I think I need help but I'm not sure

Well, I don't know what I'm doing right now. I don't know if I'll post the message in the end. I don't know if that will help. Basically I just don't know... which is a feeling (or whatever we call it) I have very often.

I guess I can start from the very beginning and tell you who I am. I'm a 31-year-old man from Switzerland and I was diagnosed schizophrenic at the age of 16. I'll try to recount my story in the clearest possible way.

The first signs appeared in my childhood. It all started with OCDs (which at the time were not something big to me). I've always been very careful and meticulous with my stuff. At the age of 10 maybe I started to spend some time by cleaning my things at home or at school. Cleaning is probably not the good word. I was just trying to get rid of some invisible dust on my pens, notebooks, etc. I think this is the first ritual I had.

Another ritual appeared quite at the same time. I started to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror (mostly checking my hair). As it was for my stuff I wanted to reach a kind of perfection by doing all this. This was not something big to me because I still could do all the things a kid usually do. At the time I was not aware this could get worse.

But at the age of 15 when it was time to start high school everything got more complicated. I'm not sure what exactly was the reason but I think I know the trigger. My nose changed and I started to get obsessed with it. What didn't help either is that my OCDs got worse. Every piece of paper given by the teachers were like "not clean" to me and I had to make copies of every of them at home (using my dad's printer at his work place). Then came the problem that I couldn't write on the paper I had reprinted because my handwriting was not "perfect". So I printed and printed again so many sheets of paper, and tried to write in this "perfect" way so many times. My parents noticed all that and this even made me get angry towards them. Every evening I was in the living room, lost in my hundreds of sheets of paper and about to burn out. At this time I needed 2-3 hours in front of the mirror to get ready to go to school in the morning. I can't believe how long I could endure all this.

But in the end, 6 months after the beginning of high school, I burnt out. I don't remember exactly how it happened because all this seems a bit vague to me today. I had to stop my studies (which was very hard for me) and to start to see a psychiatrist. What happened then is still vague to me and I can't really tell you the exact chronology.

New more serious symptoms appeared. I got lost in my mind and began to cut my wrists and to think about death. I tried to kill myself for the first time (by taking 10 grams of paracetamol). I had to go to the emergency where they gave me the cure. After that I had to go the the psychiatric hospital (for teenagers). I spent 2 months there and started a medical treatment (antipsychotics, fluvoxamine and aripiprazole).

After that I needed some time to rest, like one year if I remember well. Then I started a new formation. I could have gone back to high school but I was so afraid of this place. I met a girl who became my girlfriend, for around 2 years. We broke up. I made a second attempt (same way) and spent one week in another psychiatric hospital (for adults).

As expected I'm now asking myself what am I doing... I don't see the point in writing all that.

So after that I tried to start new studies which I never could finish. This is getting a very long post... and I just don't want to tell everything. There's too much.

But now I'm with my girlfriend (another one) since almost 7 years. We've been living together for 3. And most of my problems are partially "gone" which actually means I can live with them. I still have the medical treatment.

So what's the point in this? I don't know... I think it could help me (because I still have problems of course) dealing with my schizophrenia. I'd maybe even love to meet some people like me IRL too.

I forgot a lot of things but it can be a good start.

Canterbury metal? Djent Classical? Saloon-core? Univers Zero Escape Plan? Electric Miles Davis in Opposition? A maze of these and other genres for you in the new album. Nine traditionally titled tracks, repeatedly tested on humans. Superficially heavy, this music is sleek, lyrical and resembles a tiger sneaking up on soft paws but looking to sharpen claws and plunge. Fragile filling in an all-metal shell was the hallmark of the band from the very outset. This time we went a little further -- more heavy jazz, more metal turned inside out, excursions into the history of music of the XX century, and the familiar musical sarcasm. What the new album is not about -- it is the inherent pathos of all ‘progressive’. Inflation of style removes information from music.
