Prompt: Kurodai - A and B are classmates and barely know each other until one night A shows up at 3am to B door, soaking wet, covered in glitter, crying and begging B to let them stay the night. What happened to A, how does B react and how does it progress from there? (Put random prompts in a generator and this one popped up first 😆)
i’ve restarted this like three times, and still don’t like the end result haha. here it goes anyway! thanks for sending a prompt in :)
Daichi is torn between amusement and anger. It’s 3AM and instead of being tucked away in bed, he’s standing in the doorway of his dorm room, staring at someone soaking wet yet covered in glitter. It’s weird, hence the amusement, but it’s 3AM, hence the anger. “Uh… Kuroo-san?” He calls out. It’s a little hard to recognize Kuroo with his hair down and dripping water on the floor while also reflecting the shitty hallway lights thanks to the silver glitter sprinkled throughout it. The eyes are what gave away Kuroo’s identity, and though Daichi barely knows Kuroo, they’ve only worked together in a biology lab once, he knows that Kuroo’s friends with Oikawa, and he also knows that Kuroo has some of the nicest hazel eyes. Today those hazel eyes looking back at him look wet, and Daichi’s not entirely sure if it was from the rain. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, sorry to bother you, Sawamura-kun, but is your roommate home?” Kuroo’s voice shakes a bit, which is tugging at Daichi’s heartstrings. Is it from the cold? Is there something actually bothering Kuroo?
“My roommate? Oh, no! Oikawa went back home for the week because his sister gave birth.”
“Really? Shit, I thought he left tomorrow.”
“No… are you sure you’re okay?”
“Uh… c-can I come inside?”
“Sure.”
Now Daichi feels awkward. He barely knows Kuroo, so he’s quite unsure what to even say. They’re sitting across from each other at Daichi’s kitchen table, and Kuroo has one of Daichi’s towel’s wrapped around his shoulders as he tries to rub glitter out of his hair. Maybe he should start with that. “So… why are you covered in glitter?”
“It’s kind of embarrassing.”
“I won’t judge. It can’t be as embarrassing as anything Oikawa does. ”
“I was coming back from the library when it started raining, so I started running, and I ran straight into this girl who was carrying a giant bag full of arts and craft stuff, and her glitter got all over me. I now owe her seven bucks apparently.”
“Why were you at the library so late?”
“I went there to escape my own roommate. His girlfriend is spending the night, and that snake forgot to tell me. Then I forgot the library closes at 2am.”
“So what brings you here…”
“I figured Oikawa would let me crash on the couch, but since he’s not here… I can leave.”
“No, no! It’s fine! A friend of Oikawa, is a friend of mine…. Or at least that’s what he always tells me.” Daichi confessed, “It kind of looked like you were crying earlier, are you sure you’re okay?”
“Crying? My contacts are just a bit dry. Wow… i must have been quite the sight, huh.”
“Well, yeah! Just imagine if I was to come to your door at 3AM, seemingly crying, soaking wet, and covered with glitter!”
“Okay, you have a point… I would be concerned too.” Kuroo admitted, his cheeks tinting red.
“What?” Daichi questioned, wondering why Kuroo was suddenly red.
“Sorry, I uh... I was just thinking that you’d be pretty cute too.” It was Daichi’s turn to blush. Is this what happens at 3am?
“You’re just saying that.”
“No, I’m not. You are cute, Sawamura.”
Daichi’s face felt red hot now, he had to escape. “I think Oikawa has an extra lense case so you can remove those dry contacts. I’ll be right back!” Daichi fled to the bathroom, closing the door and leaning against it, trying to control his rapidly beating heart.

soulmates
@stacysmash suggested soulmates au... and this is what i came up with...again, barely proofread.
~~~~~
There was a time when Daichi didn’t believe in soulmates. It seemed absurd that the universe was supposed to know what you needed in a partner before you knew what you needed.
There was a time Daichi thought he found his soul-mate in Ushijima Wakatoshi. They weren’t your typical couple, but they worked, and Daichi thought it was how it was supposed to be. Not perfect, but it worked, that was good enough for him. And then, Ushijima found his true soulmate in Tendou Satori, and Daichi thought he had pissed off the wrong person in his past life, because damn did that hurt. Daichi gave up on the belief in soulmates again after that (though he was genuinely happy that Ushijima found his).
Time had past, and like the saying goes, it healed Daichi’s wounds, and he was content. He dated freely, had the occasional one-night stand, and was going through life numbing the side of his heart that had hope that maybe he did have a soulmate somewhere out there. It became easier to ignore that side, to block out it’s erratic beating whenever a date went decently well and to not get his hopes up that maybe he found ‘the one’. Daichi became the master of his emotions, tricking his heart into believing what his brain said, and it always said ‘don’t get attached, soulmates don’t exisit’. And then he met Kuroo, and that all flew out the window.
It’s funny, maybe even a bit ironic, that he met Kuroo while they were on dates with other people. Kuroo had been set up on a blind date by an old college friend, waiting for that date to arrive; while Daichi was avoiding his disaster of a date by hiding out at the bar. It started off with simple small talk, trying to get the bartender’s attention, failing at doing so and then chuckling about it with each other. Daichi didn’t like Kuroo based off of first impression (or at least, he thought at the time).
Kuroo was just some crafty— admittedly very handsome though he could use some hair styling tips— asshole who refused to pronounce Sawamura’s name as it was and instead as Sa’amura. It wasn’t until the next day when Daichi literally ran into Kuroo (they collided during Daichi’s morning jog—something Ushijima condition him to do), that Daichi felt the sparks. He still remembers vividly: the warm fuzzy butterflies fluttering in his heart at a rapid speed, feeling like he was going into cardiac arrest while simultaneously floating on cloud nine, all while witnessing the warm burning cheeks Kuroo was sporting, a telltale sign that Kuroo felt it too. Whatever it was.
Turns out, it was love.
To be honest, Daichi can’t even pinpoint the exact moment where he realized Kuroo was his soulmate… there were so many moments, that it was hard to say “that’s it! That’s the one!”. It could have been the incident during his morning run. It could have been their first kiss when Daichi saw fireworks going off behind his eyelids. It could have been their first fight, when Daichi told Kuroo to leave and never come back… and Kuroo instead didn’t listen to him. Maybe it was all the I love you’s that went unspoken for years because they just knew.
“What are you thinking about?” Kuroo asked, moving his head from where it was resting on Daichi’s lap while he thumbed through one of the scientific journals he had to read for work.
“Nothing…” Daichi lied, reaching out to ruffle Kuroo’s hair, and taking a second to admire the silver band on his left ring finger, one that was identical to the one on Kuroo’s left hand too.
“You know what I was thinking about?”
“No, what were you thinking about?”
“How lucky you are to have such a handsome, suave, intelligent husband like me.” Kuroo teased, sitting up with a smirk on his face. Daichi couldn’t help but chuckle, reaching out to cup his husband’s face.
“Wow… who did I piss off to be stuck with you?”
“The right person, apparently.” Kuroo answered, leaning forward to place a gentle kiss against Daichi’s lip. Daichi still saw fireworks.
There was a time where Daichi didn’t believe in soulmates… but now he does.
Psst kurodai and pets.
sorry it took so long, i’m slowly trying to knock them out but time keeps getting away from me, lol.
Opening his eyes, the first thing Daichi noticed was his boyfriend, Kuroo.
Kuroo was lying on his stomach, face buried between two pillows with one arm holding the pillows in place, the other carelessly thrown over Daichi’s waist.
The second thing Daichi noticed was the mess of black that was Kuroo’s hair. However, the closer he looked, the clearer it became that not all of that dark hair belonged to Kuroo, but also to their pet cat, Haku.
Adopting a cat was not really in their plans, in fact, Kuroo wanted a dog. But then Wakatoshi and Satori’s cat had a litter of four. However, with the couple’s apartment having a two-pet-per-household policy, it left three out of four of those kittens in need of new living quarters. The runt of the litter, Haku, found that new home with Kuroo and Daichi.
Haku hates mackerel just about as much as Kuroo loves it, and he loves watermelon as a treat every blue moon. He prefers to take his naps in the kitchen sink, when he’s not cuddling with Daichi on the couch, or snuggling into Kuroo’s hair. Haku drools when Daichi and Kuroo come home from work, and pet him for five minutes as a greeting. Haku also likes to make himself comfortable on the kitchen counter when his owners are cooking, and occasionally attempts to steal a few bites of meat off their plates.
Haku has been the addition to their family that they never knew they needed, and they have since spoiled him rotten with love and affection.
Even now… just watching his two boys peacefully sleep, Daichi can’t help but reach out and stroke Haku’s tiny head gently. The cat stirred slightly, his tiny tongue poking out briefly to swipe against Daichi’s fingertips before nuzzling against them and settling back down for more rest. Daichi chuckled softly to himself, before changing targets. Grabbing hold of Kuroo’s hand that was still thrown over his waist, Daichi snuggled in closer to the embrace. The slight movement must have alerted Kuroo, because he turned his body, allowing Daichi a more comfortable snuggle. “Using me as a body pillow, huh?” Kuroo questioned, voice rough and deep. “Yeah… it’s about the only thing you’re useful for.” Daichi teased, flinching at the pinch Kuroo placed at his side. “Don’t start something you can’t finish.”“You’re right...” Kuroo chuckled, “Is Haku on my head again?”“Yes, don’t wake him.”“Ten more minutes?”“And then what?”“I’ll have to wake our precious cat, so I can show you what I am useful for.” Tetsurou suggested, his hand caressing any inch of Daichi’s skin that it could reach, leaving goosebumps. “Ten more minutes.” Daichi promised, laughing a bit when Haku let out a tiny mewl, as if agreeing they should all sleep longer.
coworkers
@bubblebuttbish suggested kurodai coworkers au and i came up with this...
“Today’s your first day at work, right?” Kuroo asked as he sat in the break room, scarfing down cup noodles. He was on the phone with his boyfriend, trying to find a productive way to spend his lunch break, while also just finding enjoyment in messing with him. “Yeah, I’m getting ready now.” Sawamura had told Kuroo through the receiver. “Oh ho?” Kuroo lowered his voice, “What are you wearing?” “Khakis… and you know there’s nothing sexy about the way you’re slurping noodles into my ear.” “You love it.” Kuroo accused, slurping obnoxiously on purpose. He could practically see Sawamura rolling his eyes. “I won’t see you until I get home... you’ll be sleeping by then probably.” “Just wake me up.” “You need rest.” “I can rest after my daily dose of Daichi cuddles.” “You’re so embarrassing.” Sawamura groaned, “Is there a real reason why you decided to call me? Or are you just being a nuisance?” Kuroo chuckled lightly, “I just wanted to congratulate my favorite business major on his first day at a new job.” “I appreciate the sentiment then… I don’t want to take up all of your lunch break, and I should get going now. I have to arrive early to speak to my supervisor and stuff.” “Yeah, I understand… I’ll see you later. Have a good day, okay?” “Okay, I’ll see you in a bit!” Sawamura stated, hanging up quickly before Kuroo could question him.
~
Sawamura was keeping a secret from Kuroo, and soon, that secret would be revealed. He’s still technically new in town, and it took a while to find a job once he moved here to finish his degree. Kuroo had mentioned once about how the hotel he was working at was looking to fill a few positions, but he probably never expected Sawamura to actually apply.
Sawamura applied, and got accepted, though he wasn’t in the same department as Kuroo, he was a front desk agent, while Kuroo worked in concierge. That did however mean they would be on the same floor, and their desks weren’t too far from each other.
He had a few concerns about working with Kuroo. He’s heard the horror stories about working with your partner, and how it could cause a lot of stress and strain on the relationship. But, Sawamura liked to think he and Kuroo wouldn’t have that problem. They had been long-distance for so long, up until Sawamura moved to Tokyo for school, and therefore moved in with Kuroo in a cute studio apartment not too far from their universities. They went from barely seeing each other, to living together and still only managing a few stolen moments at night after school and work. Maybe, this opportunity will help them get a squeeze a few more hours together, even if they were stuck working.
His first few hours at work were the standard orientation, introduction to the computer system, listening to all the rules, etc. “Sawamura, do you mind bringing these supplies to the concierge?” his supervisor suddenly asked, and Sawamura had been waiting for this moment. He grabbed the packs of pens and paper with their hotel’s logo branded on them, and headed towards the tiny desk tucked away into the corner of the lobby.
~
Kuroo was bored. He was so bored. There weren’t a lot of events going on, and he already set up dinner reservations for certain top of the list guests, so now he was stuck just waiting out for someone to request his services. He thought about texting Sawamura, see how his new job was going, but decided against it. He did wonder what was his precious boyfriend was up to… “Kuroo-san!” He looked up to see Mika, the hotel’s restaurant’s hostess, walking up to him. “Hi, Mika-chan. How’s your favorite snake doing?” “He’s fine. have you seen the new front desk agent?? Everyone’s saying he’s quite the eye candy.” “New front desk agent? No, can’t say I have.” Kuroo admitted, “I’ve been stuck behind this desk since I got back from lunch. I’m sure the guy is nice. What’s his name?” “I can’t remember… but I heard he’s your type!” “Mika… you do know that I’m taken, right?” “You are?? Suguru said that they broke up with you!” “….No… we live together and everything…” “Oh! Maybe I just misunderstood him! I’ll be back, I’m going to go call him and clear this up!” Mika waved goodbye, pulling out her cell phone and heading towards the entrance. Kuroo began to wonder about the new front desk agent, and who it could possibly be.
“I was told to bring these over to concierge?” Kuroo knew that voice. “D-Daichi??” “I told you I’d see you later.” Sawamura laughed. “I thought you were just being weird! Wow… Sa’amura-san, so you’re the new front desk agent that everyone’s admiring.” “Really?” “Yeah, Mika just came up to me and said so.” Kuroo smirked, “I think we’re going to have to tell everyone you’re a taken man, so they don’t get any ideas.” “Maybe…or…” “Or what?” “Maybe we can play along?” “What do you mean?” Kuroo questioned, watching Sawamura extend out a hand for a a handshake, “Hi, I’m Sawamura Daichi… the new front desk agent…and you are?” Sawamura questioned, lowering his voice slightly, his brown eyes shining with a mixture of mischief and flirtatiousness. “Kuroo Tetsurou, concierge.” “Nice to meet you! So... seeing as you’re concierge...does that mean you know your way around town?” “You can say that, yes.” “Would you be able to show me around then? I just moved here a couple of months ago, and haven’t had time to look around.” Sawamura leaned forward a bit, resting his elbow on Kuroo’s desk, and Kuroo took a quick glance around, a few eyes were on them. “That sounds like a great idea, Sa’amura-san~”
If youre still doing prompts maybe superhero teams (like power rangers or sailor moon) au with Kurodai?? Or any other pairing if you need a break from writing kurodai
(i never tire of kurdoai, friend. but here’s a power rangers au with the captains.)
based heavily on ‘day of the dumpster’ aka ep 1 of mighty morphin’ power rangers.
Being teleported to some strange lair is not how Kuroo expected his Friday night to turn out. One second, he was hanging out with his friends, getting ready to go get some grub after a hard day teaching martial arts, and the next they’re being knocked on their asses and appearing in a foreign place with a cyborg sporting some crazy two-toned hair hooting at them. “What was in that energy drink that Ushiwaka made for us, because I swear I’m seeing things.” Oikawa complained.
“Mineral water, organic raw honey, matcha powder, and lime juice. I made labels and put them on the bottles.” Ushijima answered, “You should read labels before you put something into your body. I am now worried about your grocery shopping habits, Oikawa.”
“Hey, what’s your name?” Kuroo asked the cyborg.
“What if he doesn’t understand us?” Moniwa worried.
“I’m Bokuto, and my boss asked me to bring you here!”
“And how did you manage to do that?” Sawamura asked.
“I pushed a few buttons, and teleported you all here.”
“Can we meet your boss, Bokuto-san?” Kuroo questioned.
“Welcome!” Some holographic face called out, appearing between two rods that generated what appeared to be lightning. Moniwa jumped, quickly hiding behind Ushijima for safety, while Kuroo took a step towards the face.
“You’re the boss?”
“Yes, my name is Kita, and I have asked for Bokuto to bring you here because I need help. Earth is under attack, and I believe you can help me save it.” Kita explained.
“Yeah? Why can’t you do that yourself?” Oikawa asked.
“I am unfortunately stuck in an inter-dimensional time warp.”
“Sounds unbelievable, but okay.” Sawamura stated, Oikawa agreeing with him.
“I understand it does seem unlikely, but it is very true. I can show you…” Kita’s face faded away and was instead replaced by a live feed of someone terrorizing planets with their henchmen. “This is Washijo, an evil sorcerer who is planing on controlling the universe, earth is his next stop, but you all can help prevent that from happening.”
“And how can we do that?” Kuroo wondered.
“You’ve been chosen to become an elite team, and will each be given great power derived from ancient dinosaurs. Bokuto?”
“Oh! YES!” Bokuto ran out of the room, only to quickly return, shoving necklaces into everyone’s hands.
“What are these?” Ushijima questioned, examining the huge pendant.
“The keys to your powers: your power morphers. When you need them, raise them to the sky, call the name of your dinosaur and you will be able to unlock and tap into it’s power, morphing you into… the Power Rangers. As Power Rangers, you will have immense fighting power, and will be able to control fighting machines called Dino Zords.” Kita explained. “Kuroo, you are bold, powerful and a natural leader, you were given the Tyrannosaurus, you are the red ranger. Sawamura, clever and brave, a little crafty as well, you are the black ranger, the Mastodon. Ushijima, fearless and agile, the yellow saber tooth tiger. Moniwa, patient and wise, you are the Triceratops, the blue ranger. And lastly, Oikawa, graceful and strong, you are the Pterodactyl, the pink ranger.”
“Pink?” Oikawa squealed, “I’m more of a teal, if we’re going towards pastels…”
Kita ignored him, “Together, if needed, you can all combine your zords and form the Megazord.”
“Look, Kita-san, we’re just some teens who just graduated high school and are trying to enjoy our summer break together before we all separate and go to different universities. It’s very nice of you to…bestow this honor on us, I think, but we will have to decline.” Sawamura spoke up, “This is all just too weird.”
“Yeah, Sawamura-kun is right.” Oikawa agreed.
“Let’s go…” Sawamura started to lead the way to what he assumed was an exit, Oikawa right on his heels, while Ushijima and Moniwa followed a little after. “Kuroo?”
“Huh?? Oh I’m coming.” Kuroo watched his friends leave, “Sorry for wasting your time, Kita-san.” Kuroo apologized before leaving as well.
“No need to apologize, just let the power protect you.” Kita called out, watching them carefully.
“But boss! We can’t just let them go!” Bokuto whined, “I’ll stop them! I’ll bring them back!”
“No… let them leave. They will use the morphers. Trust me.”
The five teenagers wandered out of the lair, and were then surrounded by mountains it seemed. “Maybe we should have had Bokuto teleport us back into town… I don’t even know where we are.” Oikawa complained after five minutes of mindless hiking.
“We’ll find a way home, don’t fret.” Ushijima stated. “Amazing how it is neither too hot nor too cold... and we are all breathing fine.”
“Yeah… if I could only get some cell reception, I’d be able to map us back home in no time!” Moniwa commented, tapping away at his phone screen. “Let’s walk a little further, away from these mountains and into more clear land?” Moniwa, Ushijima, and Oikawa started venturing out further, while Kuroo and Sawamura fell back a few steps to talk.
“Do you really believe all that stuff that Kita was spewing?” Sawamura questioned, “Can these pendants really just gift us power? Dinosaurs have been extinct for over 60 million years! How are they supposed to still give us power?”
“I don’t know, but I also don’t doubt it?”
“That’s your inner scientist talking, but use your common sense, Kuroo. We can’t just trust some random face that’s apparently stuck in a time warp? Who’s to say he’s not there for a reason?”
“Yeah, but you said it yourself, Sa’amura. We’re trying to enjoy our summer break together before we’re all separated… maybe this is our chance to do that and save the world.”
“This can end badly… we could all be in danger. You can get injured, Kuroo.” Sawamura pouted, reaching out to grab hold of Kuroo’s hand, “I don’t want to witness that possibly happening, especially if it could have been prevented.”
“Uh, guys!” Moniwa called out, catching Kuroo and Sawamura’s attention.
Up ahead, a group of strange creatures in silver were all starting to surround the teenagers. “What do we do?” Moniwa panicked.
“Remain calm for one.” Kuroo commanded, running over to his friends, “Sawamura, help me out?” Sawamura nodded, running over to help fight off two guys that were trying to sneak up on Ushijima, who was helping Moniwa relax.
“Moniwa, I know you are scared, Oikawa is afraid too-“
“Hey!” Oikawa called out, using his own skills in marital arts to fight off three creatures threatening to grab hold of him. “I’m not afraid!”
“-But we must fight them off in order to get home.” Ushijima finished up, “I will leave you here for a moment while I go help Kuroo and Sawamura.” Moniwa nodded his head, watching his friend retreat to join the others in fighting off this random enemy. He felt bad that he wasn’t good enough in martial arts to help them fend off the enemy…but maybe...
“K-Kuroo?” Moniwa called out, “I think now will be a good time to morph into the Power Rangers, don’t you think?”
“Yeah, there’s too many of them, and they keep appearing! Everyone, use your power morphers!” They all lifted their pendants to the sky, calling out the name of their dinosaurs, like Kita had instructed them, amazed when they transformed into the Power Rangers, wearing their own respective colors.
“I actually look quite good in pink.” Oikawa complimented himself.
Meanwhile, back in Kita’s lair, Bokuto was monitoring the rangers, getting signal from their first metamorphosis. “They’ve done it! You were right, boss!”
“Teleport them to Osaka! Washijo just unleashed one of his henchmen!”
“Of course! this is so exciting!” Bokuto hooted, clicking a few buttons, with his fist up in the air in victory.
“We’re teleporting? Again?” Oikawa pointed out, “But we haven’t even finished these guys off!”
“Where are we even going?” Moniwa was starting to panic again.
“To do our job and save the world.” Kuroo assumed.
