born to aeternal parents! mom had superstrength like him and dad had some psionic power but they d*ed when he was p young so honestly he doesn’t know much ab them

anw he was a really difficult kid 👅 he’s always had this v destructive rage n coupled w his strength, it made it really hard for anyone other than his mom to handle and raise him which was obv limited bc she was busy w work

not to mention both his parents d*e when he’s ~4 when they’re off on aeternal duty and he basically gets promised a bunch of shit bc it made the people up there feel a lil better ab themselves ( spoiler alert: it’s all a load of bull espc when they find out he requires more attn than usual )

when they decide they’ve done enough for the guilt to subside, they send him off to live w his maternal grandmother in the jeong district who has superstrength too! she’s got a speech disability but even besides that she doesn’t rlly communicate w him much so it’s a huge contrast to how he was raised, espc since he alw found his mom’s voice v soothing 😩 she loves him a lot but she’s also old, tired, n did not sign up to raise a kid so whenever he misbehaves she j smacks him w a slipper n tells him like... stop tf lol

so yeah he gets a little out of hand... jaehyun feels a lot of entitlement and it comes from what he perceives as being robbed by life!! like before his parents kicked the bucket he was on track yknow, had great, respectable parents who raised him the way he needed to be, lived in aeternity homes up in posh elysium hill, people prob cooed at him as a kid n one day he’s tossed to the jeong district n people r lookin at the kid like he’s a dirty thieving rat and on top of that, the authorities assure him it’s fine, he’ll be taken care of, everything’s going to be ok then peaced out so yeah he’s gonna feel a lil angry

so anw this entitlement led to him stealing a Lot and there’s two npcs ( aeternity mako and aeternity tekki ) who are alw on his case!!! aeternal mako knew his parents so he’s a lil softer on jaehyun, kinda reprimands him when he’s caught stealing but doesn’t rlly lodge much of a report, but aeternal tekki is a bit weirder n likes to pick on kids bc he's got nothing better to do w his life and is a loser

jae’s 17 when he gets locked up and it’s bc he stole aeternal tekki’s car cause fuck that guy : ) aeternal mako’s retired by this point so jae gets no mercy in aeternal tekki’s hands and he’s sent to the correctional facility for a year

comes out and realises how much harder life can be now that he’s got mark on his record : ( to his credit, he manages to get a job in the junkyard and works for his grandma’s bakery ( this one is more like a favour, he doesn’t accept anyth she pays him ) and eventually finds out ab daemon’s underground fighting ring! alm kills a guy on his first day but he’s so strong the people love him so they pay him big bucks to come back

but yeah the younger sib of the fighter he nearly kills finds him and tries to beat him up in his rage n sorrow n jae isn’t careful enough w his strength, so he accidentally hurts the kid while defending himself and gets caught on one count of assault + using his unlicensed powers ( wild considering he can’t turn it off n it literally is part of him but anw ) n gets sent back to the correctional facility for 3y, considering his prev record

when he comes out he finds out a lot of shit has changed in 3y, his grandma had to sell her bakery bc her competitor was spreading rumours that her grandson was out here beating up kids do yall rlly wanna support a bakery that supports that wack so her business dwindled n she needs to sell the bakery or it’ll put her in debt : ) jae feels hella guilty for being the cause of it n for not being there when it mattered, so he tries to teach em a lesson and pummels the ground until there’s a lil earthquake n the bakery’s levelled

so yea h he’s back in the correctional facility for 6y and is prob threatened w banishment if he ever fucks up again!! not in the bio but his grandma had a stroke while he was in the correctional facility so now he’s trying to be on his best behaviour bc he doesn’t wanna be banished from eden and not be there to care for her....... yeah </3

present day he’s a junkyard worker still since they’re basically the only ones who’ll give him work!! he also fights in daemon and he’s actly rlly good bc of his strength, so he’s paid rlly well there but it’s mostly going to his grandma’s hospital bills ♡

in terms of personality i would say jae has rlly poor impulse control and it does not take even the daftest person v long to realise he’s got some anger issues..... maybe it’s the way he speaks like he’s spitting or the way he says fuck like every sentence,, or it’s def his reputation if ur muse knows of it

jae is rlly in his mind his business era but if u piss him off he will have a personal vendetta against u... like honestly a lot of the shit he does is not so much j reactive but it’s bordering on j... unnecessary? like he did not need to go n make an earthquake j cause they spread some rumours n he did not need to be stealing cars j bc the person who owns it looked at him the wrong way so yeah he’s a bit of a drama king

he’s also sorta egotistical, cannot be held accountable for anyth ever so yeah he’s a real hit w the ladies bc let’s not pretend we don’t know it’s the toxic men that have our queens in a chokehold

i realised i haven’t said a single pro so uhm... he’s a family guy, rlly into the found family aesthetic too n u know criminals do those best ♡ their kinship is unmatched nth brings people together better than being on the run

gets in trouble w the law r e g u l a r l y so uhm aeternals wya!! u don’t even gotta be dealing w him specifically like he will give u the stink eye for even existing in his general space </3 ik his parents were aeternals but trust me the logic checks out

honestly jae knows abysmally little ab his parents but it’d be cool to see an aeternal or j someone else who sorta,, knows more ab them?? it could move into a sorta confidant relo where he hears all ab his parents from ur muse ( sorta the wow u are so much like ur mom and jae doesn’t react but deep down he’s crying bc he alw saw his parents as angels n he clearly is uhm... not ) or it could turn sorta nasty ( like u r their kid? how did u go so wrong tf ) j anyth rlly!!

he works in a junkyard so who needs scraps, he’s ya man!!

also brings some salvageable parts over to spark repairs too!! he’s a huge car dude and he doesn’t rlly know enough to be a mechanic but he’s honestly keen to learn, even considering swapping his junkyard job to b a mechanic so!! anw who works there pls take him under ur wing ty

he’s also a daemon fighter so imma need all the daemon fighters to line up under this post so they can measure dick sizes who’s winnin, who’s losin, who’s teamed up n who’s sworn enemies get in line

he’s spent a total of 10y in the correctional facility so he prob would’ve met anyone who’s been locked up too!! i imagine jae was sorta minding his business but i can def see him being part of a clique ( yknow how prisons have those ) so yeah!! was ur muse part of his or against?? or j a nomad??

speaking of correctional facility, he prob also spent a lot of time in community service @ butterfly island so!!! anyone who has any business there hmu!!

i’d love to see some childhood friends from elysium hill, like maybe both ur parents were aeternals or smth n u guys were besties n now ur life trajectory is so diff... it’d be cool to explore this contrast!!

alternatively would love to see high sch friends from the jeong district!! jae is rlly extroverted and he was those kids who bullies other kids into letting him copy their hw, blatantly disrespects the teacher n is havin a nine course feast at the back of the class, skips sch regularly ( he could even have convinced ur muse to skip class back in the day teehee )

i’d also love to see someone who cared for jae’s grandma when he was alw away @ the correctional facility!! maybe yall met when she was still running her bakery n shit but i thought it’d be a really cute connection to have!!

good morning everyone! i’m very excited to be here and to write with everyone 💫 i go by alice ( she/her, utc+3 ) and this is aeternal six, kim seoyun! plotcall & info below the cut:

KIM SEOYUN ‘SIX’ – 22 – AETERNAL TASK FORCE

born and raised in the jeong district, old gwangjin. has two younger step-brothers and her step-dad stuck around intermittently until she was ~13 so mostly it was her and her mom

meaning mostly it was just her, because her mom worked in elysium hills to make sure they weren’t as destitute as some of their neighbors. on the contrary, they had it quite good

kids being kids, seoyun never really took notice and was more occupied with doing the perfect backflip onto a decrepit mattress in the junkyard (or whatever kids do these days..)

most likely got her metahuman genes from her biological father and her mom kind of quietly assumed/hoped it would never come up since seoyun was a scrawny kid or whatever

well, it did come up and it was terrible. take one guess at how a kid finds out they have the power to predict their own death with a 6 second head start

assuming the whole ordeal made her feel sort of alone and isolated, which is surprisingly still possible in a two-room apartment with 3 other people living in it, she turned inwards/away from people and became more introverted during her early adolescence

a school counselor picked up on the vibe and put her onto the idea of training as an aeternal to make something of herself, and potentially expand her powers to be more useful 

not the advice she wanted at the time but boy did it have an impact

ff to current year and here she is, kim seoyun aka eternal six. freshly graduated member of the task force. doesn’t really like to front about her new status and finds it increasingly challenging to go back home and visit like everything’s still normal 

currently second-hand renting a one bedroom loft in metropolitan eden, very much blinded by the bright lights of the city and enjoying the rare moments when she gets to pretend she’s just a regular human living carefree in the big city

as a person: an idealist. somewhat melancholic. very genuine, almost naive. catholic levels of guilt over.. what exactly? surviving, having moved upward in society, etc etc. doesn’t talk about her powers. not the heroic type. 

as an aeternal: priority 1: follow procedure. a thinker not a fighter </3 doesn’t have much faith in her own judgement, so she tends to go by the book. always the good cop. has a very earnest belief in changing society from the inside out, blah blah. feels awkward in her uniform and definitely takes every bad faith argument against aeternals very personally.

hola nerds it’s gemma again 🤓 on today’s episode i present 2 u miss city gworl bae sumi! she’s a phd candidate enrolled in the joint program between snu and han pharmaceuticals so on the outside u may think she’s smart n has her life tgt, but in reality she’s a lil uhm *nicki minaj vc* messy 💅 also if u’ve read her powers u’ll notice that it reads like a literal demon ( s/o 2 the nara clan and don’t starve together for the inspo ) so u best believe ya girl sumi here is od’ing on ability suppressants bc she is truly not doin this shit today! imma place all further rambling under the cut for all u keen folk but otherwise, pls hit that LIKE to plot!! thank u lov u mwah ♡

grew up in rural andong! needless to say the view on metahumans there is not nearly as progressive bc it’s no eden! it’s not like metahumans are hated or anyth but as a lil context i do think religion and superstition would have a much bigger role in rural areas, similarly to our world today

anw sumi is the oldest of three siblings! she’s born to a human mother n a father who’s a silent carrier of the metahuman gene, so they were a lil shocked to find out that sumi’s got that sliver of gold in her eyes 🤓 in the end they can’t be too surprised tho, since her dad’s older sister is metahuman ( she’ll come into play later )

as a child, sumi has alw had a really overactive imagination and is v fearful of ghosts n the dark! v typical of lil children her age and her mom doesn’t bat an eye when she’s runnin 2 her parents room at night n tellin em there’s a monster under her bed... bc of this she alw sleeps w a nightlight but yknow this is still p normal, nothin out of the extraordinary

until her power manifests at 5 and weird shit starts happening... like mom walks in n finds the window in her and her brother’s ( subin’s ) room wide open when both her children r too short to reach it, or subin is claiming that sumi beheaded his teddy bear n she’s crying n saying she didn’t do shit tf the ghost did it!! her mom is getting hella spooked n is like yknow what imma go see a shaman

the shaman tells sumi’s mom that sumi is haunted and her bad dreams of ghosts n shit r a bad omen, and that it is likely that her close family members will suffer bad health if they don’t ditch her ass

sounds ridic wtf but also she’s gettin rlly... scared of sumi n she’s not doin a v good job of hiding it... it gets worse when one night she hears her son crying n screaming n when she rushes to their room she sees him FLOATING n notices that sumi’s shadow seems to have stretched n merged w subin’s n she screams

sumi’s mom is rlly not doin well at this point... she has 0 idea what to do n she’s hella scared of sumi until her dad is like wait maybe sumi’s not actually haunted mayb it’s her power? regardless, both of them do not know how to raise a metahuman kid and time is ticking bc they’re afraid sumi’s gna k*ll subin n them w her shenanigans, so they decide that the best course of action is to ship sumi off to live w her metahuman aunt in eden

so now sumi’s livin w her aunt who she’s never met her entire life other than like a facetime every now n then! her aunt is a certified Cool Aunt, has divination as a power n is single n v happily childfree, so she has 0 clue how 2 raise a kid but she’s doin this bc thru her ability to see into the future, she realises that sumi has a.... bigger problem than her powers: that’s right the bitch is a pyromaniac n her parents were so concerned ab her powers that they missed all the warning signs! the stolen lighters.... the hidden ashes in the flower pot that’s actually burnt origami that sumi brought home from sch... the shaman was right sumi would’ve brought em “bad health” by accidentally burnin the whole house down!!!! 

her aunt doesn’t rlly bother telling her parents this tho bc she doesn’t wanna spook them further ( according 2 her they are rolls eyes easily scared so it’s no wonder sumi’s inherited this ) n there was no way they were goin 2 b able to overcome their fears to raise sumi not necessarily right, but like.... without death so she’s like it’s me who’s gotta do it 

to sumi’s defense she became a pyromaniac out of fear of the dark n fire brought a lot of comfort 2 her n it was to the point where whenever she felt scared ab anyth in general she would feel this intense need to light a fire bc somehow she would feel protected by it n that nth could hurt her bc the fire would protect her

anw sumi’s mom says this solution is only temporary but she keeps postponing the date she’s gna come take sumi back so ig sike sumi’s aunt is rlly j her mom now n that’s on that w abandonment issues

it’s for the better tho bc sumi’s aunt is like objectively the better parent tho she doesn’t rlly treat sumi like her kid, kinda is more like an older sis figure!!

so back 2 sumi’s upbringing, her aunt lets her run around the house for a bit n realises that bc she’s alone now n in a new place, her shadow is acting up even more as she sleeps w her nightlight n turnin it off is not an option bc sumi will start 2 cry n want to light fires!!! bit of a catch22 so the aunt decides 2 tackle the easier problem first n buy her ability suppressants so she can at least sleep w her nightlight on!!

w ability suppressants it all starts to go rlly well, sumi’s aunt j predicts when she’ll light fires w her divination n manage to put a stop to it ( she’s not alw successful ofc... sumi ends up accidentally burning the tent she bought for performing gut rituals and other shit but.. the good news is most irreversible damage has been prevented )

it’s rlly j a cat n mouse between her n her aunt n this continues well into her teenage years until she’s sorta calmed down a bit!! fires still bring her a lot of peace and she still lights em every now and then, but she mostly is able to ignore the impulse unless she’s goin thru some like... really bad shit in her life then she’ll start planning fires n it all gets a lil out of control

anw sumi has alw been rlly intelligent and one thing she’s rlly passionate ab is nvr having 2 be around ghosts ( e.g. her shadow ) so she studies metahuman biology in snu as an undergraduate then masters n now she’s doin her phd in metahuman biology!! her research project is on trying 2 make ability suppressants more efficacious ( like safely increasing duration n potency ) n she’s enrolled in a joint program between snu n han pharmaceuticals!! her goal is 2 create a cure that can make her powers disappear permanently ( ty rogue 4 the inspo )

uhh this was a lot of rambling im sry... a lil ab her personality: rn sumi is at the phase of her life where it’s like falling apart but she’s pretending everything is totes fine : ) she’s drinking on a tuesday night n turning up to lab hungover n giving talks ab her project like sis is rlly not doin well... anyone who’s known sumi outside of work will b able to tell she is messy as shit BUT SHE’S FINE!!

she’s also v impulsive n will do things on a whim,, like imagine she’s tellin u she has a deadline to meet at 12pm tmr but it’s 2am n she’s in the club n she apparently hasn’t started but it’s FINE!!! will tell u she’s completely over her ex then ask u if ur still awake n to pls pick her up from his house at 2am but yknow what it’s FINE

if anyone insists 2 know sumi will tell u she’s j a bad luck charm ( aka the jinx ability where she brings everyone around her bad luck n it can’t be turned off )

another BEAT plot: she also cries in the club n cries outside the club so like if ur muse happens 2 walk into that...... idk where this would go but i promise u she would tell u she’s fine her life is poppin but we all know it’s bad when she’s lying to her therapist

being a student at snu n han pharma, it’s likely that if ur muse frequents the place or works there, she’ll likely bump into u!! or if ur muse is a journalist who’s tryna get an inside scoop of what’s happenin at han pharma... sumi knows nth ab the human trials but imagine if one of the researchers working on it was also named sumi n u mistake her for that person 🤡

speaking of snu n han pharma imagine if u only know sumi only in a professional context n think she’s v professional and j an upright citizen,, then there’s some work occasion where ur all gathered 2 meet in a casual setting n there’s alcohol involved n now she’s drunk off her ass n she tells u to pls help sneak her out bc she’s 100% she saw her colleagues staring n judging her

sumi’s aunt used to take her to the children’s park quite a bit when she was p young so!! if ur muse is born 94-98 n also went to the children’s park a lot, maybe they could b childhood friends who met there!!

yeah so imagine sumi starts a fire somewhere n it starts gettin out of hand,,, this can be literally anywhere secluded in the city but uhm pls help she is basically a human w the amount of ability suppressants she’s on she can’t stop this fire

sumi’s also got a burn mark on her forearm from one time when she got hurt from a fire she started!! i assume she went to the hospital for it n the timeline of this is flexible, but if ur muse works at the hospital, mayb she was assigned as their patient n her aunt confessed that she was a pyromaniac that’s how this happened?? this part of her is rlly hush hush n no one knows ab it other than her aunt ( not even her parents ) n sumi is v concerned ab appearing 2 b a certified Cool Girl n this is rlly not the vibe so like... wyd imagine she threatens u

sumi lives in jeoljeong highrises w her aunt!! yall could b neighbours it would b cute!!

honestly sumi is pretty unpredictable so she could turn up at lit any location i could find an excuse for anyth so uhm yeah hmu

aight uhm messy sumi time... so she is v reckless n is also goin thru a bit of a ho phase so imagine yall had a one night stand not knowing who tf u guys are n now u bump into each other in a professional setting or smth... 🥵 wyd r u pretending udk her

alternatively yall met on a dating app n either she unmatched u or u unmatched her ( maybe the sexual chemistry was hella off too ) but now u find out u have mutual friends n they wanna hang n ur at this awkward dinner tgt 🥶 wyd

- song taehyun, 28, currently mixing your drinks as a bartender at BEAT

- an eden native, born to two metahuman and aeternal parents who passed down the abilities of time manipulation and also spatial manipulation to him

- growing up, his parents and the entire aeternals team as well as zero were like his idols, he wanted to be just like them growing up, helping to fight crimes and act for the greater good

- things were looking good too because his abilities? they’d make him pretty damn powerful and helpful on a mission so he was ready to be enrolled in the aeternal training academy to really get into the nitty gritty of things

- that all changed when he was 16 and he was told his parents died during a mission :’)

- something felt super off about that though…didn’t feel like there was any sympathy towards him being a mere teen now left on his own after the death of his parents

- he started feeling more sus when he was told he needed to leave aeternity homes now that his parents are deceased because….what??? aren’t the homes supposed to be open to family of deceased aeternals too 😭

- the system shipped him off to his aunt and uncle so he said goodbye to his life in elysium hill just like that and he didn’t enjoy it one bit

- the once bright and happy teen now turned into someone who barely spoke a word, kept to himself and barely showed his face around his new home

- didn’t end up finishing high school as he was in just too much pain from the loss, and consequently didn’t go to university either but don’t take that as him being dumb because i promise you he isn’t!!

- you’ll most likely find him either at work or at home, maybe wandering f-mart at stupid o’clock because he probably just got off his shift and needs to buy groceries or just…straight up dinner

- chances are if you’re an aeternal he’ll think you’re the lowest of the low even if you’re new and definitely had no hand in the death of his parents but that’s for another day :’)

- currently living like crap with his cat at bulleog apartments but hey, you get by with what you can

- being from jeong district and born to a single mother who had her far too young, things weren't really that bright for hwang hyunhee. however, they always make tried their best even when they struggle to have food on the table. - things were alright until her mother suddenly was murdered in a dark alley. despite the thorough investigation, they could never found the killer and told her that her mother might have killed by an unknown gang that she worked for which didn't satisfy her at alll but what more could she possibly do when she was no more than 12 years old? - so her brother and her was then taken in by their aunt (her mother's sister) and her abusive husband which only turned out for the worse when her aunt's husband had begun taking his frustrations with the world out on her while her aunt did nothing to protect her. this of course doubled with the fact they were all suffering from poverty had some impacts on her mental and physical health which slowed downed her manifestation. which then caused the big incident in which she might have accidentally murdered her uncle by accident when she was trying to protect her brother. - she got arrested and only had to spent 2 years in the jeong district correctional facility because of the evidences (she believes that some of them people might just really pity her). got convinced by her counselor to go for the aeternal training and four years later, here she is. -always has a resting emotionless expression on her face every day. - doesn't do well regarding with her emotions as she's mostly used to shutting them down, she's also used to schooling her expressions into indifference when growing up. - she's extremely quiet to the point some might think she's mute due to her - didn't really choose to be an aeternal for noble reasons as she only wanted to be one for the benefits, great pay salary and job security. - some would say that she might got off the rehabilitation center a little too easy and especially when she even managed to graduate from the academy even with her record (everyone only knows that she's a inmate from jeong district correctional facility, but doesn't know what she's convicted for) which obviously causes rumors to run rampant. - she too doesn't know why are her counselors are incredibly invested in her but she herself doesn't dare to question them because genuinely, she thinks things are already going so well for her and she's not willing to risking everything she worked so hard for. better for them to favour her than her getting their animosity. even now, she still works with her counselors a lot, especially regarding counselling sessions. - she keeps both her aeternal identity and her personal identity separate for the sake of safety of her brother. - as an aeternal, she's very professional and prefers to keep things that way as she doesn't really allow people to mix business and personal together. - due to her past, she's usually very obedient to any authoritative figures just so she wouldn't get in trouble. - with her new job as an aeternal, she's aiming to get full custody of her brother and be his legal guardian so she can take him out of the jeong district and provide a better life for him so all of you might see her and her brother together a lot as she's trying to get him adjust to his new environments and surroundings. - her being around her brother is probably the only time you might even see her being very expressive with her emotions for once.. especially when they both share extremely different personalities from each other. (he's an enfp and she's an intj) - everything she does and worked so hard for is for her brother so never mess with him, otherwise she'll go berserk. -- doesn't like anyone touching her due to her past being abused frequently. and strangely, hyunhee absolutely detest the color red so you would never see her wearing any, not even  lipstick. if you ever want to get close to her, better not wear the color red. (she doesn't do well with seeing blood either) - despite her rather aloof demeanor, she's actually quite a gentle person, especially with children, which is ironic considering her powers.

twenty-four years old, born to parents who both are present as doctors at old seoul national university hospital. both metahuman, his father is able to slow down the rate of his heart to obtain ultimate precision in his motions, while his mother is able to, through touch, detect and diagnose any medical conditions or states. 

he was always expected to follow in their footsteps, and oh, what joy they all felt when siwoo bloomed a budding flower he had picked in his hands one day. and through his joy and his fear and his amazement and maybe some rage, too, rage that all that his parents had been telling him you’re going to heal, siwoo, you’re going to do good, siwoo, immediately watches it disintegrate in the next moment. the fall of their faces, the dismay of the ash on his fingers, how it blew away to the wind but he felt.. bright, in the aftermath. 

it leads to his parents dismissing the decay for the rest of his life in the light of his ability to heal. think moira from overwatch and rapunzel from tangled with a little bit of a remix, in which he is able to control any living thing’s vitality. every living being has an ideal state and amount of vitality that he is able to either TAKE or GIVE. 

TAKING vitality through DECAY, he gains vitality but drains it from the source, resulting in a quantifiable excess that siwoo can carry with him that is separate from his own vitality. 

GIVING vitality through HEAL, he drains the vitality that he has in excess and gives it to the source through touch. once he runs out of the excess he has stored from DECAY, it begins to drain from his own vitality. when he is drained of excess vitality and remaining with his own, he experiences symptoms similar to lack of sleep and becomes extremely weak, and it is visibly recognizable. 

DECAY is when siwoo is at his most powerful and energized, and the process of decay is represented in a spread of darkness through his hair, irises, the tips of his fingers and down his hands, and through his veins. he TAKES and GIVES in EQUAL amounts. 

HEAL is visibly represented by a distinct glow in the same representative places as DECAY, even though once the ability has ceased, he is quantifiably drained for all that he has given. 

when HEALING, he is able to phantom feel whatever the symptoms of the source are in the same places and in the same intensities, and through his own medical knowledge, diagnoses what he feels. HEAL seeks to restore the source’s original and ideal vitality, of which everyone’s varies, and will do so in whatever means will properly return the source to that state. 

it may take siwoo several sessions of HEAL to attempt to return the source to its ideal vitality, and through each drain of vitality siwoo has in excess, he will have to use DECAY in order to replenish. if he repeats the cycle in high frequency without rest, the amount that he is able to DECAY to store for HEAL depletes. 

his parents have always condemned the fact that siwoo must DECAY to HEAL, and so he mainly keeps to himself for the process, and usually uses plants in order to replenish his vitality so that he can heal. 

this means his apartment is covered in plants. he grows them and usually tries to find ways to repurpose the ones he decays if they do not disintegrate completely in the process. along with his constant seeking of more of them, he’s usually seen with quick things to replenish himself when his vitality is low, especially after a day at work, consisting of chocolate and small flowers he keeps in his pockets. 

he’s an only child, and has mostly spent the majority of his life at the hospital since his parents constantly work. after studying to become a nurse, he’s biding his time to take over their positions as a doctor, and most of his time is spent trying to convince himself that his healing is good, even though he has to go through decay to be able to do it.

in his spare time, he tends to his plants and reads, and he usually tends to not share the DECAY part of his abilities when he’s asked, only focusing on the HEAL component.

hi everyone!! im lia (21+, they/them but any pronouns are ok!) and i couldnt prepare a pretty graphic weeps, but pls take choi rieun! i haven’t had the chance to write up a traditional biography yet, so you can find an informal rundown of his background under the cut! im happy to plot through here, but i also have d!scrd if anyone prefers that. his plots somehow? are done on time? so they’re there for inspo but i’ll also be snooping through everyone’s plots for material to craft some evil and possibly painful nice possible connections for us to write up : ]

currently works at the jeong district’s f-mart, come bother him <3 and if you’re in the right place at the right time, you might see him fighting in the ring at daemon. despite his....uh, general demeanor, some part of him still actually believes in the aeternals, so . kicks rock

born may 2, 1998 to two very loving parents, two metahumans living in “the maw” in the jeong district. although now he’s pretty caustic, dry humored, and easily irritated, he used to be a quiet, placid child.

his mother had avian physiology and could manifest wings, while his father was able to harden his skin into silver. rieun was born with the ability to manifest wings, but thanks to his father, he also inherited traces of silver in his blood that’s been slowly, quietly building up and toxifying his bloodstream since birth. fun!

at first, it’s bearable. then he’s six, and his wings manifest for the first time, and they’re downy and soft just like his mother’s, except he’s absolutely wailing in pain and scratching at shoulders like he’s trying to claw out of himself.

it turns out that the silver doesn’t actually let him transform like his father’s ability, but something reacts when he protracts and retracts his wings -- it triggers a burning sensation “under his skin” from all of that silver coursing in his veins.

his parents, horrified by something they blamed themselves for, start looking for options. maybe the aeternals forget about people like them, but that only lets them stay better under the radar. they hear word of clinical trials for some kind of serum, something that’s supposed to enhance someone’s regeneration. all they want in return is data. that’s doable, surely. it’s more affordable than a hospital visit or physical therapy. they’ll save up for that eventually; this is just a temporary solution.

and so for his seventh birthday, rieun gets his first dose of something he’ll come to call his medicine -- the magic dose that puts out the fire in his veins and lets him uncurl his wings without them feeling like a punishment.

then puberty hits, and the pain becomes near unbearable. streaks of silver start appearing over his arms, down his back -- over time, he realizes that they’re imprints of his wings when they’re folded within him, like a sprawling silver tattoo, and they ripple every time he unfurls his wings like they’re shifting under his skin. even his feathers have started to stain silver, a side effect of the overexposure. it’s beautiful. it’s fucking agony. one attempt at physical therapy proves to be not enough -- only the medicine makes it better.

he starts getting into fights. it’s just stupid, pointless street ones at first. at times, he thinks he’s playing hero -- other times, he thinks it’s just to distract him from that heat always simmering under his skin.

then someone introduces him to daemon, tells him he could actually maybe do something with that itch for a distraction. he tries a few fights, gets the shit beaten out of him every time. his parents are terrified of how he comes home. he keeps going back anyway.

may, 2017. his eighteenth birthday. he comes home, and the front door’s ajar. a second later, his parents are being led out by two aeternals. arrested on multiple counts of theft and possession of illegal substances, they say, and nothing more. suddenly he’s left to fend for himself, and it isn’t long before he runs out of that medicine his parents left him with.

he does some digging, but his parents, aside from whatever slip that landed them behind bars, have been meticulous; there’s no trace of where or who they were getting his medicine from. 

then someone comes banging on the door one night, demanding for his parents and demanding payment -- and then it’s four am, two steps away from his own house, rieun is hauling his sprained ribs and bloody mouth from the ground to bandage his wounds and come to terms with the fact that his parents had been involved in the fucking black market.

so they’ve been racking up debts to support the family this whole time. all right, fantastic. he gets a job. two jobs. then one again, when he can’t handle it. his body burns all of the time, he doesn’t know how he’s supposed to do this on his own.

gets licensed bc keeping his wings in for extended periods of time actually worsens the pain, thanks to all that silver that’s imbued in them now. leaving them out is massively inconvenient and is another kind of pain -- shit’s heavy!! -- so really he’s in a catch-22 of constant physical discomfort lol.

he keeps searching. there’s more of this...medicine. this serum, though different people call it different things. has different effects. some of them ease the pain, some of them make him stronger. none of them last long enough. his job isn’t enough; he starts dropping by daemon again---out of necessity, he tells himself, so he can keep himself well, so he can get his parents out someday.

he loses. he loses a lot. then, one night, he doesn’t rein back his wings, and it turns out that he can concentrate so much better when half of him isn’t busy holding them in, and-- some feathers have hardened now, sharp enough to slice. he finds this out the hard way.

his wings start to look less beautiful. feathers start to loosen easily -- the rest of his wingspan is a strange amalgamation of downy white and stiff silver. many of the ones that have turned completely silver are chipped, scuffed from fights.

he has to be smart about his fights -- outlast than overpower, react rather than attack. an inconsistent method that heavily depends on him lucking out with the right opponent, but he starts winning a little more often. they call him silver sparrow, but most of his opponents have worse names like filthy fucking cheat, but his wings are a part of him. they’re not separate weapons, see?

he fights for the money, not the title. he just needs enough to afford the next dose so the pain of his wings doesn’t drive him insane, and to save up gradually to afford his parents a new, clean chance at life.

may, 2022. his parents are due for another hearing soon; they might be released earlier than their sentence. rieun, older now and both weaker and stronger, promises them he’s going to get them out, and he’s going to make sure they won’t have to worry about a thing for the rest of their lives.

then the scandal hits, and his parents’ trials are cancelled for some reason. this serum---it’s meant to enhance an aeternal’s strength, their abilities, their regeneration. they’ve been testing on people, they say. it’s inhumane, they say. they’re going to find out who’s involved, they say. he suddenly remembers being seven and afraid, his mother stroking his hair, telling him he’s braver than any of those heroes.

he's afraid to find out what kind of legacy he’s been left with, but it’s starting to look like he won’t have a choice.

other symbie facts! yubi’s personality fluctuates depending on what kind of ink yuram uses to build them up, but they’ve got a solid lawful good base. they aren’t always awake; if there’s too little ink on yuram, the symbiote just hibernates/goes dormant. they communicate telepathically but yubi can either borrow yuram’s mouth or pass notes to other people to talk to them. their big venom form is a huge mass of inkperson, pitch black; kinda scary but they only use that form for sneaking around, non-combative even though yuram wishes they were. ( but someday... 😉 )

inna was born to a big shot lawyer at cha & sohn and stay at home wife. she enjoyed a cushty set up in elysium hill albeit what went on behind closed doors wasn’t exactly idyllic

her father was pretty abusive towards her mother, which had a lot to do with his intense self-loathing (he couldn’t understand why metahumans showed off their abilities and concealed his own) so any time the mother or inna would show their powers, chaos would ensue

inna would often patch her mother up after his tirades and would cast an illusion to provide momentary escape. in this way, her mother relied on her tremendously

over time inna’s hatred began to fester and in any heightened state of emotion, her intrusive thoughts ‘leak’ out of her musing and manifest as illusions. one morning, she envisions her father’s death and it plays out before his eyes. her mother suffers from this blight as she usually does and this sort of cycle lasts into inna’s adolescence

as a teenager she would try to escape her home situation a lot by staying out until late hours, chilling with older kids with bad intentions, taking drinks and cigs from whomever offered. no matter what though she would get home just in time to care for her mother in whatever capacity she needed her to

on a rare morning, when inna’s mother goes away for a day trip, father tries to attack her and in a panic she casts an illusory loop of his demise, only she’s unable to turn it off and her father witnesses his end through various macabre scenes. he’s driven mad and basically gouges his eyes out in an attempt to stop the visions. their neighbours find inna huddled in the corner of the room

she’s promptly arrested and her father’s colleagues handle the case. in court, they distort the truth and her mother testifies against her. the jury unanimously decides that she is too much of a threat to society and she’s given a pretty long sentence

atp inna is pretty much over human/metahumankind but in the facility she hits rock bottom and truly finds herself in the aftermath

after a few years, she develops a hunger to be free and amongst the people however her counsellor makes it pretty clear that her sentence won’t be reduced but if she were to dedicate herself to the cause there might be an exception. the system kind of manipulates her into lending her abilities to the cause because why would she choose the facility over the glory of becoming an aeternal, a second chance

she embarks on the transition to aeternal route where she hones her ability and puts her all into becoming all that is good. she’s heavily scrutinised (any slip up can lead to her going back to the facility to be reformed) so in the name of coping, she kind of distances herself from truly feeling anything

she has her doubts but she perseveres on this path, hoping that eventually all of this will fall into place once she’s on the outside

so she’s here and tbh she hasn’t really figured it all out yet. sometimes being an aeternal feels more like a sentence than the actual time she did in the facility. but she’s trying to make things work, finding purpose in her everyday

the aeternal who killed his wife simply slapped an nda down & sent him off with a whole lotta money in exchange for his silence. it’s confusion & uncertainty & a considerable amount of pressure placed on him to sign that’s the reason he agrees to it, but now that the dust has settled, he’s starting to question... everything, really

so now he’s struggling to reconcile what he believed about the world, his trust in aeternals & the good of people shaken up totally. it’s starting to affect his job too, questioning what he’s told in his sessions with aeternal clients & having to pull himself back from it, because he still wants to do good somehow & he used to think this was the path for him but—is it?

the boys / anti-aeternals agenda—part of his ( non- ) healing has been thinking about taking revenge on the aeternals & he entertains thoughts of actually seeking help, until. he actually does contact them & now he’s not sure what to do

siblings—i don’t see him as an only child, though he was quite an independent kid. as his now only family in the city, though, i think he’d rely a lot on his sibling

good friends—someone who knows just how badly he’s doing & checks up on him once in a while / is trying to help him process this healthily, even tho he’s fighting accepting their help

aeternal clients—i imagine it’s a small-ish psych unit, so he’s familiar with a lot of the aeternals, even if he doesn’t work directly with them! might even just see a couple as work buddies instead of clients? although their interactions now are tense & often angrier than they’re used to him being...
