me that Oikawa said. I think it's bullshit, but I’m not going to argue. I went back to our cottage to look for you…but you had already left. So I’ve spent all this time looking for you, and I finally found you, but it was hard. Shimizu explained to me about your deals, and how you tried to forget about me…and I was worried that maybe this would all be a sign that we weren’t meant to be together.” Sawamura, no, Daichi…began to smile. “You came back to me, though.”
“No…you came back to me. I told you…I knew we were going to be together, but honestly, I felt like it wasn’t going to be for quite sometime…maybe even in the afterlife. Thankfully that’s not the case.”
“I missed you so much, Tetsurou.”
“I missed you too, Daichi.” Kuroo admitted, leaning in to kiss his love. It felt great to have Daichi back into his life. “Is this real? Are you sure I’m not dreaming?” Daichi reached out, pinching Kuroo’s arm. “Hey!”
“Does that answer your question?”
“Yeah… it does.” Kuroo complained, as Daichi rubbed soothingly at the spot he just pinched, "I have another question though..."
"Yes?"
"You don't blame me, do you? For what happened to you?"
"No, I could never blame you, Tetsurou." Daichi admitted, reaching out to cup Kuroo's face. Kuroo reached out, touching Daichi's hand and keeping it in place. "My death was unfortunate, yes, but it happened for a reason. Maybe to just prove something to the both of us. Maybe to help us grow? I'm not entirely sure, but I don't blame you and I never did."
"I want you to come with me...wherever I go, you have to come along too! Eventually, when I move back to the Grand Castle, you come along...when I go back to working for Oikawa, you come along. I don't ever want you far away from me, okay?"
"That's all I ever wanted."
"I love you, Daichi...and fate/my friends have given us a second chance that I'm not going to waste."
"I love you too, Tetsurou."
Ok ok ok. "You always this quiet?" For kurodai please.
i’m not going to lie… my mind immediately went to smut…
but i pulled myself together, gained some self-control and here you go anon. :)
After sitting in silence for ten minutes, Kuroo asked, “You always this quiet?”, placing an arm around Sawamura as they sat on the balcony of their hotel suite, nursing bottles of beer. “Was it Nekomata or Naoi that told you not to ask questions you already know the answer to…?” Sawamura teased, nudging his head against Kuroo’s shoulder. Kuroo chuckled, tightening his grip and pulling Sawamura closer, allowing the shorter male to cuddle into the crook of his neck, “It was actually Kai and Yaku. Seriously though, what’s wrong?”Sawamura was silent for a bit more before saying, “We came all the way to Okinawa…for what?”“To support Moniwa and Ushijima’s big move?”“No, I mean… like what are we doing?”“You lost me.” Kuroo stated, though he had a pretty good idea of what Sawamura was trying to hint at. They had come all the way out to Okinawa to help Moniwa and Ushijima move into their new apartment, thanks to Moniwa scoring an amazing opportunity to study marine life at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. Helping out their friends wasn’t the problem, Kuroo knew that. The secret friends with benefit relationship that Kuroo and Sawamura had been partaking in for the past three months…was the problem. They had spent the whole day helping move furniture around before coming back and passing out at their hotel. Kuroo actually had his own room down the hall, but he found himself following Sawamura, and taking a nap next to him in Sawamura’s bed. Kuroo had woken from his nap alone, finding Sawamura quietly sitting out on this balcony with a six pack of beer, and he joined him. Which lead to where they are now.“I can’t keep doing this, Kuroo.” Sawamura admitted, sounding sad…?“Doing what?”“This. This secret relationship! Sleeping with you and acting like it’s just sex, when it doesn’t feel like that to me. It feels like more, and that’s scary, and I don’t want to lose you or your friendship, but I… I just can’t do this. I’m not strong enough, Kuroo.”“You don’t have to do this. We don’t have to do this. We can stop.”“I know, but I also know it’s not that easy? I don’t even remember the last time we’ve slept in separate beds. I know what makes you tick, what makes you laugh, what annoys you. I know how you like to be kissed, how you like to be touched… what am I supposed to do? Just forget all that? Just act like the past three months didn’t exist? That it meant nothing to me? To just continue being your best friend? To act like… I’m not in love with you?” Sawamura sounded so broken, and Kuroo looked down to see Sawamura staring at him, a frown on his face. “Sawamura…” Kuroo began, at a loss for words really. Sawamura took his moment of silence the wrong way, because he pulled himself away from Kuroo, curling into himself. Kuroo reached back out for him. “No, you don’t have to do any of that…because yes, we can stop this… we will stop this relationship, but we’ll also start a new one. I don’t want to lose you either, Sawamura. If you are willing to try out a real relationship with me… I’m willing too.”“You mean it?”“Yes. Totally.” Kuroo inhaled sharply, “I don’t think I can keep pretending that I’m not in love with you, either.” A huge weight was lifted off of his shoulders admitting those feelings, and Sawamura’s frown started to turn upside down. “Come here.” Kuroo requested, placing a hand under Sawamura’s chin to pull him into a kiss. He could feel Sawamura’s smile against his own lips, and he turned his head to deepen it. Sawamura was usually vocal, letting out little moans so Kuroo knew he was enjoying himself. Kuroo was missing those now. “Hey…you know you’re not always this quiet.”
there you go, and here i come
Kurodai Weekend Day 3: Crossover / Chosen AU
Summary: Daichi might have a crush on his lab partner. The feeling also might be mutual.
Additional Info: College AU, Baseball AU, Football AU, Slight Mutual Pining
Word Count: 3100+
Daichi loathed going to chemistry lab every Tuesday and Thursday for many reasons. One, because he was dumb enough to pick the 8 am lab. Two, because chemistry was not his strong suit. And three, because he might have a crush on his lab partner.
He’s not sure what made him fall in like for Kuroo. It could have been the science knowledge Kuroo had hidden behind his teasing words. It could have been strictly a physical attraction. It could have even been because of that one time they were working on a blood typing experiment and Kuroo explained everything step by step in layman’s terms because the professor was too confusing. Daichi’s not entirely sure. He just knows he has a crush, and it’s a problem.
In fact, his little crush fiasco was such an issue that it warranted a stress free night, and what’s more stress free than a baseball game? Daichi’s heard great things about his college’s baseball team. A new season for the sport was startling, and he was prepared to support them 100%. He was invited by his roommate Iwaizumi to the first game, and he agreed to be there, especially since Iwaizumi has been to plenty of his football games.
The day of the game, he arrived with his friends and fellow teammates Matsukawa and Ushijima and together the trio grabbed a seat in the stands. They were a bit early, watching the teams warm up a bit, and also watching the stands fill up with other students. “My first baseball game.” Matsukawa began, “I can’t believe I haven’t been to one before, especially when I know at least three of the regular players.” Matsukawa was referring to Iwaizumi, Oikawa and Kyoutani. Daichi knew Mattsun went to high school with the first baseman, the pitcher, and the catcher.
“Do you know anyone on the team Ushijima?” Daichi asked, and Ushijima slowly nodded his head.
“Semi Eita, the left fielder. He’s Tendou’s best friend.”
Daichi looked out at their school’s team, finding the one identified as Semi. “I also know the reserve pitcher, Azumane and the right fielder Tanaka. We went to high school together—oh no.” Daichi’s gaze fell upon his lean string bean of a lab partner, Kuroo.
“What?” Matsukawa asked, turning to follow Daichi’s gaze. “Do you know him too?”
“He’s my lab partner…”
“The one that Moniwa is convinced you have a crush on?” Ushijima questioned, causing Daichi to reach out to cover his mouth.
“Ssh! Someone might hear you!”
“He looks cute! And tall!” Matsukawa complimented, “The baseball uniform really suits him.”
“I’m surprised he got his hair to fit under that cap…” Daichi muttered, “Why did he have to play baseball out of all sports? I came to the game to forget that I have a crush on him.” Daichi pouted.
“Well… it’s not like he knows that you’re here.” Matsukawa pointed out.
“Yo Sawamura! Mattsun!” Iwaizumi called out, waving over at his friends from where he stood with his teammates, all the players just about to huddle together. With flushed cheeks, Daichi lifted his hand to wave back while Matsukawa started cackling. Azumane and Tanaka waved at him too, along with Iwaizumi’s boyfriend Oikawa. Daichi’s eyes immediately went to Kuroo, who looked surprised that he was there, but offered him a small smile anyway, nothing like his usual smirk, which confused Daichi.
"Well...now he does."
Daichi didn’t understand baseball rules all that much (he was the center midfielder for their school’s soccer team for a reason), he did know enough to appreciate how well his school’s team played. Iwaizumi seemed like a great captain, encouraging all his teammates and keeping Oikawa and Kyoutani from arguing on the field. Azumane did great whenever he was put in to relieve Oikawa, and Tanaka was just as energetic on the field as he was off it. The shortstop known as Yaku also seemed to have quite the chemistry with Kuroo, who played third baseman, and that second baseman Bokuto.
As the game continued on, and it was their university’s turn at bat, Daichi found himself cheering on everyone, going wild when Kyoutani hit a homerun, cheering for Iwaizumi when he was able to steal two bases off a single hit, and trying to cheer up Bokuto when he got an out, but was at least able to give Iwaizumi an opportunity to make it to third base. It was Kuroo’s turn at bat, and Daichi found himself chewing on his bottom lip, practically nervous for Kuroo.
Kuroo was definitely attractive as he took his stance, and prepared himself at bat, his fringe poking out from underneath his helmet, making Daichi practically drool. From his seat, he had the perfect vantage point of Kuroo’s back muscles, tensing as he adjusted his grip on his bat. “Keep staring like that, and we’ll soon be swimming in your drool.” Matsukawa teased, elbowing Daichi in the side.
Daichi ignored him, focusing as the opposing team’s pitcher threw the first pitch, Kuroo swinging his bat. “Strike!” The umpire called out, and Daichi pouted.
“Come on, Kuroo…” Daichi encouraged under his breath. He wasn’t sure if his crush was manifesting himself, or if he was rooting for Kuroo out of school spirit and pride. He figured it was probably a mixture of both, though it was easier to blame school spirit as the main cause.
“Relax, Sawamura. I’m sure your friend will do fine at bat.” Ushijima shared.
The words did little to relax him. Daichi couldn’t fully relax until the next pitch was served, and Kuroo was able to hit the ball with enough force to have the basemen scrambling, giving Kuroo plenty of time to make it to first base, and help Iwaizumi make it to home base, gaining a point.
“Yeah, listen to Wakatoshi. Your friend is doing fine, Daichi.”
Of course, their school won, and Daichi waited around with his friends, letting the stands clear out a bit as the baseball team huddled together with their coach. “Daichi! Come here, I want you to meet someone!” Iwaizumi called out from where he stood on the field with some teammates, while others started gathering equipment. Iwaizumi was chatting with Kyoutani at first, so he patted the young catcher on the shoulder, dismissing him, while Daichi walked over with Matsukawa and Ushijima in tow. Iwaizumi gestured to his teammate, “Daichi, this is—”
“Kuroo. We’ve met.” Daichi stated.
“Oh?” Iwaizumi questioned.
“We’re chemistry partners.” Kuroo explained, “Nice of you to come to our game, Sawamura.” Kuroo’s usual smirk was back on his face, and it relieved Daichi somehow.
“You played well!” Daichi complimented, turning to Iwaizumi as an afterthought, “Oh, you too.” Iwaizumi’s eyebrows furrowed.
“Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the game.” Kuroo remarked.
“Yes, I love baseball.” Daichi commented.
“Since when--”
“These are my football teammates, Matsukawa and Ushijima.” Daichi interrupted, pointing to the two males behind him.
“Nice to meet you.”
“Yes, same. It’s great to put a face to the infamous lab partner that we hear so many stories about.” Matsukawa stated, shaking Kuroo’s hand. Kuroo looked at Daichi, almost asking for an explanation, one that he wouldn’t be getting from Daichi’s mouth.
“So, any plans after such a long game?” Daichi asked.
“We’re all heading to the uni cafeteria for some grub.” Iwaizumi answered, he shared a quick look with Matsukawa, “Why don’t you three join us?”
~~~
When Tetsurou saw Sawamura sitting in the stands, cheering on their school team, he felt an immense amount of pressure. He’s had a crush on Sawamura since their first lab together, when they were paired as partners. Sawamura was attractive, intelligent (though Chemistry was not his expertise), and he didn’t take Kuroo’s teasing lying down. Sawamura wasn’t afraid to fight back, and Kuroo was smitten from Sawamura’s first jab at his hair after Kuroo made a wise crack on his height.
With Sawamura at the game, Tetsurou felt he had to work even harder to impress him, just in case the other was paying attention to his playing. He always gave his all through a game, but this was different. He wanted to appear cool, calm, collected, and skillful. When it was his turn to bat, and he got his first strike, it took a second for him to cool down. He knew everyone was watching him carefully, that Sawamura was watching him, and whether Sawamura liked him the same way or not, Tetsurou didn’t want to let him down. Or to let his team down. As he swung his bat, Tetsurou hoped that this hit would be enough to get him on a base, and get Iwaizumi home. Luckily, it worked out in his favor, and as Tetsurou caught his breath from his quick sprint to first base, he looked out to the stands, catching sight of Sawamura who was smiling and cheering hard for their team. Tetsurou allowed himself the indulgence that Sawamura was cheering for him, and not Iwaizumi making it to home base and securing a point for their team.
After the game, Tetsurou stood with Iwaizumi, complimenting Kyoutani on keeping his cool and playing as well as he always did. His heart stopped a bit when Iwaizumi suddenly called Sawamura over. “Daichi, this is—” Iwaizumi tried to introduce, and Tetsurou was not jealous that he could easily toss out Sawamura’s given name like that.
“Kuroo. We’ve met.” Sawamura stated.
“Oh?” Iwaizumi seemed surprised.
“We’re chemistry partners.” Tetsurou spoke up, turning his attention to Sawamura and hoping that his blush could pass as a result from the sport, “Nice of you to come to our game, Sawamura.” Tetsurou let his smirk fall on his face, a familiar one that always seemed to grace his mouth when he was face-to-face with Sawamura. He watched Sawamura carefully, who seemed to relax once he started talking to him, and Tetsurou wondered why he was tense in the first place. He tried to keep his expression neutral as Sawamura introduced him to Matsukawa and Ushijima, and when Iwaizumi invited Sawamura and crew to eat with them.
After putting up some equipment and changing out of their game clothes, the entire baseball team made their way to the cafeteria. Sawamura and his two teammates had waited patiently for them to finish up. Tetsurou watched as Matsukawa immediately made his way over to Oikawa and Iwaizumi, wedging himself between them to disrupt the hand holding they were about to partake in. He then watched Ushijima make his way over to Semi, and leaving Sawamura alone. First, Tetsurou allowed Sawamura a few minutes to talk to Azumane and Tanaka, thankful when Kamasaki came over to ask Azumane something while Tanaka slipped to Kyoutani’s side. When the coast was clear, and Bokuto was distracted by Inuoka, Tetsurou made his way over to Sawamura. “So…you seem to know a lot of my teammates.” Tetsurou tried to spark conversation.
“Iwaizumi is my roommate, and I went to high school with Asahi and Tanaka." Sawamura looked up at him, chuckling softly, "I didn’t know you played baseball.”
“Just like I didn’t know you played football…then again, sports don’t really come up in chemistry lab.”
“You have a point there.”
“So how come this is my first time seeing you at a game?” Tetsurou asked, not really knowing how to make conversation with Sawamura. It was a lot easier when they were in lab, any small thing could make them go on a tangent. Right now, Tetsurou was too conscious of Sawamura’s presence and it was starting to make him overthink everything.
“Last year, Iwaizumi and I were new roommates, so our relationship was very surface area. I knew he played baseball, he knew I played football, and that was that. Now, he’s definitely a close friend of mine, so coming to the game means a lot more. He’s been to a few of my own games, and now that the season is here, I can reciprocate.” Sawamura rambled on, but Tetsurou understood what he was saying. “You should come to my next one.”
“You mean it? I know nothing about football.”
“Yeah, I’d like for you to be there.” Tetsurou felt his stomach jump.
~~~
Spending time with the baseball team after their win was quite fun for Daichi. He also got to learn more about Kuroo and delve into a conversation that didn’t start based off a misunderstanding with school coursework. Thanks to Kuroo’s friends Yaku and Bokuto, he got to hear embarrassing stories from Kuroo’s middle school and high school days too.
Inviting Kuroo to his next football match was a spur of the moment decision, one that Daichi does not regret, however, with the match fast approaching, Daichi is getting nervous. It did not help that Kuroo also made sure to ask if Daichi was excited for the game every time they saw each other in their lab course.
So when the day finally arrived, Daichi was shaking with nerves, but was able to hide it well. As his team huddled up together on the sidelines, preparing for a quick pep talk from their coach, he did a quick visual search through the stands. Seeing Kuroo sitting along with Iwaizumi, Oikawa and Asahi made his heart stutter. He sent the group a quick wave of acknowledgment before focusing on his coach’s words. It was game time.
Being center midfielder meant that Daichi was constantly moving on the field, whether that be focusing on defense or playing striker and trying to score some long distance shots. Their opposing team was good, kept them on their toes, but it was hard to score a goal with Ushijima as the goalkeeper.
In the end they were superior with a score of 4:3. It was a rough game, and Daichi was exhausted by the end of it, but there was also a lot of adrenaline pumping through his veins.
He met up with his friends and teammates after changing out of his game kit. “Great game!” Iwaizumi called out.
“Thanks, my legs feel like jelly though.” Daichi teased as Asahi complimented him on the goal he was able to score. Daichi thanked him and then turned his attention to Kuroo. “How was your first football game?”
“Quite entertaining.” Kuroo admitted, “Though there were a few moments when I felt like you all weren’t getting anywhere after stealing the ball back and forth from each other for five minutes.”
“That tends to happen a lot, actually.”
“Thanks for inviting me.”
“It’s no big deal…you’re welcome to come to the rest of them too.”
“And you’re welcome to come to get some ramen with us! Oikawa’s treat!” Matsukawa joined in, Oikawa protesting loudly in the back.
“Sure.” Kuroo agreed. “I’d love to.”
~~
As Tetsurou walked to the restaurant with Sawamura and their friends, he began to wonder what this meant for his friendship with Sawamura. Was Sawamura dropping hints that he liked Tetsurou more than a friend? Or did he invite all his friends to all the football matches? It was difficult. Tetsurou didn’t feel like he was Sawamura’s type of guy, though it’s not like he asked what Sawamura’s type actually was. He just wanted a clear picture, a definite ‘yes, I like you’ but he didn’t want to just straight up ask.
Tetsurou was used to others leading the progress of a relationship. He was confessed to and he either accepted or rejected the advances. It appears that he needed to be a bit more proactive with this relationship. It was just hard because they haven’t really had time to be alone…because lab doesn’t count. “You okay?” Sawamura questioned, nudging Kuroo with his shoulder.
“Huh? Yeah…yeah… I’m fine.”
“After this meal… do you want to walk home together?” The question definitely caught Tetsurou off guard, but this opportunity was presenting itself. He had to take it.
“Yeah…totally.”
The best way to block out the nerves was to absorb himself into the atmosphere, and it was pretty easy because the football team were a wild bunch and entertaining. Tetsurou could see comparisons in the team compared to his own team. Matsukawa, Moniwa, Ushijima and Sawamura made an odd quad but even Tetsurou could see how much they meant to each other and how all their personalities balanced out together. Tetsurou also found it amazing that Sawamura could polish off two steaming hot bowls of shoyu ramen and still have room for dessert.
They bid farewell to their friends as they all separated to make their way home. “Iwaizumi is heading home with Oikawa, which is partly why I asked you to walk with me.” Sawamura stated, breaking the comfortable silence that fell between them for the past few minutes.
“Partly?”
“Well, that and I did want to hang out with you.”
Tetsurou tried not to blush, and instead went with a different approach, “Can I ask you a question?”
“Sure.”
“Do you have a type?”
“Like for relationships?”
“Yeah.”
“Hmm… not really. I pay more attention to the personality of someone, and how well we can click. Plus attractiveness is pretty subjective, don’t you think?”
“You have a point there…”
“Do you have a type?”
“…Blondes.”
“Really??”
“No, I’m just kidding.” Tetsurou joked, “I like anyone I can vibe with.”
“I thought you were serious!” Sawamura stated. “I thought maybe you had a thing for Yaku-san or something.” He added on, seeming a bit disheartened?
“Me? No way! The blonde thing was seriously a joke…and I could never date Yakkun of all people… I’m not picky about hair color, though if I was forced to pick a preference I would say brunettes.”
“I may be biased, but that saying ‘blondes have more fun’? Complete bullshit.” Sawamura teased. They shared a laugh, and when Tetsurou looked up, he noticed they were a lot closer to Sawamura’s dorm building than he wanted to be at this moment.
“I like hanging out with you, Sawamura.”
“I like hanging out with you too.”
“We should do this more…like just the two of us.” Tetsurou hinted as they stopped at the front of the building. This would be their goodbye since Tetsurou lived in the building adjacent to Sawamura’s.
“That’d be great. You can text me when you’re free to do something.”
“Actually, I’m free tomorrow night.”
“I am too! Pick me up at six?”
“It’s a date!” Tetsurou said eagerly, before he realized what he actually said, his cheeks flushing bright. Sawamura’s face was a similar shade, and it was creeping down his neck.
“It’s a date… goodnight Kuroo.” Sawamura smiled before quickly entering the building. Tetsurou then promptly dropped down to bury his face into his knees, to hide the huge smile spreading on his face.
Daichi preferred low-key birthday celebrations. A simple dinner with his family was what he was used to, and what he enjoyed.
Daichi preferred low-key birthday celebrations. A simple dinner with his family was what he was used to, and what he enjoyed.
This birthday wasn’t that much different. He had gone home to Miyagi to celebrate the Christmas break with his family, and he was back in Tokyo a few days after. While in Miyagi, Daichi got to celebrate a bit early, his parents giving him a couple of presents and having a birthday dinner for him.
Thankfully, his friends didn’t want to make too big of a deal out of his birthday, though Moniwa and Oikawa did burst into his room, shoving a short stack of pancakes into his face and singing ‘happy birthday’ for him in the morning, with Daichi kindly thanking them before turning around and falling right back to sleep.
He didn’t bother getting out of bed until it was rounding four in the afternoon and his stomach was finally begging for food. He went to get ramen with his roommates, Oikawa’s treat, and Moniwa offered to buy him a sweet waffle for dessert. After, he said goodbye to his roommates and met up with his boyfriend at a nearby park.
When Kuroo asked if Daichi wanted a present, he answered with ‘no’. Kuroo didn’t really know how to argue with that, so he didn’t reply or try to pry a gift out of Daichi. Daichi didn’t expect a present either, though if he was being honest with himself…there was something he wanted from Kuroo…
Ever since their first time having sex, back in November on Kuroo's birthday, it definitely opened the door to a whole new side of their relationship. Daichi has bottomed, and he has topped, and he’s come to the conclusion that he quite likes bottoming for Kuroo.
Kuroo is quite an affectionate lover, and he loves to indulge Daichi, doing all that he can to make sure he feels good. Daichi would like to think that it’s an equal playing field, and hopes Kuroo enjoys himself just as much as Daichi does.
However, they’ve only done your standard missionary or doggy style position, and while the positions got the job done, Daichi has spent plenty of nights wondering what it’d be like to ride Kuroo.
It makes him blush thinking about it, but Daichi thinks it’ll also boost his confidence. He’s sure Kuroo would enjoy the view, and it’d probably be fun to toy with his boyfriend, and keep Kuroo’s hips pinned down with his weight. When doing the other positions, there wasn’t much of a view, or Daichi couldn't tease back as much as he desired to. Daichi wanted to watch Kuroo’s expressions, he wanted to visually see how much Kuroo enjoyed their coital bliss.
He walked the park with Kuroo, holding hands like lovesick teenagers, and sharing stories about the Christmas break they spent separately. They also shared their goals for the new year with each other as they made their way back to Kuroo’s dorm.
Daichi was nervous as he entered the tiny apartment, listening to Kuroo share how Bokuto was still visiting his family, meaning they were alone. Kuroo led the way to his bedroom, waiting until the door was closed and Daichi was pressed against it, before he leaned in and kissed him for the first time that day. “Happy birthday, Daichi.” Kuroo whispered against his lips, leaving Daichi weak-kneed. “What should I do to you tonight?”
The question knocked some sense into Daichi, “Actually…about that.”
“What’s up?” Kuroo asked, leaning back a bit, his arms coming up to cage Daichi in. Daichi started to nurse his bottom lip, reaching out to fiddle with the hem of Kuroo’s shirt.
“Can…we try something a little different tonight?”
“Like what?”
“I want to ride you.” Daichi spat it out, cheeks tinting pink as he searched Kuroo’s eyes for a hint of disapproval. Instead, Kuroo surged forward, his lips smacking against Daichi’s, and his tongue licking against the seam, begging for entrance. Daichi indulged Kuroo a bit, before pushing away, “I’m assuming you like that idea?” Daichi breathed out against Kuroo’s lips, the words coming out muffled because Kuroo was trying to smother him with more kisses.
“Love it.” Kuroo admitted, “But are you sure? It’s your birthday—”
“It’s what I want.” Daichi assured, “Dammit Tetsu, I want you.”
Kuroo has never tried to remove Daichi’s clothing as fast as he was trying now, “I think it is pretty obvious, but I missed you over break.”
“I missed you too.” Daichi commented, “Slow down though! We have all night.” Daichi chuckled as Kuroo tried to get him out of his hoodie, tangling Daichi in it instead.
“I know… I just. Has anyone every told you how hot you are?”
“Yes, you have… like every time we have sex.”
“I want to make sure you don’t forget it.” Kuroo teased, “Come on.” Kuroo pulled Daichi towards his bed, guiding him to have a seat.
Kissing Kuroo always left Daichi in a daze. He was constantly towing the line of having Kuroo too close, and not close enough. Kuroo’s lips were always surprisingly soft yet firm, his tongue always eager to explore.
Too bad breathing was a necessity, and Daichi had to pull back from kissing Kuroo to catch his breath. Somewhere between all the kissing, they both had been stripped down to their underwear. “Can you lie down for me?” Daichi asked.
“S-sure.” Kuroo agreed, scrambling backwards to lay on the bed, getting comfortable. Daichi crawled closer, hovering over Kuroo. “What do you have planned, Daichi?”
“Just relax.” Daichi requested, leaning down to place a trail of hot kisses across Kuroo’s collarbone, down his chest, and torso. He knew Kuroo was watching his every move intently, but he refused to meet Kuroo’s eye. Daichi slowly hooked his thumbs into the waistband of Kuroo’s boxers, pushing them down those ridiculously long legs. Once the fabric was wrapped around Kuroo’s ankles, Kuroo kicked them off.
Daichi placed a feather light kiss against the head of Kuroo’s hardening cock, before darting his tongue out to lick where he just kissed. Kuroo’s eyes shut tight, focusing on the pleasure, his ears turning red. Daichi wrapped his hand around Kuroo’s length, stroking while twisting his wrist slightly, just the way Kuroo liked. Kuroo let out a soft groan as Daichi leaned forward, taking the head into his mouth and sucking lightly.
Daichi was not good at blowjobs, but he was slowly getting better. He focused all his attention on the head of Kuroo’s cock, running his tongue around the slit as his hands worked overtime, one stroking Kuroo to complete hardness, with the other hand fondling Kuroo’s balls. Daichi knew he was doing something right, small pants and moans kept spilling from Kuroo’s lips giving it away, though the small bit of precum coating Daichi’s tongue caught him by surprise. “Dai—” Kuroo began, “I think that’s enough.” Daichi abandoned his work and slowly crawled up, settling himself down onto Kuroo’s lap.
“Fuck…is this really happening?” Kuroo asked, watching as Daichi removed his own boxers. Daichi was hard himself, and he reached down stroking lightly to let some of the edge off.
“You okay down there?” Daichi teased, reaching over to the side, and rummaging through Kuroo’s drawer for some lube and condoms, letting them fall beside him on the bed. He made quick work of getting some lube onto his hand, spreading it over his fingers and warming it up. Kuroo’s gaze was filled with lust and hunger, his hands hovering over Daichi’s thighs as if he was afraid to touch them. Daichi chuckled to himself, leaning down to place a peck on the corner of Kuroo’s mouth.
Then Daichi sat up straight, reaching back to rub at his entrance with lubed up fingers, he shut his eyes, letting his mouth fall open in a silent cry as he pressed his forefinger past the first ring of muscle. “Do you need some help?” Kuroo questioned, watching Daichi carefully.
“No, I’m fine.” Daichi’s breath hitched, as he slowly worked in a second finger to help stretch and prepare. Kuroo swallowed some lump in his throat, his hands still hovering over Daichi’s body. “You’re allowed to touch me, Tetsu.” Kuroo’s hands went straight to Daichi’s thighs, sliding them up the smooth skin and towards his hips. Daichi tried not to get too distracted, focusing on the work his own fingers were doing as Kuroo’s made their way to his chest.
Kuroo ran his hands across Daichi’s chest, brushing past his nipples, and making Daichi shiver at the touch. Daichi looked down, catching Kuroo’s eye. He expected Kuroo to play with his nipples, but instead Kuroo’s hands went back to his hips, gliding across the skin and going back to knead his ass. “Do you mind?” Kuroo asked, reaching up to press a finger to Daichi’s lips. Daichi kept eye contact with Kuroo as he let the digit slip into his mouth, his tongue sliding over it and sucking. “Thank you.” Kuroo stated, removing it from Daichi’s mouth. Daichi was slightly confused, but it all made sense as he found Kuroo’s finger sliding between his cheeks to enter his hole with his own two fingers. They were a touch out of sync with their movements, but it did its purpose. Daichi slid his own fingers out, grabbing Kuroo by the wrist and placing Kuroo’s arm by his side.
Daichi reached for the condom wrapper, ripping it open with his teeth and sliding it onto Kuroo’s erection. He then lifted himself up onto his knees, grabbing Kuroo at the base. Daichi looked over Kuroo’s face, Kuroo’s eyes were too busy watching as Daichi slowly lowered himself on his cock. Daichi leaned forward a bit, resting his hands on Kuroo’s torso for leverage as he rocked his hips back onto his lover, Kuroo's eyes darting to his face. Kuroo felt full inside of Daichi, and the warmth spreading throughout Daichi had his face turning a bit pink.
This is what Daichi wanted. To see Kuroo just lie there, eyes darting from the view of his cock entering Daichi’s ass, to Daichi’s face, watching the pleasure dance across his expressions. Daichi moved slow, using his hips and weight to keep Kuroo down and grinding down to the best of his abilities, setting a friction that wouldn’t do much to get them off, but still felt good.
Kuroo was starting to look a bit desperate, he gripped at Daichi’s hips, wanting to help Daichi move at the pace more suitable to get him off, but he didn’t try anything. Daichi reached out, removing Kuroo’s hands from his hips and placing them on his chest. He guided Kuroo to rub soothing circles over his nipples, mimicking the action with his hips as he rocked against Kuroo. “Fuck, Daichi…you’re so amazing.”
“You’re amazing too.” Daichi moaned as Kuroo pinched his nipples, rubbing the nub between his fingers, “Shit, you feel so good.”
“I can make you feel better. Let me help you.” Kuroo requested, sitting up and placing kisses against Daichi’s shoulder. “You’re killing me here, Dai.”
Daichi placed his hands on Kuroo’s shoulder, moving his knees closer to Kuroo’s sides, and lifting up so only the tip of Kuroo was inside of him. “What do you mean?”
“Daichi, come on… please.”
“Please what?”
“You know what I want. Don’t make me beg.” Kuroo pouted, eyes darting down quickly at where Daichi was refusing him pleasure, before matching Daichi’s gaze again. Kuroo’s tongue darted out, wetting his lips and Daichi’s eyes flickered to the movement. “If you continue doing what you’re doing…we will be here all night.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” Daichi countered. His knees were starting to feel a bit tingly from keeping himself up for so long, but toying with Kuroo was too much fun, even though Kuroo felt the opposite right now.
“Yeah, but…” Kuroo’s hands smoothed down Daichi’s back, one coming to cup his ass again, while the other went to the base of his own cock, removing the tip from Daichi’s ass in favor of rubbing against it. “I’d rather spend the night getting you off multiple times, not spend the entire night reaching for one orgasm.” Daichi pressed back against Kuroo’s cock, the head slipping right back into place. Daichi then leaned forward, placing kisses down Kuroo’s neck, nibbling at the juncture between neck and shoulder.
“Would you even be able to keep up?” Daichi whispered hotly into Kuroo’s ear, his teeth grazing against the earlobe. Kuroo responded by bucking his hips up, Daichi falling all the way onto his length. Daichi’s mouth dropped open, a rush of air leaving him.
“I’m more worried about you keeping up with me.” Kuroo smirked. Daichi pushed Kuroo down, Kuroo’s back hitting the mattress.
“Is that a challenge?” Daichi asked, pulling off of Kuroo and sinking back down in the same breath.
“It depends… are you up for it?” Kuroo responded, lifting his hips off the bed to grind up into Daichi, searching for his prostate, which Daichi was avoiding on purpose.
“You’re on, Tetsurou.” Daichi confirmed, switching up the angle and leaning back, his hands bracing himself on Kuroo’s thighs, keeping Kuroo still.
Daichi kept his eyes on Kuroo, watching his expressions morph and display how much Daichi’s movements affected him. Daichi tried to keep his moans at bay, focusing on making this good for Kuroo. But... Kuroo must have caught on to Daichi’s intentions because he sat up again, his hands coming to wrap around Daichi’s torso. “Why are you focusing on me? It’s your birthday.” Kuroo complained, placing feather light kisses on Daichi’s collarbones, making his way down to mouth at Daichi’s chest.
“Because I want to. Like you said, it’s my birthday, I can do what I want.”
“You deserve to feel good too, Dai.” Kuroo purred, his tongue coming out to quickly swipe at one of Daichi’s nipples, causing Daichi to jerk and arch into Kuroo’s touch. The moment of vulnerability was enough for Kuroo to take a bit of control, gripping Daichi’s hips and pushing him down onto his cock, thrusting up desperately. Daichi’s hands slipped off of Kuroo’s thighs, and he wrapped them around Kuroo, clawing at his back as he planted his feet on the bed to work better with Kuroo’s thrusts.
When the head of Kuroo’s cock came in contact with his prostate, Daichi saw stars, his nails digging in to Kuroo’s skin as a form of leverage, a way to stay present. A moan erupted from his throat, and Kuroo’s grip on him tightened. Daichi brought his hands up to fist in Kuroo’s hair pulling him away from his chest, resting his forehead against Kuroo’s, forcing eye contact as he bounced on Kuroo’s lap. A small smile graced Kuroo’s lips, and he puckered up, trying to kiss him, but Daichi pulled back, refusing contact, and making Kuroo chuckle lightly.
A tingling sensation started to grow in the pit of Daichi’s stomach, so he let his hands run down Kuroo’s back, which was starting to dampen with sweat. “Tetsurou…” Daichi groaned, and Kuroo immediately got the message. He reached between them, wrapping a hand around Daichi’s cock, stroking him in tune with his thrusts. Daichi held on tight, keeping eye contact with Kuroo though both of their eyes were threatening to close.
“Just a bit more, Daichi.” Kuroo growled, the hand that wasn’t stroking away glued itself to Daichi’s hips, angling him just right.
“I don’t think I can wait for you.” Daichi admitted. The heat in stomach was unbearably hot, the feel of Kuroo’s hand and his cock almost becoming too much, while watching Kuroo’s face was becoming harder to do. Daichi wanted to close his eyes and just drown in the pleasure, but he also wanted to watch Kuroo lose himself just as much.
“You don’t have to wait for me, I got you.” Kuroo said, and Daichi surged forward to kiss Kuroo as he came. His body trembled, painting both his and Kuroo’s stomach with white, as he lost himself. Kuroo wrapped both arms around Daichi, pulling him even closer. Daichi was tired, his thighs screaming for a break, but he pushed the discomfort in the muscles aside and focused on Kuroo again. He threw his hips back, matching Kuroo’s thrusts, Kuroo’s hands digging into his hips as he thrust up once more before stilling, and spilling into the condom, Daichi’s name coming from his lips. Daichi held Kuroo tightly through his orgasm, reciprocating what Kuroo had done for him.
“I got you.” Daichi mimicked, accepting the hungry open mouthed kisses Kuroo placed on his neck as he started to come down from his high.
“I like this position, makes it easier to cuddle afterwards.” Kuroo admitted, easing out of Daichi to remove the soiled condom. Kuroo tied it up and tossed it in the trash bin, as Daichi settled into his lap again.
“You’re turning into a sap.”
“This sap got you off first, proving that you might need to work a bit harder on keeping up with me.” Kuroo teased, and Daichi’s eyes narrowed.
“The night is still young. This game isn’t over.” Daichi promised, a smirk forming on his face.
"You're on, Daichi."
“Why can’t we get a pig?”
pairing: kurodai
inspired by this photo
warnings: none
Walking the streets with Sawamura, the last thing Tetsurou expected to find was a pig.
No, it wasn’t an insult for a person, or a jab at Sawamura’s appetite. There was seriously a pig, wearing a patterned coat and leashed to a wall, sniffing away at some cherry blossom petals littering the ground. “So cute!” Were the first words out of Sawamura’s mouth before dropping down into a crouch to look closely at the creature.
That was five minutes ago. Tetsurou has been standing off to the side, watching Sawamura kneel down in front of this pig, talking to it like it was a dog, for five minutes. There was something endearing about hearing “Who’s a good piggy? You are! You’re a good piggy!” in Sawamura’s baritone voice as he gently petted the pig’s head. There was also something random about it? Like why was there this pig in the Tokyo streets? Was it a pet? Did it’s owner take it for a walk, and then left it leashed to this wall as they went to get something to drink? Why? Tetsurou wanted to know. He also wanted his boyfriend back.
“Are you not curious about…?” Tetsurou trailed off, gesturing to the pig as Sawamura turned his head to look up at him, still bent down to the pig’s level. “Who cares? It’s cute. I want one.” “You can’t get a pig, Sawamura.” “Why not? I want one and I’ll name it Babe. Just like this pig looks like a Babe.” “After the pig in that movie?” “Yeah.” Sawamura smiled, nice and bright. Tetsurou was momentarily stunned, but quickly regained his composure. “Alright, that’s enough, let’s go.” He reached out with his hand, waiting for Sawamura to take hold so he could help him to his feet. “But… what if it’s lonely?” “I’m sure ‘Babe’ is fine.” “Why can’t we get a pig?” “You don’t know how to take care of a pig. Our apartment doesn’t have enough space for a pig.” “We can move!” “We’ve only been there for a month.” “All the more reason why we should…” Tetsurou cut Sawamura off by cupping his face with his palms. “We can get a hamster. No pig.” “That’s no fun. What did pigs ever do to you?”
