Big Brother Pimm Headcanons (Barbie in the Nutcracker)

As a big brother, he’s very much an “I’m only taking care of you because I have to” kind of guy.

(With that said, as much as he might mess with you, absolutely nobody else is allowed to even look at you funny.)

He teases you all the time, about anything and everything.

He calls you “bat brat”. You call him “Pimmple”.

He’s a very crooked flier and can be very clumsy. He sometimes exaggerates it to make you laugh.

If you have any other caregivers, he encourages you to cause trouble for them.

He can get really frustrated at times, especially if you’re feeling really needy.

When you’re super upset (or when he feels guilty), he’ll offer to make your favorite foods.

“Well, I’d LIKE to play make believe with you, but there’s these chores that need doing. If only there was some way to get them done faster…”

He will NEVER admit it, but he checks in on you when you’re sleeping, just to make sure you’re not having bad dreams.

Behind Closed Doors (A ‘Barbie in the Nutcracker’ Regression Fic)

The Mouse King regresses and Pimm catches him. Suggested by @wolfy-star1401 - sorry it took so long XD

The Mouse King commanded (and, moreover, demanded) respect. He was the most power sorcerer in Parthenia (not counting the FICTIONAL Sugar Plum Princess). He was the king, by right of strength if not birth. He had troops to spare and kept them in order by violently punishing the ones who disappointed him.

He DESERVED to be respected, to be feared.

So one can understand why he kept certain elements of his life a secret.

Pimm fluttered nervously around the halls, trying to build up his courage.

He knew it had been a bad day for the King. One of his battalions had been attacked by a small band of revolutionaries, and they had escaped before the soldiers could apprehend any of them. The Mouse King had been so angry, he’d turned three soldiers into wooden figurines and shut himself in his room.

And now Pimm was trying to psych himself up to check on him.

Come on. Bite the bullet. The worst he can do is kill you.

The bat swallowed hard and finally landed in front of the King’s door. He gave a quick knock and then jumped back, just in case.

Nothing.

Another knock, a shaky, “Sire?”

No response.

After two minutes of knocking and calling, Pimm was starting to get concerned - and slightly annoyed.

“Your Highness, I’m coming in,” he called out, pushing on the door. It creaked open and he peeked in.

There was the King, lying on his stomach, holding a wooden soldier in each hand. He was crashing them into each other, mumbling to himself.

Pimm blinked in confusion. “Sire?”

The King looked up, his eyes wide and owlish. “Pimm?” His voice was… off, in a way the bat couldn’t quite identify.

“Um… what are you doing, sire?”

“… Scheming.”

Higher pitched, maybe.

The King cleared his throat and waved a hand. “You can leave now.”

DEFINITELY higher pitched.

“Uh… right.” Pimm started to close the door, then peeked back in. “D’you, uh… need anything, Your Highness? A snack or… anything?”

“No, I’m fine. Just go.”

“Right…”

Pimm shut the door and thought it over for a moment.

Huh.

Well, he obviously wasn’t going to tell anyone - who would even believe him? - but… if he played his cards right, he could maybe get some extra food each day. It was worth a shot, at least.

The reader wakes up from a nightmare and goes to the Mouse King for comfort. Suggested by @wolfy-star1401

You sat bolt upright in bed, a sob ripping through your throat almost before you opened your eyes.

You touched your bed, your blanket, your face - anything to try and ground yourself, to convince yourself that the terrible dream was over and done with.

But it wasn’t really over, was it? Not as long as you could remember it.

You crawled out of bed, still weeping, and carefully left your room. The castle was dark and frightening at night, long shadows stretching across the hallways and reaching for your feet. You scurried as quickly as you could to the shiny golden door and frantically knocked, hiccuping and wiping your tears on your sleeves.

It felt like a very long time before the door opened and the Mouse King peered out, eyes still bleary with sleep.

“What on earth is so important it couldn’t wait?” he groaned, and you began to cry harder. The Mouse King blinked and his expression softened; it was a subtle change, but you recognized it immediately. “Well, what’s got my mousling so upset?”

“Bad dreams,” you mumbled.

He nodded in sympathetic understanding, setting a strong hand on your shoulder and leading you into his room. “Let’s see if we can’t chase them away then, hm?”

You nodded, though the tears were still coming.

The Mouse King sat you in his comfortable bedside chair and began gathering objects from around the room. He wiped your face with a soft handkerchief that smelled of roses. He gave you an icy glass of water which felt wonderful on your throat. He wrapped you in a thick and heavy quilt, and you began to relax as you felt more grounded.

“There now,” he soothed. “Are we feeling any better?”

You shrugged. You did feel better, but something was still nagging at your mind. “Mad?”

He blinked. “Am I mad? Of course not, dearest, why would I be mad?”

You stared at your feet. “Woke you up. Sounded mad.”

“Ah.” The Mouse King knelt beside your chair, gently tilting your face to look at him. “I was annoyed when I thought it was Pimm or a guard, but angry at you? Never, mousling. I’m proud that you were brave enough to come find me, so I could take care of you.”

You breathed a shaky sigh of relief. NOW you felt better.

And sleepy.

The Mouse King noticed your dropping eyes and chuckled. “Would you like to stay with me tonight?”

You nodded, and he gently moved you to the bed, pulling the covers up around your shoulders.

“Sleep well, my brave little mousling.”

Flip Mouse King Headcanons (Barbie in the Nutcracker)

As a Caregiver:

Thanks to his staff, it’s easy to shrink you down to a more childish size. He does this fairly often, just because he likes to see how excited you get.

He can also use his staff to conjure up fun toys or tasty treats for you.

When you play together, and especially when your games are competitive, he intentionally “underestimates” you so that you get to be the victor.

Parthenia is a fantastic and bizarre place, and he loves to take you out exploring.

He’s amazing at coming up with poems on the fly, and often recites some specially for you. “Little child, sweet and dear, I’ll make sure you have nothing to fear.”

As a Regressor

He is a super demanding kiddo. He wants everything, and he wants it now!

He turns the soldiers who disappoint him into wooden toys and spends hours staging battles with them.

One of his favorite things to do while regressed is read, but he hates stories with happy endings. Give him a book with a dark twist any day!

He still likes exploring while regressed, but only places near the castle. Too much walking makes him fussy.

He absolutely loves to harass Pimm, and constantly comes up with new ways to annoy the bat.

He‘s a sweet tooth which unfortunately results him to have a sugar rush sometimes

His favorite activity is reading but he prefers stories with dark twists. His favorite books are " scary stories to tell in the dark trilogy " and " grim‘s dark fairytales ". He secretly likes " the little prince " book but ssshhh { the first part was from @eflen-n-reegee }

He also likes to explore but when going too far he’ll get fussy { also from @eflen-n-reegee }

His little nicknames are : pipsqueak { to annoy him }, little price, dearly, kiddo, lad, mousy, mouseling and my boy

He has a bad habit of bottling up sad emotions but when he’s little or younger ( like 4 years ) he won‘t be able to pull himself together and start crying until he calms down
