I don't recall if it was Pierre or Kendis, I think it was Kendis, but I remember saying one of them likes Peace Lily. Probably Kendis. She has them around.

Whenever I'm picking house/interior design images for Kendis and Pierre, I know I've said they have some overlaps in style enjoyment but one way I differentiate whom to give what picture - aside for color of walls and furniture - is the amount of plants. The images with more plants tend to go to Kendis.

Kendis is an early riser. It could arguably be because they don't sleep long/much ... but they are. They like to keep busy. This is why it always annoys me when the detective is slow to get up, lol. I just either ignore it or put it for the trauma.

I think Pierre starts his day - work days - with a toasted English muffin [probably buttered, at times with cream cheese] and coffee. Something tells me he is partial to the cinnamon raisins.

What HAVEN'T I shared for Kendis re: animals/pets? Did I mention they had a raccoon as a pet when they were nine, named superhero? I feel I have. So just in case, I will add that Kendis very much has 'how do I convey to wild rabbits that I am their friend'. She probably believes she would survive Jurassic Park through sheer will and love of animals alone. I feel when it comes to animals, their survivalist instinct tend to go ... bye. Not always, mind. But far more than it probably should.

Hm. I have said that the apartment cats like Pierre right? I think that is part of why he doesn't have so many plants. He doesn't want them to get sick, he wants them to have nap spaces, ... and it is less mess for him when they break something [Keeps their human parents from trying to pay him back]

hi mishka and nai. I have a serious question that sometimes bothers me when thinking about twc. I love this book series so much. Trust that I genuinely adore your writing, characterization and the world you created and wish you could give us more of it (I’m sure no one would mind a director’s cut equivalent of twc that’s essentially just lore dumps. Ppl would pay for that shit).

But there’s something about twc story that makes me pause when thinking about it. It’s about the vampires, and how little their vampirism is incorporated into their characters and the story (at least at the point we’re at). So far (as at the demo of B4), what we’ve gotten are glimpses of them (other than super strength and healing and that one scene where they’re having breakfast) and intense allusions to their darker sides which are the normal aspects of vampires in vampire lore (like their bloodlust and alternative hidden powers). Often times the vampires feel more human than vampire which makes it hard to remember or see them as supernatural beings that our mc’s are being involved with. So when other side characters talk about the dangers of dating a vampire while having special blood that brings out a pervasive nature in supernaturals, especially vampires, there isn’t really a strong sense of danger. It’s easier to brush off as we’ve only seen hints of these behaviors.

I wonder if this is on purpose? I know you have seven books planned for twc so I know it wouldn’t make sense to just jump to the more intense parts of the story immediately in the earlier books as it’ll probably leave very little to be told in the story later on. So this is just a confirmation, honestly. Are the more vampiric parts of the Li’s being kept behind closed doors for now so they can be introduced later in the story/books? I really really am curious, because sometimes it feels like something is missing when you look at their habits, behaviors, day-to-day life things that could be related to their vampirism and find that… they’re not there. Especially with Farah/Felix that’s born vampire so should be even more different than the rest iykwim. The Li’s weaknesses are pointed out and highlighted more than their strengths as vampires. Outside of their backstories, they don’t really feel like vampires, I’m sorry to say. More like humans that happen to be immortal.

I hope you don’t take offense at this, and I don’t intend to be offensive. I just genuinely wonder, and would hope you’d give a response to this.

Unit Bravo definitely haven't shown their vampire sides yet, that's for sure!

At the beginning, that was more because they didn't want to freak out the kid of their boss (Rebecca) while they were supposed to be protecting them, lol!

But I also want the reader to really get to know the characters without the vampire-ness so when it happens it has more of an…impact.

And, oh my, I think it will have quite the impact when it happens, hehe! ;D

It's kind of like that 'Oh crap, I totally forgot you were dangerous and a vampire' moment. But if they were more vampire all the time, then it wouldn't have that effect.

There's hints of it throughout Book Four—MC's blood is always there and affecting them, after all.

But yeah, you'll get to see more of it as the time comes, and their vampire-side is either more needed for stronger foes…or is forced out of them for other reasons…

Alright lay em on me - what theories do you have for book 4? I want the random small stuff and the big nasty painful theories (I’m sitting in hell after reading through the demo so fast LOL just been surviving on everyone’s theories 😭😭! So I would love to hear yours!)

Hello friend! Thank you for the ask! This demo has been consuming me - I need to go through every single choice (and there are sprinklings of lore hints - such as N saying to be careful justice doesn’t become revenge or A subtly reacting to people turning into ash). Of course, the Rebecca theories. And the scenes with the other Units

Theories!

* While we learn N’s backstory and the big bad thing, we won’t learn but instead will witness N’s Tier X power (more obvious than the b3 scene)

* Rebecca will be tempted by the idea of seeing Rook once more, or will be trapped/caught by Li-Sar and will see the hallucinations of Rook. Rebecca might not survive this book, but she might (probably will) - and if she does, she’ll finally accept the Agency’s offering of grief counseling

* We will learn a lot more about Rook (which has been mentioned, the idea placing it in the Bobby/Douglas route if you took Rebecca to the auction)

* This is my bestie’s idea! Not mine! But I love it so much that I am going to mention it. That Units Alpha/Delta/Victor will help in capturing Li-Sar (because of the mention of their strengths/weaknesses)

* The masquerade is going to be so extravagant and a big, bad thing is going to happen ->

* Big, bad might include: the UB LI might accidentally be very injured again by the MC or on purpose by Li-Sar. Solar magic will continue to put them in peril ->

* THERE WILL BE THE VAMPIRE BITE! To save the LI’s life

Those are my big theories. Things I would like to see:

* Eric telling Verda his big secret / Pierson being revealed to Tina

* The LT having an ending point (number one of three)

* Meeting X (ex-member)

* Getting closure with Rook

* Bobby about to bust the story WIDE OPEN / Douglas settling into being a supernatural

* The option for a steamy scene with Li-Sar

Those are what I have off the top of my head! As with books two and three, we will learn more about UB’s backstories (LI and BFF routes)

You know that Fox's brother's would ask what's his deal with liking the Organas. They're already using the "has a nice mustache and beard" with Cody and Obi-Wan and the "has a thing for authority figures" with Bly and Aayla, so they can't use those when they're making fun of Fox. That wouldn't be original. So they ask.

And Fox gives them the most weary look that a man can possibly give and just goes "oh you wanna actually know huh? You wanna actually know? It's because they're stable. They're the most stable people I've ever met in my entire life. I need to have something stable. I am not stable. I haven't been stable since I was born, which means that I've never been stable. Also they've been together over 20 years and they know exactly how this all works so I can for once just sit back and not think about anything, it's like taking a vacation which I don't get"

It's quiet. Bly opens his mouth to ask if that all means Fox is a bottom but Cody kicks him before he can say anything. They decide to let it be until the war is over and Fox has been to a therapist.

I'm going to straight up and say the only oc of mine worse than Andy for F would be Kai. I cannot concept how it would or could happen. Farah is so MUCH in Kai's opinion: too loud, too bright, too childish and impatient, too refusing to get the sign to back off [in his opinion]. And I think Farah would be less endeared with Kai's NINETEEN PERCENT of people skills at the start of book 3 [and I think it gets worse].

I don't recall what Sera said F's stats are but I bet the way Kai leans heavily blue, Farah leans heavily red.

farah would be the opposite! and it would just ... wertyujtres lmao. THOUGH I think the only MAYBE way it COULD happen would be because - funnily enough - because Mason. I could see Mason telling Kai to like ... chill. Kai isnt cruel but he is dismissive and at times too blunt; he prefers being straight-forward. If there options for him to shut down F in the story, he would take each and every one 34ertyrew /sobs. I think it would be a combination of Mason and ... I believe it was @/sewellheart who made a great point of the difference between Tina and F. Farah DOES know how to chill and can do her work, and is quite good at what she does. I think a combination of a few cases and the fact that his bff is basically her family ... might help.

Farah: You don't like me, do you? Kai: Nope. But I feel it would be a stretch to get there. Not IMPOSSIBLE [but nothing is impossible especially if i have a will is hall find a way! to do it icly too] But arguably a headache .... tho negl. I do think it could be cute. But I'm a sucker for cold/sunshine, grumpy/sunshine, stoic/sunshine and Kai is all three erew ROFLMAO.

And then from there it would go.

I put Kotsam and forgetting it's been a while since I played it lol. Like some dynamics are super clear and others ...

I think they could have fun. Kendis and Cyrus started on dislike, to wariness and respect, to being obsessed with each other ... no i joke. sorta. Leon for all his ego is infinitely chiller than the twins. I think Kendis and Leon would be catty but in a teasing, bratty kind of way -- they both like to have fun and they both are into fashion. I could see them being shopping buddies. The thing is Leon would have not to play games -- I remember what peaked Kendis' interest in Cyrus wa shim being like 'yo, dont get mixed up in cressy and leon's nonsense'. [wont go into the WHY, bc this aint about them. goodness! @ me lol.] And Kendis doesnt have patience for machinations; they dislike politics and double-speak and teen kendis is worst lol. Leon can also get pouty. So, if he can withstand them being like 'yo'.

I think they could maybe work. What Leon desires is someone on his side and Kendis is so that type and Kendis would want someone who sees them, who would choose her ... and I feel Leon can be that. If I remember his big romantic declaration correctly lol.

I can actually see them sorta like Astrid and Leon but .... less lol. And without the animosity. I could see them like fighting for the last dessert or something and squabbling and then even as theyre doing so theyre making room for the other.

Alana and Orion.

Orion would probably be the best person Alana has ever dated in her life. I think it could work just because Alana is VERY romantic and is a piner. lol. So, she could set for the long hall. He might prick at her heart with his seeming indifference but she has dealt through worst!! I think they would be so gross. LOL. I mean it's weird for me to think about, maybe i'd feel less so if I actually played it. And something tells me they would have foolish moments of misunderstandings made worse bc of the show ... but if they got past that? They would be so gross. Alana is very much DC's 'Cater 2 You' and Orion likes to dote. Just vomit. But in a way you cant fully be MAD about it bc its just lovely to see how into each other they are. Plus he would respect how diligent she is.

Rebecca really doesn't want to get involved in that side of the MC's life.

But she does has reservations about the MC and Nate/Nat.

Nate/Nat has some…secrets that make them more than they seem, and knowing those secrets, Rebecca really hopes N is going to admit them soon, or her lack of involvement may change...

I am curious, though, what their timeline was. How long it took to start dating, dating for nine months before the engagement, how long to get married, how long they’d been married before the detective was born, then two years and some months before his death. (Rebecca was promoted to the Chamber during this time, too)

It could have been a long time, it could have been a short time — but for them both, it was never ENOUGH time
