I personally believe once she leaves Evangeline she usually has her hair in a Tactical Braid(TM) most of the time, and starts growing it out a lot. Also, can I just say this? Cerulea looks kinda fine without makeup (Like a middle aged teacher, sorta), and Rodrig is just an older math teacher. Lazuline looks basically how I imagined Saphirra looks oddly weird yet attractive? IDK Teal looks like she has Down Syndrome. Not dunking on those with it, but I can definitely see it. I will also note that Down Syndrome affects intelligence. Maybe that's why she's kinda dumb? And Cyana looks like a fucking 12 year old, wtf? Like a tired asf 12 year old. I fully acknowledge she's 16 but she looks 12 and depressed.

I agree, Cerulea is quite pretty in my opinion. Her traditional Evangelite clown-makeup really does her a disservice...I laughed when you said she and Rodrig look like teachers because you're SO RIGHT! They look like mean, strict teachers in particular. Rodrig looks like he'll give you detention if you so much as fart in his class.

Teal having Down syndrome is an interesting thought I never considered! Unfortunately I don't think it would fit in to the existing lore, because Evangelite culture is not very friendly to those with obvious disabilities. Since her family has money, they would likely send her to live in a nursing facility and she would not be permitted to marry, as they would fear a man "taking advantage" of her condition.

If anyone has an intellectual disability, I would say it's most likely Danus. It may not be obvious enough to get him institutionalized, but his peers definitely suspect something is slightly "off" about him upstairs. I imagine he has some kind of mild, unspecified developmental delay. Teal doesn't have a delay, she's just intellectually lazy. She doesn't like to think too hard about anything, she'd rather be told exactly what to think and do. I think her face just looks odd here because 1) I drew it very quickly, and 2) her face is at a slightly downward angle, so her features look more "squashed" than they would if she was looking straight-on.

Cyana does look a lot younger without her makeup! She has a baby face, but she'll probably grow out of it as she gets older. We'll say she's a late-bloomer. She looks sad and tired here because she IS sad and tired, her life in Evangeline Kingdom sucks! But one day she will find happiness, one way or another. I'm determined to give her story a happy ending!

Happy #humpday! Today is a day to listen to those with a bit more experience, find your friends and your tribe at work and keep your ears open to what others have to say. OK. I know this woman is a little controversial and I can totally see why people don't always agree with what she has to say, but maybe to some of you her approach makes sense and is able to help you. For me personally, I think a lot of the things she says make a lot of sense and have true helpful value, other aspects however I don't agree with/don't believe in/seem exaggerated, so I ignore them. I think the best way to go about these videos is take to your heart what makes sense to you, and just leave the rest be :) Having said all that -  the reason why I'm posting this (my favourite Ask Teal video) is that her voice and way of speaking and just the whole atmosphere of it relaxes my shoes off. I've totally watched this video about 15 times and half the time didn't listen to WHAT she said, but HOW she said it ;)

After seeing how Teal looks without makeup or headgear, I seriously headcanon her as having Down Syndrome. She kinda looks like she might have it, and it'd explain how it seems she's a little less intelligent.

I talked about this in this other post already, but I wanted to add that my opinions are not law and I'm not a nazi about headcanons. I encourage everyone to play with the lore however they want to! If you imagine a character a certain way and want to write them that way, I'm totally cool with that, whether it matches up with the official lore or not.

I know some creators are weird about stuff like this, and some people get really possessive about their characters and how they're written, but I am definitely not one of them. We prioritize fun over canon 'round these parts. B)

Wait I noticed Teal is wearing the thing on her head (can't remember what its called rn but the thing Evangeline married woman wears) is she married???

You're correct! Teal is married, but uh...funny thing about that...

Her husband is involved with the House of Humanity as a Lindist monk. These monks are traditionally castrated, meaning they cannot have children.

Teal thought marrying a holy man would make her religious mother proud...and it would, if not for the eunuch thing, because she has denied Cerulea grandchildren. There are many positions in the Lindist temple, and monk is the only one that must be castrated. Of course that's the one that Teal chooses, lol.

Teal's whole schtick is trying so hard to make her mother proud and fucking up fantastically, but in a way that Cerulea can't be outwardly mad about or she'll look like a jackass.

Teal: Mother, I'm getting married!

Cerulea: Really? Well, it's about time! Who is the lucky fellow? :D

Teal: Oh, you're going to love him! He's a Lindist holy man! He works in the temple!

Cerulea, eyes sparkling with excitement: That's wonderful, Teal! See, I told you religious men make the best husbands. What is his role in the temple, exactly? Preacher? Scribe? [gasp] Is he an archpriest?! :D :D :D

Teal: Even better, mother! He's a monk! The most devoted men in the whole temple! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! I'm glad I took your advice and sought a holy man. My mommy is always right! <3

Cerulea, speaking through gritted teeth: Oh...I see... [eye twitches] That's...great, honey...I'm so, um, proud of you...

Teal is actually a real name! Maybe she has a little complex about it and tries to make it sound fancier than it is. "It's pronounced Tee-all! 💅"

What would happen if Cerulea daughters were teleported to their aunt

If they were all magically teleported to Uekoro, I think the first thing they'd do is complain about the heat/humidity. Average temps in the Blue Valley are around 50-70f, while Uekoro is more like 80-100f. They'd all be sweating buckets in their layered dresses, thick makeup running down their faces, wishing to dress modestly because of their culture but suffering miserably because of it.

Azura's wearing a typical Matuzan crop top and loin cloth. "If you ladies want to borrow some of my clothes, just say so. You must be dying in those dresses!" she tells them.

Scandalized, Lazuline's like, "But auntie, we can see your...[whispers] knees!"

Saphirra tries seducing Jelani, but just creeps him out. He's been around the block enough times to know batshit-crazy when he sees it.

Clementino has attached himself to Teal and cannot be extracted. He's like a barnacle. She just has to carry him everywhere now or he starts screaming louder than a volcanic eruption.

Cyana is a little too intrigued by the harem ladies...

Marine and Tyger are raising hell together. They cause 400k in property damages within 10 minutes.

Skylie is reading to Rustafi. He throws a tantrum because he didn't like how the story ended. Skylie makes up a new, better ending on the fly and he instantly calms down.

Cobalt is terrified. He's scared to move, speak, or do anything at all, because he's never been away from his mother before and everything here is so alien to him. Eventually Azura reassures him and he ends up having the time of his life at the palace. He never wants to go home.

If you think that would be a good fit for him, then sure! We can say he's on the spectrum, just on a different part of the spectrum than say, Skylie or Sygbarne.

Since I'm not autistic I don't want to talk over anyone who actually is, but I'll just say I am aware that autism can present itself very differently depending on the case, that it often comes with comorbid challenges like ADD/ADHD, OCD, bipolar, etc, which makes every case unique. Not to mention when we're dealing with fantasy creatures, we can assume that it may present different in them than it does in humans. I know that autistic people are as diverse as allistics, they do not all fit the "human robot" stereotype you usually see in media. I would like to depict the diversity of autism in the World of Looming Gaia as accurately as possible, and I would like to do so without offending people if I can.

Some of LG's autistic characters have very high IQs (Jeimos, Ojio, Lendon) but struggle with social interaction. Some may not be particularly book-smart, but are creatively gifted (Mr. Ocean, Skylie). And some just seem to struggle harder on all fronts (Sygbarne, Danus). It is certainly a spectrum, and everyone has their own unique challenges.

When I think of Danus, I imagine a man stuck in "slow motion". Like his brain needs more time to process stuff than other peoples', so he just kinda stands there with a vacuous look on his face a lot. He moves slowly, he talks slowly, he thinks slowly (possibly due to sensory issues?)...such a person stands no chance against Teal's nervous hummingbird energy. She's a nosey, fussy, motor-mouth of a woman.

I imagine her constantly talking over Danus, talking for him, overall just steamrolling everything he tries to say or do because she's unwilling to slow down for him. She takes advantage of his condition to dominate the relationship and treat him like a foot-stool. He just goes along with it and does whatever she says, because that's how he's managed to get by his whole life; by yielding to people who operate faster than him.

Poor dude deserves better imo...
