We have a new citizen in Mount Phoenix:

           Khonshu, the Egyptian God of the Moon and Time.            He is the Owner of Sakura

FC NAME/GROUP: Bang Yongguk GOD NAME: Khonshu PANTHEON:  Egyptian OCCUPATION: Owner and one of the hosts/bartender of Sakura HEIGHT: 183cm WEIGHT: 60kg

DEFINING FEATURES:  Gummy smile and plush lips; however a gaze that can instill fear.  He has tattoos all over his body as well - The left arm has hieroglyphics that are detailed enough to look chiseled into his skin, including a hyper realistic version of his own self depicted as a falcon  (inspo) , he has random Egyptian hieroglyphics over his body in random areas, including private areas)

PERSONALITY: 

Khonshu is known to be child-like in multiple aspects , he likes toys, video games, even just being outside and playing within and with nature. He can also be very tempered like a child- he is known for having tantrums as well. He can be very sour and unforgiving if you come across him on a bad day. 

He does have a romantic side as well, and is a sucker for love. Watching romance movies as well as dramas has recently become a hobby of his. Khonshu loves giving gifts as well - it’s part of his love language. as he is the one who watches over those who travel at night, he’s very fond of traveling. 

HISTORY:

At first, he never travelled, he was always busy watching over them from the sky - he felt like he needed to be there - hidden in the cracks of the moonlight. Eventually he found himself on the ground, and began travelling across the sands with the humans at night to see why they were travelling. Watching over them throughout the night he protected them from predators.  

As the centuries progressed, the god had covered all of the sand of Egypt. Discovering his own love of traveling he began exploring the other edges of the world. He thought he should try the opposite of heat and visited the north Pole. The God soon left as he realized there was nothing much aside from being cold. The South Pole also seemed to have the same discovery. Despite the cold he still enjoyed finding what could be out there.

As the God travelled, word had spread of his work while traveling. There were claims that he had healed a princess as soon as she laid eyes on a picture of him - not even the actual god himself.  A king began calling himself “Beloved of Khonsu Who Protects His Majesty and Drives Away Evil Spirits.“ He worked hard helping as many as he could:  health, fertility or travelling. He is a workaholic.  It’s said when Khonshu creates a phase of the moon, women and livestock are most fertile. 

Eventually the God had found himself in Korea, enjoying culture as much as he could. He decided to stay in Korea and eventually stumble upon Mount Phoenix. It was an accident but the best one he had ever done.

POWERS:  

time travel (backwards, but cannot interact with anything), healing, fertility, vanishes in the dark/completely hidden, gains strength at night due to the moon, can change the phases of the moon

STRENGTHS: helpful, kind, gentle touch, WEAKNESSES: very angry at times, can create pain for fun when bored, ignorant at times as well.

Homecoming at Sunset

The shrill buzz of the kitchen timer echoed through the house, signaling the cookies were ready. Smiling, you jumped up from the couch and rushed to the stove. With a few quick taps, you silenced the timer and turned off the oven. Grabbing the potholders, you opened the oven door and carefully pulled out the baking sheet, setting it on the cooling rack above the stove. The sweet, buttery aroma of homemade chocolate chip cookies filled the air, and you couldn't help but beam at the sight of their golden perfection. After putting the potholders back in their place, you headed to your room to get ready for the evening.

Today was your boyfriend Yongguk's birthday. For weeks, you and his closest friends had been planning a surprise party at the beach to welcome him home from B.A.P's three-month-long world tour. While Yongguk and the others were unpacking and freshening up after their flight, you'd been busy cooking some of his favorite foods, filling the house with scents you knew he loved.

Slipping into your black strapless dress adorned with white tropical flowers, you let the fabric settle at mid-thigh and paired it with black sandals to match. You moved to the bathroom, pulling your hair free from the messy bun it had been tied in, letting your wavy locks fall to just below your mid-back. With a few strokes of your brush, you smoothed out the tangles, making sure every strand fell just right. After a final glance in the mirror and a few finishing touches, you smiled in satisfaction.

A chime from your phone drew your attention. Picking it up from the bed, you read Daehyun's message: We're at the beach and ready when you are. Smiling, you typed back a quick reply: Just finished up here. Be there soon.

Grabbing your purse and keys, you hurried downstairs to pack the last of the food into the wicker picnic basket. You carefully added a few cookies into a sandwich bag and placed it alongside the other dishes, double-checking that nothing was forgotten. Then, with everything loaded into your car, you started the engine and set off for the beach. Excitement bubbled within you, and you couldn't stop smiling, your thoughts consumed by the prospect of seeing Yongguk again after so long.

When you arrived, you spotted the familiar black van parked by the beach. Instead of pulling up beside it, you parked a few spaces away, just in case Yongguk returned to the van for something. Texting Daehyun to let him know you'd arrived, you stepped out and began unloading the basket when you felt a light tap on your shoulder.

Turning, you found Daehyun standing there, grinning. You immediately hugged him tightly. "It's so good to see you again! How was the tour?"

"It's good to see you too," he said with a laugh. "The tour was amazing, but we're all glad to be home. Especially Yongguk—he wouldn't stop talking about you."

You chuckled, shaking your head. "I'm glad you guys had fun. And sorry about that—you know how he gets."

Together, you carried everything to a nearby picnic table, where Daehyun had already laid out a tablecloth. As you set out plates, cups, and utensils, Daehyun headed back to the others, leaving you to straighten out your dress and hair one last time.

A burst of laughter drew your attention to the group approaching the picnic area. You noticed Yongguk struggling against the blindfold his friends had placed over his eyes, his muffled protests making you giggle.

The group stopped a few feet away, and Youngjae removed the blindfold. Yongguk blinked a few times, adjusting to the bright sunlight. When his eyes landed on you, his jaw dropped slightly in surprise. You smiled softly, raising a hand in a small wave.

"Happy birthday, Yongguk," you said warmly.

Without a word, he closed the distance between you, wrapping his arms tightly around you. His embrace was firm yet gentle, his familiar warmth enveloping you completely. You buried your face in his chest, taking in his scent, the ache of missing him finally easing. After a moment, he pulled back just enough to cup your face with his hands, his deep brown eyes locking with yours before he leaned down and pressed his lips softly to yours.

The kiss was sweet and unhurried, the faint taste of salt lingering on his lips from the ocean breeze. You wrapped your arms around his neck, kissing him back until the sound of the others clearing their throats brought you both back to reality.

"Happy birthday, Yongguk!" the group chorused, patting him on the back as they ushered him toward the table. He didn't let go of your hand the entire time.

The celebration carried on for hours, filled with laughter, teasing, and stories of the group's tour. As the sun began to set, Yongguk turned to you, his hand still in yours. "How about we grab a blanket and watch the sunset together?"

Smiling, you nodded. He grabbed the blanket from the bench and, after letting the others know, led you down the shoreline. The warm sand shifted beneath your feet as you walked hand in hand, the rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the shore creating a perfect backdrop.

Finding a quiet spot, Yongguk spread the blanket out, settling down and pulling you close between his legs. You leaned back against his chest, stretching your legs out in front of you as his arms wrapped securely around your waist. Together, you watched as the sun dipped below the horizon, its fiery hues reflecting on the ocean's surface.

A cool breeze swept through, sending a shiver down your spine. Feeling you tremble, Yongguk tightened his hold, running his hands gently up and down your arms to warm you. He leaned down, pressing soft kisses to your neck before resting his chin on your shoulder.

Turning your head slightly, you met his gaze, his brown eyes soft and full of affection. He leaned in, capturing your lips in another kiss, this one slower and more tender, as if savoring the moment.

When you finally pulled away, you turned back to the ocean, letting the soothing sounds of the waves wash over you. His arms tightened around you, and in a whisper, you said, "Welcome home, Yongguk. Welcome home."

bang yongguk released such a beautiful amapiano-inspired comeback song and i wish more people would know about “motion”. it’s the perfect, chill summer bop that makes you dream, lean back, and escape. if you like stray kids’ bang chan, monsta x’ shownu, exo’s kai, MINO or bts’ namjoon, i’m sure yongguk is right up your alley. i highly recommend his incredible work and a dose of that infamously high voltage yongguk smile because it’s everything.

interestingly, motion is kind of the opposite of his all-time masterpiece “YAMAZAKI” (for those who remember that absolute 2017 banger. god i miss B.A.P and the days when hardcore korean rap was popular, star-studded, and well-produced. it really needs to return), but that beach boy side suits him so well, too. immaculate aesthetics blended with his voice.

yongguk’s delivery never fails. he just has the it-factor, the feel for it. he could collab with tyla (!), sza and normani all at once and still carry an equal verse. (in fact... that would be the coolest concept ever.) and seriously, yongguk is still an underrated visual artist that needs to be more known - he deserves to be back on the map with a fresh start because damn is this absolute king talented with literally /everything/. 

his wikipedia literally reads: “bang is credited [...] as executive producer, lyricist, track producer, and art director, and self-directs videos for his solo work from conception to editing.” just incredible. and to state the obvious: next to yoongi, felix, i.m and namjoon, he’s still one of the most fascinating bass/baritone voices in the business to me. if you’ve seen his 19-minute 2024 movie called “3”? he still got it.

Oooooh my gosh, I got to do my very first video call ever, and it was with my ults! One minute goes by SO FAST, but I'll treasure this call forever. I told Yongguk that I've been a BABY since debut, and that B.A.P has dones so much for me, so I just wanted to thank him for everything. He seemed so genuinely touched, and how he replied by saying that these moments (getting thanked like that) were special made my heart so incredibly full. I was also going to ask about how Tigger was doing, but despite having notes ready, I blanked entirely and forgot to look at them. That's where the "see me" moment happened, and gosh, he's such an amazing soul! For Daehyun, he opened immediately by pointing out my albums behind me, and his reaction to them made me smile so much it hurt! I mostly just got to tell him I was a singer, and his voice has been a huge influence on me, which you can see in the gifs above. He also seemed really touched, and I'm so glad I could give him that. He's taken such a leap coming back with the troubles he's been having, and I just wanted him to know how much BABYz appreciate and love him. Again, I meant to ask about Ganji, but forgot to check my notes lol. For Jae, I'm afraid I may have been speaking too fast in general to him. I kept having to remind myself to slow down when he got a confused expression, and I felt bad about it. I asked him if he planned to do a solo album after his musical, and he said that he doesn't plan to right now. I told him that whenever he does, I'll be looking forward to it. Then there was an awkward pause, because again, I blanked, but I did get to tell him I've been a BABY since debut, which seemed to make him happy! Jongup was such a sweetie! I thanked him for getting the four of them back together for Curtain Call, and told him that I was so grateful. I also complimented his hair, because gosh, it looks so good! Then he noticed the albums as well, and I showed him like I had Dae, and he was also quite impressed haha! His little eyebrow raise at the end of his heart was the cutest thing! I know it's not a lot, but I hope that this recounting makes some BABYz out there smile at least a bit. I've been following B.A.P for so long, and they've meant so much to me, and this experience only made me love them more (if that's possible). I have no words to express the fullness of my heart right now, so I'll leave it at that!
