Found - AXEL and Buckishiro

Happy Mother's Day! 🌿✨ Buckishiro, the Ovurrat from The Land of Htrae is back. I made this piece as a gift to my mother for Mother's Day. As Buckishiro explores the mysterious Sacred Forest, amidst the mist and verdure, he stumbles upon AXEL, an ancient automaton that has fallen into disrepair.

Pixie Warrior. (Avail.) Battle Imp is its companion piece (see previous post). This a Pixie Warrior atop its faithful riding moth. Riding moths are considered part of each pixie’s family and proudly wears the family jewel upon its head which will match the jewel on the pixie’s helmet. In this case it is a stunning opal. The Pixie Warrior bravely wields its pneuma wand, a weapon against evil consisting of a sharp dagger on one end with an integrity crystal on the other. This majestic green crystal can shoot positive energy into a psyche. If there’s still some goodness within the soul of the pixie’s opponent, the positive energy can give it enough strength to grow and overcome the bad energy. The Pixie Warrior wears a sacred amulet on its back that rechargers the integrity crystal. This amulet has the ability to absorb pure positive energy when blessed. Each amulet is ancient, so its power comes from being blessed by generations of pixies. If this magic cannot turn the opponent to the good side then the pixie will have to use the dagger end. This pixie warrior is on its way to fight a battle Imp who is about to enter their territory. The pixie fields is a place full of sunlight shining down to make its crystal hills sparkle, emerald colored wheat glow and golden flowers bright. This is the companion piece to Battle Imp. Battle Imp has been sold! I will be dropping him off to his forever home tomorrow. Battle Imp is the companion piece to Pixie Warrior. I’ll post the Pixie Warrior video tomorrow. In the 3rd photo you’ll see a close-up of the weapons for both the Pixie Warrior & Battle Imp. This is his story: This is no ordinary imp. This tiny demon has been bewitched by a sorceress and set upon the task of invading the pixie fields to steal magical objects for her. Imps are normally solitary creatures but can have a strong bond with a bewitched battle bat that the sorceress has given to him to help him accomplish his duties. Even if the bewitchment is broken the battle Imp and bat will continue to be bonded for life. Now a Battle Imp, he carries a sword on his back made from a stingray barb and enchanted to shield against the power of a pixie’s pneuma wand. This battle Imp and bat has just emerged from the beautiful but dark lands of mushrooms and fallen bones. Where glittering stones are scattered among spiked flowers twisting out of fractured jaws. Where crooked red horns and smoky crystals grow from the cracks in the ground. Materials: animal bones, preserved bat parts, devil’s coral, rubies, garnet, quartz crystals, rainbow hematite, pyrite, red dwarf tea tree flowers, antique bronze base with bronze mushrooms. Luna’s Black Butterfly created in 2016. This real butterfly automaton was named after the beautiful woman who commissioned it. It features a Green Birdwing Butterfly (Ornithoptera Priamus). This is one of the largest butterflies in the world with a wing span of 6 inches across. I armored this butterfly with brass filigree and adorned it with a pale lemon peridot. This sculpture also includes a rare antique bulb shaped cloche and antique brass flowers. The song playing is called Atomic Aria by me, Ave Rose and produced by @atomsmithmusic on @entelodonrecords . This Saturday Dec. 21st, I’ll be showing my Serpent Sentinel Automaton at the @themenageriealameda Holiday Market along with many more of my creations. This is the Serpent Sentinel’s story: Hidden within a cave filled with shimmering ruby crystals and quartz clusters there is a snake skeleton creature called the serpent sentinel. He has garnet eyes red as wine and golden bones sharp as knives. Upon his head he wears glorious armor made from metallic green beetles. And within his jagged fanged mouth he holds a jeweled sword as he wraps himself around a glass encasement containing a floating rose with the prettiest petals of burgundy and creme swirls. And this rose is just as magical as it is beautiful for it can bestow the power of eternal youth to whoever owns it. Reach for the rose and this creature will manifest into a sword wielding sorcerer ready to protect his enchanted treasure! Would you dare challenge this serpent sentinel to gain such power? My Beehive Bouquet Music Box sculpture will be featured in the @hivegallery ’s Pagan Holiday Show curated by @stephenholmanart! Opening night is this Sat. Dec. 7th! There is an antique brass key on this piece that plays the tune Clair De Lune when turned. Clair De Lune was inspired by the french poem of the same name. This tune and poem greatly inspired this piece. Here is an English translation: Your soul is a delicate landscape Where roam charming masks Playing the lute and dancing seeming almost sad under their whimsical disguises. While singing in a minor key Of victorious love and easy life. They don't seem to believe in their happiness, And their song mingles with the moonlight, With the sad and beautiful moonlight, Which makes the birds in the trees dream, And sob with ecstasy the water streams. The BLM movement is not a trend it is a revolution and it has me thinking more than ever about transformation, change, and rebirth... I took this video on March first at my friend Jim’s memorial. I miss him. It was surreal to turn the music box key and use the crank after he was gone. It’s called Mother and Pearls and it was from my first taxidermy automata collection called Bestiary of the Automaton many moons ago. It’s even more surreal to realize how meaningful it is to what’s happening in the world right now. It features a white butterfly and a blue cicada. Both are symbols of transformation, change and rebirth. Since butterflies undergo complete metamorphosis, its transformation is all at once and it is completely changed. Like it has to die and come back to life. But the Cicada’s transformation takes time and comes in molting stages, having to shed its skin many times before finally getting its wings to take flight. In its final stage it is the best version of its self but not completely different. The the ideas of white supremacy must die so the white people who have been brainwashed with it can be reborn like this white butterfly. And though police brutality must stop right now, true police reform in our society is something that will need to happen in stages over time so that it can become the best version of protect and serve. The music box song is called Fascination. Jim and his widow Jenny who is also my dear friend... Dragonfly And Opal Automaton 2015. I created this piece for a dear friend using an emerald jewel wing damselfly adorned with genuine opal. Though dragonflies and damselflies are related they are not the same insect. Dragonflies tend to be larger and have different shaped wings whereas damselflies are smaller in shape and their wings (forewings and hindwings)are close to the same shape. I personally find damselflies to have prettier colors so when a client asks me to make a dragonfly piece I show them damselflies too and they tend to choose a damselfly.
