Later, I will reflect on what I've done. I might realize it was significant, insofar as it contradicts my values or the values of the people I care about. I might then judge myself to have acted badly, or even to have done something I should never have done. In this way, my embarrassment or guilt can be transformed into shame.
Shame is a kind of suffering that arises because I'm averse to being someone who does wrong and I am attached to this aversion. It is impossible to satisfy this aversion because the past is immutable: I must be the person I already am and I have done wrong. What I do not have to be is someone who is attached.

"I see you Mara. Come, Let's Have Tea" -The Buddha
Believing that something shouldn’t be happening is a type of avoidance. Avoidance of potential suffering creates suffering. Accepting that in life, there is suffering may seem very cathartic, but it helps us to practice let go of our deep aversion to suffering. So may I ask, so the difference between pain and suffering. Adversion to discomfort… I shouldn’t be going through this, I shouldn’t be dealing with this. Creates suffering. Aversion to discomfort according to a lesson I’m taking in a Buddhist studies course.
Always grasping for what makes us comfortable. peace, feelings of joy or happiness will lead to impermanence. The temporary fixes to a deeper problem. The non-acceptance that suffering exists and is a part of life. It’s looking for a short term fix, we become self-centered and less kind to others to avoid our own suffering.
Not striving for these wants, looking for the well-being of those around us, can be used to reduce our own suffering, we have more compassion and quit looking for quick fixes.
In this quote, the Buddha is speaking to a demon named Mara, who is a part of the Buddha himself and is the part that's stirring up trouble on his path to enlightenment. I have heard it said that Mara can be a representation of our own emotions that we may feel an aversion to. By learning to sit with them, and have tea with them, we are able to befriend our emotions.

On Choosing: A Multifaceted Exploration
Choosing is an inherently human act that defines our existence and shapes the trajectory of our lives. It is through choices that we create meaning, forge our paths, and exert agency in a world rife with unpredictability. A choice, at its core, is the deliberate act of selecting one course of action over another, often driven by values, reasoning, and awareness. Yet, the distinction between…

Our aversion to destruction extends not just to physical objects but also to our creations in the virtual world of norms and language. To negate these things can feel just as troubling. But an aversion to negation operates like any other aversion. If we become attached to it then we limit our possibilities, narrow the scope of our lives, and trap ourselves in the cycle of suffering.
By clearing the ground, we enable the possibility of building anew. We gift ourselves a fresh opportunity to think clearly about what we most need and to put our time and effort towards building something even better than what we already have.

EXPRESSION | Foin (de quelque chose) ➽ http://bit.ly/Expression-Foin Marque le dédain, le mépris, l'aversion. Cette interjection serait issue du verbe « fouiner » au sens de « s'enfuir telle une fouine »

The best way I can describe to an allo person how you feel about sex as a topic as a sex-repulsed or averse asexual is that it feels like a hype that never ends. As though Despicable Me came out and everyone around you was sending minion facebook memes to each other for years to come. The stores are full of minion themed products; they're in ads and your friends talk about them all the time. And deep in your heart you're like "I'm glad that they're able to enjoy something I personally don't like and am not interested in :3". But there is always this little voice in the back of your head that's like "If I have to see ONE MORE of these little yellow FUCKERS today then God help us all." You make an active choice to communicate only the former.

-Aversion- strong feeling of dislike
I look at them humans, my kind But we feel nothing alike they destroy what we should we honor mock what we should love separate what we should bring together I feel aversion for my kind because they don’t worship life I’m not even sure its something they like I watch them drown the light in a child’s eyes suffocate the wonder and surprise kill everything they don’t like I watch them they leave the shell of a child behind I feel aversion for my kind they kill, destroy and maul whats sacred But act like they’ve given life I feel aversion for my kind
