Part 3. We're with J who was in sleep mode in the space ship drifting in memory lane dreaming of the early days of working with Cyn when she assisted her after the gala when Cyn was still taking apart the drones and assembling them into disassemblers starting with N (reflecting the fight ig) and Cyn using her loyalty to Tessa against her and attempting to imitate her mannerism

That's the Job

Snippet:
You choked on the next words, eyes blurry now. "I couldn’t breathe. I didn’t know it’d hit me like that."
He took another step. "So you left?"
"Wouldn't you? I mean—wouldn’t anyone?"
"And you lied." his voice took a tone of hurt.

A week has passed since the nightmarish incident. That day, all staff at Top Gun were informed, as is protocol, of the crash that resulted from a sudden birdstrike during field training, nearly taking the lives of two pilots. Both of whom had been close friends of yours.
Thankfully, both Natasha and Bob survived. Although, they and Coyote were rushed to the hospital for urgent care and testing.
But part of your job description as a rookie R&D Analyst was to assess post-mortems, and when you got your eyes on the images of jet – completely destroyed and burned, your mind flooded with awful hypothetical images.
They were lucky – you realized. Because one minute longer, one detail off, and they could have been gone. He could have been gone. For good.
Images flashed in your mind. Blood and lifeless brown eyes...
Your chest hurt.
Before anyone in the office could notice, you turned away from your computer screen – leaving the images of the destroyed jet on display – and strode out of the room.

Engineers — even brilliant ones — didn't go into a job expecting to confront the potential violent death of the people they worked with. It’s not part of their emotional framework. So as a young adult that was new to the field, watching Bob and Phoenix nearly die did something to your brain. Making it scramble for control. And the easiest way it could think to do that was Distance. Detachment. You never wanted to feel that way again.
Prior to the crash, you had been assigned a project; a request to improve the laser nav systems, submitted by Lt. Robert Floyd. You and the WSO had gotten along extremely well, right off the bat. He didn't discard your ideas like many members of your own team did, and you were extremely impressed by his expertise as a Weapons Systems Officer and overall badass.
And he was kind. He often came across as technical and serious, but you found yourself inspired by his dedication to his job.
He was also... distracting.
When you two worked together when you just couldn't help a glance over at him. Your eyes tended to linger.
On his lips pressing together when he would concentrate. On the movement of his arms – muscular under his uniform, muscular from days of training out in the sun as he disassembled and assembled the machine you were working on. On the gentle hums he would make when you had suggested an idea and the way he would listen with the most intense gaze, afraid to miss a detail. On the way, his hair was a curly blonde mess falling into his forehead after a long day of training – the only time he could come and assist you with the project.
And what's worse? He was brilliant! He knew his stuff almost too well. Every observation, every test, and every note was detailed to near obsession.
You pointed it out once.
It had been when he had disassembled the laser chamber, displaying each piece on the desk and labeling them to perfect accuracy.
"I didn't know pilots knew so much about the cogs and gears of the weapons systems." You had murmured, not thinking much of it.
"I'm a Weapons Systems Officer." He leveled you with a smirk.
Your face must have gone red, because his smirk widened into a laugh.
He offered you his hand as if to introduce himself. "Hi I'm Bob. It’s my job to use the systems in combat. If it fails, I take the hit."
"Sorry! I didn't mean it like that."
He shook his head, laughing. "Don't apologize, I get that a lot. Just know I’m not just here to press buttons and look good in a uniform.” He winked, a rare gesture from him, and it was enough to ease a smile out of you.
Alright, so he was smart, beautiful, snarky, and also a badass. Great.
You always looked forward to interacting with the aviators, but it was different with him. It made you giddy. And you often had to remind yourself to be professional.
Annoyingly, thoughts of him would often cut into your personal life. At the gym, you motivated yourself with memories of him doing push-ups with his fellow flyers on the concrete. Sweaty and tired but still determined, and God damned resilient. With your friends, you'd re-told some of you work stories, which mostly involved him. And when you were by yourself...
That aside, you two had even made great progress on your project to improve the laser systems. In fact, the day of the bird strike, Bob was testing out a new fix you two had come up with.
Now, it had been destroyed along with the rest of the plane. And what's worse, you were pretty sure what you did next was going to hurt him even more
Because that evening, after you dried your tears in the bathroom and got your breathing under control, you requested to be reassigned from working with Bob on the project.
☆☆☆☆☆
You went through the next few days on autopilot, burying yourself in your work. Your new projects were dull, but dull meant safe. Your coworkers helped. They joked, they complained, they distracted you. They left at reasonable hours.
The aviators were all back at the academy, too busy pushing their bodies past the edge of human capability. Their breaks were short, their evenings longer. You barely passed them in the halls, and you were grateful for it.
Occasionally, the uncomfortable conversation you'd had with Bob would replay in your head.
On the day he was discharged from the Military Hospital, it was 18:05 when Bob strode through the metal doors of the hangar. Boots, cargo pants, white shirt — the usual. He carried his tablet under one arm, his dog tags tapping softly against his chest.
“We lost the prototype with the last jet, so we’re back to square one,” he said as he walked up to your table. "We gotta move fast to catch up—"
He paused.
You were perched on the edge of the desk, your work bag at your side. Not unusual in itself — end of the day and all — but you weren’t unpacking, rearranging, or reviewing notes. You were just sitting there. Like you were done.
His expression shifted. "Are you going somewhere?"
You stood, shouldering your bag. Just say it, you told yourself. Be professional. Clean cut.
"Lieutenant," you said, voice steady, "it’s been an honor working with you. But I’m stepping away from the project."
He blinked. "...Can I ask why?"
You hesitated. He was waiting — not with anger or even with disappointment, just that open Bob-ness that made it worse somehow. So trusting.
"I’m just not interested in the project anymore," you said quickly, like ripping off a band-aid.
There was a beat of silence.
"That’s… sudden," he said slowly.
You looked away.
Then, he spoke up softly. "Was it something I did?"
Your stomach twisted. "No," you answered too fast. "Not at all. It’s not you."
"I thought we worked well together," he said, softer now. "Didn’t we?"
"We did." You adjusted the strap on your shoulder. "This isn’t personal. I just… want to try something else."
He nodded, but not like someone who believed you. More like someone who was trying really hard not to push.
"Well," he said, clearing his throat and standing straighter. "Good luck with whatever’s next."
You nodded and offered a tight smile. "You too."
You'd jerk back and shake your head as if trying to force the thought away willingly.
☆☆☆☆☆
You’d stayed late in your cubicle, distracted by some calibration notes. You barely registered the footsteps in the hallway until a shadow fell over your desk.
"Hey."
You looked up.
He stood in the doorway, uniform loose on his frame, dark bags under his eyes, stubble on his chin, his dog tags still.
Iceman's funeral was mere days ago. It had really hit the aviator's morale. The death of a legend. Someone who'd been a mentor to them.
One hand clutched the strap of his bag like it was the only thing grounding him.
"I’m flying out tomorrow," he said.
You blinked. " …you were picked."
An unsettling feeling began to grow in your stomach. Either anxiety. Or fear for his safety. You weren't sure at the moment.
"Phoenix and I." He nodded. "With Mav."
"Congratulations." Your throat closed. You set your pen down, bracing your hands on the desk to stop their tremble. "Who else?"
"Rooster. Payback. Fanboy."
You nodded slowly.
Then, your voice caught as you said. "Be careful."
He didn't react. Almost as if deliberately. At first, it looked like he was ready to leave, but then his gaze was back on you.
"You know," He took a small step forward. "I asked Phoenix and Hangman about you."
You raised your brow, unsure where he was going with that.
He took another step, coming closer. "Figured maybe you needed space. But… turns out they haven’t heard from you either. None of us have."
You backed up just a little until the edge of the desk pressed into your hip. "You were all busy."
"Oh, we’d have made time." He paused — not hurt, just searching. The rest of his sentence was implied in his furrowed brow. And you know it.
It was true. Being one of the youngest recruits, you were closer in age with the mission candidates and have grown quite close with all of them through your work. And you've been avoiding them like the plague in hopes you wouldn't have to see any of them possibly die...
"See…" Bob cleared his throat. "I was going crazy, trying to figure out what I did wrong. Thought maybe I’d said something. Maybe come off too strong."
You didn’t allow yourself to speak. How could you explain leaving them in a way that didn't make you sound childish?
"I saw you nearly die and it fucked me up. But since you do this for a living and something... worse could happen, I'm scared of what it would do to me, so the less we interact the better."
Yeah, good luck with that.
His voice softened. "And then I realized. It was that day. Wasn’t it?"
You inhaled sharply, eyes stinging.
He stepped closer. Not enough to crowd you, but enough to make you feel him. "The crash."
You looked down. "You nearly died, Bob."
"But we didn’t."
"But you still could have!" Your voice cracked. "And what if you... don't walk away next time?"
His tone lowered, serious. "That’s the job."
"Well, I don’t do what you do!" You sniffled. "I haven’t had friends die mid-air or disappear off the radar. I'm not used to this. I'm not wired for it. And hearing you drop like that—seeing what was left of the plane... if you were still inside—"
You choked on the next words, eyes blurry now. "I couldn’t breathe. I didn’t know it’d hit me like that."
He took another step. "So you left?"
"Wouldn't you? I mean—wouldn’t anyone?"
You found yourself wondering this to no end for the past says.
"And you lied." his voice was hurt now.
You flinched.
But he didn't fill the silence, waiting for you to speak.
"I didn’t want to tell you because…" you swallowed. "Because if I said it out loud, it’d mean I couldn’t handle it. That I’m not strong enough for this. For any of this.”
That I don't belong here. At the job I've dreamed of since I first picked up a physics textbook back in elementary school.
Silence. A breathless, raw silence that pulsed between you like static.
Deep, beautiful brown eyes searched your face. He was so close bow. "You think I don’t get scared too?"
You swallowed hard.
His hand brushed your cheek. Barely there. And still, you felt it like lightning.
He leaned in — close enough you could see the pale gold of his lashes that brushed his cheeks.
Then he stopped. Right there. Inches away. His breath uneven.
"I want to," he whispered.
Your breath caught. You looked up at him, eyes glossy. For a second, he leaned in — the moment hanging in the air like a held breath.
Your eyes held his, steady now.
The words were on the tip of your tongue.
If you're going to kiss me... you'd better come back.
He hesitated, then stepped back. A full, aching step. "This isn't right."
Your chest squeezed. He was walking away and taking his warmth with him and what if he wasn't coming back.
Timidly, your hands moved from their place behind you and grasped as his uniform, and you brought your lips to his.
He gasped. The soft intake of hair brushing your lips. Then his arms wrapped around your waste and tightened, pulling you into himself.
He deepened the kiss. Lips possessive over yours, brushing in a slow but powerful movement that barely gave you a chance to take a breath as he took a step forward. Your back was against your desk.
Capable hands brushed over your body, as if memorizing it.
You wondered if he was thinking the same thing you were. What if this was the first and last time?
Sometimes, his timid demeanors made it easy to forget he was an battle-hardened soldier, a fact that was very evident now by the way he lifted you up with ease and held you like you weighed nothing.
He groaned against your mouth, his glasses brushing your nose.
"Its not fair to do this." His tone was quiet but hard.
With a sinking feeling, you nodded, agreeing. But as your harms began to lower from around his neck, he began to kiss down your throat, not as keen on stopping as you thought he was. Each brush of his lips or his tongue on your sensitive neck sent you gasping arching into him.
Thank god you'd stayed late and most people had gone home for the day.
Your fingers curled into his dirty blonde locks, also attempting to memorize the feel of him.
"M-maybe we should stop?" You stammered.
"Yeah," he nodded, though his fingers were undoing the buttons of your long-sleeved shirt, pulling it out of your skirt. "After, we'll stop."
You couldn't help but giggle, then shudder against the cold air hitting your skin all at once. He gently pushed you to lay down with your back to the desk.
Most of your shirt was still mostly on, only open at the front. His movement was slow and deliberate, lowering your bra straps and cups like he was disassembling a machine. Then he took your breasts in his hands and rolled his thumbs over your nipples.
Your breath caught as pleasure shot through your beasts and you moaned before your could stop yourself. He lowered his mouth on yours to remind you to be quiet.
You felt one of his hands travel down from your breast to the hem of your skirt, fingers brushing the inside of your thigh, making you shake. He pulled your panties aside and slid his finger into your heat.
"Oh fuck," he was struggling to keep quiet too.
You could feel how slick you were, how easily he could slide his digit in and around your pussy, spreading your slick around and over your clit.
You looked up at him, as your chest still rose and fell with his stimulation of your left nipple. Bob had his lower lip between his teeth, eyes scanning your face and body, committing them to memory.
Then he lowered to his knees. Your hand flew to cover your mouth as you felt his tongue join his fingers.
"Nhn!"
You were getting very close.
His mouth began to move your your folds. Kissing you, licking, sucking your clit. He added another finger inside you, curving and making you buck your hips.
Your hands grasped the edge of your desk. Everything he was doing was sending waves of pleasure through your body. Palm still over your mouth, you bit your finger to stop the moans slipping out.
Then, as if he sensed you were there, he sped up his mouth and fingers.
Oh god.
You couldn't stop panting loudly as you reached your orgasm. Hips shuddering and bucking against him, you fingers grasped hus hair, needing him closer.
His mouth was on you throughout. Still leaving slow, gentle kisses on your poor, sensitive cunt as you came down from the high.
Standing up, he cupped the nape of your neck and brought you up to taste yourself on his lips.
He kissed you for a long time. You don't know how long.
"I had to." He said against your mouth. "I had to know what you tasted like."
The words made your breath catch. "Promise me you'll come back," your voice broke.
He hid his face in the crook of your neck. "I can’t promise that," his voice barely audible in your ear.
You nodded, even though it cracked something in you.
Bob lingered in the doorway. Just before he turned, he looked back over his shoulder.
"Oh — by the way… the laser nav works perfectly." A faint smile. "We fixed it."
And then he was gone.

beauty and curiosity
Tumblr media
synopsis: As Dottore's research assistant, you had to keep your curiosity on par with what he expected. You never thought that what sparked it after so much time would be Capitano himself
word count: 3k pairing: capitano x gn! reader (slight dottore if you wish to imagine it so, I did)
Tumblr media
The door that greets your open eyes is the same like always. Brown wood that someone else picked before you. You can't say that they had bad taste, the door is placed nicely to the right corner and you little friend from last night - the spider- greets you even with this dawn. You wonder if he stayed there the whole night while you were sleeping as a thank you to the mercy you extended him. You did not kill him, and he did not move to make a new web. maybe he saw that as an equal trade? You probably would have left him alive anyway. Someone told you long before that seeing a spider was like a hint that you will get lucky in the following few days. So, even as your feet touch the cold wooden floor, you decide to still have mercy and to open the door without killing him to get breakfast.
Maybe they are lucky omens, maybe they are not. But it is not like killing him or carrying him out the window would change much for you. Your eyes would see the same door tomorrow. The floor would feel cold again and you would pick the same mug off the drying dishes in your kitchen to start the day with.
These routines did not bother you themselves, no. What was bothersome was the fact that you realized how, eventually, everyone develops to have them as creatures of habit. It was inevitable to turn into someone who repeats the same things over and over again. Even the harbinger you serve - one with multiple bodies, had his own routines. His younger clones had far more rebellion towards them but even they still had a need to keep a specific space, to prioritize one thing over the other like second nature.
Truth be told - you were not asked to pick who you would serve. Dottore ended up being the harbinger you would serve as an assistant. and you were not the only one picked for that role. He liked to keep plenty of staff. Part of it was that he needed an audience to showcase his own talents and immense intelligence to, while another part of him was a bit less selfish. Dottore was willing to teach those who had true curiosity and spirit according to his own criteria and for whatever reason, you managed to remain as one of the few assistants he kept close at hand. As close as he would allow that is and with a man like him that still meant millions of lightyears away.
You do not mind that in the slightest. What kept you around despite your failures and 'shortcomings' of having a moral compass in his lab was that he deemed your curiosity the highest out of anyone he had met. He once told you that if you were not serving him, the abyss would have swallowed you whole because you would wonder about its properties the same way you wondered about colors when you were younger.
"Why are apples red and why is the sky blue? from your childhood would just turn into questions about the inside shapes of the abyss and you would be swallowed by curiosity." Were his exact words.
Dottore believed that true curiosity could not be fabricated even at his own hands so while you were the not best person for experiments at the start, you were the one who suited his own curious nature.
'What good is a doctor who cures a disease without wondering about the cause? Without wondering about its transformations? What good is an engineer who cannot disassemble parts at the same speed he would assemble them at? And what good is a person who cannot see beyond the usual?"
He said you could see beyond the usual but in all honesty, sometimes it feels like you can't see past this mug. Or this window looking out into the street next to your breakfast table. Sometimes you felt like you could not see beyond the speck of dust or the peel of a citrus fruit.
Maybe that is why when he gave you a choice to leave, you decided to stay. While every Dottore clone had his own routines, they managed to keep a constant cycle of novelty. Working at his lab eventually brought more interesting things than you could have found yourself.
Was beauty in the new? Or was it in the old?
You were deeply unsure.
Tumblr media
Dottore was not above punishing you despite keeping you around. For a few days, Dottore did not hear you utter a singular question in his lab and he found it so offensive you would dare to become ignorant to his breakthroughs. It seemed like you were bored of him and his research and he decided that a proper punishment would be to have you spend a whole month in the city farthest away from the main fatui base and from the tsaritsa.
if you were so bored of constant novelty - you might as well experience true boredom by residing in his abandoned lab in a peaceful town where everyone with something exciting to offer already moved away. The worst part? You did not feel like anything changed.
Numbness even touches curiosity. So, what if your door is now on the right instead of the left? What if the mug is pink instead of white? What if you were there or here? Differences are miniscule and nothing could make your curiosity perk up. If you were still like this when he summoned you back - you would be sent home and that is all there was to it. Or, he would further punish you by extending your stay. He could laugh at you when you mixed the things in the wrong way or when you failed to fix a core and it would explode. But what he absolutely refused is to have your curiosity dim down. If it did, you would be useless.
And it isn't like you have not tried to find something interesting. While you were on the trip to get to here, you tried to find something interesting. Perhaps some plants that would show something new or an animal that would make for a good study case. You did want to try and see how many generations it would take for animals to break a trauma response their parents exhibited alone but even that went out of the window after a few seconds.
If you could not find anything worthwhile in this town - you would be doomed to feel this way forever. Black and white thinking but not without basis. Stubborn curiosity and stubborn numbness started to go hand in hand for you. Maybe if you closed your eyes and prayed, your spark of curiosity would find an object for it to love and latch onto?
In the next moment, your spoon made a small noise. It moved from one side of your mug to the other. Nothing unusual, right? You just wanted to make the tea and honey come together but when you looked down you realized that your hands did not make it move. You already finished doing that around three minutes ago. To prove to yourself what it feels like, your hands moved to make the same motion and the fog over your brain lifted as you felt that danger was near. Somehow this spoon moved and it was not your doing.
With all your senses, you tried to pinpoint what exactly had happened but you were unsuccessful. Even if something was here, it masked its presence so well that a ghost would be ashamed. You did not feel a void, but you did not feel any warmth either. Unnerving. Unusual.   Interest could be found in fear but you were unsure where to search.
Luckily for you, the presence had decided to make itself know. With a slight thud, footsteps approached you without your door ever opening. Was this mercy extended towards you in the same way you treated your spider? It sure felt that way.
"My sincere apologies for startling you." Now you had to look up from the mug to search for the stranger. But, with his deep voice and polite manner of speaking, you knew who it belonged to already. Capitano, the first of the eleven fatui harbingers. Your own Lord always said he did not care much for rankings but a certain sour taste would be in his words whenever he spoke of this man. You had not made contact with him previously but in a way, you felt that it was cruel fate that only one number separated you from the most noble and righteous harbinger and a heretic.
"Based on my previous visits to this abandoned small lab, I never encountered another soul here. When I felt your presence, I had to judge if you were sent here or if you were trying to steal information that belongs to our organisation."
You stood up and saluted him. It comes like second nature. "Lord harbinger, you were doing your duty. No need for apologies."
"Nonsense. I felt that I had startled you and should have thought of Dottore sending his own forces to abandoned labs before I made such a move."
Talking to other lords never came quite easy to you. Dottore enjoyed much of questioning and random rambles but other Lords were known to punish just for being asked a question by wretched vermin. But suddenly, you felt that Capitano filled the room with a presence. It seemed like he could choose to be a void or actually have spiritual warmth. How many years had he taken to perfect this?
In fact, how many years has he been alive? Did your lord simply hate him because he was branded with number two? Why did he always wear a mask?
You had heard so many rumours in bars and gatherings of other servants and soldiers but Capitano's own men never gossiped. Not even when they were at their most drunk. That is - they never spoke of their own lord with anything other than praise.
Where did that admiration come from? Had anyone seen him without a mask or cry perhaps?
"Your silence makes for a rather awkward companion. But I can tell you have questions."
"I have been called curious before, but it has been a while since I was curious about anything deeply."
Capitano moved a few steps to open a drawer with syringes in it.
"Are you not a researcher and is this not a lab of your famed lord?"
"Yes is my answer to both of those questions."
His gloved hands picked up two syringes and he did not look at you while he was doing so. You were not part of Dottore's team when he made them and their unique mix of colors piqued your interest. One of those colors looked like synth vaguely but the other one was similar to lava. Just how many experiments of Dottore's were you unaware of?
"And should this not be a prime place for you when the answer is yes to both. What have you been doing all this time?"
"Looking around this lab without actually touching anything for longer than a few seconds. I also kicked out a lot of spiders but last night I let one stay."
Capitano did not seem perplexed with your paradoxical answers. He could see your eyes eying his syringes with interest when you refused to take them apart and analyse the contents for however long you have been here. He felt no malice or dishonesty in your being, so he simply continued to move like you were not here. He had done this countless times before.
"I will not tell you what is inside of these syringes if that is one of your questions."
He sat down on a chair on the other side of your mug.
"I did have questions about the contents but I would have asked the syringes themselves not you. Even if it seems that I might melt or change shape from simply being exposed to them in any capacity.
"Hmm. You make a valid point. What keeps me a monster would make you disappear. I suggest you stay away from these unless you wish to meet a cruel fate."
"Lord first, you give me a kind warning but you speak of being a monster."
"And what is your observation meant to accomplish?"
"Nothing. Well, I could say it will help me keep my form too."
"You are an ordinary human." It didn't feel like an insult. It felt like he was praising such simpleness.
"What form do you speak of?"
This time he was looking at you. You could not see his eyes from his helmet but you could feel his gaze on you. Without flinching or moaning, all while keeping his eyes solely on you - Capitano stabbed his thigh and his heart with the two syringes he had prepared.
It seemed like he felt nothing but you felt both warmth and cold at once and in a second the overwhelming feeling was gone. It was so overwhelming that your curiosity made you run over and place your hands over his own to feel any remnants of energy. Touching any other harbinger so casually would have meant a number of different fates but Capitano was a kind man.
"If you are here to inspect me, there is no need. I know what I am doing and these will not kill me."
You helped him remove them even if he truly seemed like he did not need help. You could run towards the drawer he pulled them out from but the object of your interest were not the syringes themselves.
Your curiosity was this man himself. For the first time in a while, your brain started to race with questions and theories. Just who was he and what was he hiding.
"What is the reason you are so familiar with using these? Why are you here? Are you a monster?"
"Indeed. I belong to them."
"Beings? You speak of yourself as if you are not human. Just what is behind that mask of yours?"
Perhaps Dottore was right, the abyss would swallow you whole if it interested you. Maybe it still can? If you get out of this situation alive - if you survive removing the mask of the famed and powerful harbinger - you could go out to uncover new condensed abyssal energy.
You finally got your curiosity back and allowing it to run out would be a crime against yourself. Curiosity filled your whole body and Capitano felt cold to your touch as you looked at his face.
"You call yourself a monster because of this?"
"Are you perhaps about to call it beauty like that twisted doctor you serve?"
Maybe he expected a bigger reaction than this. Maybe you failed him, but you did not fail yourself.
"Beauty? There is nothing beautiful about it."
"At least you don't call rot beautiful like your own master."
"Your ice is above my head so I suppose your reputation proceeds you. You are kind enough to let me get my words out."
"Speak."
"There is nothing beautiful about the rot of skin. However, you are not a monster. You are undoubtedly human."
"Laughable."
But he did not laugh. He found you foolish. You dared to overstep twice. Removing his helmet was one thing but trying to comfort him was another.
"You are human, lord harbinger. Did you know that my own lord does not rot? Did you know he has made others unable to rot? In an odd way, this rot makes you more human than you believe."
You can't tell if your words caused a change or if they were comforting or insulting. This man has lived more lives than you ever will and he had seen and spilled more blood than you can imagine. He does not need comfort from you. That much is clear.
Still, as the ice descends, he makes it disappear with his hand and you emerge unharmed.
"Your curiosity saved you."
"I always thought it would eat me alive."
"It almost did. I never heard of anyone gaining a vision and immediately aiming at themselves."
A cryo vision had manifested in your lap without you even noticing. When you looked back up, Capitano had already pulled down his mask.
"Why didn't you stop me? You could have made me regret my choice the instant I tried to touch you."
"I had never seen anyone gain a vision in such a way. I suppose my own curiosity got the better of me."
He got up from the chair and you noticed just how much taller and imposing he was from such close proximity. You really were in the presence of danger and still chose risk instead of safety. Capitano was already moving towards the door and something compelled you to sit back down and finally drink the tea that had grown cold.
He was in the doorway now. You were thinking of what would happen to you now that you had a vision. Maybe you could try to boil it? You heard they were indestructible but surely something could dissolve it? Visions were not a completely natural thing in this world.
"Come. Bring that vision and follow me."
"I still do not have orders to leave this place."
"Since when were you allowed to refuse any orders from a harbinger? Dottore is not the only one you ought to listen to and I doubt he would be suitable to teach you how to use your new power."
You would be risking Dottore's wrath and plenty of unpredictable outcomes based on which clone greets you once you are back. But, losing the object of your curiosity would doom you to a worse fate in your own eyes.
Following Capitano would unlock a new world for you. Something told you that you would be able to find new beauty and curiosity if you took him up on his offer.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sinclair didn't know what had gone through his head when he'd agreed to enter this stupid Christmas decorating contest.
It had been Dame Aurora De Longrantfirth's idea to liven up the posh neighbourhood they lived in. Sinclair had always loved Christmas, but he'd always been far too busy with his work to enter such contests, but the old woman had insisted, saying he was the sleaziest neighbour on the street, and Sinclair's pride had been stung.
Except that he'd quickly gotten a taste for it, so much so that he'd decided to beat his neighbour Andrew, an annoying lawyer who fancied himself a poet in his spare time. Sinclair's plan was simple: Andrew would recreate the North Pole, create a Christmas at Versailles for him. Grand chandeliers, gilded mirrors, swans carved from ice, nothing would be too beautiful to decorate his estate.
Except that it made him a little... hysterical. The assistant he had hired couldn't take it anymore. Nothing was too good, too extravagant for Sinclair who applied the principle that money was made to spend.
Except that he didn't really know what he wanted and made the poor man run around in all directions, assembling, disassembling, reassembling decorations all day long.
"What do you mean, you're resigning ?" Sinclair asked, his face defeated.
"Mr Bryant, you are an intelligent man, I am sure you know the definition of the word resign. I am leaving ! I want nothing more to do with Christmas decorations. Besides, I call off Christmas at my house for this year !
This had come about after an argument about the colour of the curtains. He had been going around in circles for part of the afternoon before calling Peter, a work colleague who was as useless as he was with both decoration and electronics, but he had the advantage of having a wife who was up to date and interested in interior design.
She immediately advised him to take a look at a small vintage shop in central London. The owner had very good taste according to her since she had helped him redecorate the living room.
Although he was not convinced by the idea of entrusting the decorations of his house to a vintage clothing seller who seemed to have no real qualifications as a decorator, he went to see her.
"Can I help you?" she asked as she watched him pace around his small shop.
The place wasn’t very big, but it was bright, everything seemed to be in its right place and the walls had been tastefully painted.
“Are you the owner ?” Sinclair asked as he turned to her.
“Yes. Well, the tenant, but everything in the store is mine. Can I help you ?” she asked again with a warm smile.
Sinclair swallowed hard. It had been a long time since a woman had smiled at him like that, without even knowing who he was and what he had to offer.
“Carla Davis said you could help me,” he began hesitantly.
The young woman’s eyes lit up at the name Carla.
“Oh, she’s a regular customer. What can I do for you ?”
Sinclair told her what he had in mind in a few words, but she seemed to have understood what he wanted.
"Come back tomorrow, I'll show you some sketches."
"Very well, thank you, miss..."
"Anna, Anna Morton," she said, still smiling broadly, revealing two crooked front teeth.
"Sinclair, Sinclair Bryant, nice to meet you," he said, holding out his hand.
She shook it without hesitation. Her hand was small and cold compared to Sinclair's, but the electric shock he felt when he grabbed it had stunned him. He hadn't felt that way since... ever, actually.
When he returned to the store the next day, the sketches were ready as promised.
"It's... minimalist," he said cautiously.
"We can modify it, of course. It would be easier if I could see your house."
"Well, let's do it."
"Now ?"
"Oh, sure ! The store. I'll be back at closing time and take you ?"
Anna hesitated. She didn't know anything about this Sinclair after all and she'd read enough detective novels to know that it was a bad idea to get into a car with a stranger. On the other hand, he was sent by Carla and while they weren't exactly friends, she trusted her enough to believe that she wouldn't send him a raving lunatic for a customer.
"Well, be back in three hours."
With a clock like a Swiss cuckoo, Sinclair was there for closing time. He bundled her into his car and drove through the traffic and rain to his estate.
"It's a bit much for one person all by himself," Sinclair said, a little embarrassed by Anna's silence as she stared at the mansion.
"If you're comfortable there, that's enough, right ?"
"Exactly," Sinclair enthused, "according to studies, feeling at home is to have it all with our ability to create intimate spaces where we feel good and where we can build ourselves, nothing else," he added with a smile.
"And you have that here ?" the young woman asked sincerely.
Sinclair's smile faded slightly. He had that. Before. Before the divorce.
Understanding that she had perhaps touched a sensitive chord, Anna preferred to change the subject by asking him if he intended to let her in or if he was just waiting for her to lose her toes.
"Oh, of course, the temperatures are negative. They're predicting frost for tonight," he said as he opened the door for her.
He showed her the different areas to decorate while mentioning the dangers of global warming, but Anna interrupted him with a blunt and frank remark that disconcerted Sinclair.
"It looks like your living room swallowed a jewellery store..."
"What ?! These gilts are exceptional pieces," he said, slightly offended.
"Everything screams opulence, exceptionality, grandiose. You are most certainly doing the same thing as your neighbour: a display of your money. Nothing screams welcome and warmth, however."
Sinclair was speechless. If only he had known that this was only the beginning.
Throughout the two weeks, the arguments between him and Anna were constant.
"You are supposed to help me, not annoy me," he said one afternoon when she refused to take his advice about a Rococo vase that he thought was lovely but she considered abominable.
"I listen to you, I never stop listening to you. But instead of giving me decorating advice, keep explaining to me why green paint killed our ancestors and why your great-great-great-great grandmother had yellow skin. I didn't quite get the whole powder compact thing."
She frustrated him, but she also intrigued him. She listened to him when he talked about something other than decorating, most of the time with interest. She even asked pertinent questions when he was used to people ignoring him.
"Why didn't you study art ? Or decorating ? Or even fashion ?" Sinclair suddenly asked.
"I had been accepted to the Royal College of Art. But at the time, my mother fell ill and my father was about to lose his job due to staff restructuring. He wasn't sure he'd find a job again given his age, so I gave it up."
"That's a shame," Sinclair murmured.
"That's the truth. Sometimes you have to put your dreams aside."
She said it without sounding bitter, but Sinclair was sure she was hiding her feelings deep down.
"You never thought about going back to school ?"
"I'm too old for that now."
"Nonsense ! It's never too late to start over or even begin. Besides, statistically, it's between the ages of 30 and 40 that many women start studying at university and some even decide to start over to retrain."
She smiled, a sweet smile that made Sinclair melt.
"That's nice Sinclair, but... you need money to study and I have my store. I know I could work and study at the same time, but honestly, I don't know if I'd have the courage."
He nodded. He could understand. Not everyone had a background like his, parents who were financially secure enough to be able to afford to try, fail, or even not give 100%, even if that had never been the case for him. Sinclair had always been a brilliant student, aware of how lucky he was to be able to study.
"Sinclair, what do you want to do with this chandelier?" Anna asked, seeing the gigantic crystal chandelier that proudly sat on the floor of the veranda.
"Put it on the ceiling of the living room of course."
"It's going to be too heavy."
"The salesman assured me it would be perfect."
"And I'm telling you it's going to be too heavy. We've already created a swampy atmosphere with your fountain idea that overflowed and flooded your floor, let's try not to destroy the ceiling."
"It'll hold, I tell you."
The next day, Sinclair and the workers who had installed the chandelier were forced to admit that she was right. When Anna had arrived that morning, the four men were staring at the ceiling with a stupid look.
"You cracked your ceiling, Sinclair," she remarked.
"I saw it, thank you," he grumbled.
"Get someone to come right away so that the crack doesn't get worse and to make sure there's no danger. The only thing missing is the sky falling on our heads."
Seeing how affected he seemed, you had agreed to have dinner with him. The meal had been simple, topped off with a dessert that Sinclair and you devoured down to the last crumb.
"I've always dreamed of greatness. My parents, especially my mother, always said that's what defined us," he confided, pouring himself a glass of whiskey.
"Defining yourself by which meaning ?" Anna asked, sipping her tea.
"No idea. It sounds snobby when you say it like that, but I promise you that my mother is one of the kindest and most respectful women I know. She grew up poor. She didn't know money and luxury until she married my father. I think that's why she always did too much and she passed that little flaw on to me."
Anna placed her hand on his with an indulgent smile. Sinclair's vulnerability had taken her by surprise, but she liked this new side of him, less sure of himself.
"You don't need to impress anyone, Sinclair. You're a good, cultured, kind person. Show it with simplicity."
He watched her, surprised by what she had just said, but also strangely relieved. He turned his hand so that he could close it on Anna's, his thumb caressing the back of her hand.
"It's just a competition, Sinclair," she added softly.
"You're right," he said, "but that's how I am, I always put too much heart into everything I undertake."
"It's a quality."
At least that's what she had thought until the day before the competition. Everything was perfect, the house was sumptuous, but an argument had come to tarnish all that. He had said unfortunate words that he now regretted having said, but it was too late. He had, without meaning to, insulted her and her talent by reducing it to a lack of diploma. As if pieces of paper told everything about the value and abilities of a no one.
"You don't need me anymore, Sinclair," Anna whispered, disappointed and hurt, "good luck with the contest," she added before leaving.
He had treated her like just another assistant, someone of no importance, and he felt so bad about it. He couldn't erase from his memory the hurt look in Anna's eyes, the tears she had held back.
All night, he had lain awake staring at the house. And now, a few hours before the contest began, he wasn't so sure he wanted to enter. Every detail, down to the tiniest sprig of mistletoe, reminded him of Anna. She had, in just two weeks, given him so much more than creative ideas. She had crept into him, slowly but surely and now, and he wanted to know if she could be more than the little vintage clothes saleswoman from Islington. Yes, maybe she could be a little saleswoman, but also his.
"What does winning matter if she's not there to celebrate with you Bryant ?!"
Without waiting, he grabbed his car keys and drove away, leaving all the lights out behind him. Without her, there was no joy, no warmth, neither in the house nor in him.
Except he had no idea where she lived or when that Christmas Eve the store was closed.
"Damn, Sinclair, what an idiot !"
"I couldn't have said it better myself," a voice said behind him.
He turned around with a start. There she was, behind him. He had to pinch himself just to make sure it wasn't a mirage created by his mind.
"What are you doing here ?" they asked in unison.
"I forgot my mother's Christmas present," Anna said with a small laugh, "and you ?"
"I...I wanted to see you."
"See me ?"
"Yeah... about our fight... I'm sorry Anna. I'm an idiot. I... I was stressed..."
"Yeah, I know, you put a lot of effort into the contest," she said indulgently.
"No, well yeah but it wasn't really the contest... I... I had a messy divorce and I was hoping... I don't really know what I was hoping for. Maybe to prove to myself that I don't always destroy everything... But I failed."
"You didn't destroy anything Sinclair. We just had a fight. But the fact that you're here to apologize..." she trailed off, her eyes wide, "Sinclair! The contest! What are you doing here ?!"
"Who cares about the contest. I don't care. None of this makes any sense. Anna, you were able to see the real me, you were able to see beyond appearances and... For the first time in a long time, I'm not afraid to let someone into my life. If... If you want to try and give us a chance of course."
Anna looked at him with wide eyes.
"You dropped the contest just to tell me that ?"
"Yes. Anna, please, let's give each other a chance," Sinclair said, grabbing her hand.
"Because there's already an us?" she said, barely hiding her smile.
"It could start now, if you want."
She moved closer to him, placing a hand on his chest.
"Would you like to come spend Christmas Eve with my parents and me ?"
"Are you already planning on introducing me to your parents?" he said with a smile so bright it could have made the sun jealous.
"Don't push your room. I'll introduce you as a friend. A good friend who had no one to spend Christmas with. And if you're good, then maybe that before midnight, there will be an us."
"That means you're my girlfriend," Sinclair said, grinning like a stupid teenager.
"That means, Mr. Bryant, that together I think we could balance each other out very well."
Without warning, Sinclair leaned in to kiss her, a soft, almost hesitant kiss. And as they walked away hand in hand, Sinclair couldn't help but think that his decorative obsession had been a good thing after all.

🪞 Robin x Argenti 🪞 Beauty Marks
"Robin," Argenti said, "I would like your assistance with some cosmetic work this fine afternoon."
"You want me to do your makeup for you again?" Robin asked, enthusiastically.
"Something of the sort. Specifically, I am requesting for you to cover up a few imperfections on my body."
"Imperfections? Whatever do you mean?"
"If you may permit me to strip my body of all armor, I can further elaborate."
Robin got up from her chair and closed the door leading into the studio. Once she gave him the go-ahead, Argenti began to disassemble his armor, one hefty piece at a time. It was intricately secured together and assembled in such a precise manner, but this was something that Argenti has done time and again. He did it with such ease and grace, that Robin was almost convinced that she could just as easily do it herself.
Once all of the heavy armor was dropped to his feet, it became more evident how muscular Argenti’s body truly was. Even for a dignified lady like Robin, the sight of his toned muscles free of the armor had her on the verge of drooling. This wasn’t exactly something she had thought through completely. Robin’s face was turning red, to the point that looking at him proved to be quite the difficult task. His back was turned, so he wouldn’t notice if Robin averted her gaze, but that did not solve the problem of her needing to look directly at him to properly apply the makeup.
Robin was making this out to be far more scandalous than it really was. But she couldn’t help it. It’s reasonable to think that any girl would lose herself at the sight of a gorgeous well-built man.
Argenti stripped down to his underwear, but refused to go any further. Naturally, Robin was beyond flustered at such a sight, but she had to brave her personal feelings to assist him with his requests. He sat down on the cushioned stool, and the only thing out of the ordinary that she could notice was the scars covering his body. Lots of scars, in fact. For a knight, this was to be expected, however.
Argenti sat quietly as Robin continued to look for this "flaw" that he was talking about. She lifted up his long, crimson hair, but all she could see was more signs of past injury. A large scar ran down most of his back, and his arms and legs were covered in particularly large ones as well. Argenti’s torso was broadly covered as well, and Robin couldn’t help but wonder how he was still alive, given the apparent severity of these injuries.
She took a step back and looked at Argenti as a whole. His well-maintained facial complexion was a stark contrast to his banged-up body, but the question still remained as to what Argenti claimed was so wrong.
"Argenti," Robin said, "what exactly is it that you wanted me to patch up?"
"Is it not obvious to the naked eye?" Argenti asked, confused. "The entirety of my body is covered in foul scarring."
"How is that an imperfection? You’re a knight, that’s to be expected."
"Imperfect, in the eyes of the Beauty. How am I supposed to uphold my own values if I cannot even stay true to my own word?
"You’ve said to countless people with imperfections of all kinds that they are beautiful. Why wouldn’t you be yourself?"
"My body bears the ugly stain of never-ending conflict. This armor of mine but a masquerade of what filth truly lies beneath,” Argenti said, glancing down at his armor on the floor.
"...Wounds aren’t a sign of imperfection," Robin said, "You got them for a noble cause… I’d argue that they’re just the opposite of ugly."
"Idrila would have to argue against the case of a mortal, as I am but a blemish hiding beneath a noble disguise."
"Idrila would think you’re beautiful. I think you’re beautiful. There’s nothing more beautiful than a man who goes to such lengths to stand up for his ideals.”
"How I wish I could believe you," Argenti said with a sigh, "I desire to have a heart as pure as yours, where you do not see anything wrong with what lies before you."
Robin took ahold of one of Argenti’s hands. They were well maintained, yet were calloused and worn from the work of a knight. She held his large hand in her palm and stroked the top of it with her other hand, gently feeling every little bump and scar.
"You really don’t think you’re beautiful?" Robin asked.
"I am aware of enough of my deeply rooted faults that I cannot claim to be a beautiful soul. My physical appearance beneath my armor should be enough to suggest this," Argenti said.
"You’re crazy. You think I’m beautiful, right?"
"Absolutely, my lady."
Robin gently laid his hand down on his thigh. She then unclasped her choker and placed it on the table to the side of her. Argenti watched with curiosity, unsure of exactly what she was doing. Then, she turned to her side and pointed to a spot on her neck.
That’s when he saw a round blemish, unknown to the eye blinded by her choker.
"Does this make me any less beautiful?" Robin asked.
"N-no, not at all, my lady."
"See? I was shot in the throat and barely survived. Does that tarnish my value as a person? Absolutely not.”
She leaned in towards Argenti and gently ran her hand along the large scars on his chest and shoulders. He took a deep breath and sat as still as he could, resisting the temptation to sink into her touch.
"Same applies to you."
"...You flatter me. Truly."
"I don’t speak words of flattery, only words of truth. Idrila would be proud of you, Argenti. For upholding the ideals of your path ever so diligently."
"You believe that, despite everything?"
"A bullet through my neck doesn’t change anything, no? A couple of whacks on your body doesn’t make you any less beautiful. Personally, I think that just the opposite is the case here."
Argenti’s eyes widened in surprise.
"Physical flaws don’t matter in the eyes of true beauty. Thats what you say yourself," Robin said, taking a step back from him.
"Using my own words against me. What a clever young lady you are," Argenti said with a laugh.
Robin proudly huffed. "Whatever it takes. With that being said, I’m not doing any work on your bodily 'imperfections.' Because you have none."
"If you are truly insistent, who am I to deny your verdict?" he said, standing up.
Ah. That’s right. Argenti was a huge man, and he towered nearly an entire foot over Robin. And he still had yet to dress himself into his armor. Which meant that now stood a gorgeous, shirtless man directly in front of Robin.
She was doing so good, focusing hard to take the utmost care of surveying his body. And now she just stood there, flustered and frozen in awe.
While Robin was standing in place, Argenti took this as a chance for him to wrap his arms around her from the back and nuzzle gently into her neck. So now she had an incredibly gorgeous shirtless guy holding her close. What a truly wonderful predicament.
"I apologize for not being aware of your past injury," Argenti said, "I, by no means, meant any disrespect to you."
"Ahh. n-n-n-no it’s fine! Really!" Robin stammered.
"Am I causing discomfort to you, love?" Argenti asked, cautiously leaning away.
"No! You’re fine! More than fine, in fact!"
If Robin was awestruck at Argenti’s beauty when he was fully clothed, she certainly couldn’t handle him with almost nothing on. And the fact that he was so close against her body, muscular arms wrapped around her and his face against her neck had her feeling like she was going to self-destruct like a bomb of happiness and embarrassment.
"May I?" Argenti asked, nudging against her neck gently.
"Y...es! Yes you may!"
With her direct consent, Argenti softly placed a kiss on the side of her neck where the bullet wound was.
If she wasn’t so flustered, she would reciprocate, giving attention to each and every scar on Argenti’s body. That, however, would have to wait for a future in which she could look at Argenti without completely melting into a puddle within his presence.

Hello! I'm interested in getting into the world of marine biology (honestly I'd be happy just working at an aquarium lol) but I have no idea where to start. Do you have any tips or useful info?
I actually got a question similar to this before! (Linked ^^)
Just in case the link is broken for any reason, here's a short list of recommendations I can give you regardless >u< 1. Take internships or volunteer at places! Paid internships are ideal, but much more rare because of how competitive the field can be, so be prepared to volunteer or intern without pay. Needless to say, have a second job that's your primary source of income while doing this. Hands-on experience working with animals is essential, and places are always hurting for volunteers. I recommend your local NOAA branch, or assisting college or grad school students with their research studies for practical field experience. This will help you figure out what you enjoy most about the job; And you're more likely to stumble upon openings when you're already present at a facility, and established a rapport with your colleagues!
2. That being said, your ultimate goal should be seeking some form of paid experience. Getting paid somewhere that is animal husbandry focused, even if it isn't your end goal marine bio job, WILL help immensely. I went far too long without knowing that whether or not you've been paid to do a job in marine biology/animal husbandry is a HUGE deciding factor in you being hired or turned away. It's the biggest middle finger in the industry that NOBODY tells you this is something they want to see on applications. I only found out because a staff member at a facility I worked for took pity on me, and told me directly when they rejected my interview for an official position. I had years worth of valuable internship experience and acquired a lot of hands-on skills for system tracing, animal handling and enclosure maintenance at accredited husbandry facilities, but apparently none of it counted until I had been paid to run the 50-square-foot fish department at a tiny Petco for 10 months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Guess the ghosting process starts early!
3. If you can afford it, get SCUBA certified. For any facility that involves in-water maintenance deeper than chest-height, you NEED to be on SCUBA. These facilities are very rarely qualified to give SCUBA certification themselves, so it's very common that being SCUBA certified will be a requirement on the job opening that you must fulfill outside of work prior to application. It doesn't need to be anything more than Open Water (aka Basic Diver) certification, and you do not need to buy your own gear, as facilities are more likely to provide their own equipment to prevent potential contamination issues. The important thing is that you get trained in how to assemble/disassemble/properly use gear, and practice emergency procedures for safety. At my current facility, we have annual refreshers on the safety procedures.
Hope this helps! I'm going to drink some water now xD

Shed Base Designs For Corner Spaces
Often forgotten when designing shed foundations are corner spots in the garden or backyard. Still, they offer great storage and organization possibilities. Building a solid, dependable base in these difficult areas is crucial to extending the life of your shed. Uneven ground and small room make corner regions difficult. Choosing the ideal Shed Foundations design means tackling these obstacles straight on. A solid foundation will enhance your space, assist water drain correctly, and increase durability.
Knowing How Critical A Correct Shed Base Is for Corner Spaces Why a strong foundation is so vital A solid base keeps your shed from sinking or moving over time. Should the ground not be flat, the building could be damaged or become skewed. Furthermore, a well-built base protects shed materials from ground water and insects. Years on end, this preserves everything inside and keeps it in great condition.
Corner spaces offer particular obstacles. Limited accessibility and acute angles make corner sites unique; therefore, you need a strategy that fits just right. Water can gather more readily, endangering damage and decay. Usually worst in corners, drainage should therefore be top priority to avoid water pooling.
Typical Shed Base Designs Appropriate for Corner Rooms Concrete Slab Foundations Corner sheds like concrete slabs very much. They are strong, endure years, and need little upkeep. Precast concrete panels fit precisely into limited or irregular spaces for tight corner projects. Concrete's stability makes it ideal for a foundation meant to last.
Wooden sleepers or frame bases
Heavy beams arranged in a framework shape constitute wooden sleepers. They can be changed for uneven terrain and are simple to build. Just be sure to treat the wood to avoid termites and decay. If you want a rapid installation and some design flexibility, these foundations are very good.
Shingle and Gravel Foundation Drainage is very well suited by loose gravel or shingle beds. They stop water from gathering at the foundation of your shed. Particularly in corner locations where room and water drainage are issues, this arrangement is perfect for temporary or semipermanent sheds. Make certain to flatten the gravel thoroughly and stomp it.
Paving and Patio Slabs Concrete or stone paving slabs provide a level, tidy foundation. Comes in many sizes and look great next to garden paths. Slabs should be level and stable when corner installing. Gravel or mortar can help avoid shifting over time.
Modular Shed Base Arrangements Prefabricated kits offer easy alternatives. Designed to fit corner locations effortlessly are these prefabricated bases. They may be modified to match the size and shape of your shed and are simple to set up. Particularly for difficult corner situations, search for companies providing durability and simple installation.
Tumblr media
Creative and Space Saving Base Designs for Corners raised deck platforms Putting your shed on a deck keeps it off damp ground and dry. Decks offer style and an added degree of protection against water damage in corner locations. They also let the Shed Bases be reached from various viewpoints.
Bases in Custom Shapes Custom shapes can sometimes fit odd corners rather well. Designing your foundation with poured concrete or flexible pavers can yield amazing results. In this manner, the shed elegantly embraces the angle instead of sticking out awkwardly.
Systems of interlaced paver Interlocking pavers are like large puzzle pieces; their tight fit enables adaptation to fit odd corner angles. These modular systems let one to rapidly assemble and can be disassembled or expanded upon as necessary.
Useful Advice For Setting Shed Bases In Corner Locations
Always start with a thorough ground check. Make sure the soil is compacted and stable.
Give special attention to drainage. Use gravel or artificial slopes to guide water away from the shed.
Stabilize the soil if it’s loose or muddy. Adding gravel or compacted soil makes a firm base.
Reinforce the foundation with rebar or ground screws if extra strength is needed.
Check local building codes before building to meet regulations.
Expert Insights And Real-World Examples
Particularly in difficult terrain, several landscaping experts suggest tailored corner shed designs. To maximize corner space, homeowners have expertly utilized poured concrete and modular paver systems. For their longevity and eco friendliness, novel materials like repurposed plastic sleepers are becoming well known. The duration of your shed depends on good planning and selecting the right base.
Conclusion
Choosing the correct shed base for corner locations will help you to maximize available room and safeguard your shed. Each alternative has advantages, whether you choose prefab systems, wood, gravel, or concrete. Careful planning, attention to drainage, and expert advice can transform a tiny, clumsy corner into a stylish storage center. Your shed should be a long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing complement to your garden that runs well for years to come.

Accelerating Summer Projects: How Navnirman’s Modular Formwork Enhances Efficiency
Tumblr media
Summary
This blog examines how Navnirman’s modular formwork systems advance construction in peak summer seasons through increased speed, safety, and ease of use. Through their ease-of-use and reusable nature, these systems enable quicker assembly and less rework, enabling tight summer construction deadlines to be met without sacrificing quality. Improved labor productivity and cleaner, safer worksites are delivered by Navnirman through its efficient solution to summer project acceleration and modular formwork efficiency in contemporary construction.
Construction summer isn’t all sunburn and lemonade breaks — it means ticking clocks, tight deadlines, and aggressive schedules. Since the summer months bring ideal daylight and dry conditions, it’s the best time to construct. That brings with it the pressure of delivering faster, smarter, and without compromising on quality. Enter Navnirman’s modular formwork systems as a secret weapon for effortless, rapid summer builds.
The Summer Rush: How Timelines Play an Even Greater Role in the Heat
Summer in the construction industry is like a runaway train — full speed ahead. Workers scramble to get as much work done as possible before the monsoons hit or the holiday season starts. Summer timelines, however, are not to be taken lightly. Miss one window and your entire timeline may go down in flames.
This is precisely the reason why construction companies are now turning towards efficient construction techniques that assist in accelerating the workflow without sacrificing safety and quality. And one of the strongest technologies in this fight? Modular formwork efficiency, fueled by Navnirman.
Get to Know the Game-Changer: Navnirman’s Modular Formwork Systems
Now, let’s discuss technology. Navnirman modular systems are really plug-and-play systems for concrete construction. Built to be fast, easy, and strong, these systems cut time spent assembling, disassembling, and reusing formwork from one pour to the next. Rather than struggling with cumbersome material and slow labor-intensive methods, crews can snap pieces together like a grown-up LEGO set — but much more rugged.
The icing on the cake? The systems are so user-friendly that your staff doesn’t need a rocket science degree to work with them. That’s an instant boost to productivity and morale (because who doesn’t love avoiding unnecessary hassle?).
Efficiency on Overdrive: From Foundation to Finish
Let’s be honest — time is money. Each hour saved on the job site is money in the bank, particularly on bigger jobs. Navnirman’s modular systems are built to enable you to pour, cure, and advance quicker than the conventional method. This places them among the best rapid construction methods for today’s hectic schedule.
The simplified installation process results in fewer delays and less downtime. With regular form quality and dimensional integrity, there’s also reduced rework. And reduced rework means fewer headaches. From basement foundations to high-rise floor slabs, these systems enable projects to progress like clockwork — even during the summer sun.
Modular Formwork Efficiency = Smarter Labor Management
It’s not all about the framework — it’s about the individuals constructing it. The shortages of labor are a real issue, particularly for the peak seasons. Navnirman’s modular systems ease the burden by making the process faster and more efficient for smaller crews. You accomplish more with less hands, and those hands aren’t incinerating themselves under pressure (or in heat).
This type of summer project ramp-up enables firms to accept more projects without pulling their labor too thin. It’s human-focused vs. productivity — and that equates to better, more productive construction crews.
Why Modular Wins: Speed is Just the Beginning
Speed is wonderful. But speed and consistency? That’s gold. Navnirman’s formwork does not only assist you in building quickly — it assists you in building well. Precise manufacturing results in consistent outcomes, and the reusable system enables sustainability (yes, green building can happen quickly too).
In addition, modular formwork is designed to reduce material loss, decrease reliance on wood, and decrease site litter — all of which help to create a cleaner, safer job site. So you’re not only completing your summer building schedules, you’re establishing new standards for intelligent building.
Conclusion : Build Fast, Build Smart with Navnirman
In conclusion, Navnirman modular systems are precisely what summer construction requires — cool, fast, and quality-guaranteed. It does not matter whether you’re on a tight deadline, dealing with lean crews, or just don’t want to fall into conventional methods’ pitfalls, modular formwork provides you with the advantage.
So as the summer sun blazes and your projects heat up, know that with Navnirman, you’re equipped for success. You’ll finish faster, build stronger, and enjoy the satisfaction of a job done right — without the stress.
