Note
So I recently got into Helldivers 2 and, man, I DESPERATELY NEED to get absolutely WRECKED by some Automatons. I desire them CARNALLY in ways that are hard to describe.
Like just chain me up in the middle of an outpost and kickstart a 100-to-1 marathon gangbang at the hands of these gorgeous machines. Hulks, Troopers (hot), Berserkers (hotter), Devastators (HOTTEST) - any of them, all of them, I just need them crowding up against me until they overwhelm all of my senses while fucking me absolutely SENSELESS with their unrelenting mechanical cocks -

mr. snap, if you would be so kind, please post the new magneto lore entry for those of us who suck at vidya and don't play rivals 🥹
Marvel Rivals Hero Lore Magneto Story #2 - "The Battle Within"
Full story below the cut:
Magneto hovered high above the nation of Krakoa. He had lived through more than his share of wars, but as he gazed down at the Mutant homeland below, he could barely begin to comprehend the full scope of the horrors unfolding o his own sovereign soil. Still, it was not as if he hadn't seen this coming...
When Emma Frost has first approached the Quiet Council with the idea of reviving her Hellfire Gala in the futuristic era that Mutantkind now called home, Magneto immediately voiced his reservations. He feared that some unknown force might try to take advantage of his people's hospitality to further their anti=Mutant agenda. With all eyes on their emerging nation, he knew they would have to tread extremely carefully. Still, he gave Emma his vote and let plans move forward, holding onto faith that he and his fellow X-Men would be able to take on any threat this new world could throw at them. What he failed to realize was that the biggest threat to Krakoa wouldn't come from Earth... at least not directly...
After the Gala began, the Krakoan gateways - which offered Mutants instant access to the island from various strategic points across the universe - were somehow hijacked by an invading army of artificial life forms led by the antagonistic android Ultron. As far as Magneto could tell from the mechanical madman's rantings, this version of Ultron had been built on Earth decades ago, but had subsequently been banished to the stars by the Avengers. Now, something had summoned Ultron back home, and he was determined to assimilate Earth into his growing cosmic empire during his visit. Krakoa was just another stop on his world domination tour. But if Magneto and his allies banded together and stopped Ultron now, it could very well be his last.
Chaos and carnage quickly erupted across the island as seemingly endless waves of Ultron's armed automatons arrived on the scene. AS most of the Mutant and human heroes who had assembled on Krakoa worked to fend off the streams of synthetic soldiers, Magneto turned his focus on finding the one true Ultron and ending his existence. And now, he had finally found his foe, who was currently distracted by the brutal attacks of a very angry Hulk dressed in the tatters of a suit. Magneto saw the opportunity to strike and seized it.
"No more, Ultron!" Magneto shouted as he rose into the air on a wave of magnetic force. "Krakoa is a free nation... and you shall not take it from us!"
Ultron didn't even bother to turn and look at Magneto. Instead, he dispatched dozens of his drones to attack the Mutant leader. But with just a wave of his hand, Magneto crumpled the legion of robotic soldiers into tiny spheres of scrap that rained down upon Krakoa's lush surface.
Magneto would not be insulted further by entertaining Ultron's puppet soldiers. He wished to face the true threat head on. He generated a massive sphere of magnetic energy between his hands, ready to unleash it at Ultron.
"Consider this battle--"
Before the Mutant Master of Magnetism could release his energy wave and complete his declaration of victory, he was unexpectedly hit with a powerful blast that seared a hole straight through his reinforced armor. It seemed that Ultron knew the threat Magneto posed after all, swiftly and silently removing his foe from the game board. As his body plummeted to the ground below, Magneto knew his battle was nearly over.
"Magneto!" Captain America yelled, racing over to aid his fallen Mutant ally. "Hang on soldier. We didn't both survive World War II only to be taken down by some rusty pile of--"
The Captain stopped himself suddenly . He had seen countless allies fall on the field of battle over his years in service, so he knew a fatal wound when he saw one. Magneto wouldn't last much longer.
"Do not fret, Captain," Magneto said, a strangely reassuring tone in his voice. "I have died... many times before... and this... won't be the last..."
As Captain America held Magneto in his arms, the Mutant leader's vision began to fade from red, white, and blue to a deep black.
--------------------
Many humans believe that a person's entire life flashes before their eyes in the seconds before their death. But the Mutants of Krakoa know otherwise. For them, their entire lives - every memory and every moment - flashes before their eyes in the seconds before their rebirth. This is a side effect of the Resurrection Protocols, a process in which a full scan of their minds is downloaded from Cerebro into a brand new body grown in the Krakoan Hatchery. It is a delicate process, but on that has given countless Mutants another chance at life. And today, that chance belonged to Magneto.
After what somehow seemed like both a split second and an eternity, the black of the void gave way to a blinding display of memories. Magneto saw his life as a young boy in Europe. His days as a prisoner in a concentration camp. The unexpected discovery of his mutant powers. His first meeting with Charles Xavier. The countless battles he fought for Mutant supremacy and, eventually, equality. And when his memories finally raced to the point where Ultron struck him down, Magneto emerged from his pod in the Hatchery, gasping for air, alive and whole once more.
Without a word or a moment of hesitation, Magneto used his powers to call forth the metallic elements buried in the Krakoan soil, fashioning himself a new suit of armor far more durable than his last. He then exited the Hatchery and headed to find Ultron. It would be easier to locate the villain this time, as Magneto had sensed a strange, otherworldly element in the alloy that covered the exterior of Ultron's frame. He honed in on that unique metallic signature and followed it to the heart of Krakoa, where he found Ultron swiftly approaching.
"Curious," Ultron said upon seeing Magneto alive and well. "I thought you life signs had been extinguished. When I detected your bio-signature suddenly return at another location, I had to investigate the anomaly."
"I am no anomaly," Magneto replied, hurling long spears of reshaped scrap metal toward Ultron at a furious speed. "Like so many of my Mutant brethren, I have simply been reborn."
"And you will be reborn once more," Ultron said, his devilish grin glowing in the darkness of the Krakoan jungle. "This time in my image."
Expecting a physical attack, Magneto erected an enormous metal shield in front of his body to protect himself from harm. But this time, Ultron released a cloud of techno-organic nano-bots that swiftly navigated past Magneto's shield and surrounded the Mutant's helmeted head. Magneto had already inhaled thousands of the microscopic machines before he could even think to create an electromagnetic aura around his body to repel them. Mere moments later. Magneto could already hear Ultron's voice buzzing inside of his head.
"Could this be...??" Ultron said, as his mind linked with Magneto's via the nano-bots' neural network. "Do you Mutants truly have a machine capable of resurrection? A way of growing powerful new bodies and downloading your consciousness into them? I simply must give it a test run!"
Magneto fought past the pain of his body's techno-organic invaders and reached out toward Ultron with all of his magnetic might. That much force should have instantly ripped Ultron asunder, but the sinister synthezoid's body barely bent.
The techno-organic virus I infected you with is programmed to prevent you from doing any harm to me,' Ultron gloated. "But even if it weren't, you powers would have little effect. My current form is forged of Mysterium. I've found it to be nearly immune to this planet's basic laws of nature and physics. Still, as impressive as that is, I can't help but wonder what my next body will be capable of. I have a feeling we'll find out soon enough..."
With that, Ultron departed, heading toward the Cradle where Cerebro was stored. Magneto tried to give chase, but found himself locked in a new war - one with his very own body. The machines in his bloodstream were swiftly replicating and seizing control. Because of their unique alien techno-organic composition, they contained almost no traces of magnetic metals, which meant that Magneto could not expel them from his body... a body they were claiming more and more of with each passing second.
For a moment, Magneto considered using his powers to impale himself on a metal pike, strategically triggering the Resurrection Protocols again so that he could be reborn in a body free of the virus. But if Ultron managed to get his hands on Cerebro, it could disrupt the entire process, making Magneto's next death - and the death of every other Mutant - far more permanent.
Instead, Magneto decided to forge ahead, struggling to make his way out of the dense jungle. Eventually, he found himself at the foot of a statue built in honor of Charles Xavier - the found of the X-Men and one of the driving forces behind the great nation of Krakoa. Magneto caught a glimpse of his reflection in the plaque at the statue's base. Nearly half of his body had already been converted into techno-organic matter by the virus, and it was spreading fast. Magneto gazed up at the larger-than-life figure of his old friend and thought back tot he many years they had spent together, both as enemies and as allies.
"Charles..." Magneto struggled to say "...is this... how the dream dies...?"
No. A familiar voice responded inside of Magneto's brain. Not like this. Not today.
Magneto didn't know if he was hallucinating, reliving a distant memory, or actually communicating with his long lost friend. But it didn't matter. Hearing Charles' voice in his head once more gave him the strength he needed to turn the tide of the battle within himself.
Magneto knew he couldn't take control of the nano-bots that he flood his bloodstream, but he could take control of the bloodstream itself, thanks to the iron in the hemoglobin of his red blood ells. If he could consciously slow his blood flow, he could half the techno-organic virus's advance. Magneto focused all his power inward and, within moments, he could feel the pain beginning to cease and the control over his body returning.
"Not like this, Ultron," Magneto said, echoing the words of his oldest ally as he returned to his feet and prepared to head back into the fray. "Not today."

The Forge
Percy didn't like the forge.
Not because it was hot but because he could handle the heat. Not because it smelled like singed metal and oil; that was kind of the forge's whole thing. It was because when Percy stood in the forge of a god, every part of him that was human shrank. The roar of the flames, the weight of each tool, the precision of every unfinished construct reminded him he wasn't built for this. Not really. Not like the gods were.
He stood just outside the main chamber, fidgeting with Riptide's pen form in his hand. Hephaestus hadn't noticed him yet. Or maybe he had and was just giving Percy time to stop pretending he was fine.
Percy had hoped the buzzing in his head would calm once he left camp, but it hadn't. If anything, it got louder. He hadn't been sleeping — that much was obvious. He'd skipped dinner three nights in a row and barely noticed. When he did eat, everything tasted like campfire ash. Everything reminded him of the pit, of how he had to literally fight to survive.
The forge pulsed with warmth as he stepped in. Steam hissed from a pipe overhead. Sparks scattered across the stone, some briefly brushing with a firey hot touch that was almost comforting.
Hephaestus didn't look up from the automaton he was working on — a hulking, birdlike machine with wings that folded like steel origami. Something that Percy was sure of was to replace the statues they used in the Battle of Manhattan.
"You're three hours early, kid," the god said, voice gravel-thick and rumbling. "Or three days late. I don't keep track."
Percy didn't answer right away. His fingers curled around Riptide like it was the only solid thing left in his universe. Before he forced himself to release it. It wasn't exactly the god's fault that he hadn't been sleeping. The schedule had gotten messed up, and he hadn't approached any of the regulars.
"I couldn't sleep," he answers honestly after a moment. He wondered how much the forge god knew of the arrangement he had going on.
A beat of silence. Hephaestus didn't respond, but his hammer paused mid-swing. The sound of metal stopped with it. Maybe more than Percy had assumed to begin with. Shit.
"Haven't been able to, actually," Percy continued, hoping that talking would keep the questions from happening. The god was normally quiet, after all. The forge was never a place for words. "Every time I close my eyes, it's like—there's too much space in my head. Like someone cracked it open and poured noise in. It's different than demigod dreams; they're always different from what everyone says they have."
Another silence.
Then the hammer came down, gently this time, a final tap sealing whatever part the god had been working on. He set it aside, turning. His face was half-shadowed by the forge light, but his eyes glowed faintly, sorta like twin coals, bright enough to see through the cracks Percy didn't know he was showing.
"You've got that look," Hephaestus said quietly, stepping forward. "Same one I had after the first time I tried to build a heart."
Percy blinked. "You tried to—?" He was hoping to have the god launch in his story, but it faded once the god continued.
"Not the point," Hephaestus grunted. The limp in his right leg was audible even when he wasn't walking hard. Each uneven step thudded in time with Percy's own heartbeat, rising like a drumbeat." The point is that I recognize burnout when I see it. Gods burn differently, but mortals? They flicker. They flare."
His gaze softened as he reached Percy's side. "And sometimes they burn out."
Percy swallowed. He felt smaller again. Not because Hephaestus towered over him, but because he didn't, really. But the weight of knowing Percy was falling apart made it worse than if he'd yelled at him. It was like when Aphrodite had stolen him away; every time, Hermes would look at him like he was a candle burning the last bit of wick away.
"I'm not weak." He defends never liking the association with him being tired of being weak.
"Didn't say you were."
"I just-"
"You're tired, Percy." The name dropped like a hammer. "There's a difference."
For a moment, the only sound was the soft crackle of the forge fire behind them. Percy hated the silence, his heart rate quickening. He knew logically he shouldn't be afraid, but he didn't know Hephaestus all that well.
Hephaestus reached into a side alcove Percy hadn't noticed before and pulled out a thick, quilted blanket that looked hilariously out of place next to anvils and blades.
"Even volcanoes need time to cool." the god begins. "And you, you're burning rather hot right now for a sea child." The heavy quilt settles around his shoulders, Percy not sure how to move. Normally, this would be the part where the god shrank or grew and settled inside like some mythic nesting doll. That wasn't happening this time.
"I can't just sleep. I feel like. I'm scared I'll wake up, and it will be real; all of this is a dream."
"You're missing the moment your body begged you to stop. You're missing the part where this doesn't have to be a war." Hephaestus said, voice gentler now. A warm hand settled on his shoulder, a comforting squeeze forcing his thoughts to come back to the present.
Percy looked down. His hands were trembling just a little. His knees ached in that way that told him they were about to give if he didn't sit.
Hephaestus didn't flinch. Understanding passed through his expression like a forge wind even though Percy hadn't said one word.
"Whether you want it or not, you still need rest. You can't fight off what's coming if your bones are sand." He hesitated, then added, "And I've seen what happens when good people try to carry on without sleep. They lose the pieces that matter." Despite being a god of few words, Percy found that anything that Hephaestus said hit like a crashing wave. It is almost..cooling in a sense.
Something in Percy cracked.
Maybe it was the way the god said it. Maybe it was how the forge, for all its heat and pressure, somehow felt safe. He took a step toward the room, then another. His legs didn't buckle yet, but they felt close.
"Will you-" he stopped, voice thick. "Will you... can I.." He trails off, feeling ridiculous. He had asked gods before why it was so hard now.
"I'll be at the anvil; you sit and wait until you're ready."
Percy nodded slowly and went to sit on a chair. He focused on the quilt, heavy. Comforting. Real.
He lay down, pulling the fabric over himself. The pillow behind him smelled like smoke and iron and something ancient.
But it wasn't enough.
His fingers curled in the edge of the blanket, anchoring himself to the fabric like it could weigh him down enough to stop floating out of his skin. The forge hummed quietly behind him, the sound of metal shifting, fire breathing, and gods working, but inside him, the memories of the pit still haunted him any time he even dared to blink. Still roared within his consciousness.A few minutes later He sat up slowly, the quilt falling from his shoulders.
"Hephaestus."
The god didn't look up right away. "Hmm?"
Percy hesitated, lips parted, but the words tangled. His pulse was too loud. His body was too tired. His voice is too small.
"I need—" He swallowed. "I need you to do something."
That got the god's attention. He turned, the light from the forge casting his face in molten gold and deep shadows.
"I need you to... swallow. Um..eat? I..just hold?" His voice cracked. The last word felt like begging.
Hephaestus blinked, slow, as if translating the request. Hephaestus didn't answer. He didn't scoff, didn't dismiss, didn't even frown. He just regarded him with a gaze older than anything Percy would have known.
"I haven't really slept since the pit," Percy whispered. "I can close my eyes sometimes, yeah, but I don't fall asleep. I don't dream. I just... wait. And the noise gets louder. And I feel like I'm falling again, except nothing catches me this time. There's no river, there's no Annabeth, there's no relief."
The forge hissed behind them, metal shifting in sympathy.
Hephaestus exhaled slowly. His hands, blackened with soot and steel, flexed at his sides. "You're asking me to swallow you."
Percy flinched. "I know how it sounds."
"I know how it feels," Hephaestus said, his voice lower now, almost gentle. "You want stillness. Safety. Something that can't break. And gods, we provide that."
"Can you?" Percy hated how pleading he sounded. First off, asking to be eaten was embarrassing, but the fact he needed it to sleep was weird.
Hephaestus studied him, not like a mortal, not like a thing to be fixed, but like a relic that had cracked wrong under the pressure of something it wasn't meant to survive.
"I can." those few words sense echoes of comfort through Percy's body. He slumps, feeling like a large weight has been lifted. At this point, he was collecting Gods to eat him like the mythological cards Nico had been obsessed with.
"My young ones need it sometimes. You've helped them out a bit, 'especially Leo. I can return the favor." Hephaestus continues. The god stepped forward, his limp echoing through the room like a heartbeat. He knelt, surprisingly gentle for someone who built mountains. And then, slowly, wordlessly, he placed his hand on Percy's shoulder. Warmth spread from the god's touch, not searing but molten, like lava flowing around the edges of something jagged.
Like always, the dizzy feeling of getting small struck the boy. It was normal at this point, like getting a concussion or cut up at training. The hold moved from his shoulder to his entire body, scooping him up. Despite being calloused and massive, the god moved like he was delicate, like a glass statue he was working on.
The god brought Percy closer to his face. His eyes glowed like molten metal. He opened his mouth, and it was glowing like the inside of a volcano. It was less like the normal innards he was used to seeing. Aphrodite and every other god seemed to follow the same format; when it came to innards, Hephaestus was more like a machine in a way. There was no throat the way mortals had one. No slick flesh. Just that same constant, forging energy, folding inward like the mouth of a furnace made to unmake and remake things. They were more like coals than anything else. Percy half wondered if the god used his own body for forging at times. He didn't have much time to wonder as he was slipped inside carefully. The coal-like texture was odd, hot, and rough, dry almost. Nothing like he was used to.
When the god closed his mouth around him with the kind of slowness reserved for something delicate. The light did not fade once as the god's teeth shut around him with a soft clack. The coals beneath him shifted and burned brighter for a moment. It was oddly comforting.
Percy felt like his body was melting, but it wasn't. The feeling made him think of a puddle on the shore, just lost and close to home.
When Hephaestus swallowed, it wasn't exactly like being swallowed. It was more like rolling backward. He slid more into a metal-like tube, sliding down rather than anything else. Some of the coal followed him as he slid more into a room-like space, deep inside the god, until the world outside disappeared. Every inch of him was pressed by power — not pain, but reassurance. Like the feeling of deep water above him or blankets so heavy that they still shake his bones.
And then: silence.
Not absence.
Stillness.
Inside Hephaestus, the noise stopped. The pit quieted. The divine presence around him was heavy but familiar, ancient but kind. It didn't demand. It didn't command. It just held.
"I'm gonna have to keep..a journal on how you all are different." He mumbles, struggling to keep his eyes open. The one weakness he had when he was tired was a god's stomach. It was nearly impossible to stay awake, surrounded by a safe feeling.
Hephaestus laughed, the sound warm and rolling, the space creaking with the movement. It shifted from something hard to more soft and firm, like the couch Leo always went on and on about within his dad's forge.
"I look forward to seeing it, little whirlpool." The god soothes Percy, who is struggling to stay awake. He had a quip that died on his tongue as he finally drifted off to sleep. The last fleeting thought was that he never did help the god with whatever he had requested.
Held by a god, swallowed by ancient warmth, Percy finally slept.
And the forge burned on.

hades!wriothesley's constellation is cerberus, yes, but he also has a gardemek that takes the form of a massive three-headed dog. the thing sits motionless in front of his office seemingly powered off, but rumor has it that it roams the corridors of the fortress of meropide after midnight. the mechanical beast grows aggressive during the witching hour, although hades himself will often dismiss the rumors, saying that it is merely attending to unwanted guests.
as a matter of fact, what if he has several cerberus gardemeks? amongst the ranks of the gardemeks that lie in wait in their designated stations, there is also a cerberus mech on each level -- maybe two or three per level, each spaced out so as to maintain order and have all bases covered. when they walk, one can hear each and every one of their mechanisms clicking and turning. each step rocks the very ground they walk upon; a few prisoners (residents as wriothesley would probably correct you) have expressed their concern that a cerberus mech could end up drowning them all some day. of course those are just the ramblings of a paranoid prisoner (resident), but their worries aren't unfounded.
the very first time you tried to enter wriothesley's office, the cerberus gardemek stationed there nearly ripped you apart.
you're too terrified to even think to say the words that wriothesley told you to say when prompted. the gardemek spoke to you just moments earlier, the automated voice commanding you to state your name and business. you weren't aware that you were being timed either, so when you stutter one too many times and take too long to answer, the hulking automaton shifted its stance into that of a predator hunting its prey. it planted its front paws on the ground and lowered itself with its hind legs in the air. if this were a smaller, more... organic dog, it would've been mildly threatening at best. but this? this was menacing. you were not staring down at a dog that you could hide from -- you were being watched by death itself.
state your name and business, the beast warned you. you could hear the hiss of the joints in the jaw moving as it opened its mouth to reveal its silver serrated teeth. unlike the polished, humanoid gardemeks elsewhere in the fortress, the teeth seemed... dirty. rusted, even. your body went cold with the realization that it was likely dried blood.
your mouth opened to answer the question, but no sound came out. your head was a mess. if you don't answer the question, will your blood stain the once-silvery mass of teeth in this monster's mouth? you glanced at the floor briefly and saw that sure enough, the floor was a different color beneath your feet than it was anywhere else -- as if someone had done some intense scrubbing. you held your breath.
by this point, you were too terrified to provide the answer that the mech was asking you for. you briefly considered fighting your way out of this, but you can't take this thing on alone. a few armed gardemeks, maybe, but not something this massive. so, you squeezed your eyes shut when you heard the mech utter the words, "time has run out. eliminating intruder."
aaaand then i stopped writing because i'm falling asleep. obviously you don't die, but you get what i'm trying to say, right? right.

wrote some more robot!ghost for @glitterypirateduck's ghost challenge!! i used prompt #81 and pushed robot!ghost in a river >:)
[tiny suggestive warning!]
The sixth month of your service as Ghost's technician was coming to a close, and along with that, autumn was just starting to peter off into winter. The air was colder and the wind bites just a little harder than it did before.
Your breath is visible in the air when you stop to catch it, having exerted yourself on your morning run. Your feet have taken you off base today after deciding to work yourself a little harder. If things went as planned, you would be following the task force off base within the next couple weeks for a longer mission, one where Ghost wouldn't be able to visit as promptly. So, to make sure nothing catastrophic happened with you too far away to address it, you would be going with them.
You wipe the sweat off your forehead as you make a detour into a small cafe on your way back to base, the bell above the door jingling when you push it open. Despite the fact that the little shop was packed for the afternoon rush, things were rather quiet. It was a tad confusing, to be frank.
The cause of this awkward and uncomfortable silence is made clear once you spot a certain hulking man standing next to the front counter, arms crossed over his chest.
You walk over to him with curiosity in your eyes. "Ghost? What are you doing here?" Why would an automaton be in a cafe of all places? Or anywhere that serves food for that matter?
His glowing red LED optics focus on you when he hears your voice and he shrugs in response to your question. "Getting drinks for the others." His voice is plain and deadpanned as usual, explaining himself as though it were obvious and well-known that he served as the task force's personal coffee delivery boy.
You make a little 'oh' noise and glance away from him. Those damn eyes of his continue to send a shiver down your spine every time he stares at you so intently. Expectantly, almost.
The silence is palpable for a few moments before you try to start a more substantial conversation. "So, um... do you do stuff like this often? Getting food for the other guys, I mean."
His voice box makes a low, metallic rumble in response and looks at the queue on the tiny monitor showing what orders were coming out next. "Pretty often. Don't get tired and don't have to work out daily. Got plenty of extra time," he says before glancing over at you and nodding toward the counter. "Might want to get your order in, mate."
Oh. That is what you were here to do, isn't it? You mosey over to the waiter and give them your order, feeling Ghost's eyes on the side of your face while you speak.
When the both of you get your orders--one cup of coffee for yourself and a variety of teas and coffees for the boys--you and Ghost head out together and start on back to base. Conversation flows somewhat easily as you walk as you exchange small stories with each other; most of his consist of various past operations, yours are generally about your clients over the years.
About halfway back, catastrophe strikes.
The two of you are on your merry way when you hear the sound of car horns blaring only a little ways away. All of a sudden, a car is swerving and coming directly toward you. You freeze at the sight and aren't able to react until it's almost too late. Lucky for you, you have a 6'4" automaton bodyguard, one that's able to quickly shove you out of the trajectory the speeding car is taking.
The result is him flying over the guardrail along the side of the river you're walking next to, right into the water.
"Ghost!" You look over the edge, eyes wide in shock. You turn your gaze to the driver of the car that nearly crashed into you. "What is wrong with you?!" You bark at them before trying to find some way down to help Ghost out of the river. You curse under your breath when your search comes up short and resort to climbing over the railing and sliding down the steep drop to the lower walkway.
Luckily, he's already swimming to the side, albeit a bit slow. You take hold of his hand and drag him closer the best you can, helping him onto the concrete footpath.
Now, usually, water wouldn't be an issue for an automaton as advanced as he is, but the fact his chassis was crumpled up by the car hitting him, water was able to get underneath his waterproof outer casing and into his circuits. You call up Price on your phone and he's there to take the both of you back to base within minutes (not before getting the culprits plate numbers and information, though--that person was really going to get it, you already know).
Ghost is stumbling by the time you make it back to your office and get him laying on the workbench to be treated. You have to tell Soap to shut up when he makes a stupid comment about just putting him in a tub full of rice, and he promptly fucks off when he hears the venom in your voice.
You're quick to remove his damaged chest casing and set it to the side. He's instinctively resistant to the action after recently experiencing high levels of trauma, and his hands shoot up to stop you multiple times as you open him up, but eventually he gets too weak to hold you back anymore.
A grimace sets upon your face when you see the water sloshing around in his most fragile parts. Towels first, then you can really take care of him. "I'm gonna wipe you down first, okay? The fabric will probably feel strange or hurt a bit at first, but it's all necessary, okay?" You reassure him while you get the towels out of your tool cabinets. He gives you a strained, glitchy grumble in response.
When you start patting him down, his limbs twitch and he groans softly, his eyes flickering. "Fuckin' hell--" he hisses, his voicebox chopping his words up and his back arching off the table involuntarily. It makes you falter for a bit; it almost sounded like a groan of pleasure instead of pain...
But there's no time to speculate about whether or not your patient was a masochist. Even if your face started to heat up a bit, both from the shame of thinking about him like that and from the inappropriate thoughts passing through your mind. So unprofessional, you scold yourself.
But after that day, you can't get the thoughts out of your head. Yet another thing about that man that captivates you. This was starting to become a problem.

Evalien: *exploring the remnants of blackreach, Bass reluctantly leaving the snow elves in his care with half of the group as the rest follow with them* you said you sensed another down here?
Bass: yes, but the signal seems interrupted. It’s familiar though, one of our ranks.
Evalien: you said you left tambriel through an oblivion gate in what’s now Markarth but reappeared here right?
Bass: *nods* yes, whoever this renegade is they could have vanished anywhere.
Evalien: or not at all… *halts and points to a hulking figure, frozen in place, surrounded by shattered dwemer centurions and a destroyed oblivion gate* I don’t think… he ever left…
Bass: *gasps softly and steps forward looking at the figure* Gildorun…
Evalien: *walks to them, the figure frozen in place, clutching their blade in both hands, as if accepting their fate as an eternal guardian to their own tomb, face youthful, clean shaven, eyes closed and shadowed by a head of long, dark silken hair, and a well built body protected beneath power armour reminiscent of the same adorning Bass* … there has to be a way to wake him up surely?…
Bass: I don’t know, it’s as though his soul isn’t present in his body…
Evalien: *looks around quietly, before spotting a black soul gem resting but a few feet from where he stands* hm?… *walks over and touches it, her mind immediately flashing with a blinding pain as visions of the hour of reckoning stab at her. The renegade cutting down automaton after automaton, then his own kin as hundreds of Falmer and other renegades alike clamber into the open oblivion gate. The warriors blade never faltering as he waits for them to flee, and only then, shattering the gate in one blow, saving them by sacrificing himself. And then another dwarf, a noble by the look of their robes. Grinning as they clutch the soul gem in their grasp. A blade of a familiar make in their other hand, as they cut his very soul from his body and tether it to the stone. The words both too loud and too quiet for her to hear as he speaks with a maniacal grin. The warrior staring at them with horror, then acceptance, as they relax into the pose of a silent centurion. Bound to forever stand guard* A-aghhh- *drops it as she staggers back into the older dwarf*
Bass: Eva! *catches her in the palm of his power armour, watching the stone shatter on the cobblestone floor, the soul within flying out and embracing their body once more with a loud gasp* I- *swiftly hands Eva to Taliesin before anyone can process what’s going on* Gildorun- *drops to his knees and catches his fellow renegade as he collapses, his power armour long out of juice, and his body exhausted from a battle fought long ago* Gildorun, speak to me boy, my old friend-
???: Centurion…
Bass: what?…
Centurion: Gildorun is no more… *slowly rises to his feet, a task most deep elves, even those with his structure would find difficult with the heavy armour* He died, with those who fled… I… am Centurion…
Evalien: *finally getting a good look at his face and having two thoughts, ‘oh he’s hot’ being the first, and secondly* Oh no he’s Traumatised.
Taliesin: *still holding her* never mind that, is he single~?

@lawnchair86 ORDER UP! More Peter Rabo for you!
---
this is a sequel to the original which can be found here
summary: you struggle to get comfortable with your captor on your first day with him.
word count: 1259
content warnings: captive romance, colonization, reader is scared but something else, i guess it could be considered dubcon so beware
---
Warm didn't even begin to describe how your face felt. You ran a hand along your collar, which had warmed up since it had first clasped your neck. Some of them had turned away, some of them had carried on with their business. Some of them stared. Even now you felt their stares on your back, their whispers from behind you. You would have at least liked the comfort of knowing what they were saying, whispering, hissing.
In the present, you felt chills crawl down your spine as you sat next to your captor. You looked up at him, hard at work on his next contraption. His gaze was intense, as if he were about to throttle the metal in front of him. Your chain was now tied to one of the legs of the table, a thick ring adjoining link to link.
"Is this how you intend on making me comfortable?" you almost muttered. You played with the chain in your fingers, it slid between them like silk.
"You're going to have to wait a little bit," he said gruffly. He turned the screw on the thing he was making, and you examined it a little more closely. You tried to make meaning of it, but the mess of wires and scraps of metal barely gave away what he was making.
"Can you at least tell me what you're making?" you asked.
Perturabo sighed, and put his hands on the table. "Robot? Automaton?" he sputtered. "Whatever it is in your language. You will be learning High Gothic soon enough."
You sighed, crossing your arms. "Maybe I don't want to learn your crusty old language," you scoffed, looking away from him.
The beginnings of a smile graced Perturabo's face. "Then how are you going to communicate with anyone here?" he asked. He reached for your jaw and took it in his hand, forcing you to come face to face with him. His fingers pressed into your skin, almost swallowing it.
You felt the heart in your chest racing, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. He wasn't gentle, but it was a touch nonetheless. This was a man whose army left no survivors of your forces, save for yourself. But you weren't sure that fear was the only thing you felt. Your eyes met his quickly before they darted away.
"Go on. I'm waiting."
Despite your best efforts to maintain what little control you had, your lips quivered. "Fine," you spat. "You win. You have my homeworld, your... things killed my army. What more do you want?" You felt yourself shivering.
A laugh came out of the hulking demigod before you. "Is it not obvious, darling?" he bellowed before leaning down so that his face almost met yours.
That word again. It felt so unnatural on his lips, as if a man like him was not created to utter something so intimate. But it came out of him all the same. He was so close now that you couldn't avert your eyes, you had to look at him. Behold him. You opened your mouth to say something, anything to occupy the silence between you two, but failed miserably.
The hand around your jaw slid down towards your back, pulling you in closer to him. He used the finger on his remaining hand to part your lips. You froze.
"Just relax," he said, though it was more of a command than a suggestion. "Relax and remember who bandaged you."
He put his mouth on yours. You felt something primal in you, a deep desire to give in. You knew you shouldn't, you knew that you should be fighting for your planet until your last breath if need be. But did you really think you had any choice in the matter?
Just as you relaxed into the kiss, he pulled away. "You're not going to escape," he chuckled before unclasping the collar. You rubbed the raw skin where it used to be, having grown to appreciate feeling air around your neck.
He picked you up and put you on the ground next to him as if you were nothing more than a napkin being thrown in the bin. "I'm going to need to do this properly if I am to do it at all," he said, grabbing your arm and leading you to an empty wall. Your head was feeling light as he guided you to the wall, once again pinning you up against it as he knelt down. He was so close to you now.
And once again his mouth was on yours. That desire to give in was back, stronger than ever. It took a few seconds for you to reciprocate the kiss, give him what he wanted. As his tongue parted your lips, you felt your hands slip onto his chest. You could feel your jaw start to bruise from where he held it too tightly, but you pressed on.
Soon enough, he pulled away. "Perturabo..." you began, eyes wide. You were not entirely sure where to go from that first statement. Your hands fell from his chest, and one of his hands grabbed your wrist. It was tight enough to almost draw blood. You winced.
"You're easier to crack than you let on," he remarked, his remaining hand tracing the bruise on your face.
You opened your mouth to speak, but caught yourself. You were going to tell him not to tell anyone in your army, but who was left to tell? Your planet was in the process of being assimilated into that empire. Any remaining dissidents would likely be killed with the same brutality that your army had been wiped out with. Your brows furrowed and the corners of your mouth turned down.
"Let's get to bed," he smirked. "Unless you have any objections?"
You shook your head before opening your mouth to speak. "Am I just going to go to bed in this?" you asked, gesturing to your robes that you'd come to know as common in the culture you had been dragged kicking and screaming into. Perturabo chuckled.
Before long, you were nestled next to him on that outlandishly large bed in a new set of robes. His arms were wrapped around you as if he were holding a small pillow. He trailed his hand along your small body, stopping ever so slightly at the bandage. You were limp in his arms, facing away from him.
"Those people out in the ship," you said. "What were they saying about me?"
"Nothing important," he replied.
"I still want to know what they said," you said, "even if it's not important."
"We can start your lessons in High Gothic tomorrow," he replied groggily. "Just lay here with me for now."
You turned over to face him. He was roughly twice your size, with eyes barely open. The wires sticking out of his head were dark against his pale skin, skin that you could barely see in the dark. His face was worn and weathered with years of war visible in scars and lines. You didn't know if it was because he was the first one to come into physical contact with you in a long while, but he looked almost peaceful.
You pulled him into your chest. "Alright," you said. You reached through the wires to the back of his neck, your chin resting on the top of his head. His large arms kept you close to him as you began to drift into the best sleep you'd had in a long while.

loving the art :D story too, recently got into helldivers and HOOH, it has immediately stolen 75 hours of my life also wanted to say i love the drawing you did of the hulk, automatons (bugs too) actually don't get too much love in the way of art, i just wanna go and hug one of em tbh although tht doesn't seem likely due to the "dead people cages" the bots have, and the sacrifical alters, or the skull decorations, what does delany have to say if the bots defence? i'd like if bots could be nice but they don't seem like the friendliest bunch, to helldivers or seaf troopers
Eyy good to hear more folks are playing!!
In terms of the nasty things the Automatons do, Delany's pretty chill with the idea, given how nonchalant she is about the terrible thing Super Earth does (e.g. re-educations caps, etc).
Sure, she's working for evil assholes, but she also used to work with a bunch of evil assholes, to begin with, and at this point, she doesn't have a choice. So she doesn't have a defense, war sucks, nasty things happen, she just wants to make it through to her next beer

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
(More) Goon of Gotham

The Plant Monster
A hulking behemoth made up of floral matter, the plant monsters were creatures created by Poison Ivy to both do her bidding as an eco-terrorist as well as facilitate her ruse as reformed and little more than an innocent housewife. Ivy created the monsters genetic material from her former psychiatrist, Dr. Steven Carlyle, mixing it with her botanical science to create an animated plant golem obedient to her will.
Possessing a shortened lifespan, the plant monster appears as a young child in its nascent phase, quickly growing into it more mature form where it appears an exact replica of Dr. Carlyle. In its final phase, the creature expands into an enormous brute possessing incredible strength and durability. It can last in this final stage for only a short while before the creature wilts and dies off.
Ivy grew a number of these creatures. The saplings pretending to be Carlyle’s two young sons from a previous marriage whom Ivy cared for. The mature version of the creature posed as Carlyle himself (the real Dr. Carlyle was kept in suspended stasis in a pod-like plant in home’s back yard). While the lumbering final version of the creature did Ivy’s bidding, destroying polluting industrial facilities and attacking individuals Ivy deemed as responsible for ecological offenses.
Batman and Robin were initially fooled by these creatures. The crimes bore all the hallmarks of Poison Ivy. And yet the Dynamic Duo believed the Carlyle duplicate to be the real thing, thus offering Ivy a rock solid alibi. It was only after Robin recalled that Dr. Carlyle had two daughters from his past marriage rather than two sons that Batman was able to deduce Ivy must have somehow created her family.
Utilizing a specialized pesticide spray, Batman and Robin were able to destroy the various Plant Creatures and rescued Dr. Carlyle. Poison Ivy fled, leaving behind a plant golem in her own form whom the Dynamic Due attempted to apprehend before it too deteriorated into a floral soup.
Although she had gotten away, Poison Ivy was hugely saddened by the loss of her created family and the peace and tranquility it had offered her. Having perfected her ability to create floral golems, however, it would not be long before she would return with new sinister schemes to forward her agenda.
Actors Peter Strauss and Jim Cummings voiced Dr. Carlyle and the Plant Monster respectively. The creature appeared in the first episode of the second season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘House and Garden.'

Cynthia
The android known as Cynthia was a ‘synthoid,’ a sophisticated automaton specifically designed to pass as human. She was customer-designed and ordered by high school student Howard Groote who wanted to use her as a means of earning the attention of the popular girls in his class. Cynthia was crafted to be a stunningly beautiful young woman, entirely devoted to Howard.
The plan initially worked and when Howard’s classmates saw that he had such a desirable and dedicated girlfriend it caused many of them to reconsider their attitudes toward him. Unfortunately, Cynthia’s programming proved quite rigid and she became fiercely jealous toward the girls who paid Howard attention.
Synthoid’s possessed greatly enhanced strength and durability and Cynthia’s jealous rampage caused a great deal of destruction and put many people at risk. Batman (Terry McGinnis) interceded and was able to protect those who were in harm. In the end, Cynthia’s rage toward Howard became so extreme that it caused her central processors to overload and she exploded.
Actress Shiri Appleby provided the voice for Cythia, with the tragic and possessive sainthood featuring in the thirteenth episode of the second season of Batman Beyond, ‘Terry's Friend Dates a Robot.’

Farmer Brown & Emmylou
Doctor Enoch Brown was a microbiologist and agriculturalist who had developed a way to cause mutagenic growth in animals, which he tried to market as a means to end world hunger. He presented a ginormous sheep at an agricultural expo which became irritated and ran amuck, resulting in a great deal of property damage. Brown was arrested and fined a huge fee; furthermore he was court ordered to desist all mutagenic experimentations on livestock.
An enraged Brown disappeared for several years and eventually reemerged with a plan to gain vengeance and make himself rich. Aided by his daughter, Emmylou, Farmer Brown created numerous monstrous beasts, including giant cows, pterodactyl-like mutant chickens and enormous mantis-like insects. He set these animals loose on the streets of Gotham, causing a great deal of chaos. He then threatened to send even more such monstrosities if the city did not agree to pay him an exorbitant ransom.
When the Gotham Police Department failed to send the ransom, Brown and his daughter planned on sending a rocket that would deposit hundreds of mutated locusts into the heart of downtown. Gotham Fortunately the plot was thwarted by the efforts of Batman, Batgirl and Robin. Farmer Brown and Emmylou were arrested and the animals they had created were sent to a specialized nature reserve.
Actor Peter Breck provided Brown’s drawl with actress Dina Sherman voicing his daughter, Emmylou. The villainous pair appeared in the second episode of the second season of The New Batman Adventures, ‘Critters.’

Terminal
By all outward appearances, Carter Wilson seemed a model student at Hamilton High School. He had excellent grades, was a star athlete, class president and was quite popular among his peers. All of his scholastic success, however, was fueled by a cold and overbearing mother that demanded that he be nothing but the best.
Young Carter cracked under the pressure. At night he would don a frightening costume and began running with the Jokerz Street Gang. As a part of the gang, Carter took on the alias of ‘Terminal.’ With his intellect, it was not long before Terminal was leading a gang of his own, a group of Joker goons willing to obey his every whim.
Carter learned that his classmate, Maxine Gibson, had outperformed him on a standardized test and was likely to beat him out for class valedictorian. Desperate to ensure this would not happen, he used his role as Terminal to put a stop to it. After failed attempts to alter school records, Terminal planned for his gang to attack Maxine and make it so she could not continue on at school by any means necessary.
The plot was thwarted by Batman (Terry McGinnis) and Terminal was ultimately unmasked as Carter. The once promising young man was arrested and sent away for psychiatric care. Although Batman had succeeded in foiling Terminal’s plan and saving Maxine, the whole ordeal resulted in Maxine being able to successfully surmise Terry’s alter ego as the new Batman. Fortunately, Max would come to use this information to help the Tomorrow Night and Max would go on to become one of Batman’s most valuable allies.
Actor Michael Rosenbaum provided the voice for Terminal, with the villain appearing in the eighteenth episode of the first season of Batman Beyond, ‘Hidden Agenda.’

Deputy Commissioner Gil Mason
Dashing Gil Mason was a rising star within the Gotham City Police Department, promoted to deputy commissioner serving under Jim Gordon. And yet Mason’s success was due to his secretly being an agent of the villainous mob boss known as Harvey ‘Two-Face’ Dent. Two Face fed Mason information about rival gangs, taking out his competition while augmenting Mason’s reputation in the police department.
Mason then planted evidence implicating Commissioner Gordon as corrupt and in the pocket of the mobster Rupert Thorne. Gordon ended up arrested while Mason was named the new commissioner.
Aided by Barbara Gordon, Batman was able to exonerate Jim Gordon and out Mason as Two-Face’s mole. Jim Gordon was freed and returned to his post as commissioner whereas Gil Mason perished in a boat explosion while trying to escape.
Actor Tim Matheson provided the voice for Gil Mason with the corrupt cop first appearing in the first episode of the second season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘Shadow of The Bat Part One.’

Payback
A brutal vigilante whop sought out to avenge neglected, mistreated children, Payback terrorized Gotham with little regard to the collateral damage and harm to innocent bystanders his campaign incurred. Batman set out to take the vigilante and his investigation uncovered that all of the targets had a connection to the Gotham Youth Counseling Center.
Using Bruce Wayne as bait, Batman was able to draw Payback out and eventually defeated the villain. Payback’s identity was revealed to be young Kenny Stanton, the son of the counseling center’s chief resident. Kenny had used a bionic suit to appear to be an adult, lashing out toward negligent parents in that he also felt neglected by his own father.
Actor Adam Wylie provided the voice for Kenny (with Bill Fagerbakke provided the voice of Payback). The troubled villain appeared in the twenty-fourth episode of the second season of Batman Beyond, ‘Payback.’

Baron Waclaw Josek
A smooth talking confidence man, Waclaw Josek presented himself as ‘The Baron,’ posing as a nobleman from somewhere in Eastern Europe. Fool by his erroneous credentials, relief aid organizations such as the Gotham Foreign-Aid Society would invite him to hold talks over high-priced dinner engagements.
Batman was aware Josek possessed multiple felony convictions in Europe and that he was a known associate of Josiah Wormwood. Wormwood had recently stolen a cache of bearer bonds and was planning on selling them to a foreign agent. Batman intimidated Josek into leaving town and then used his mastery of disguise to pose as Josek as part of plan to coerce Wormwood into giving up the bearer bonds as well as the name of the agent he was contracted to sell them to.
Actor John Rhys-Davies provided the voice for both Waclaw Josek as well as Bataman whilst impersonating Josek. The cad appeared in the thirty-first episode of the first season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy.’

Ratboy
Patrick was born with an unusual appearance. He looked like a rat, which prompted unfriendly kids to call him Ratboy. Tired of being teased, Patrick moved to the sewers, looking for seclusion. There he encountered a horde of giant man-eating rats. Strangely, Patrick was taken in by these rats and they would do his bidding.
Patrick abducted Dana Tan desiring a girlfriend to keep him company. Batman descended into the sewers to rescue Dana and ended up having to battle Patrick and his killer rats. The fight resulted in an explosion that claimed Patrick’s life although fortunately Batman and Dana were able to escape unharmed.
Actor Taran Noah Smith provided the voice for Ratboy with the tragic villain featuring in the ninths episode of the second season of Batman Beyond, ‘Rats.’

The Jazzman
James ‘Jimmy’ Peake was a violent mobster who came to Gotham to try to make a name for himself. With his proclivity to pepper his speech with all manner of musical terms, Peake came to be known as ‘The Jazzman.’
Following a series of brazen and violent capers, Commissioner James Gordon made a point of taking down and arresting Peake. A sting was sat up but things went awry and a gunfight broke out. The Batman arrived in time to capture Peake, but in the ensuing chaos an errant bullet had struck Commissioner Gordon.
Gordon was rushed to emergency surgery whilst Peake was transported to a holding cell as Stonegate Penitentiary. Peake was certain that Gordon's death would cement him as a major player in the Gotham criminal underworld. He somehow managed to escape Stonegate and made his way top the hospital to finish Gordon off.
Fortunately, Batman was able to intercept Peake and the cad was returned to jail. Gordon pulled through and was back on duty after a short recovery. Peake meanwhile was given a life sentence and spent the remainder of his days incarcerated at Stonegate.
Actor Brian George provided the voice for Jimmy The Jazzman Peake, with the crook appearing in the thirty-fourth episode of the first season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘I Am The Night.'

Pierce Chapman
A Gotham socialite and gadfly, Pierce Chapman was close friends with Veronica Vreeland and tended to ride her coattails into the upper crust of high society. When Veronica fretted over ways of being the talk of the town, Pierce recalled the time a party he had attended had been robbed by The Joker. The whole affair was ever so exciting and he and Veronica cooked up a scheme to get the recently paroled Penguin to come to their next shindig.
The Penguin had always wanted to be embraced by high society and he was gleefully excited by Veronica’s interest in him. Veronica’s friend, Bruce Wayne, warned her that she was playing a dangerous game and that treating The Penguin in this fashion was cruel and reckless. Yet Pierce disregarded Bruce’s boring advice, noting that the Penguin was ‘not of our kind’ and thus undeserving of such concern.
Naturally this whole scheme backfired and when The Penguin found out that he was merely being used. He kidnapped Veronica and demanded that Piece deliver the ransom. The Penguin had planned to kill both Veronica and Pierce, but the two were saved by the timely arrival of Batman.
Whether or not Pierce came to learn his lesson remains unknown. He and Veronica appeared to drift apart and he was not seen at any of her subsequent events and parties.
Actor Sam McMurray provided the voice for Pierce Chapman, with the snobbish goon appearing in the forty-seventh episode of the first season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘Birds of A Feather.’

Well armor finally, finally means something in Helldivers 2.
Not only has the armor stat been fixed to actually give damage resistance, Medium and Heavy now give an additional 5% and 10% defense boost respectively. This may not seem like a lot, but it helps. Tonight I survived taking a melee attack from a Hulk during a defense mission because I wore Heavy armor, and lived long enough to stim. Stray automaton shots aren't 50% of my health.

A COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF DIFFERENCES IN AUTOMATON DIFFICULTY FOR HELLDIVERS 2
(UPDATED ON APRIL 2024)
So, I've decided to create this list mainly because anytime i've tried searching it up anywhere else, i found absolutely nothing (only "guides" or a bunch of trash articles that are most likely useless garbage information), and it annoyed the hell out of me. So i'm making this for those who need to know.
Additionally, this may not be 100% accurate considering the only way to see all missions across a planet is to complete it or fail it... plus NO ONE has made a list of missions that exist in this game, so i can NOT double check to see if i am correct UNLESS i go in game and just examine each and every mission, so yeah.
TRIVIAL-1 & EASY-2
Mission Area Information
On Trivial, the Map Size is small, so not too much to explore but just has about enough in it to satiate a player who's getting the hang of the game. On Easy (and onwards), the Map Size recieves a slight size boost along with increased number of Points of Interests (ALTHOUGH THIS MAY VARY DEPENDING UPON THE MISSION AREA SIZE IN SAID DIFFICULTY/PLANET) Additionally, on Easy Mode, number of objectives increase for certain missions (namely Raise the Flag), sorta easing the player into what Medium offers.
Main Missions - Eliminate Devastators (Heavy Devastators), Pump Fuel into ICBM, Sabotage Fuels & Supplies, Raise the Flag, Destroy Transmission Network and Terminate Illegal Broadcast
Allied Tactical Objectives will begin appearing after Trivial and the map increases in size.
Enemy Spawning Pool
Trivial - Standard Units Only (Commissars [wield a Gun & Blade, are typically the first the fire off an Alert Flare the moment you make your presence known, they also tend to rush at the player sometimes], Troopers [wield only a gun, stay their distance], & Brawlers [wield dual blades, typically rush you]). Patrols consist of Standard Units.
Easy - Standard Units Receives New Unit (Raiders Introduced, which are Rocket Raiders & MG [Machine Gun] Raiders) & Special Units Introduced ([Standard Devastators [Medium Armored Machine with a Tri/Double Barrelled Cannon] & Beserkers [Built like Devastators but wield two chainsaw blades and are agile on flat surfaces] are now introduced into Spawn pool). Patrols consist of Standard Units and Devastators/Berserkers.
MEDIUM-3
Mission Area Information
After Easy Mode, Enemy Outposts recieve a slight upgrade and boost in numbers. Certain Mission Objectives will now have an additional objective you need to do before you can do the other objective. Certain Mission Types are rotated out in favor for new ones. Additionally, now you must do two missions in order to put in the squad impact of a planet.
New Main Missions - Eliminate Hulk (REPLACEMENT), Conduct Geological Survey, Sabotage Air Bases, Upload Escape Pod Data, Eradicate Automaton Forces, Blitz: Search & Destroy and Launch ICBM.
Removed Missions - Raise the Flag and Destroy Illegal Broadcast
There is a chance to be more than 1 Allied Objective + some new/already seen objectives will appear (1 to 2 Allied Objectives in Medium Mission Area)
Enemy Spawning Pool
Standard Units - Raiders begin taking spots of Troopers (i... do not know why this is the case but there will be a "Raider" sometimes, i dont know if theres a difference between a "Raider" and "Trooper" but... its a thing?) and Striders [a Trooper manning a two legged walker with guns] are now introduced.
Special Units - Devastators receive two new units into their ranks, the Heavy Devastator (although a rare one, sometimes they spawn) & Rocket Devastator (<- these guys should honestly have been Priority Targets for Medium and then introduced in Challenging as an enemy that spawns in) can appear now.
Heavy/Defensive Units - Cannon Towers & Annihilator Tanks are now introduced as a threat but only within Outposts (typically Medium Outposts).
Patrols consist of Standard Units (with a strider or two), Berserkers, and Devastators.
CHALLENGING-4
Mission Area Information
After Medium, this is effectively where the game truly begins in terms of what it has to offer, Points of Interests will now be occupied by standard & special units and Heavy Outposts are now thrown into the pool of Outposts. However, rare samples are now obtainable, allowing for access to additional ship upgrades.
New Main Missions - Retrieve Valuable Data, Emergency Evacuation
Removed Main Missions - Upload Escape Pod Data (Im actually unsure why this doesnt get removed in Medium considering it exists as a Optional Objective in other missions), Eliminate Priority Targets (in general, "unknown as to why"), Destroy Transmission Network
There are now 3 Optional Objectives with a new variant of objective added into the mix, Enemy Objectives, which contains Detector Towers (which can see you from afar and call in Dropships), Mortar Emplacements (you will know when it happens), AA Emplacements (disable the usage of Eagle-1 Stratagems), and Stratagem Jammer (which completely disable the usage of Stratagems as a whole if nearby, these should be considered priority if nearby a main objective)
Enemy Spawning Pool
Standard Units - Raiders receive a new enemy unit known as "Assault Raider", almost akin to Commissars but instead, they will always try to rush you [best method to counter is to kill them before they reach you, otherwise if they die near you and should you have shot their jetpack, you will be blown up].
Special Units - Recieve Little to No Change (other than appearing somewhat more often)
Heavy/Defensive Units - Hulks are introduced, they will be situated within a Main Objective Area or a Heavy Outpost.
Patrols will consist of what they tend to consist in Medium but now there is a rare chance to encounter a patrol containing a singular Hulk.
Extraction Sequences will have the chance to include a Hulk.
HARD-5
Mission Area Information
If anything, this is where the "real game begins", as you are now given a taste of venom by the devs and Operation Modifiers are introduced. Its relatively similar to Challenging except "massive enemies" are now a thing (whatever that means), and there are 3 Missions in one area.
Operation Modifiers will alter the way you perform or act in a given mission zone, these range from Complex Stratagem Plotting (which increases the call-in time for Stratagems by 50%, INCLUDING the Pelican-1 Extraction Sequence), AA Defenses (which reduces your max stratagem slots, letting you only carry 3), and Orbital Flucations (which increases the Cooldown Time for Stratagems by 25%)
Optional Objective Numbers seem to remain the same (3 Objectives, although i think theres a chance to be four?). New Objective Type is added, the Gunship Fabricator, which will generate Gunships which can gun you down with Machineguns and Rockets.
New Main Missions - Not many, however, Sabotage Airbase gets an update where one of the objectives is replaced by a Air Tower that you must destroy. Other than that, most missions stay the same.
Command Bunker has been moved to this Difficulty (as of a recent patch), now sporting two command bunkers instead of one, side-note, there's a chance that only two Optional Objectives will appear on this mission (for whatever reason I've had one instance where there were only two tactical objectives available on this mission type, my hypothesis was that the two Command Bunkers may have taken up too much space around the map).
Removed Missions - None to my Observation
Enemy Spawning Pool
Standard Units - Remain Unchanged Maurader is introduced [i think at this difficulty, should check Challenging to see if they appear there], acting as a more formidable variant to the standard Raider & Trooper.
Special Units - Remain Unchanged (although may be more numerous than usual i think? i could be wrong) Gunship is Introduced.
Heavy Units - Remain Unchanged (with the exception to that there may be more of them? Once again, unsure)
Patrols - More Hulk Patrols seemingly appear along side with Patrols being sprinkled with more Devastators. Tanks will also randomly appear as well.
Extraction - Random chance of a Tank spawning in (this may not be exclusive to Hard however)
EXTREME-6
Mission Area Information
This is where it all gets started, sub-objectives double and the enemies become even more resilient than ever.
There is a low chance for the Extraction Point to be guarded (i had to update this after having a guarded Extraction Zone today in a Extreme Mission)
Main Missions & Optional Objectives - Same as before, now theres guaranteed to be an additional objective
(4 Optional Objectives Available).
Enemy Spawning Pool
Standard Units - Ditto.
Special Units - Ditto.
Heavy Units - Shredder Tanks are now introduced + Tanks are now called in via Dropships (UPDATED AROUND 3/28/2024).
Patrols - Ditto
Extractions - Ditto
SUICIDE MISSION-7
Mission Area Information
Points of Interests are now heavily guarded and protected by Cannon Turrets and Heavier Enemies at times, more tougher enemies await at various locations, and the entire environment (or at least areas of interest) is under total enemy control. You are in the heart of the enemy's base of operations.
You will be wanting to avoid as much action as possible at times (unless you & your team are like a well oiled machine, even then, still avoid as much heavy action as you can).
However, there is good news, its at difficulty 7 you are finally able to obtain the last Sample-Type, Super Uranium (located at "Thumb" Rocks), which allows you to upgrade your remaining ship modules.
New Main Mission - None that I've seen.
Optional Objectives - Around 4 to 5?
Enemy Spawning Pool
Standard, Special, & Heavy Units - All at their peak. Be weary. Stay safe.
One New Enemy Unit - Factory Strider, Information Unknown: Be Prepared.
Defense Structure - All at their peak.
Patrols - At their peak. Avoid at all costs.
Extraction - Refer to Mission Area Information.
From this point on, Mission 8 & Mission 9 are akin to Mission 7 except more enemies (and probably more mission debuffs).
And thus, this concludes the stuff i know, hope you enjoyed reading this. Good luck Helldivers, and together, hopefully we can liberate Troost in time.
And thus concludes information on the Automatons, however soon they will soon be eradicated because they only have two planets remaining. However i hope that some of this information is at least somewhat helpful.
