Shit, shit, shit. He had only looked away for a second, had gotten distracted by that weird, dancing luma mascot, and once he had looked back, his fluffy friend had vanished on him. Or maybe he himself had wandered off. He wasn’t standing in the same place as before. Fuck.

“Jodie?! Heeeey! Jooooooodieeeee!!! Holler if ya hear me!!” Grubba nervously called out through the thick crowd, looking side to side for any sign of the werewolf-turned Frost Dino Piranha. “Aw, man...” The redhead paused in his pacing and awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, eyebrows furrowed in worry. She was NOT going to be happy when he found her again... she had already seemed annoyed enough about the cute ribbon he had tied around her furry neck before they had departed for the festival. “Uhh... If I was a woofer fer two weeks, where would I run if I got separated from my best friend in a festival? Uhhhh.... err....” Grubba resumed walking, trying to look between people and booths for any slightest hint of a fluffy tail-- wait, there!!

“JO, THERE YA ARE!!” The ginger launched himself at Jodie, wrapping his arms around her fluffy neck and burying his face in her fur. “Yeesh, I’ve been lookin’ all over for ya, fella! Ya ran off faster than a bandit after an 100-coin haul!! Heck, darlin’, I thought ya went home!!” Pulling himself away from her fur for a second, Grubba quickly scanned her over. “Well, I guess ya look perfectly fine. Hey, ya’ll even kept th’ ribbon I got for ya nice ‘nd shiny! Heh, looks like we’re stiiiiill matchies!!” He tilted his head, grinning. “Man, what made ya run off so fast, huh? Didja see a game ya wanted t’ play? Heck, now that I mentioned it, we oughta play some games, live it up a lil’! Whaddaya say, huh?”

//Stay together too long means death is a possible outcome for one or both of them. The fact that they can even fuse for any amount of time with pure determination alone is remarkable. With Jodie being intolerant to heat, Brutes own tolerance goes down as well as they are in a constant, rapidly over heating and cooling down state causing a lot strain on its body and intense pain as well. If they could successfully control their fusion, being able to wield the power of both their elements, it would be a devastating force.. and if their sheer size alone wasn’t scary enough.

[Grubba looks up for a moment, his expression unreadable- and then it quickly brightens, the ends of his lips curling up in a joyful grin that actually looks genuine for once, and he claps his hands excitedly.]

“HOOOO-wee, now OL’ JO’S somethin’! I mean that in a real, good way, and y’know what? I’m ALWAYS right! Hyuk hyuk hyuk! Ol’ Grubba’s makin’ Jodie’s coolness official!”

[He stops talking for a split second, fingers tapping on the desk, and opens his mouth to excitedly babble some more.]

“Really though, Jodie’s great! One heck of a punch, a love fer food, diggety dang nice hair- she’s got the whole package! And those ice powers o’ hers- HOOOOOOO-weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Now THERE’S a sight t’ behold if I’ve ever SEEN one! Heck, I woulda LOVED t’ see her perform in th’ Glitz Pit back when I still ran th’ place- those icy breezes o’ her woulda blown the crowd away! And possibly turned ‘em int’ frozen humansicles, but that’s beside th’ point.”

[Grubba pauses once more, raising a hand and running it through his hair, appearing to be staring into nothingness as he brainstorms more things to say.]

“Th’ thing with Jodie’s that- mm, I’m sometimes worried ‘bout the gal, y’know? We’re best friends, yeah, but she... I dunno, it seems like she’s hidin’ a ton o’ stuff! I know that, yeah, maybe friends dun’ HAVE t’ tell each other everythin’, but I still wish I at least had SOME idea of what’s goin’ on in her lil’ head! Would make things easier fer me to handle whenever she gets kinda down, y’know. I don’t wanna press her buttons either, y’know? I wanna know, yeah, but if I get too nosy- she’s gonna break my nose against her knee like a axe comin’ down on a piece o’ lumber!! And possibly ditch me, and HOO, that is the LAST thing I need right now.”

(( h O O THE FUCK WEE BOI… Grubba’s usually freakishly picky when it comes to friendships, and the people who actually try and get somewhere with him frequently have a lack of understanding in the situation at hand, and are usually quickly (though subtly) rejected. There are several (very vague) things that he looks for in a person when it comes to having a close companionship like that, and Jodie has managed to hit the mark perfectly. Having someone that he can easily relate to and understand in so many different subjects is a big change for him, to say the least, and it makes him- well- really, REALLY care about her, something he promised himself he’d stop doing for other people a looong time ago. With Jodie, while he does keep his rowdy, loud and somewhat cringy personality, he’ll also pipe down and listen to her during the times that she needs it. Grubba’s never really been the greatest with words, or the whole friendship thing in general, but when it comes to Jodie.. he’ll do his best. ))

Bozzwick:

(( WELL with Bozzwick, something about the undeadness of boos has always made him a bit sweaty, but Grubba probably deals with it and generally tries to uphold a positive relationship with him. After all, if Jodie’s so close to him, he’s probably pretty cool too, right? He probably thinks Bozzwick’s similarly sarcastic, swear word loaded personality is hilarious and akin to his own, so he would probably eventually deem him fun to hang around and have no problem including him in the party if Bozzwick ever wanted to come along on Jodie and Grubba’s outings. ))
