This is question is probably going to be a little silly but how might I go about adding a title to the sidebar in that code base? I got a title to show up but I can't seem to get it to go under the icon.

It’s not silly! I can’t believe I forgot to mention the title. 

You should probably wrap your title in something first, like a

, , or even a

tag depending on what kind of style you’re going for. h1 tags are typically used for titles. The default styling is large and bold text. b tag would only make it bold, not bigger by default. and p would just be plain text.  I suggest using an h1 tag (so:

{Title}

). Just tested that in the preview blog.

Make sure you’re putting it underneath the sidebar image in the HTML. Like this:

                                     <!– this is probably where you want your title –>                {Description}            

And of course you can style this in the CSS by doing this:

aside h1 {/* h1 styling for sidebar */}

The reason why I’m suggesting aside before h1 is because h1 can also be used in post titles, so this keeps the styles separate. .textpost h1 already exists in the CSS.

Read more html code

I was complaining about the ‘read more’ function not working on my actual blog a little while back, and I believe I’ve finally figured out what piece of html to add to my tumblr theme. Iirc a couple of you were interested in this as well.

You have to edit two parts of your tumblr theme: The text post code and the answer code.

My code looks like this:

The bolded part is what controls the read more function. Make sure you add it after {/block:Title}{Body} and before {/block:Text}. That’s for text posts. For asks, I added a slightly altered code:

hi there! for your theme 33 is there anyway to change the icon to make it different from your avatar? my avatar is a different shape and just looks awkward and the blog icon, thanks!

Hi, in your code, scroll down to line 339 to the following:

and repace the {PortraitURL-128} part with the url of your new icon.
