in my undertale canon I had green eyes, a tuft of fur that could stick up or lay flat depending on the day, digigrade feets but the heel part wasn’t super long and fuzzy feet, no hooves, I was barefoot pretty much all the time, pants ended above the heel thing, my sweater looked like chara’s, one stripe

chara had red eyes, short brown hair, freckles and rosacea

sound familiar to anyone? I’d love to chat or just know your variations, it’s neat to see everyone’s little differences

Hello, Kris! I've got an inquiry for you! What's it like being a fictive? I'm starting to believe I'm an ENA fictionkin, and was wondering if we may have similar experiences!

1. I type and speak differently as ENA.

2. I miss my friend Moony, despite her being.. well, fictional!

3. I feel as though some of the things in my (ENA's) youtube series have happened to me. (I almost remember going down that dizzying path!)

4. I feel odd looking at myself in the mirror and ENA isn't on the other side, because I really feel like her and my brain perhaps expects my body to look like hers.

Well, it took a while to get used to. I have all the memories + more from my source, and I miss my mom and Asriel a lot. But I don't really get dysphoria from the body since I think of it more as a game. I'm just. Playing as this character that is "Dillon". The way I speak feels normal to me, but then again I also don't have dialogue of my own in my source.

rant about gender in the undertale community

The gendering of specifically frisk and Chara in the Undertale fandom is really kind of irritating as a non-binary person myself.

no, frisk and Chara are not boys.

no, frisk and Chara are not girls.

no, their gender is not up to interpretation.

And before I get yelled at in the comments, I’m not talking about AUs or kinsonas or fictives. I’m talking about people in the fandom who call Chara and frisk she or he and say “oh, it’s actually up to the player to decide since they’re both player inserts!!”

The point of undertales true pacifist route is how Frisk and Chara are their own people. Chara is not a player insert. Chara is a human who lost their own faith in humanity and is finally able to properly rest at the end of a pacifist.

Frisk is not a player insert. Frisk acts by themself. Frisk makes their own choices. Be it at the end of a genocide run, when they kill Sans, Asgore, Flowey by themself, or when they hug Asriel at the end of a pacifist and their name is revealed as Frisk.

They are their own characters. Chara’s name isn’t what you type in. Neither is Frisk’s. The true name. Their names.

Let’s look at some other characters for a second. Chell, Sunny, and Jack Kennedy from the games Portal, Omori, and DSaF.

No one ever says these characters genders are up to interpretation. You know why?

Because they aren’t canonically non-binary or trans. Because Chell is a woman, Sunny is a boy, and Jack is a man. They are all cis. None of them particularly venture outside the gender binary when it comes to their actual games. They aren’t up to player interpretation because they aren’t enby.

If you read this far, please tell me your thoughts on this matter. Idk, it just kind of bothers me. Don’t even get me started on Kris omg
