((Surprise! Maddie x Lukas

He had this habit, Lukas you see, where he just loved to sneak up on her and surprise her. But he never scared her, usually, sometimes he would hug her from behind and blow in her ear causing her to jump and nearly hit him. One time she actually did, but in her defense he had said ‘Boo’ and grabbed her as she strolled in the woods, him having hidden behind a tree. 

But, there were other surprises he gave her, these were his favourite, he would just turn to her randomly, and kiss her somewhere.

Sometimes during chores he’d turn to her and kiss her on the cheek with a soft ‘surprise’.

Sometimes before they fell asleep she’d feel him stir before he was suddenly hovering over her, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead and mumbling surprise before dragging her into his arms. 

Sometimes while Al was distracting Gil with one of his usual pranks or just being himself Lukas would quickly kiss the corner of her lips with a cheery ‘surprise!’

Sometimes when they were all having fun, and everyone was just enjoying themselves, he’d grab her around the waist and dip her in an extravagant display of his so called ‘charm’(in truth, she had to admit it was quite charming but she would never tell him, it’d just boost his already large ego) and purr out a surprise before pulling her into a kiss. 

Sometimes when she would get stressed and go into the woods for a breather, he’d follow her, finding her whenever she was crying and softly whisper surprise as he kissed the tear away, whispering sweet nothings to calm her down. 

Sometimes, he did all this just to get her blush, kissing her quickly whether it be her lips, her cheek, her forehead, her shoulder, all just to get her to squeak and blush in shock. 

As ‘horrible’ as this sounds Maddie actually enjoyed all these surprises, of course the kisses were nice, but she actually liked them for a different reason. Before they had gotten together, he liked to tease her, poking her sides and randomly grabbing her around the waist and going ‘Surprise!’ after he managed to successfully capture her. It was probably a result of this that one day she grabbed him by the collar, pulling him down into a kiss and mumbling a surprise against his lips, and saw him blush long before he ever made her blush with a kiss. So maybe his surprises were in a teasing revenge, maybe he surprised her for the same reason she enjoyed it; it was a wonderful memory of how they got together.

So sometimes, every once in a while, Maddie would gently cradle his face and pull him down into a kiss, whispering a sweet surprise every time.

She puts a lot of trust in Chun-Yan. Not only for taking her in and raising her, but for dealing with Sakura’s insecurities and not getting exasperated as many people have with her in the past. There is still a little part of her that isn't willing to give anyone her full trust and it is this flaw that stops her from moving past her childhood trauma.
