Nothing like an Australian summer 😅 like how is it normal that it’s 38 degrees one day and raining for the next 5 after????

I want to start going outside, exercising and reading more. But it’s spring here and if anyone knows how awful Queensland summer is…well…you know😵‍💫

to any aussies...

with the weather heating up, just a reminder to:

drink plenty of water

put water outside for any stray animals and wildlife (make sure the water is fresh and clean everyday)

wear sunscreen and a hat if you go out into the sun (and don't forget to reapply sunscreen if you are going to be out all day and it's required)

try and stay out of direct heat

make sure your phone and any other necessary devices are fully charged

if your state has an emergency app, download it or check it's up to date

have a bag packed and ready to go in case you need to leave quickly in the event of a nearby fire or bushfire

edit: a few more things...

don't overexert yourself and if you can, keep any activity to a minimum especially when you are outside

be mindful of the symptoms of heat stroke & heat exhaustion

read up on the fire danger warnings and look at what specifically you are not allowed to do outdoors (aka no bbq or using power tools etc.)

don't leave anyone in the car (that goes for children, elderly, pets etc.)

be careful taking your dog for a walk as the pavement could cause burns

be careful of how hot the roads will be

turn off any appliances and power points that you are not using

Meanwhile in brissy it’s 30.9 degrees at nearly 4:30pm 🙃 the top was 38 degrees in my area

i was supposed to go to the tennis today lol but refused and have spent my whole day in bed with my electric blanket on bcus i literally can’t manage to get warm
